Understanding Treasure Hunts

Purpose of Treasure Hunts

Treasure hunts are a fun and engaging activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The main purpose of a treasure hunt is to challenge participants to solve clues and puzzles in order to find a hidden treasure. Treasure hunts can be used for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Team building: Treasure hunts can be used as a group game for a team-building exercise to encourage collaboration and communication among team members. They are great icebreakers and can be used to foster connections and relationships as well as improve communication and create camaraderie.
  • Education: Treasure hunts can be used as an educational tool to teach children about history, geography, science, and other subjects. Treasure hunts at school can be light-hearted like entering a new classroom, or STEM challenges like creating DIY simple machines.
  • Entertainment: Treasure hunts can be used as a fun and entertaining activity for parties, family gatherings, and other events. A birthday treasure hunt can be used to find party favorites or birthday presents. A treasure map can be used as an indoor scavenger hunt with a fun pirate theme.

Types of Treasure Hunts

There are many different types of treasure hunts, each with their own unique challenges and objectives. Some of the most popular types of treasure hunts include:

  • Scavenger hunts: Scavenger hunts are a classic type of scavenger hunt that involves searching for a list of items or clues in order to find the treasure. Participants are given a list of items or clues that they must find within a certain time limit. The items or clues can be hidden in a specific location, or they can be scattered throughout a wider area. Scavenger hunts can be done indoors or outdoors, and they can be customized to fit any theme or occasion. Participants may work individually or in teams, and the hunt can be as easy or as challenging as desired. Scavenger hunts are a fun and exciting way to engage participants, encourage teamwork and problem-solving skills, and explore new places.
  • Clue-based hunts: Clue-based hunts are a type of scavenger hunt that involves following a series of clues to find the final destination or treasure. Participants are given a clue that leads them to the next clue, and so on until they reach the final destination. Clues can be in the form of rhymping riddles, puzzles, or cryptic messages that require participants to use their problem-solving skills to decipher.
  • Geocaching: Geocaching is a type of scavenger hunt that involves using GPS coordinates to locate hidden containers called “geocaches”. Participants use a GPS-enabled device, such as a smartphone or handheld GPS unit, to navigate to the geocache location. Once the geocache or “cache” is found, participants can sign a logbook, take a trinket, or leave a trinket for the next person to find. Geocaching can be done anywhere in the world, and there are millions of geocaches hidden in various locations, from urban areas to remote wilderness areas. Geocaching is a fun and exciting way to explore new places and engage in outdoor activities while searching for hidden treasures.
  • Puzzle hunts: Puzzle hunts are another popular type of scavenger hunt that involves solving puzzles to find clues and complete the hunt. These hunts usually involve a series of complex puzzles, each of which provides a clue to the next puzzle. Similar to the tasks of an escape room, the puzzles can be a variety of types, such as word puzzles, logic puzzles, or visual puzzles.
  • Treasure map hunts: Treasure map hunts are one of the most popular types of scavenger hunts. This type of hunt involves a map that leads participants to a hidden treasure or a prize. The map may be hand-drawn or printed, and it usually contains clues or riddles that must be solved in order to find the treasure. Often X marks the spot at the end of a treasure map hunt.

Each type of treasure hunt has its own unique challenges and can be tailored to suit the needs and interests of the participants. Treasure hunts can fit a theme, occasion, or holiday.

Planning a Treasure Hunt

When planning a treasure hunt, there are several factors to consider to ensure that the event is successful and enjoyable for all participants.

how to plan a treasure hunt

Here are some important things to keep in mind:

Choosing a Location

The location of the treasure hunt is crucial to its success. The location should be safe, easily accessible, and have enough space for all participants to move around comfortably. Treasure hunts can be done indoors or outdoors. It is also important to consider the theme of the treasure hunt and choose a location that complements it. For example, a pirate-themed treasure hunt could be held at a beach or park with a nautical theme.

Determining the Number of Participants

The number of participants in a treasure hunt can affect the level of difficulty and the types of clues used. It is important to determine the number of participants beforehand to ensure that there are enough clues and prizes for everyone. It is also important to consider the age range of the participants and tailor the clues accordingly. Older kids can be paired with younger kids for challenging scavenger hunt clues. When working with larger groups, it’s important to split up into teams. Come up with a fun team name and a set of treasure hunt rules for a bit of friendly competition. Having a list of expectations for the hunters will create a clear winner at the end of the hunt.

Setting a Time Limit

Setting a time limit for the treasure hunt adds an element of excitement and urgency to the event. The time limit should be long enough for participants to complete the hunt but short enough to keep them engaged. It is also important to factor in any breaks or rest periods during hard treasure hunts that might take over the entire city or shopping center. These can be called check-ins and can be monitored by a scavenger hunt “grand marshall” or moderator.

Overall, planning a treasure hunt requires careful consideration of the location, number of participants, and time limit. This allows each scavenger hunt to be different and adaptable. By taking these factors into account, organizers can ensure that the event is enjoyable and memorable for all participants.

Creating a Treasure Hunt

how to create a fun treasure hunt for a group of kids or adults

Creating a treasure hunt can be a fun activity for any occasion, whether it’s a birthday party, family game night, holiday, or a family reunion. Here are some tips on how to create a memorable treasure hunt that will keep everyone engaged and excited.

Developing Clues

The key to a successful treasure hunt is developing clues that are challenging but not too difficult. Here are some ideas for creating clues:

  • Use riddles or puzzles that require players to think creatively.
  • Incorporate physical challenges, such as obstacle courses or scavenger hunts.
  • Use maps or directions to guide players to the next clue.
  • Make clues specific to the location, such as hiding a clue under a specific rock or tree.

It’s important to keep in mind the age and skill level of the players when developing clues. Clues that are too difficult or too easy can lead to frustration and boredom. Either plan a different set of rhyming clues or pair younger children with teenagers, parents, or older children.

Setting up the Treasure

Once the clues have been developed, it’s time to set up the treasure. Here are some tips for setting up the treasure:

  • Choose a location that is easy to find and accessible to all players.
  • Hide the treasure in a location that is not too obvious but also not too difficult to find.
  • Consider adding a secondary prize or reward for the player who finds the treasure first.
  • Make sure the treasure is age-appropriate and relevant to the theme of the treasure hunt.

Overall, creating a treasure hunt requires some planning and creativity, but the end result is a fun and engaging activity that everyone can enjoy.

Executing a Treasure Hunt

how to plan for treasure hunting

When it comes to executing a successful treasure hunt, there are a few key factors to keep in mind. In this section, we will discuss the role of a game master and ensuring safety during the hunt.

Role of a Game Master

The game master is responsible for overseeing the treasure hunt from start to finish. They are like the grand marshall of the treasure hunt. Scavenger hunt game masters are the ones who will create the clues and riddles, set up the anchor points, and provide any necessary instructions to the players.

During the hunt, the game master should be available to answer any questions that arise and provide hints if necessary. The person in charge should also keep track of the progress of each team and make sure that everyone is on track to complete the treasure hunt within the allotted time frame.

Ensuring Safety During the Hunt

Safety should always be a top priority when planning a treasure hunt. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Choose a safe location: Make sure that the location you choose is safe for all participants. Avoid areas with dangerous terrain or potential hazards. Similar to capture the flag, create a perimeter so everyone knows the treasure hunt boundaries.
  • Provide clear instructions: Make sure that all participants understand the rules of the game and any safety guidelines that need to be followed. Allow time for questions and answers before the treasure game begins.
  • Have a first aid kit on hand: In case of any accidents or injuries, it’s important to have a first aid kit available. I mean, sometimes younger kids just like bandaids – am I right?
  • Monitor the weather: Keep an eye on the weather forecast and be prepared to reschedule the treasure hunt if necessary. Some outdoor scavenger hunts can be easily adapted to indoor scavenger hunts, other times you just need to reschedule or enjoy a little bit of rainy day fun!

By keeping these tips in mind, you can help ensure that your treasure hunt is not only entertaining but also safe for all participants.

Take a game night to the next level with this fun 5-second game printable. Each fast-paced party game printable set comes with 156 five-second question cards. This equates to good fun and continuous game time for family and friends!

fun five second rule game ideas printable pdf questions

Do you love to play games with family and friends? If this is the case, then you’re going to love the challenge of 5 Second Games. This mental exercise game isn’t invented by me. However, I  do have several versions to complete the entertainment for your themed party.

What is a 5-second game?

what is a five second game and how to play

The 5 Second Game is a fast-paced and fun word association game. It requires quick thinking and fast talking. In this fun and fast-paced game, you have 5 seconds to come up with three one-word answers. Often, a five-second game is commonly mistaken as a Name 3 game. This is because you have five seconds to quickly name three things.

5 Second Games takes speed and sharp thinking to get points. They’re great for parties, family get-togethers, or just a fun way to spend some extra time with activities between transitions.

What are the 5-second rules?

The 5-second game is a good time. It’s memorable and fun for all. The instructions for this fast-paced game are simple. You have five seconds to name three things in this fun word association game. Sounds easy, right?  Well, while the questions are simple, you need to be careful. This quick guessing game leads to a tongue-tie and easy answers turn into silly answers and lots of laughter.

Generally, the rules of a 5-second game are simple. Take a look at these two options for 5-second game directions.

Objective:

Be the team or individual to score the most points by giving three answers in five seconds.

Option 1:

Sit players in a circle. The youngest player is first in the “Hot Seat,” and the play will move to the right. The player to the left of the Hot Seat player draws a game card and reads it aloud. All cards begin with “Name 3” followed by random categories. For example, the Card may read, “Name 3 ice cream flavors”. As soon as the card is read, the first player answers 3 flavors of ice cream in 5 seconds or under. If you say 3 correct answers before the timer, you get one point. To keep track of points, keep the card in front of you. If the player in the hot seat is only able to name one or two answers before 5 seconds are up, they get no points, and the play moves to the right. For the next attempt, the second player gets 5 seconds to try to answer the same question. The tricky part is that the new player in the Hot Seat cannot use any answers that were previously used for that card. Play continues to the next player and around the circle until someone can name 3 in 5 seconds and wins a point. The person to the right of the original player then becomes the new player in the Hot Seat and gets to start with a different card. The player to their left draws a Card and reads it aloud. And so the play continues.

Option 2:

Play the same as option 1 but allow the game to continue. For example, each person after the first hot seat player must name 3 ice cream flavors without repeating any flavors listed before. This can continue for a while.

The end of the game arrives when you run out of cards (or the end of the party – there are a lot of questions here!) Winners will have the most points. You can have individual winners or team winners. Just make sure you have a prize!

Tip: Consider splitting into smaller groups for a large group of people. Since ridiculous answers can be debated, consider having a game host and team captains for each group. The host (as well as the input from team captains) can help decide what is an acceptable answer and quickly omit funny answers.

What are good 5-second game questions?

five second rule questions printable cards

Five-second games require you to name three things within, you guessed it, five seconds. This requires quick thinking and fast-talking as you react quickly to incoming questions.

  • Name three countries in Europe
  • Name three famous actors
  • Name three colors of the rainbow
  • Name three items you would find in a kitchen
  • Name three members of the Avengers

The difficulty of the 5-second rule questions can vary based on the game set you choose – junior (or young kids) all the way to adults. In addition, for five-second game questions that have many answers, the question can be passed on to player after player in a game circle.

What do I need for a 5 second game?

The supplies needed for a five-second game are few. you need 5-second game questions like the ones mentioned above and a timer. It’s important that your timer displays seconds and not only minutes. Most smartphones will have a timer you can use to count down from five. if this is not available on your cellphone then pick up a countdown timer with seconds.

Instead of everyone yelling stop, consider using a sound effect when the time stops. This can be accomplished with a timer that makes noise or a game buzzer.

A laminator is an optional supply for your five-second games. If you laminate the set using laminating sheets, you can keep it for a long time. After multiple uses, your cards will still look brand new. After my husband and kids, my laminator is my best friend. A must-have in most homes!

Get ready to break the ice with a bit of mall madness! A Mall Scavenger Hunt Checklist is fun for everyone from youth, to teens, and even adults. It can be used for birthday parties, office parties, or even youth groups. Print this mall scavenger or make your own with the scavenger hunt template. Let the games begin!

awesome scavenger hunts at the mall

Mall scavenger hunts have become increasingly popular in recent years as a fun and interactive way to spend time with friends and family. These scavenger hunts typically involve teams of players racing through the mall to complete various challenges and collect items on a predetermined list.

The challenges can range from taking selfies with strangers to finding specific items in stores, and the first team to complete all the challenges and return to the starting point wins. Mall scavenger hunts are a great way to explore the mall, discover new stores, and have fun while doing it.

Reasons for a Scavenger Hunt at the Mall

Whether you’re planning a birthday party, team-building event, or just looking for a fun activity to do with friends, a mall scavenger hunt is a great option. With so many malls to choose from and endless possibilities for challenges, it’s no wonder why these hunts have become so popular.

Birthday Parties

A mall scavenger hunt birthday party is pretty epic for a birthday girl or boy. It is best for older kids, tweens, and teens. It does take a brave parent and requires forethought to establish how to do a mall scavenger hunt birthday party but with a little bit of preplanning your son/daughter will create amazing memories that people talk about forever. When creating a scavenger hunt at the mall, make sure you have party guests you trust, establish a few rules, and have several meet-up locations so you can check on the safety of all players. It’s not a bad idea to enlist the help of a few party animal adults who can join each team so the youth always have an adult with them.

Office Parties

If you are in charge of planning office parties, you know how challenging coming up with new ideas can be. Scavenger hunts are great for team-building and icebreakers for getting to know your events. Adults have to work together while doing something juvenile and silly. At your next Christmas Party, employee onboarding, or even summer celebration, try out this fun office party idea.

Youth Group Activities

Church youth groups are always looking for clean fun. If you want something a little different and out of the box, try a public scavenger hunt. This can be used as a selfie challenge or photo scavenger hunt. Players can text items they find back to a central person or everyone can spread out and the score can be tallied once everyone returns at an assigned time. Before playing, remind the youth group who they represent so they don’t run like wild cats and dogs around the mall.

How to Plan a Mall Scavenger Hunt

how to have a mall scavenger hunt

Planning is an essential part of organizing a successful mall scavenger hunt. In this section, we will discuss the three main aspects of planning: selecting a mall, creating a scavenger hunt list of items, and setting the rules.

Selecting a Mall

When selecting a mall for the scavenger hunt, it is important to consider the size and layout of the mall. The mall should be large enough to provide a variety of locations and items to search for, but not so large that it becomes overwhelming for the participants. Additionally, the layout of the mall should be easy to navigate, with clear signage and maps available.

Creating the List of Items

The list of items is a crucial component of the scavenger hunt. It should be challenging enough to keep participants engaged, but not so difficult that it becomes frustrating. It is important to include a mix of items, such as specific stores or products, landmarks within the mall, and unique or unusual items that require creativity to find.

Example Mall Scavenger Hunt Checklist might include:

  • Team with a french fry they did not buy.
  • The team posed with a mannequin.
  • The entire team wearing sunglasses.
  • With a gumball Machine.
  • The team riding the escalator.

To make the list of items more organized, it can be helpful to categorize them by location or theme. For example, items located in the food court, items related to fashion, items in a particular department store, or items that require participants to take a photo with a stranger.

To keep things simple, we have created a list of scavenger hunt items to get you started. You may edit the mall scavenger hunt list to your own mall. Having a personalized list of your local mall or even guest of honor makes the scavenger hunt quite personalized.

Setting the Rules

Setting clear rules is important to ensure that the scavenger hunt runs smoothly and safely. Rules should include guidelines for behavior, such as no running or pushing, as well as instructions for how to approach store employees and other mall patrons.

It is also important to establish a time limit for the scavenger hunt and to provide participants with a clear start and end point, as well as potential meet-up spots in between.

Finally, is this a contest with teammates and one clear winner? In this case, scavenger hunt prizes should be determined in advance, and rules for determining winners should be established. Does photographic evidence matter? Does the entire list need to be completed? Is there a bonus for the first team o finish? Etc.

Execution

Dividing into Teams

To start the Mall Scavenger Hunt, the participants should be divided into teams. The number of teams will depend on the number of participants and the size of the mall. Ideally, each team should have at least three members. It is recommended to have a team leader who will be responsible for keeping track of the clues and making sure the team stays on track. An adult is a great option for a team leader when doing this activity with tweens and younger kids.

Starting the Hunt

Once the teams have been formed, the hunt can begin. Each team will be given a list of clues and a time limit to complete the hunt. The entire team needs to stay together. The teams should start at the same time and meet back at a predetermined location at the end of the time limit. It is important to make sure everyone understands the rules and expectations before beginning the hunt.

Keeping Score

To keep the score, each team will be awarded points for each clue they find and complete correctly. The team with the most points at the end of the time limit is the winner. It is recommended to have a neutral party keep track of the scores to avoid any disputes. Before the hunt begins, consider if there are bonus points for funny photos, finding the same clue in multiple ways, or completing the treasure hunt first.

The execution of a Mall Scavenger Hunt can be a fun and exciting activity for all participants. By dividing into teams, starting the hunt, and keeping score, the participants can have a competitive and enjoyable experience filling all participants with warm memories and plenty of friendly banter. why have a museum scavenger hunt

Why Museum Scavenger Hunts Are Awesome

Museum scavenger hunts are a fun and engaging way to explore the world of art, history, nature, and culture. They are perfect for families, school groups, or anyone who wants to learn while having fun. Here are a few reasons why museum scavenger hunts are awesome:

They’re Educational

Museum scavenger hunts are a great way to learn about works of art, history, and culture. They allow participants to explore the museum’s exhibits and learn about the different pieces on display. By participating in a scavenger hunt, hunters can gain knowledge about the artworks, artifacts, and objects they encounter, and learn about the history and culture behind them.

They’re Interactive

Museum scavenger hunts are interactive, which makes them more engaging and enjoyable than just walking around the museum. Participants get to work together to solve clues and find the objects on their scavenger hunt list. This encourages teamwork, discovery, and communication and makes the experience more social and fun. They make visiting a museum a blast.

They’re Adaptable

Museum scavenger hunts can be adapted to suit different age groups and interests. For example, a scavenger hunt for children might involve finding objects that are a certain color or shape, while a scavenger hunt for adults might involve solving more complex clues, puzzles, trivia, or riddles. Scavenger hunts can also be themed around specific exhibitions or collections, making them more relevant and interesting.

They’re Affordable

Museum scavenger hunts are an affordable way to explore a museum. Many major museums offer scavenger hunts for free or at a low cost, making them accessible to everyone. They are also a great way to get more value out of a museum visit, as the entire group can spend more time exploring and learning about the exhibits. Pay attention to Smithsonian Days when many major museums offer free admission days.

Overall, museum scavenger hunts are an awesome way to explore the world of art, history, culture, and nature. They are educational, interactive, adaptable, and affordable, making them a great option for families, school groups, or anyone who wants to learn while having fun.

How to Plan a Museum Scavenger Hunt

planning a museum scavenger hunt

Planning a museum scavenger hunt can be a fun and exciting activity for groups of all ages. Here are some tips and tricks to help make your museum scavenger hunt a success:

Step 1: Choose a Museum

The first step is to choose a museum that is appropriate for your group. Consider the age range and interests of your participants, as well as the size and layout of the museum. You may also want to consider the cost of admission and any special exhibits or events that are happening at the museum. If hosting a birthday party, connect with the museum staff ahead of time and see if they have party packages. Make a reservation and be sure to set a time and place for your guests.

Step 2: Determine the Rules

Before you start planning your scavenger hunt, you need to determine the rules. Will participants be allowed to use their phones or other devices to help them find clues? Will there be a time limit for completing the scavenger hunt? Does only photo evidence count? Does everyone need to complete the entire list or are the winners the hunts that complete the most items? Go over the info prior to the treasure hunt mission. Make sure everyone is clear on the scavenger hunt rules before you begin.

Step 3: Create Clues

The next step is to create clues for your scavenger hunt. Make sure the clues are challenging but not too difficult, and that they are appropriate for the age and interests of your group. For older kids, you may want to include a mix of questions, riddles, and physical challenges.

To make your life easier, we have created an editable Museum Scavenger Hunt Printable. This means you can use the scavenger hunt template we created or make your own creating a scavenger hunt list that fits your local museum. The list is so much fun and saves you a lot of time. Plus it’s cute too.

Step 4: Map Out the Hunt

Once you have created your clues, it’s time to map out the hunt. Create a map or diagram of the museum, and mark the locations of each clue. Some museums will have a virtual map online that you can print and mark on. Then make copies to print out copies to participants. Make sure the clues are spread out evenly throughout the museum, and that they are not too close together.

Step 5: Test the Hunt

Before you launch your scavenger hunt, it’s a good idea to test it out. Have a few people try out the hunt to make sure the clues are clear and that the hunt is fun and challenging. If you cannot make a museum trip ahead of time, try a virtual tour to test out the hunt.

Step 6: Launch the Hunt

Once you have tested the hunt, it’s time to launch it. Make sure everyone is clear on the rules and the locations of the clues, and then let the scavenger hunt begin! You can provide as much information as you want ahead of time or let participants go blindly into the museum on their own.

Step 7: Decide a Prize

Will this scavenger hunt have fun awards for the winners? Come up with themed prizes or even “participation trophies” like ice cream for the entire group after the event is over. Fun scavenger hunt prizes might include…

  • Medals
  • Trophies
  • Souvenir Shop Gifts
  • Birthday Party Favors
  • Candy
  • Treats
  • Stickers
  • Sketch Pads
  • Art Kits

Planning a museum scavenger hunt can be a fun and rewarding experience. By following these tips, you can create a scavenger hunt that is challenging, engaging, and fun for everyone involved.

Girls’ night games are especially good for this, as they create a relaxed and fun environment where everyone can let their hair down and be themselves. When you do something different and out of the box, like an adult game night, you create long-lasting, positive memories. Whether you’re playing board games, card games, or video games, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to laugh, chat, and connect with the gals.

Reducing Stress

Girls’ night games can also help to reduce stress and anxiety. When you’re playing games, you’re focused on the task at hand and not thinking about your worries or problems. This can be a great way to take a break from the stresses of everyday life and recharge your batteries. Plus, the laughter and camaraderie that comes with playing games can be a great stress reliever in itself releasing endorphins. It’s like a shot of dopamine in a healthy and fun way.

Improving Mental Health

In addition to reducing stress, game nights can also have other mental health benefits. For example, playing games can improve cognitive function, boost creativity, and enhance problem-solving skills. It can also be a great way to improve mood and increase feelings of happiness and well-being.

Overall, group games are a fun and enjoyable way to spend time with friends while reaping a host of benefits for mental health and well-being. So why not plan a girls’ night in and enjoy some quality time with your besties?

Popular Girls’ Night Games

A night with the ladies is a great way to unwind, catch up with friends, and have some fun. One of the best ways to enjoy a girls’ night is by playing games. Here are some of the most popular girls’ night games that are sure to provide endless entertainment.

Card Games

Card games are a classic choice for girls’ night. They are easy to play and require minimal setup. Some of the most popular card games for ladies’ night include:

  • Cards Against Humanity: This funny game is not for the faint of heart. It involves players completing fill-in-the-blank statements with offensive or politically incorrect phrases.
  • UNO: A classic card game that is easy to learn and fun to play. The goal of this card game is to get rid of all your cards before the other players.
  • Exploding Kittens: This game is a combination of Russian Roulette and UNO. In this hilarious game, players take turns drawing cards from the deck, hoping to avoid the exploding kitten card.
  • Classic Card Games: Using a 52 deck of cards, try classic card games including Slap Jack, Crazy Eights, and Gin Rummy.
  • 5-Second Card Games: Five Second games might only get funnier as the night goes on, especially if there is drinking. Based on a provided phrase, if you can name three words in 5 seconds.

Board Games

Board games are another great option for ladies’ night. There are a wide variety of board games to choose from, so there is something for everyone. Some popular board games for groups night include:

  • Exploding Kittens: Are you into kittens and explosions? This fun card game has both. Players take turns taking cards until someone draws an exploding kitten. The rest is history. Can you get out of Exploding Kittens alive?
  • Never Have I Ever: Players will take turns listing things they have not done. Those that have done it, take a sip of their drink. This classic game can of course be played without the board, but if you need some guidance, grab the Never Have I Ever Board Game.
  • Drunk Jenga: Just like the classic Jenga game, only write fun girls night ideas on each piece. When a player pulls a piece, they must perform the action like “Take two shots!”
  • For the Girls: From the creators of “What Do You Meme?” this hilarious and challenging game has simple rules but as a girls’ expansion pack. Players will each roll a colored die and pick a card that matches the color of the die rolled. As they play, they have playing cards with questions, challenges, and riddles – which the player has to complete.

Video Games

Girls just wanna have fun! For girls who love video games, there are plenty of options for electronic games for ladies’ night. Some popular video games for girls’ night include:

  • Mario Party: Let’s go back to the OG of video games. This Mario party game involves players competing in various mini-games to collect stars and coins.

  • Just Dance: Get up and move. The Just Dance game has players competing to see who can perform the best dance moves.
  • Heads Up: This fun Head Up app game is similar to 20 questions where players try to guess the word that is on their forehead. Players can split into teams or play as individuals.

Outdoor Games

If the weather is nice, host an outdoor party. Play games under the stars with a few outdoor games. Some popular outdoor games for a fun girls night include:

  • Cornhole: A game where players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform with a hole in it. You can buy a cornhole board or make your own DIY backyard game.
  • Giant Jenga: A larger version of the classic Jenga game where players take turns removing blocks from a tower without causing it to collapse.
  • Lawn Twister: A game where players use a spinner to determine which body part and color to place on different spots on a Twister mat laid out on the lawn.

These candy dice game printable ideas and fun dice game activities are perfect for all the various holidays of the year. Not only does this activity take out the stress of picking and choosing, but it leaves a little bit of tossing the dice luck as well. Dice game printables like this can be used for all the fun holidays in a simple and organized way! Check out all the options below – and get ready to print and let the fun begin!

huge list of fun candy dice games for kids

Using dice as a way to decide the fate of an activity or game never gets dull. In fact, rolling the dice is a simple way for kids and adults can feel as though they’re part of a game without the worry of having too much pressure at the same time.

Because let’s be honest. Sometimes, it’s really hard to decide what candy to choose or what gift to pick. Those decisions can make anyone feel like they’re frozen without an option, and this is where the dice come into play! (literally!)

Forget popular games or board games like Yahtzee, Farkle, and Bunco. The next time that there is a fun holiday or event coming up where there will be choices to be made, make a few dice cookies, and don’t forget to include these dice game printables and a set of dice. The printables will give the answers to the rolls of the dice, making it a great option for everyone to participate in.

Dice Game Rules

Candy dice game rules are simple and easy to follow. In fact, the dice game candy rules are printed and ready to use. Each person gets to take a turn rolling the dice, and whatever number is shown on that dice is matched with the number on the printable.

The only control that the person has is that they get to toss or roll the dice. After that, it’s all in how the dice land! In the gift exchanges, if you roll snake eyes with the dice, then you have to do what the dice game tells you to do for rolling that number. No ifs, and, or butts!

For each dice roll it might mean that you get candy, it could mean that you give candy, or it could mean that you are skipped and have to watch everyone else having and enjoying some of their candy. It’s all in the fun of the game! (and all are in good spirits as well because every roll will have everyone guessing and waiting as to what is going to happen)

Printable Dice Game Options

While I know I’m talking about candy dice game printables, don’t forget that dice games can be used for more than just candy. This type of group game is perfect for gift-giving and receiving as well!

If you’ve ever had a white elephant Christmas exchange, then you know the excitement of getting a gift that you have no idea what it is. When you add in some dice, it takes gift-giving and receiving to a whole new level!

Supplies

The best part about using dice game printables is that you just need a few simple supplies to get started!

  • Dice
  • Paper
  • Printer
  • Downloaded Dice Game Printables

You can easily start with one and then get the rest as the year goes along. I recommend printing on cardstock and then laminating the printable game. This makes it easier to use over and over again!

How do I play dice games?

Each of the candy dice game PDFs includes instructions. However, the concept is easy in this simple game. Add a bunch of candy (or candy bars) to the center of the table. Roll the dice. Look at your number. Follow the instructions.

Sample instructions include…

  • Take one candy
  • Put one candy back
  • Give any player one candy
  • Skip your turn
  • Take one candy from any player
  • Everyone takes one candy

Players will pull from the pile of candy (or each other) until they get the specific number of candies they need to win.

Can I play dice games without dice?

You might be wondering if can you play these dice games without dice (or a dice cup.) Dice games require some type of numeric roll with a six-sided dice however if you do not have dice, there are ways around this.

It’s very easy to roll dice using a dice app on your phone, by making your own paper dice out of a printable cube template, or by using a virtual dice-rolling website.

What is the order of the game?

On the dice game, the rules are listed. However, you can make it your own. You can decide the order of players in this group game. When playing with younger kids, the first player is usually the youngest. The next player is to their left (in clockwise order) or the next youngest player. Players take turns rolling the die. The object of the game is to collect candy or candy bars. The winner of the game gets the present or the most candy.

How many players are needed for these dice games?

The number of players really doesn’t matter but anything in between 3 to 5 players will work best. If you have more than 5 players, split up players into groups and each group will play their own game. If you play with fewer than 3 players, stealing things like candy from your “play of choice” will be really silly – you keep stealing and exchanging with the same person. It will make the end of the game come really quickly. In this case, just add a number of rounds to keep the game going.

Do I need to keep score in this game?

No piece of paper is needed to track the highest score other than the printable dice games. There is no total score in these popular dice game printables. The winner will either unwrap the present or get ten pieces of candy first.  You can create variations and add up the highest total and award prizes for the most points. Make it your own game and grab a piece of paper as a score sheet if this is the die score is the direction you go. It definitely adds math into the equation (no pun intended) if you are playing math games in the classroom.

Looking for fun safari or jungle themed party games for your next wild and crazy party? Enjoy these 12 fun animal party games that you can print. Party animal birthday themed activities and printable games for toddlers, preschoolers & younger kids.

Best Jungle Party Games For Kids

Ready to get wild with some jungle party games? Celebrate like an animal with these fun ideas that are easy to plan and pull together for a party that will cause a roar. With these adventurous jungle theme party games, your guests may cause a stampede to be a part of your tribe!

Safari jungle party games are perfect for kids of all ages and can be easily tailored to whatever level of energy and excitement you want for your party. They are the best games for toddlers and younger kids but can also be tailored toward tweens and teens with just a few animal adaptions.

What is the difference between Jungle and Safari?

The difference between a jungle and a safari is primarily the environment. A jungle would be a lush green space often humid and with water. A safari would be a landscape that is often dry similar to a desert. Often a jungle is attached to tropical regions like South America and a Safari would frequently be used for dry environments like Africa.

Due to different locations and opposite climates, jungle, and safari animals are not the same. Just to name a few, safari animals include a lion, an elephant, a cheetah, a zebra, a rhino, a giraffe, an ostrich and a leopard. Alternatively, jungle animals might include monkeys, snakes, exotic birds, tigers, jaguars, and crocodiles. Animals that might overlap both environments are crocs, cheetahs, and elephants.

When planning an animal party it’s very easy to overlap safari theme party games with jungle theme party games. Luckily both include wild animals (pun in tented – meaning both your guests and the animals).

Safari Party Games

If you’re looking for some classic party games with a wild twist, try a few rounds of musical chairs set to jungle-themed music or have an animal treasure hunt where the prizes are hidden around the yard or park. Both are easy party games and honestly toddlers would love it but teens would also love both! I could just see them fighting over that last chair.

For a more active party, set up a jungle obstacle course with if you have the space or play some fun animal charades. No matter what games you choose, make sure to have plenty of prizes on hand for the winners! It can be a small prize like a piece of candy or animal-themed party favor.

Jungle Theme Party Games

If you want to go all out with a jungle theme party, then you’ll need some games that fit the bill. A few ideas include a Jungle Scavenger Hunt, where guests have to find items on a list around the party area, or a game of Jungle Jeopardy, where teams compete to answer questions about jungle animals. Just make sure you answer in question form!

For a really fun and unique party, try setting up a photo booth with jungle-themed props and backdrops. Your guests will have a blast taking photos and you’ll have some great memories to look back on! In this theme, have everyone come in costume and vote on the best animal costume. This could be great for older kids.

Kids Jungle Party Games

When creating an animal party we often think about the cake, list of guests, decorations, venue and more. One item that comes last is the party entertainment. Let’s put the play back in the party planning with some of the best group games for kids at a party.

What games should we play at a birthday?

Peel a Banana Challenge: Ready to play an a-peeling game? This funny game has players racing against the clock to see how many bananas they can peel. The only trick? You can’t use your hands! The object of the game is the game is to get the most!

Save the Baby Obstacle Course: Players will navigate through the “jungle”, avoiding obstacles and trying to reunite the baby animal to their animal mom as fast as they can. But beware! If you drop the baby, you’ll have to go back to the start. Tag the next person and continue the fun!
