Valentine Popcorn Treats Recipe

We are a big fan of cake, popcorn, and rice krispie treats and though of the perfect way to blend the three in this delicious Valentine Popcorn Treats Recipe. The recipe is simple and easy to make and is perfect for February or we found it would be cute, as well, for a princess themed party.

Ingredients:

1-3.2oz light butter popcorn or 8 cups air popped popcorn
5 cups miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup red M&M’s
3 tablespoons red, pink, and white heart sprinkles
1/2 cup Wilton pink candy melts

Directions:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine your miniature marshmallows and butter and heat in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes until the marshmallows grow.
Stir and pour your marshmallows over your popcorn and mix well.
Spread your popcorn out on your baking pan and sprinkle with M&M’s and sprinkles.
In a small microwave safe bowl, heat your candy melts in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Pour your melted candy into a sandwich bag and cut a small corner off the bottom.
Now drizzle your melted pink chocolate over your popcorn and let your chocolate harden at room temperature.
Enjoy!

5 cups miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup red M&M’s
3 tablespoons red, pink, and white heart sprinkles
1/2 cup Wilton pink candy melts

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine your miniature marshmallows and butter and heat in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes until the marshmallows grow.
Stir and pour your marshmallows over your popcorn and mix well.
Spread your popcorn out on your baking pan and sprinkle with M&M’s and sprinkles.
In a small microwave safe bowl, heat your candy melts in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Pour your melted candy into a sandwich bag and cut a small corner off the bottom.

Greek Yogurt Strawberry Cake

Anyone else love the blend of lemon and strawberries? This Greek Yogurt Strawberry Cake is so fresh and sweet creating the most amazing cake around. This is a super easy cake, consider swapping strawberries for blueberries or other fresh berry fruit.

Ingredients:

1 cup Greek yogurt (8 ounces)
3 cups all purpose flour
2 tsps baking powder
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 tsps vanilla extract
1 cup butter
¼ cup applesauce
1 tsp lemon juice
1 ½ cups chopped strawberries (we love fresh)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Grease a baking dish.
Use a mixer to combine the Greek yogurt, sugar, butter, applesauce, eggs, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
Add in the flour, baking powder, and 1 cup strawberries; and mix well.
Pour almost all the batter into the baking dish, top with the remaining strawberries and cover with the remaining batter.
Place in the oven for 50 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven.
Serve and enjoy.

Tips: Try adding other berries such as raspberries and blueberries.

A Disney World vacation can be the highlight of a childhood filled with family vacations, and with so many great options it’s not always easy deciding what to do. Planning a Disney trip with one child in mind is hard enough, but if you have several children that you will be taking to Disney World, making sure they each do things they enjoy can be a challenge. Thankfully, there are so many can’t miss moments found in every Disney park that are at the top of the list for every single visitor, no matter their age.

Kilimanjaro Safari

The Animal Kingdom is the most overlooked parks by guests at Walt Disney World, but not by Disney. It is a fantastic place to spend an entire day with kids, especially those that are enthusiastic about animals. While some guests pass it off as an expensive zoo, you only need to pass through the gates to know that it is so much more. The Kilimanjaro Safari is one of those rides that children remember for years, and is one that you shouldn’t miss. Everyone boards an open air safari jeep that makes its way through an entertaining and wild trip through the safari. Lines are short enough and every trip is different so don’t hesitate to get in line again if children make the request.

Mickey Mouse & Friends Greeting

Every child, and guest, at Disney World cannot miss a stop to see Mickey Mouse and friends. This is one of the most popular moments and photo opps in the whole park, with everyone lining up for photos, autographs and hugs, where ever the characters congregate. Check park listings to find out where characters will have scheduled meet n greets, but your best option is to reserve a character meal time when kids can get plenty of one on one time with several characters all at once. You also can consider a Fast Pass.

The Pirate’s League in Adventureland

Disney is all about giving in to fun and make believe, so why not indulge in the ultimate make believe experience and let your children have their moment as a pirate. Head over to Adventureland and let children take part in The Pirate’s league experience, where they will can dress up, wear face paint, learn to be a pirate and set off to find treasure. Taking part in this experience also gives children the chance to be a part of a very special and fun Parade of Pirates through Adventureland. If you have more of a princess, check out the Bibbidi Bobbidi Botique in Downtown Disney or the Magic Kingdom.

Toy Story Midway Mania

This ride at Disney World (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) is so popular because its so much fun, but it also provides families with good memories because it has a way of making kids out of all of us. Children love it when their parents get down to business and compete in this video game ride with them, nothing wrong with fun competition. Make sure to ride Toy Story Mania together, as a family and its sure to be one of your favorite moments of your entire vacation. Christmas Tree Rice Krispies Treats – this Christmas food craft is great for the kids and creates a fun twist to the everyone’s favorite, the classic rice krispie treat!

We love our Christmas Food Crafts and wanted to update an older post – Christmas Tree Rice Krispies Treat! These are a fun and tasty rice krispie treats with a twist. They can be made into adorable Christmas tree treats!

Tip: To get the cone shape, we used the Styrofoam mold in a box of Keebler Sugar Cones. If buying these, also make these fun Ice Cream Cone Santa Hat Cupcakes.

Ingredients:

6 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
3 tbsp Butter
10.5 oz Marshmallows
Green Food Coloring
12 Miniature Reese’s Cups
1/3 cup M&M Minis
12 Candy Stars
3 cup Powdered Sugar
3 tbsp Milk
3 tbsp Corn Syrup
Optional: We used the Styrofoam mold in a box of Keebler Sugar Cones to form the trees

Directions:

To help in forming the cone shape, I took the foam that comes in a waffle cone pack to protect the cones and cut it to make a form to help shape the trees.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium to large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Add enough food coloring to make mixture dark green (it will lighten when cereal is added).
Remove from heat.
Add the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until cereal is well coated.
Allow to set about 4 minutes.
Butter a your hands and form mixture into cone shapes. (We used the Styrofoam mold in a box of Keebler Sugar Cones)
Place cones onto prepared pan.
Allow to cool and firm up for several hours.
Mix powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
Transfer to piping bag or zippered bag to pipe onto cookies.
Pipe like a garland around each tree.
Space M&M minis like ornaments onto the garland.
Pipe a dab of icing on top of tree to act as glue and attach star.
Place a Reese’s upside down on pan. Pipe icing on it and place tree on top.
Allow to set before serving.

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Mickey Mouse Food | Chocolate Covered Mickey OREOs

Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggety Dog! If you have a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan or perhaps you are celebrating an upcoming Disney trip, have fun with these easy to make Chocolate Covered Mickey Mouse OREOs. This Mickey Mouse Food is a yummy treat for little hands a fun food craft to make with the kids. I think it would be adorable for a child’s birthday party!

Note: Play with these. They can easily become Minnie cookies with pink chocolate melts and some red M&Ms. Also, stay true to your party colors. Use red chocolate melts and yellow M&Ms for a red and yellow themed party.

Ingredients:

OREOs
Wilton light cocoa chocolate melts
Mega M&M’s
Regular M&M’s
Colorful Sprinkles

Directions:

Lay out a piece of parchment paper.
In a microwave safe dish, heat one cup of your chocolate candy melts on 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes, after 30 seconds until melted.
Dunk an OREO into your melted chocolate, let an excess drop off, and place onto your parchment paper.
Place a mega M&M onto the bottom center of your chocolate coated Oreo and 2 matching regular M&M’s onto the top sides of the mega M&M to look like Mickey Mouse.
Top with your colorful jimmies, let harden at room temperature for 15 minutes, and enjoy!
