copycat chick-fil-a home-tyle mac and cheese recipe

Oh man! Second to the chicken, one of the biggest gifts Chick-fil-A has given us is the Chick-fil-A Mac and Cheese. I had the privilege of sampling Chick-fil-A’s Macaroni and Cheese at a private dining when this yummy goodness hit the market. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical before arrival (there isn’t much that can pull me away from Chick-fil-A Waffle Fries) but you guys, this side decision is going to be a hard one. It was incredibly tasty and reminded me of my own Home-Style Macaroni and Cheese recipe.

If you love a classic macaroni side dish, this one is easy and oh so tasty. It’s a simple recipe that you can make as an entrée from your family any night of the week. It also has easy prep if you want to prepare everything and then store it in the freezer for another day. I love freezer meals you can grab and go!

Calling all Starbucks fans! You’re not going to want to miss out on this Starbucks Chocolate Bomb recipe! Why spend a ton at the store when you can make them at home for a fraction of the cost? With just six simple ingredients needed, you can’t go wrong with this easy and delicious treat.

STARBUCKS CHOCOLATE BOMB

I’m a huge fan of literally anything with the words chocolate and Starbucks. But combined? I’m over-the-moon crazy about this simple treat. So much so that I find myself making this easy hot cocoa bomb recipe all year long.

Because why wouldn’t you want to have a treat that is all your own? I love Starbucks and being able to have a bit of “me” time and make something that I don’t have to share. (don’t judge me – I literally share everything else all the time!)

The other really great thing about this simple hot chocolate bomb is that it’s an awesome gift idea, too. Make these up for a family member, friend, teacher, or coach. Use these fun “Thanks a Latte” gift tags as a way to spruce up the gift and complete the look!

HOW DO YOU USE HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS?

There are a couple of different ways that you can use them. I prefer to put them in the bottom of my mug and cover them with warm milk, but some people use hot water instead. (I think it’s to cut down on the fat content but in my opinion, the milk adds a much-needed and delicious sweetness!)

HOW DO YOU STORE HOT COCOA BOMBS?

They’re actually quite shelf-stable! You can put them in a container with a lid and store them for a few weeks without worry. Although I highly doubt that they’d hang around that long, waiting to be enjoyed.

WHERE TO BUY HOT COCOA BOMBS

While I highly suggest making them homemade, you can also buy them to save time, too. Some of the best places that I recommend buying hot chocolate bombs are:

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS AMAZON

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS ALDI

HOT COCOA BOMBS COSTCO

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS WALMART

HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS TARGET

ETSY HOT CHOCOLATE BOMBS

All are going to be different flavors and looks so you’ll have a ton of great choices to choose from.

For even more awesome DIY hot chocolate bombs, don’t miss out on this massive Chocolate Bombs list!

Tips for making the best southern peach sweet tea: Make sure you crush the peaches while stirring them in the pot and add the sugar while the syrup is hot. This helps the sugar dissolve well and creates a sweeter tea. Also, the secret ingredient is adding a pinch of baking soda while you’re brewing the black tea bags.

FAQ’s:

Why add the baking soda?

This secret ingredient actually helps reduce the bitter flavor (the tannens) from the tea bags, helping create a smoother, slightly less bitter end product.

What is Sonic sweet tea sweetened with?

They offer 2 options. A Sonic sweet tea that has a sugar syrup base, or a sugar free option that is sweetened with Splenda.

Is Sonic tea brewed?

Yes. Their teas, whether they are black tea or green tea, are brewed fresh daily.

How many tea bags do you use for a gallon of sweet tea?

That can depend on the quality of tea you’re using, how strong you want it, etc. The recommended amount varies but it is approximately eight to ten single cup tea bags or three to four family size tea bags.

How much sugar does Sonic put in their sweet tea?

A medium-sized sweet tea has about 45 grams of sugar.

What is the difference between sweet tea and sweetened tea?

There is not much difference. Sweet tea is typically brewed with sugar then has more sugar added to it, creating a slightly sweeter tea. Sweetened tea is usually just sweetened after it has been brewed and taken off the heat.

Valentine Love Shack Recipe Directions

These recipe directions can be adapted to your own style. We are sharing how we decorated our Gingerbread Home, but style to your own taste.

First, lightly frost the cake platter with a spatula.

Break three graham crackers in half width wise.

Next, fill a decorating bag halfway with frosting and another one half way but with a star tip in the end of the bag.

Frost the two longer sides and the bottom of the four graham cracker pieces and stick them to the frosted cake platter in the shape of a house.

Then frost the other two graham cracker squares on the two longer sides and stick them on top of the house for the roof.

Carefully cut two triangles with a plastic knife to fit inside the front and back of the roof.

Frost the three triangles sides and stick them onto the frost and back of the roof.

Use the star decorating tip to make a ruffled border on all the edges and top with sprinkles.

If you want, this is a good time to set your house in the refrigerator.

When then decorated our house. You can follow our steps.

Use the frosting to stick a heart gummy to the front and back of the love shack.

Use the mini Starburst to make a path to the love shack by sticking them to the cake platter.

Frost your roof and tile it using the mini Starburst.

Fill in the triangles with frosting and coat with candy heart sprinkles.

Finally, use M&M’s for decorating the edges of the house.

Tips for Decorating your Gingerbread House

The easiest way is to make sure you allow enough time for the icing to set up on the graham cracker until hardened so your structure is sturdy before you start decorating with the candy pieces. It is important to follow the directions in the steps laid out above.

Also, if you decide to bake your own gingerbread house pieces, make sure you bake them on parchment paper. And mix up a royal icing recipe to use as the walls and roof will be heavier.

Another great tip! If you decide to bake your own walls and roof pieces, you can choose lighter colored walls by using light corn syrup and light brown sugar, or darker walls by using darker corn syrup and dark brown sugar.

FAQs

Are you supposed to eat a gingerbread house after you build it?

Definitely! That’s part of the fun. Knowing you can dig into the house all at once or enjoy a few pieces over time until the gingerbread house candy is gone. You can even start in on the gingerbread houses walls and eat those as well. These sweet treats are made to be consumed and contain only edible materials.

What do gingerbread houses symbolize?

Typically, they symbolize the Christmas holiday. Ginger was first used in making ginger snap cookies and these cookies began as a tool for artistic talent and creativity. They were decorated with icing and eventually candy. Over time the gingerbread house tradition was born. Thus, making the house something not only artistic and fun, but also delicious to eat.

Is a gingerbread house religious?

Today not so much. It is associated with the religious Christmas holiday and is used in holiday decor but is not necessarily a religious practice. In the early days of using gingerbread, it was used in religious ceremonies because it was a hardy, firm cookie. Over time it has changed and nowadays, it is quite normal to create gingerbread houses for all types of non-religious holidays. Valentine’s day houses and Halloween houses are also being created.

What is National Gingerbread House Day?

It is a holiday celebrated yearly on the 12th of December. This celebration is two-fold: because gingerbread houses go hand-in-hand with the winter months and because it is the best time of year to enjoy gingerbread house festivals, competitions, the Christmas Holiday and special family time.

Easy Air Fryer Recipes for Beginners

Looking to start off the new year on the right foot? Got an air fryer as a gift over the holidays and curious as to what you can make with it? Take a look at these crave-worthy, easy air fryer recipes for beginners. Conveniently enjoy healthy recipes that are juicy on the inside, with the perfect texture of crispy on the outside!

Easy Air Fryer Recipes for Beginners

Easy Air Fryer Recipes for Beginners

During Christmas 2017, I jumped on the Instant Pot bandwagon only to use it maybe twice. Ever. It’s a great appliance, but I just find myself loving the slow cooked goodness of the Crock-pot. This past Christmas, I had every intention to jump on the air fryer bandwagon too, but as the mom of a family of seven, I could not find a good deal on a fryer big enough for our family (if you are a large family, PLEASE let me know the air fryer that is best for a family this large!) So despite my cart still holding my air fryer, I began to get together some easy recipes for our family. After all, a girl can dream — isn’t that what Pinterest is for?

Healthy Air Fryer Recipes

There were so many recipes I was excited about that were easy and great for beginners. Did you know there’s a slew of air fryer pizza recipes out there? Not to mention air fryer salmon recipes? Yum! I was so inspired by a food blogger who even made eggplant dip in the air fryer! I also was inspired by all the air fryer chicken recipes, air fryer wings to chicken nuggets. And for my veggie lovers, air fryer Brussels sprouts! And this isn’t even beginning to scrape the surface of the air fryer dinner recipes your appliance can make!

Is the Air Fryer healthier than the oven?

The recent spike in popularity for the air fryer naturally prompts the debate of “air fryer vs oven”. While using the air fryer is far healthier than deep frying the traditional way, like using your air fryer to make french fries or fried chicken instead of deep frying, the air fryer unit simply gets so hot that it gets food super crispy without having to add any oil. So, your air fryer is basically like an oven, but way hotter! This means it’s not necessarily any healthier than using your oven. That being said, the air fryer’s heat capability makes it far more efficient to create delicious “fried” dishes without having to wait forever for them to get crispy. As a busy mom, my air fryer has quickly become my favorite appliance for creating delicious dishes my family loves in way less time!

Enjoy all these recipes and let me know your family’s favorite!

Air Fryer Times & Temps Cheat Sheet

First of all, if you’re new to the air fryer, this Air Fryer Cheat Sheet is a must have. It’s got all the info you need to make amazing air fryer dinner recipes  in one spot. I keep a copy of these Air Fryer Tips in my Recipe Binder. (Another suggestion would be to laminate this cheat sheet and keep it beside your air fryer. Laminating this air fryer tip guide will keep it clean and make it easy to wipe any kitchen mess off.)

AIR FRYER CHEAT SHEET DIGITAL DOWNLOAD
We also provide an easy set of three – Instant Pot, Air Fryer and Baking Hack cheat sheets all in one! See more in our Baking Hacks and Tips.

You could also grab this magnetic Air Fryer Cheat Sheet to keep it on the side of your air fryer at all times!

Five Air Fryer Accessories

Beyond that Air Fryer Hack Sheet, you will also want to invest in these Air Fryer Accessories.

First, you’ll need this Evo Oil Sprayer Bottle for more than your Air Fryer. Mine is practically attached at the hip when I’m in the kitchen. It’s refillable, so you can use it with any brand of olive oil you have on hand.

Second, this digital internal temp reader is the best way to test if your food is ready. This is a must in the kitchen, not just for the air fryer.

Third, I am all for easy clean up. I much prefer cooking and letting someone else clean up my mess, unless it fits in the dishwasher! These Air Fryer Liners will keep the mess under control. You’re welcome in advance!

Fourth, get something to cut potatoes into waffle fries or string fries. Air fryers are the absolute best way to get your french fry fix without all the extra calories! Here’s a commercial grade french fry cutter, a hand held french fry cutter, and the potato cage of cutting (trust me, you’re going to want to check this one out!)

Finally, a good pair of tongs are a must in my kitchen. These are hands down the BEST tongs ever — OXO Good Grips 9-Inch Locking Tongs with Nylon Heads. They store so well because of how they lock (as in, they won’t get your drawer stuck!)

Create the easiest Air Fryer Pizza in about 10 minutes flat. It creates a quick and easy pizza that is perfect for the kids on Friday night. This Texas toast pizza has 4 simple ingredients.

Air Fryer Pizza Recipe

Pizza is a popular food all around the world, with variations in toppings and sauces. Nowadays, there are even gluten-free and vegan pizza options! But one of my favorite things to do lately is make air fryer pizzas.

With an air fryer you can get that crispy crust without having to use a ton of oil or cook it for hours on end. This recipe makes three personal-sized mini pizzas but if you want to feed more people then just double the ingredients below. It’s super easy and quick – I promise it won’t take more than 15 minutes from start to finish!

Why Cooking Pizza in the Air Fryer is Better

The air fryer has been trending for a while now, but it’s not just the latest and greatest kitchen gadget. It cooks your food in a more healthy way than traditional ovens. Air frying uses less oil, making the food crispier and healthier because there is no added fat to create that delicious crunchy crust.

And when you use an air fryer to make pizza dough or pizza sauce, you’re also using less oil since those ingredients are typically baked on parchment paper. This air fryer garlic toast pizza recipe goes from the air fryer to the table in just minutes. Pizza night will never be the same again!

Air Fryer FAQs

As with most things when a new trend pops up there’s confusion around it. Here are some answers to questions you might have:

  • Can you fit a pizza in the air fryer? Absolutely! The air fryer is a great way to make personal-sized pizzas. You can fit two or three mini pizzas depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • How long does it take to cook pizza in the air fryer? Unlike a traditional oven, the air fryer doesn’t take as long to cook your food. If you’re making mini pizzas they’ll only take about 5-8 minutes. The actual cook time depends on the thickness of your pizza dough, so be sure to check it after about five minutes of cooking time.
  • Is frozen pizza good in air fryer good? Yes! You can use any frozen pizza in your air fryer, whether it’s gluten-free or vegan.
Can you put aluminum foil in an air fryer? Yes, you can use aluminum foil in most air fryers. However, you need to be careful not to scratch the non-stick coating of your air fryer. If you don’t use aluminum foil then be sure to spray the basket lightly with non-stick cooking oil or use parchment paper.
  • Do I need to clean my air fryer after every use? Yes, it’s necessary to clean your air fryer after every use to make sure it functions properly. Be sure to wipe out any excess oil that might have spilled over or dried to the side of the basket.

Toy Story Party Printable – Buzz Lightyear Float

grape soda floats

Anyone ready for Toy Story 4? It’s hard to believe the original Toy Story was released in November 1995. I was in 8th grade and I seriously would have thought it was a movie that was released closer to the ages of my kids! I think the fact that it still holds love by so many, just goes to show it’s a classic that will be around for a long time.

Last Halloween, our family was the cast of Toy Story. It all started out with the Woody and Buzz Lightyear pajamas that I got the twins. Then we all created a costume around the twins first Halloween.

Toy Story Costume

I love doing themed things when it comes to the twins and the best friends of Woody and Buzz, fit perfectly. In order to dream about a future celebration for our Woody and Buzz, we created some Toy Story printables for your next party Toy Story Party including the straw toppers and sherbet grape punch recipe.

  7. On the left column, choose add file.
  8. Select upload.
  9. Select done.
  10. Give your job a name.
  11. Make sure your project is single sided. The orientation should be portrait.
  12. I changed my media to 8.5×10 and the media to 67 lb cover stock (I prefer a card stock feel over printer paper feel.)
  13. Select add to cart.
  14. Proceed to checkout. You can choose to ship to your home or to pick up at your local store. Pay online and show your invoice when you pick up (I just show the order number on my phone at pick-up.) The order invoice will arrive in your email inbox.
  15. Enjoy!

*Note: these Staple print service steps were added in Summer 2019 The directions may change as the website changes. They should give you a general outline of how to upload and order a print on Staples.com.
