How Do You Make Easter Sunday Special for Kids?

Easter Sunday is a day filled with joy and celebration, especially for kids in children’s church. Here are some creative ideas to make this day memorable and special:

  1. Easter Parades: Organize a small parade within the church premises where children can showcase their Christian Easter crafts. Children can dress in Easter-themed costumes, carry banners, and display their handmade crafts. This parade can be a colorful and joyous procession, culminating in a special Easter service.
  2. Easter Plays and Skits: Encourage children to participate in plays or skits that tell the Easter story. This can be an engaging way for them to learn and express the significance of the day. You can have different age groups present various parts of the Easter story, adding a multi-dimensional aspect to the celebration.
  3. Easter Egg Hunt: A classic activity that never fails to excite, Easter egg hunts can be organized in the church grounds or indoors. Hide eggs filled with treats, messages, or Bible verses around the church for the children to find. This can be a fun and interactive way for kids to explore and celebrate.
  4. Easter Breakfast: Host a special Easter snack, breakfast, or brunch for the children. This could include pancakes, eggs, and other kid-friendly foods. You can also incorporate an element of storytelling during the meal, where you narrate parts of the Easter story or discuss its significance.
  5. Craft Stations: Set up different craft stations where kids can make Easter-themed items like bunny masks, egg decorations, or Easter cards. These stations can be a creative outlet and also serve as a learning tool about Easter symbols and their meanings.
  6. Gardening Activity: Engage the kids in a gardening activity where they plant flowers or seeds. This can symbolize new life and rebirth, tying in beautifully with the Easter theme. Children can take home their planted pots as a reminder of the day and watch their plants grow.
  7. Bible Verse Treasure Hunt: Similar to an egg hunt, this activity involves hiding cards with Bible verses around the church. Children can hunt for these cards, and each finder can read the verse aloud to the group. This promotes learning of the Scriptures in a fun and engaging way. (Also see our Chruch Scavenger Hunt.)
  8. Easter-themed Musical Session: If you have musical talent in your church, organize an Easter-themed sing-along or music session. Children can learn and perform songs that celebrate the Easter story, which can be a joyful and uplifting experience for everyone.
  9. Easter Story Time: Have a special story-telling session where the Easter story is narrated, possibly with the help of illustrations or props. This can be an intimate and meaningful way for children to connect with the message of Easter.
  10. Community Service Project: Involve the children in a community service project, such as making Easter baskets for the needy or visiting a local nursing home. This instills values of compassion and service, reflecting the true spirit of Easter.

By incorporating these activities into your Easter Sunday celebration, children in the church can have a memorable, fun, and spiritually enriching experience.

  • A group of eager participants!

This holiday game is perfect for any Christmas gathering, whether it’s a cozy family night or a classroom holiday party. It’s easy to set up, requires minimal materials, and guarantees lots of laughter as gifts are passed back and forth!

Fun Ideas to Involve Your Christmas Elf Visitor

If your family has a Christmas elf visiting for the season, this game provides the perfect opportunity for them to join the fun! Here are some ideas on how your elf can play a role in this magical game:

  • Elf as the Gift Bearer: Imagine your elf arriving one morning with a small wrapped gift, ready for the kids to use in the Pass the Present game. They could leave a note encouraging everyone to gather around for a special surprise!
  • Elf as the Storyteller: Your elf could be found sitting with the printable game story in hand, as if they’re about to read it aloud. This adds an extra layer of excitement for the kids as they prepare to play the game.
  • Elf’s Personal Touch: To add a little extra magic, the elf could leave behind some holiday-themed wrapping paper or small trinkets to be used as the “gifts” in the game. This adds a personalized touch that your kids will love!
  • Elf Surprise Gift: After the game, the elf might leave behind a surprise gift for the winner or for all the kids to share. Whether it’s a small toy, a holiday treat, or even a sweet note, the possibilities are endless!

Does the Elf Bring Gifts?

A common question families ask is, “Does the elf bring gifts?” The answer varies depending on your family’s traditions! Some families like to keep the elf as a playful visitor who only causes a little mischief or fun, while others enjoy adding a gift-giving element to their elf’s daily appearances.

If you decide that your elf will bring gifts, here are a few ideas:

  • Small, Simple Gifts: Candy canes, holiday stickers, or mini Christmas ornaments make for great, inexpensive surprises.
  • Gifts for Group Games: Your elf could leave behind a wrapped gift to be used in a fun game like the Pass the Parcel Elf Game.
  • One Big Surprise: Some families enjoy having the elf bring one special gift on Christmas Eve or just before they say goodbye for the season.

Whether or not your elf brings gifts is completely up to you! The important thing is to make the tradition work for your family and create holiday memories filled with joy.

Why You’ll Love the Pass the Gift Elf Game

  • Simple to Set Up: All you need is a printable game sheet, a small gift, and some eager participants!
  • Perfect for All Ages: Kids, teens, and even adults can enjoy the fun of passing a gift as the story unfolds.
  • Fun for Parties or Family Gatherings: This game works wonderfully at holiday parties, classroom events, or as a new family tradition during the Christmas season.

Tips to Make It Extra Special

  • Use Multiple Gifts: For larger groups, consider using several small gifts so that more people end up with something by the end of the game.
  • Create a Festive Atmosphere: Play some Christmas music in the background, set up holiday decorations, and have some hot cocoa ready to sip on while playing the game.
  • Make It a Surprise: If you’re hosting a party, keep the gift wrapped and a mystery until the end of the game. The excitement of wondering what’s inside adds an extra element of fun!

Whether you’re planning a family game night, a festive party with friends, or a classroom holiday celebration, this printable game adds a delightful twist to the season. And for those with a holiday elf visitor, this game can easily become part of your daily holiday surprises.

What Is the Elf-Themed Candy Dice Game?

The concept is simple but loads of fun! Players roll dice and follow the instructions, which may involve passing candy, unwrapping a treat, or giving a sweet gift to someone else. The goal? Share the holiday cheer (and candy!) with everyone in a fun, interactive way. Each roll keeps the game moving, and by the end, everyone has had their fill of laughter and delicious treats.

What You Need:

  • Christmas Elf Doll
  • Our printable Elf-themed Candy Dice Game set
  • Dice (one or two)
  • A variety of small candies, chocolates, or holiday-themed treats
  • A festive spirit!

This game is designed for all ages, making it the perfect activity for both kids and adults to enjoy together. Plus, it’s super easy to set up and play—just print out the game, grab some dice and candy, and you’re ready to go!

How to Play the Candy Dice Game

  • Set Up the Game: Lay out a bowl of candy or treats in the center of the table. Each player will need access to the dice and their own handful of candy to start.
  • Roll and Play: Players take turns rolling the dice and following the instructions on the printable game sheet. Each number corresponds to a fun action—some will have you give candy to others, some will let you keep a piece for yourself, and others may have a little playful twist like trading candy or passing candy around the table.
  • Keep the Fun Going: The game continues until everyone’s had a few turns, and candy has been swapped, shared, and enjoyed! It’s a festive way to spread holiday cheer while keeping everyone entertained.

Incorporating Your Christmas Elf Visitor

If your family enjoys having a holiday elf, this game can easily fit into your elf-themed fun. Your elf might introduce the game one morning, leaving a bowl of candy and the printable game set ready to play. Here are a few ideas to make this Elf-themed Candy Dice Game even more magical:

  • Elf-Delivered Game: Your elf could arrive with the game set up and ready to play, with a note encouraging the family to gather for some sweet fun. The elf might even be holding a piece of candy or standing by the bowl as a hint!
  • Elf Takes the First Turn: For extra fun, your elf could ‘roll’ the dice first and leave a surprise on the game board. Imagine the excitement when the kids see that the elf has already started the game!
  • Candy Trail: To build up the excitement, the elf could leave a little candy trail leading to the game setup, inviting the kids to follow the treats and discover the fun dice game waiting for them.
  • Elf as a Candy Guard: Your elf might act as the guardian of the candy bowl, ensuring that only the dice rolls determine who gets the next piece!

Why You’ll Love This Elf-Themed Game

  • Fun for All Ages: This game is a hit with kids, teens, and adults alike. It’s an excellent activity to bring together different generations during the holiday season.
  • Easy to Set Up: With just a printable, some candy, and dice, you can quickly organize a game everyone will enjoy.

Make It Extra Festive

Want to go the extra mile? Here are a few more ways to make your Candy Dice Game even more special:

  • Add a Prize: Consider adding a fun holiday prize for the winner. Maybe the person with the most candy at the end gets to pick the Christmas movie for the night, or the person who shares the most candy gets a special treat!
  • Create a Christmas Playlist: Play some festive music while the game is going to keep the holiday spirit high.
  • Decorate Your Space: Add some extra Christmas decorations around the game area, such as twinkling lights, mini Christmas trees, or garlands, to make the setting even more magical.

Easter Scavenger Hunt Ideas for All Ages

How do you make Easter fun? A guided Easter Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to twist up the classic Easter Egg Hunt tradition.  With our 20 at-home scavenger hunt clues, hop through the house with Easter-themed clues using rhyming riddles.

There are a few different ways you can handle this Easter Treasure hunt. Have an Easter egg with candy at each location, have a fun little treasure or treat with your clues, or save a big Easter basket for the end of the Easter bunny treasure hunt.

Use scavenger hunts at easter with the following age groups.

  • Toddlers and Preschoolers: Younger children may need help reading the clues. Pair younger elementary-age kids with an older sibling or adult for an exciting bunny hop from one location to the next. Add interactive fun by encouraging them to “hop like a bunny” or “wiggle their noses” between clues.
  • Tweens and Teens: Older kids can enjoy more challenging riddles and tailored prizes like money, gift cards, or small gadgets. This ensures they stay engaged and excited about the hunt.
  • Adults: Why let the kids have all the fun? Create a grown-up scavenger hunt with clues leading to treats like gourmet chocolate, mini wine bottles, self-care products, or even lottery tickets.

Let’s elaborate!

Easter Scavenger Hunt for Toddlers

These Easter Scavenger Hunt clues are very appropriate for preschoolers. If you have a child who cannot read an adult or older sibling can help them read the clues and solve the Easter Scavenger hunt riddles. Have them get silly hopping like a bunny to each new location.

Easter Egg Hunt Clues for Older Child

As a mother of five, I know the older kids tend to be left out of the treasure hunt fun especially when it comes to your outdoor Easter egg hunt. Apparently no one likes to see a teen with an Easter egg basket out racing young kids. While the little kids can delight in the outside Easter Egg treasure hunt fun, allow your youth and tweens to enjoy an at home Easter Treasure hunt. Fill the teen eggs with only something they would love like make-up, new phone chargers, fuzzy socks, sour candy, or even money!

Easter Egg Riddles for Adults

Gift your spouse some inner childhood Easter fun. Use these Easter egg hunt riddles for adults instead of the kids. Fill plastic eggs with fancy candy one would never share with the kids. Alternative Easter Egg fillers for adults could also include mini alcohol bottles, socks, tie, self-care products, or even lottery tickets.

Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt

What about a fun twist? Try this alternative to Easter morning. Another fun way to twist up the traditional Easter Egg hunt is with glow in the dark eggs. You can buy glow in the dark eggs or make your own DIY glow in the dark eggs. Pair with your treasure hunt clues for a fun adventure and prize after the sun goes down.

All of these fun Easter ideas can be a scavenger hunt with eggs or without.

Easter Scavenger Hunt FAQs

Do I have to use all 20 Easter Scavenger Hunt Clues?

Not at all! Tailor the hunt to your space and audience. In the scavenger hunts with clue cards, you can split these Easter Scavenger Hunt clues. For example, if you don’t have a flower pot or the freezer is not a place you want your child to go, omit that treasure hunt card. In the Easter Story scavenger hunt, try to eliminate as few cards as possible as it tells the story of Easter with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

What are fun Easter Games?

Scavenger Hunts make fun Easter games for groups or inviduals. You can find similar content and more fun Easter game ideas. These include Easter Minute to Win it Games and Easter Party Games.

Who is this Treasure Hunt Appropriate for?

These treasure hunts can be used with toddlers, young kids, teens, and even adults. The riddles would be geared to a child, but there is no reason that an inner child cannot have fun with the Easter activity too. Pair older kids with younger kids that cannot read or solve riddles.

Do you use Easter eggs in this hunt?

The use of Plastic Easter eggs and the amount of prizes is up to you. Have an Easter egg with a treat at each clue stop or have a large prize at the end of the treasure hunt. Adapt to what works for your home, family or Easter party guests.

What are good prize ideas?

Candy is a classic choice, but mix it up with small toys, trinkets, or experience-based prizes like “movie night” or “pizza party” coupons. For example, keep it simple and prize ideas can include candy – just like your traditional egg hunt. To twist it up and personalize your hunt. Fun things to put in Easter eggs are money, stickers, socks, rings, necklaces, erasers, and small trinkets. One alternative is experiences. Write on a piece of paper like popcorn night, pizza out, go to the movie theater, etc. Your child can trade in their coupons throughout the ear for entertainment events with mom or dad. These are things you might otherwise do, anyway.

When is a good time to have a scavenger hunt?

There are many times of year you can host a scavenger hunt. Our favorite is the Birthday Scavenger Hunt leading your child to find a birthday present at each stop along the away. Also look at the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Camping Scavenger Hunt. See more here.

Pass the parcel is a fun activity to play during a birthday party or another special event. Learn how to play this gift exchange game plus print this adorable pass the parcel game with rhyming game tasks today!

how to play pass the parcel game printable

Pass the Parcel is a classic party game that has been enjoyed by children and adults alike for generations. The game involves passing a wrapped parcel (present) from person to person based on a series of directions or while music plays.  The aim of the game is to be the one holding the parcel. The person holding the parcel at the end of each round (or at the end of the game) gets to unwrap a layer of paper to reveal a small gift or prize inside.

The origins of Pass the Parcel are unclear, but it is believed to have originated in Britain in the early 20th century. The game of pass has since spread around the world and is now a popular party game in many countries. Pass the Parcel is a simple game that requires no special equipment, making it a popular choice for children’s parties and other social gatherings for adults.

Pass the Parcel is also called the left-right game as the present can jut quickly to the left and again quickly to the right. This gift exchange game can be enjoyed by people of all ages and is a great way to bring people together and create a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re playing with friends, family, or colleagues, Pass the Parcel is sure to provide low-cost entertainment and laughter. So, if you’re looking for a fun and easy game to play at your next party or gathering, why not give Pass the Parcel a try?

What is the Pass the Parcel Game?

Pass the Parcel is a game that involves a present wrapped in one or multiple layers of wrapping paper or reusable fabric bags of different sizes. A prize or gift is placed in the center of the parcel. The game is played by a group of players who sit in a circle. The parcel is passed around the circle from player to player.

How to Play Pass the Parcel Game

There are multiple versions of the Pass the Parcel gift game.  You can play this gift exchange game with music or with rhyming directions.

Musical Pass

To play Pass the Parcel with music, players must sit in a circle. The person who is hosting the party or event should start the game by playing music and passing the parcel to the person sitting next to them. Similar to hot potato only when the music stops, you want to be holding the package. When the music stops, the player holding the parcel unwraps one layer of wrapping paper. The music begins again. With each break in the music, a new layer of the parcel is unwrapped. The game continues until the final layer is unwrapped, revealing the prize or gift inside.

To make the game more challenging, the host can add additional rules, dares, or “forfeits”, such as requiring players to perform a task or answer a question before passing the parcel. This can add an element of fun and excitement to the game. In addition between each layer of the package can be a smaller gift or prize.

Rhyming Riddles Pass

Another fun version of the pass the parcel game is with a series of directions or rhyming riddles. In this game, directions are provided which where to start the package. Then as each new rhyme is read aloud, the parcel or package moves around the circle. You can have layers of the package where with each new player, a new layer can be unwrapped or you can have the package rotate the circle and at the end of the game, there is only one winner. This last person gets to unwrap the entire package.

Rhyming Pass the Parcel Game Tasks

To get a general idea of directions, take a look at these pass-the-parcel game task examples.

  • We will start this game with a little rhyme, who has known you the longest time?
  • A very important person gets to start the game, pass now to the one with the longest first & last name.
  • The first person to your right is wearing blue, Is now allowed to grab the parcel straight from you.
  • To be fair we have to share, Pass now to the person with the longest hair.
  • We know how time can get away. Pass to the one who had the most recent birthday.

Materials Needed for Pass the Parcel Game

To play Pass the Parcel, you will need the following materials:

  • Wrapping paper or reusable fabric bags
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Music player and fun music
  • Prize or gift to be placed in the center of the parcel
  • Printable Pass the Parcel Game Tasks
  • Optional: Small prizes in-between layers

Examples of smaller prizes between the layers of gift wrap can be candy bars, plastic toys, gift cards, chocolates, and lolli pops.

It is important to ensure that the wrapping paper or fabric bags used to wrap the parcel are of different designs and sizes. This will make it easier to distinguish between the different layers of wrapping paper and add an element of surprise to the game.

When Can Pass the Parcel Games Be Played?

What’s great about this gift game is there are many reasons you can play. In fact, we provide a generic list of directions for the game of pass that can played at any time, during any occasion, with any audience. However, there are variations of the game that can be played for special occasions including baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, and even holiday parties. How to Play 5 Second Games

Take a game night to the next level with this fun 5-second game printable. Each fast-paced party game printable set comes with 156 five-second question cards. This equates to good fun and continuous game time for family and friends!

fun five second rule game ideas printable pdf questions

Do you love to play games with family and friends? If this is the case, then you’re going to love the challenge of 5 Second Games. This mental exercise game isn’t invented by me. However, I  do have several versions to complete the entertainment for your themed party.

What is a 5-second game?

what is a five second game and how to play

The 5 Second Game is a fast-paced and fun word association game. It requires quick thinking and fast talking. In this fun and fast-paced game, you have 5 seconds to come up with three one-word answers. Often, a five-second game is commonly mistaken as a Name 3 game. This is because you have five seconds to quickly name three things.

5 Second Games takes speed and sharp thinking to get points. They’re great for parties, family get-togethers, or just a fun way to spend some extra time with activities between transitions.

What are the 5-second rules?

The 5-second game is a good time. It’s memorable and fun for all. The instructions for this fast-paced game are simple. You have five seconds to name three things in this fun word association game. Sounds easy, right?  Well, while the questions are simple, you need to be careful. This quick guessing game leads to a tongue-tie and easy answers turn into silly answers and lots of laughter.

Generally, the rules of a 5-second game are simple. Take a look at these two options for 5-second game directions.

Objective:

Be the team or individual to score the most points by giving three answers in five seconds.

Option 1:

Sit players in a circle. The youngest player is first in the “Hot Seat,” and the play will move to the right. The player to the left of the Hot Seat player draws a game card and reads it aloud. All cards begin with “Name 3” followed by random categories. For example, the Card may read, “Name 3 ice cream flavors”. As soon as the card is read, the first player answers 3 flavors of ice cream in 5 seconds or under. If you say 3 correct answers before the timer, you get one point. To keep track of points, keep the card in front of you. If the player in the hot seat is only able to name one or two answers before 5 seconds are up, they get no points, and the play moves to the right. For the next attempt, the second player gets 5 seconds to try to answer the same question. The tricky part is that the new player in the Hot Seat cannot use any answers that were previously used for that card. Play continues to the next player and around the circle until someone can name 3 in 5 seconds and wins a point. The person to the right of the original player then becomes the new player in the Hot Seat and gets to start with a different card. The player to their left draws a Card and reads it aloud. And so the play continues.

Option 2:

Play the same as option 1 but allow the game to continue. For example, each person after the first hot seat player must name 3 ice cream flavors without repeating any flavors listed before. This can continue for a while.

The end of the game arrives when you run out of cards (or the end of the party – there are a lot of questions here!) Winners will have the most points. You can have individual winners or team winners. Just make sure you have a prize!

Tip: Consider splitting into smaller groups for a large group of people. Since ridiculous answers can be debated, consider having a game host and team captains for each group. The host (as well as the input from team captains) can help decide what is an acceptable answer and quickly omit funny answers.

What are good 5-second game questions?

five second rule questions printable cards

Five-second games require you to name three things within, you guessed it, five seconds. This requires quick thinking and fast-talking as you react quickly to incoming questions.

  • Name three countries in Europe
  • Name three famous actors
  • Name three colors of the rainbow
  • Name three items you would find in a kitchen
  • Name three members of the Avengers
  • Name three animals that live in the sea
  • Name three body organs
  • Name three Florida cities
  • Name three English words ending in “ly”
  • Name three sports teams from different countries
  • Name three famous Michaels
  • Name three breeds of dogs

The difficulty of the 5-second rule questions can vary based on the game set you choose – junior (or young kids) all the way to adults. In addition, for five-second game questions that have many answers, the question can be passed on to player after player in a game circle.

What do I need for a 5 second game?

The supplies needed for a five-second game are few. you need 5-second game questions like the ones mentioned above and a timer. It’s important that your timer displays seconds and not only minutes. Most smartphones will have a timer you can use to count down from five. if this is not available on your cellphone then pick up a countdown timer with seconds.

Instead of everyone yelling stop, consider using a sound effect when the time stops. This can be accomplished with a timer that makes noise or a game buzzer.

A laminator is an optional supply for your five-second games. If you laminate the set using laminating sheets, you can keep it for a long time. After multiple uses, your cards will still look brand new. After my husband and kids, my laminator is my best friend. A must-have in most homes!

Discover engaging ways to teach kids The Great Commission with fun Bible crafts and activities. Parents and educators can use hands-on projects like a “Jesus is with Me” flashlight activity, a Great Commission coloring wheel, and mosaic art to help children understand and embrace their role in sharing God’s word.

how to teach the great commission to kids

Teaching the Great Commission to children is a wonderful opportunity to introduce them to the mission that Jesus gave His disciples and, ultimately, to all of us. The Great Commission is a call to action, but it can sometimes feel abstract to young minds. That’s where engaging, hands-on activities come in to help kids grasp this vital message in a way that sticks with them.

In this post, we’ll break down the basics of the Great Commission and offer creative ways for parents, teachers, and educators to teach it to kids through fun and meaningful crafts and activities that will deepen the understanding of the message. Use the ideas in discipleship and outreach, VBS, homeschooling, Sunday school, and more.

What is the Great Commission?

The Great Commission is one of the final instructions Jesus gave to His disciples before ascending into heaven. It’s found in Matthew 28:18-20, where Jesus says:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This command is often summarized as Jesus’ call to spread the gospel and make disciples. It emphasizes teaching others about God, baptizing them, and showing them how to live as followers of Christ.

Why is the Great Commission Important?

The Great Commission is significant because it is the core mission that Jesus left for His followers. It’s not just a task for adults or missionaries, but for everyone—including kids. Teaching children about the Great Commission helps them understand that they, too, can share the love of Jesus with others, whether it’s through kind words, sharing Bible stories, or simply living out their faith in everyday life.

By instilling this concept early on, kids can grow up with a heart for sharing God’s love with their friends, family, and even people across the world.

What is the Purpose of the Great Commission?

The purpose of the Great Commission is to spread the message of salvation to all people. Jesus commanded His disciples to teach others about God’s love and His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. It’s not just about spreading information—it’s about transforming lives through the power of the gospel.

When kids learn the Great Commission, they begin to see how they can be a part of God’s plan to reach others. It also gives them a sense of purpose and helps them understand that their faith is something to be shared.

Where is the Great Commission Found?

matthew 28 the great commission in the bible

The Great Commission is most famously found in Matthew 28:18-20.

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

However, similar calls to spread the gospel are also mentioned in other parts of the New Testament:

  • Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
  • Acts 1:8: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

These passages show that the call to share the good news of Jesus is a central theme in the New Testament and an ongoing mission for all believers.

The Great Commission Coloring Wheel

The Great Commission Mosaic Art Craft

Let kids get creative while reflecting on the message of the Great Commission by making a mosaic of the Earth (on Etsy too), reminding them that Jesus’ command is to reach the whole world. Print these globes on paper and decide on one of the following crafts. Choose a simple craft for preschool with coloring or a more complex activity using cut-up cardstock or construction paper for older kids.

Coloring Option

For younger kids, provide an Earth outline they can color with green and blue crayons. This is a simple activity that helps improve fine motor skills while reflecting on the message of going into the world.

Tissue Paper Option

For a more tactile experience, have kids glue 1-inch x 1-inch pieces of green and blue tissue paper onto the Earth outline sheet of paper. This creates a fun, textured look while reinforcing the Bible lesson.

Mosaic Option

For older children, provide blue and green cardstock pieces cut into various shapes. They can cut paper themselves and place them in a pile at the center of the table. Let them glue these pieces onto the commission globe, creating a beautiful mosaic. This option helps kids develop patience and creativity while thinking about their role in sharing the gospel with the world.

Final Thoughts on Teaching the Great Commission to Kids

Teaching the Great Commission to kids doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By using fun, hands-on activities like the ones listed above, parents and educators can make this important biblical message both understandable and memorable for children.

Remember, kids are never too young to start learning about their faith and how they can share God’s love with others. With these crafts, you’re not only teaching them about the Great Commission but also empowering them to live it out in their own lives.
