You can read more about grilling in your oven on WikiHow.

Remember, if you’re using wooden skewers, soak them for at least 30 minutes before grilling to keep them from catching fire and burning.

Puff Pastry Asparagus Recipe

March 27, 2021 by administrator Filed Under: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Recipe, Social Media Leave a Comment

Rich and flaky puff pastry wrapped around asparagus and baked to perfection! Try our take on a classic asparagus tart that the whole family will love. This recipe is by far the most delicious way to enjoy asparagus.

Puff Pastry Asparagus Recipe

Over the years, my kiddos have gotten better at eating their vegetables. Back in the day I used to search for recipes that would both delight their taste buds and add some veggie goodness to their plates. It’s always a win in my book when they clear their plates and eat every last bit of their greens. The CDC recommends that children get 1-3 cups of vegetables per day, depending on their age and other factors. Meanwhile, us adults need 5-13 servings. That’s a lot! Based on these recommendations, picky kids aren’t the only ones who can benefit from creative ways to eat vegetables. I love keeping all kinds of veggie recipes on hands to keep the green part of our plates interesting at the dinner table.

These puff pastry asparagus roll-ups are just plain delicious. Full stop. I mean, come on — the combination of the butter, flaky puff pastry dough with tender roasted asparagus is enough to make my mouth water. The great thing about this recipe is that they can be made for any occasion. They make an impressive party food, they’ll wow guests at dinners, and they’re quick and easy enough to make for your family on weeknights. Plus, you can even get the kids in the kitchen to help! Their little hands would be great for rolling the asparagus up in the dough. I’m totally a sucker for recipes that can get the whole family involved.

The cheese makes these puff pastry asparagus roll-ups over-the-top delicious. I feel like I could add cheese to anything, and my kids would get excited about it. I used an Italian cheese blend, but you could substitute parmesan, mozzarella, or even white cheddar in a pinch. Any sharp white cheese complements this dish perfectly. You can even grate more cheese on top when they’re still hot after you take them out of the oven. YUM!

Can you swap out crescent rolls for puff pastry?

Absolutely! Crescent roll dough is a perfect substitute if you don’t have puff pastry on hand. They are basically pre-cut versions of puff pastry, and have more flavor, too! Even if you do have puff pastry, I recommend you try this recipe out with a can of crescent roll dough at some point to mix things up. My whole family loves Pillsbury crescent rolls, and I’m sure your family won’t complain either!

How do I bake puff pastry?

A good rule of thumb when baking puff pastry is to not over-handle the dough. You will only need to roll it out gently to get the desired thickness, so make sure you don’t overdo it. If you mess with the dough too much, it could turn out dense and tough instead of light and flaky, so keep that in mind! I like having the kids help me with this recipe, but sometimes it’s best if I do the rolling out and the kids are in charge of wrapping them up in the rectangles of dough. When you’re checking the puff pastry asparagus for doneness, look for a light golden color on the pastry. That’s how you’ll know they are perfectly baked!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound asparagus (about 12 asparagus), trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 (17.3 ounce) box puff pastry, thawed (or use Crescent Rolls)
  • ½ cup shredded Italian cheese blend
  • 1 egg, beaten

White Bread – Bread Machine Recipe

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

March 6, 2021 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Printable, Recipe, Social Media 4 Comments

Calling all bread lovers! Skip the store-bought loaf and make this easy and delicious bread machine white bread. This is the best bread machine recipe for white bread out there. Ah, I can almost smell the fresh bread baking now…

White Bread Bread Machine Recipe

Best Bread Machine White Bread Recipe

I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for all things bread, especially when it’s freshly baked! There’s nothing like slicing through a loaf of bread that’s still warm and slathering a piece with butter or your favorite jam. While most people were at home during the past year, I noticed that making bread from scratch became a popular activity. Some loaves, especially sourdough, can take days or even weeks to perfect. I’m sure that the payoff is delicious, but as a busy mom, I prefer using our bread machine to make homemade bread!

This bread machine recipe for white bread will quickly become a staple in your house. The recipes that come with bread makers sometimes yield a dense bread that’s less than appetizing. I prefer to use my own recipes, like this bread machine white bread recipe. It creates a fluffy bread that still holds up — aka, the best of both worlds! Basically, it’s everything white bread should be. I love to use this white bread for everything, from buttered toast in the morning to hearty sandwiches at lunchtime. Make a loaf on Sunday and enjoy it all week long — or as long as your family takes to devour it! Here’s a pro tip: if your bread starts to get a bit stale, use it to make your own croutons or breadcrumbs!

Do you have to use bread flour to make this bread?

Using bread flour in this bread machine white bread recipe is important to get the right texture. However, you can substitute all-purpose flour if you’re in a bind. Since all-purpose flour has a lower protein content than bread flour, the texture won’t be exactly the same, but the bread will still taste delicious! I’d recommend that you keep a bag of bread flour in your pantry for all of your bread-making needs. That way, you have the right supplies locked and loaded whenever the craving for some homemade bread hits.

Is a bread machine worth the money?

I can’t speak for everyone out there, but I personally LOVE my breadmaker. Store-bought bread is nothing compared to freshly baked bread, and it’s a luxury to have homemade bread around the house without having to spend all day in the kitchen. With a bread machine, you don’t have to wait to let your bread rise or knead the dough. Just add your ingredients, select the setting, and in a few hours, your loaf is done! Plus, if you have to make large quantities of bread for your family or an event, a bread machine is definitely the way to go. All in all, my breadmaker was totally worth it. If you’ve been holding back on investing in a bread machine, this is your sign to take the plunge!

It’s really easy to whip up this strawberry cake mix recipe just before the party guests arrive. You could make it a little ahead of time too, and store it in the fridge until everyone is ready to eat.

Mocha Coffee Bombs

Have you tried hot chocolate bombs? They are the newest food trend. We couldn’t stop with hot cocoa, we had to make the best coffee bombs too. Mixing chocolate and espresso, these mocha coffee bombs hit the sweet spot.

The Best Coffee Bombs

I remember the first time I was introduced to fusion food. It was the early 2000s and I recall going to a restaurant that mixed all sorts of flavors together. I do not recall the meal, very well, but I do remember the still water was $4 – isn’t that crazy? I also recall that the dessert was a hamburger made with chocolate and a donut. The restaurant didn’t make it long (perhaps because of the expensive water, perhaps because it was a little ahead of it’s time for the area I lived), but my love of fusion was built during that time.

When I think of coffee bombs and hot chocolate bombs, I think of fusion food. It is mixing something creative and unique and creates a beautiful display – sometimes too beautiful to enjoy or eat. Since I love chocolate drinks, but don’t drink hot chocolate enough, I wanted to create my love of chocolate with my love of a need – coffee.

What is a coffee bomb?

To first answer what is a coffee bomb, you must know what is a chocolate bomb? A coffee bomb, similar to a chocolate bomb, is a round hard shelled chocolate ball with instant coffee inside. When added to hot milk it breaks apart and creates a Mocha Coffee. Chocolate bombs and coffee bombs are fun recipes you can make at home that are excellent for gift giving.

If you love Coffee, you likely love Starbucks. Look at our Starbucks Inspired Chocolate Bombs too!

Mocha Coffee Bombs

With instant espresso powder and some hot milk, you can create your own chocolate latte bomb in a matter of seconds. The hardest part is the prep but we promise that taste is well worth the effort!

Makes 6 bombs
Prep time: 30 minutes
Setting time: 4 hours

Coffee Bomb Ingredients

  • 1 12-ounce package dark chocolate chips
  • 6 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • ¼ cup white melting chocolate
  • 6 cups hot milk to make the bombs

In addition to the Mocha Coffee ingredients, you will also need a round silicone mold.

Gift giving?  Have these plastic chocolate bomb containers for gifting coffee chocolate bombs.

Coffee Bomb Recipe Directions

It is really easy to make Coffee Hot Chocolate Bombs. Follow the following directions to get your started.

First, place one 12-ounce package of dark chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the dark chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate chips are fully melted.

Next, take a spoonful of melted chocolate inside a half circle of the silicone mold. Use the back of the spoon to spread the chocolate up the sides of the rubber mold. Continue this process until all the molds are coated (approximately 12 half circles).

Set the remaining melted chocolate aside for sealing and decorating the bombs.

Allow the chocolate in the molds to set completely, around 2 to 3 hours. You can speed up the process by placing the chocolate in the refrigerator.

When the chocolate is set, remove each of the chocolate pieces from the mold. Add around one tablespoon of instant espresso powder in each piece.

Reheat the dark chocolate in the bowl in 15 second intervals until melted. Pick up an empty chocolate piece and dip the edges into the melted chocolate. Carefully place it on top of a filled piece and lightly press it into place. Using your finger, smooth melted chocolate around the seam. Continue until all the chocolate bombs are sealed.

Melt the white chocolate according to the package instructions, then place the melted white chocolate into piping bags. Lightly drizzle white chocolate over the top of the bombs to decorate.

Allow the chocolate decorations to set before using, around 1 hour.

To make the mocha bombs, place the bomb in the bottom of a mug. Pour one cup of hot milk over the top of the bomb to melt the chocolate. When the chocolate is completely melted, stir to combine.

Enjoy or wrap in hot chocolate bomb plastic containers for Hot Chocolate Bomb gift giving.

I have a list of ingredients below for meat and cheese snacks in a jar, but you can substitute other meats or sides depending on what the crowd you are feeling likes. You could also make an all-fruit snack in a jar, if you wish.

One simple charcuterie board jar can feed one adult or two kids, so make sure you make enough jars up for snack time!
