Learn what is a time capsule and what to put inside. Plus, download and print this adorable Kindergarten to High School Time Capsule Printable: A printable time capsule to keep throughout your child’s school years filled with the best of memories.

Time stands still for no one and that is especially true when your kids are growing up. Turn back time and celebrate how things have changed with a time capsule! This time capsule printable is so much fun and it’s a great way to keep those precious memories alive.

What is a Time Capsule?

A time capsule is a container that is filled with items that represent a specific time period. Time capsule ideas are items including anything from photos and clothes to toys and trinkets.

The purpose of a time capsule is to put these items in the keepsake and bury it somewhere so that it can be opened at a later date to remind people of what life was like during that time. Burying it, might just be putting it in the deep crevices of a utility room or other hidden room in the house. A perfect time to open this is a milestone event like a birthday, graduation or wedding.

What to Put in Your Time Capsule?

what to put inside a time capsule photos

There are no set rules for what you should put in your time capsule, but here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Photographs of you, your friends, and your family
  • Newspaper clippings from the time period
  • A list of songs that were popular during that time
  • Movie tickets or posters
  • Clothing items from the time period
  • Sports memorabilia

In our time capsule worksheets, we include the following…

  • Teacher
  • School
  • Photo
  • Favorite Subject
  • Favorite TV show
  • Favorite Movie
  • Favorite Book
  • Favorite Song
  • Favorite Food
  • Favorite Activity
  • Favorite Saying/Quote

The sheets also provide an opportunity to answer the following time capsule questions…

  • When I grow up I want to be…
  • My best friends are…
  • I’m really awesome at…
  • After school I like to…
  • Next year I look forward to…
  • This year I got better at…
  • Something new I learned

How to Make a Time Capsule?

There are lots of different ways to make a time capsule, but here is one easy way to do it:

  1. Choose a time capsule container. This could be anything from a cardboard photo box to a plastic Sterilite container with a lid.
  2.  Decorate the container however you like. You can paint it, draw on it, or use stickers to decorate it.
  3. Collect items that represent the time period. As mentioned earlier, these could be photos, newspaper clippings, clothing items, etc. Anything that is important during the time you’re representing works.
  4. Put the items in the container and seal it shut. The sealing process depends on how you’re going to store the container until you open it. If the plan is to bury the time capsule, you’ll want to make sure it is sealed tightly so that water cannot get in. If you’re going to store it inside, a simple piece of tape over the lid will suffice.
  5. Choose a date for when you want to open the time capsule. This could be 5 years from now, 10 years from now, or even 50 years from now.
  6. Label the container with the date and a description of what is inside.
  7. Bury or store the capsule somewhere safe.

How to Open a Time Capsule?

There are two ways to handle a time capsule. The first way is to simply bury it and forget about it until the date that you have chosen to open it. The second way is to store it in a safe place and then open it on the date that you have chosen.
If you want to bury your time capsule, it is a good idea to mark the spot so that you can find it later. If you choose to store your time capsule, make sure to put it in a place where it will not be damaged by water or bugs.

Have kids that love scavenger hunts? Or simply need an activity for your inner child? We’ve collected the best printable scavenger hunts from all over the web! Have tons of fun hunting with the whole family. Enjoy!

Printable Scavenger Hunts for Kids

Year-round Printable Scavenger Hunts for Kids

I’ve loved scavenger hunts since I was a kid. Well, I still love them! Some of my best memories are from scavenger hunts with family and friends. They got me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to meet new people. Plus, I love a good challenge and a prize, so I always gave my all to win the hunt! Scavenger hunts are amazing ice breakers for group scenarios, like at camp or a birthday party. Or, you can make a special scavenger hunt for a loved one to show them how much you care!

We had so much fun gathering the best printable scavenger hunts for kids from all over the internet. Whether you’re looking for a scavenger hunt at home or an outdoor scavenger hunt for kids, we’ve got a scavenger hunt for every season and occasion. Happy hunting!

What is a Scavenger Hunt?

A scavenger hunt is an engaging game played by children (and adults, too!). Every scavenger hunt begins with a list of objects to find and riddles or clues to help the players locate the items. To play the game, divide the players into at least 2 teams and give the teams or individual players copies of the list of clues. A scavenger hunt is similar to a treasure hunt in that there are clues to solve and at the end is typically a scavenger hunt prize or present.

Scavenger Hunt Printables for Kids

What are the Scavenger Hunt Rules?

Scavenger hunts can be played individually or in groups — either way, whoever finishes first wins! There are two types of hunts. Hunts can be consecutive where a team or individuals are given the first clue which leads to the second, third, fourth, and so on. Alternatively, hunts can be done using a checklist where the full list of “must do’s” are provided at the beginning. Provide players with a writing utensil, and they can check off their finds as they go!

Individual Scavenger Hunts

Individual scavenger hunts are a great way to busy a child or give them individual gifts on a special day. At each stopping point, before the next scavenger hunt riddle clue is given, gift your child a piece of their larger present. You can do this on birthday or even collecting their Back to School Supplies. Yes, you can do a scavenger hunt at home to make even Back to School Supplies exciting!

To begin, supply the player with the first scavenger hunt clue. The first riddle will lead them to the second. The second will lead them to the third clue and so on until the scavenger hunt is over. You can also provide a scavenger hunt checklist where the entire list must be completed before a prize is given.

Group Scavenger Hunts

Group scavenger hunts are perfect for sleepovers, lock-ins, class parties, and more. Even adults can find their inner child and have fun challenging each other in outdoor venues like parks, concerts, the mall, or in a city hunt challenge around town.

Either supply your groups with a scavenger hunts riddle and clue #1 or provide them a list of things to get on a piece of paper. This list is their checklist and must be completed in order to declare a winner. A checklist Scavenger Hunt is typically easier for large groups, so you don’t have to go around hiding multiple sets of clues for each team.

Use some of these Printable Scavenger Hunts for Kids below or search Pinterest for scavenger hunt ideas for adults.  Make sure to follow us on Pinterest too!

Scavenger Hunt Prize Ideas

Customize your prizes to the size of your scavenger hunt group. If you’ll have a lot of people winning, opt for smaller prizes. If you are doing an individual hunt, you can make the prize larger.

Scavenger Hunt Prize Ideas include:

  • Cheap trophies (fill with candy)
  • A cheap medal
  • Candy Bars
  • Gift Cards
  • Carnival prize toys
  • Seasonal prizes based on the scavenger hunt theme.

What are some ideas for Scavenger Hunts?

Before choosing a scavenger hunt, think of a theme. What season is it, is the a holiday that is close by are you having a scavenger hunt just because. Scavenger hunts can take two shapes, they can including good clues, perhaps in the form of cute rhyming riddles older kids need to solve. Alternatively, they can have images or pictures which are perfect for younger kids.

Starbucks Chocolate Bomb

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

January 8, 2022 by Thena Reading-Franssen Filed Under: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Recipe, Social Media 1 Comment

Calling all Starbucks fans! You’re not going to want to miss out on this Starbucks Chocolate Bomb recipe! Why spend a ton at the store when you can make them at home for a fraction of the cost? With just six simple ingredients needed, you can’t go wrong with this easy and delicious treat.

STARBUCKS CHOCOLATE BOMB

I’m a huge fan of literally anything with the words chocolate and Starbucks. But combined? I’m over-the-moon crazy about this simple treat. So much so that I find myself making this easy hot cocoa bomb recipe all year long.

Because why wouldn’t you want to have a treat that is all your own? I love Starbucks and being able to have a bit of “me” time and make something that I don’t have to share. (don’t judge me – I literally share everything else all the time!)

The other really great thing about this simple hot chocolate bomb is that it’s an awesome gift idea, too. Make these up for a family member, friend, teacher, or coach. Use these fun “Thanks a Latte” gift tags as a way to spruce up the gift and complete the look!

HOW DO YOU USE HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS?

There are a couple of different ways that you can use them. I prefer to put them in the bottom of my mug and cover them with warm milk, but some people use hot water instead. (I think it’s to cut down on the fat content but in my opinion, the milk adds a much-needed and delicious sweetness!)

HOW DO YOU STORE HOT COCOA BOMBS?

They’re actually quite shelf-stable! You can put them in a container with a lid and store them for a few weeks without worry. Although I highly doubt that they’d hang around that long, waiting to be enjoyed.

WHERE TO BUY HOT COCOA BOMBS

While I highly suggest making them homemade, you can also buy them to save time, too. Some of the best places that I recommend buying hot chocolate bombs are:

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS AMAZON

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS ALDI

HOT COCOA BOMBS COSTCO

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS WALMART

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS TARGET

ETSY HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS

All are going to be different flavors and looks so you’ll have a ton of great choices to choose from.

For even more awesome DIY hot chocolate bombs, don’t miss out on this massive Chocolate Bombs list!

Description

You’re going to love the flavor of this simple hot cocoa bomb recipe!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Chocolate Candy Melts
  • 2 cups Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows (I used green ones)
  • ¼ cup Starbucks-Colored Sprinkles Mix
  • 1 cup TAZO Chai Tea Latte Concentrate
  • ½ cup White Chocolate Candy Melts

Instructions

  1. Put the candy melts into a bowl that is microwave-safe and melt according to the directions on the package.
  2. Put 1 T of the candy melt into one side of the mold. Press the melted chocolate up the sides and keep it nice and thick. Do this for all 12 molds.
  3. Put the molds in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  4. Take them out of the freeze and peel the mold away to get the chocolate out.
  5. Put 1 T of hot chocolate mix and 1 tsp of chai tea into 6 of the molds. Give the tea time to soak in the hot chocolate mix for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Put in some sprinkle and up to 8 marshmallows.
  7. Put a plate in the microwave and warm until the surface is warm to the touch.
  8. Take one of the empty chocolate bombs and put the open side down gently on the warm plate for up to 10 seconds. You’re wanting to melt the rim just a little bit.
  9. Once melted, take and put it on top of one of the filled halves. This connects the two and creates the circle.
  10. Melt the white candy melts the same way that you did the chocolate ones.
  11. Using a fork, drizzle the melted white melts over the top of the cocoa bombs and add on more sprinkles.
  12. Put them in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  13. To use, pour over 2 cups of warm milk, stir, and enjoy!

Let us know your favorite combination! My favorite commination would likely be freshly brewed espresso on top, 2 pumps of vanilla, white mocha sauce, and shaved chocolate chips. Of course, in this case, I would be ignoring anything calories from my daily value.

Our recommendation is, if you don’t know what you are doing, just say “give me a hot chocolate!” It can get complicated with so many tastes and blends.

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over. A binder keeps me organized and gives me a place to store my recipes.

Tips for making the best southern peach sweet tea: Make sure you crush the peaches while stirring them in the pot and add the sugar while the syrup is hot. This helps the sugar dissolve well and creates a sweeter tea. Also, the secret ingredient is adding a pinch of baking soda while you’re brewing the black tea bags.

FAQ’s:

Why add the baking soda?

This secret ingredient actually helps reduce the bitter flavor (the tannens) from the tea bags, helping create a smoother, slightly less bitter end product.

What is Sonic sweet tea sweetened with?

They offer 2 options. A Sonic sweet tea that has a sugar syrup base, or a sugar free option that is sweetened with Splenda.

Is Sonic tea brewed?

Yes. Their teas, whether they are black tea or green tea, are brewed fresh daily.

How many tea bags do you use for a gallon of sweet tea?

That can depend on the quality of tea you’re using, how strong you want it, etc. The recommended amount varies but it is approximately eight to ten single cup tea bags or three to four family size tea bags.

How much sugar does Sonic put in their sweet tea?

A medium-sized sweet tea has about 45 grams of sugar.

What is the difference between sweet tea and sweetened tea?

There is not much difference. Sweet tea is typically brewed with sugar then has more sugar added to it, creating a slightly sweeter tea. Sweetened tea is usually just sweetened after it has been brewed and taken off the heat.

Quick Air Fryer Pizza

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

November 16, 2021 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Recipe, Social Media Leave a Comment

Create the easiest Air Fryer Pizza in about 10 minutes flat. It creates a quick and easy pizza that is perfect for the kids on Friday night. This Texas toast pizza has 4 simple ingredients.

Air Fryer Pizza Recipe

Pizza is a popular food all around the world, with variations in toppings and sauces. Nowadays, there are even gluten-free and vegan pizza options! But one of my favorite things to do lately is make air fryer pizzas.

With an air fryer you can get that crispy crust without having to use a ton of oil or cook it for hours on end. This recipe makes three personal-sized mini pizzas but if you want to feed more people then just double the ingredients below. It’s super easy and quick – I promise it won’t take more than 15 minutes from start to finish!

Why Cooking Pizza in the Air Fryer is Better

The air fryer has been trending for a while now, but it’s not just the latest and greatest kitchen gadget. It cooks your food in a more healthy way than traditional ovens. Air frying uses less oil, making the food crispier and healthier because there is no added fat to create that delicious crunchy crust.

And when you use an air fryer to make pizza dough or pizza sauce, you’re also using less oil since those ingredients are typically baked on parchment paper. This air fryer garlic toast pizza recipe goes from the air fryer to the table in just minutes. Pizza night will never be the same again!

Air Fryer FAQs

As with most things when a new trend pops up there’s confusion around it. Here are some answers to questions you might have:

  • Can you fit a pizza in the air fryer? Absolutely! The air fryer is a great way to make personal-sized pizzas. You can fit two or three mini pizzas depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • How long does it take to cook pizza in the air fryer? Unlike a traditional oven, the air fryer doesn’t take as long to cook your food. If you’re making mini pizzas they’ll only take about 5-8 minutes. The actual cook time depends on the thickness of your pizza dough, so be sure to check it after about five minutes of cooking time.
  • Is frozen pizza good in air fryer good? Yes! You can use any frozen pizza in your air fryer, whether it’s gluten-free or vegan.
Can you put aluminum foil in an air fryer? Yes, you can use aluminum foil in most air fryers. However, you need to be careful not to scratch the non-stick coating of your air fryer. If you don’t use aluminum foil then be sure to spray the basket lightly with non-stick cooking oil or use parchment paper.
  • Do I need to clean my air fryer after every use? Yes, it’s necessary to clean your air fryer after every use to make sure it functions properly. Be sure to wipe out any excess oil that might have spilled over or dried to the side of the basket.

How to Make Air Fryer Pizza

You’ll love how quick and easy this air fryer pepperoni pizza recipe is! What’s great about it is that since it’s made on Texas toast, you can make individual servings at lunchtime and the kids will not only love eating their individual pizza, but making it too!

Air Fryer Texas Toast Pizza

Ingredients

  • 3 slices frozen Pepperidge Farm Texas Toast Garlic

  • ½ cup marinara sauce

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 9 slices pepperoni

Supplies

  • Air Fryer

  • Spatula or spoon

Instructions

First preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees and set to cook for 6 minutes.

Place each garlic bread in the basket of the air fryer and cook for 4 minutes.

Texas Toast Air Fryer

Remove the basket and flip the Texas toast.

Using a spoon or spatula, spread a layer of sauce over the top of the toast, then top it with cheese and pepperoni.

Airy Fryer Pepperoni Pizza

Lastly, return the basket to the air fryer and cook for the remaining 2 minutes until your cheese is melted to the consistency that you like.

What’s the best way to reheat leftover pizza? The air fryer. This is a quick and easy way to warm up slices of pizza without using any oil or butter, leaving you with less calories and fat than traditional methods like the oven or microwave.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. First, place a piece of parchment paper on one side of the cooking rack in the air fryer basket (make sure there is enough room so that it doesn’t touch the heating element).
  2. Place your pieces of leftover pizza on top of the parchment paper.
  3. Close the air fryer and set it at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for two minutes.
  4. Open the air fryer and check to make sure your pizza is cooked throughout, then repeat if necessary until crispy.
