The trio of Elf Mates are closely associated with everyone’s favorite Elf on the Shelf, a children’s book that has become a cultural phenomenon. There are three Elf Mates: the Toy Maker, the Chef, and the Cobbler, each with a unique personality and mission to spread kindness and cheer during the holiday season. Let’s learn more about these Elf companions!

who are elf mates and elf on the shelf

Elf Mates are a beloved Christmas tradition that has been gaining popularity in recent years. An Elf Mate is an adoptable elf that partners with children to help Santa Claus bring back the true spirit of Christmas. Armed with a magical golden heart and a special mission from St. Nick, each Elf Mate proves they are Santa’s truest pals by reminding us all why it is better to give than to receive.

Elf Mates are closely associated with The Elf on the Shelf, a children’s book that tells the story of how Santa Claus sends a Scout Elf to watch over children during the Christmas season. The Elf on the Shelf has become a cultural phenomenon, with millions of families adopting the tradition of hiding the elf in different places each day to create a sense of magic and excitement during the holiday season.

But guess what, these Elf dolls were not always associated with the Scout Elf company. In fact, these workshop elves first originated from Dollar General. They gained popularity quite quickly, and in true Elf adoption fashion, the CCA&B (aka Elf on the Shelf company) quickly adopted these lovely friends into their line-up of Elf on the Shelf characters.

There are three Elf Mates: the Toy Maker, the Chef, and the Cobbler. Each Elf Mate has a unique personality and mission, but all three are united in their desire to spread kindness and cheer throughout the holiday season. The Toy Maker creates toys to donate to children in need, the Chef bakes treats to share with those who are less fortunate, and the Cobbler collects shoes and clothing to donate to those in need. Together, they remind us all that the true spirit of Christmas is about giving, not receiving.

I have a feeling that we will not be seeing the last of Elf mates and this cute adorable trio. As these triplets gain even more popularity, you will begin to see the rise of other Elf companions. This might include Baby Elves, more girls elves, elves of different races, or even the rumored new generation of Elf Mates….

This new generation of Elf companions, Enchanted Forest Elf Mates, are leaving the Enchanted Forest to help Santa share the secret of the true spirit of Christmas around the world—kindness and generosity to all! The Enchanted Forest Elf Mates are known for the magical heart on their collar, the swipe of color in their hair, and the glittery freckles on their cheeks! Be on the lookout!

In addition to purpose, Elf Mates are different than Elf on the Shelf in that they are slightly smaller and can be touched. Elf Mates are about an inch smaller than Elf. Unlike Elf on the Shelf, Elf Mates come with velcro on their hands so Elf Mates’s hands easily connect. Elf on the Shelf does not come with velcro on their hands though you can use an Elf kit to add velco. Elf Mates are not wired.

Here’s a brief overview of the original three Elf Mate friends:

Chef encourages children to share their favorite recipes with friends and family too. He uses food as a way to spread kindness and remind kids to give something to those who need something yummy.  The Elf Chef Mate is known for his delicious recipes and his ability to make any dish look and taste amazing.  Chef proves that food is not just nourishment for the body but also for the soul.

Elf Mates Toy Maker

The Elf Mates Toy Maker is a creative genius who loves to make toys. The Elf Toy Maker Mate is known for his incredible imagination and his ability to turn any idea into a toy. He is a creative and imaginative elf who inspires children to spread joy through play. The Toy Maker Elf Mate encourages children to share their toys with friends and family and to donate toys to those in need. With his magical golden heart, this creator proves that toys are not just objects but also a source of happiness and imagination.

Elf Mates Cobbler

The Elf Mates Cobbler is a kind and caring elf who encourages children to put themselves in other people’s shoes. He inspires kids to put themselves into others’ feelings, situations, and roles and recognize their struggles while also being grateful for what they have – an excellent reminder for the Thanksgiving season when Elf returns.  The Elf Cobbler Mate reminds us to be grateful for what we have and to share warmth with others by donating shoes, clothing, and other essential items to those in need. With his magical golden heart, the Cobbler proves that it is better to give than to receive. The Cobbler Elf Mate is a kind soul who loves to help others.

Each Elf Mate comes with a magical golden heart and a special mission from St. Nick. They prove that they are Santa’s truest pals by reminding us all why it is better to give than to receive. Each Elf Mate has a unique mission to help Santa Claus and inspire children to spread kindness and joy during the holiday season.

Elf Mates in Literature and Media

trio of elf dolls called elf mates

In addition to the trio of elf dolls, you might have a desire to extend the lessons and ideas through media like books and film.

Elf Mates in Books

Elf Mates have been featured in several books that encourage kindness and good deeds. One such book is “Elf Mates: The Story of Elf Mates,” which explains how Elf Mates help Santa by inspiring acts of kindness and cheer. The Elf book is an enchanting 16-page soft-cover book that is perfect for children. It comes with a single or three-pack bundle that includes all three Elf Mates (Chef, Toy Maker, and Cobbler).

Elf Mates in Films

As of right now, Elf Mates have not been featured in films. You can see a list of Elf on the Shelf Characters featured in films.

Overall, Elf Mates are beloved characters in literature and media that encourage kindness and good deeds so they would be excellent for film: the non-Hollywood type! Whether in books or films, Elf Mates remind us all of the true spirit of Christmas and the importance of giving to others.

They are huggable and playable, and they come in different professions such as Chef, Toy Maker, and Cobbler. Each Elf Mate has a unique personality and role in Santa’s workshop. Elf on the Shelf Treasure Map printable

Elf on the Shelf has become a beloved holiday tradition for many families. The concept is simple: a small elf doll is placed around the house each day in December, and children are encouraged to find it. The idea is that the elf is reporting back to Santa on the child’s behavior, so it’s a fun way to encourage good behavior in the lead-up to Christmas as well as promote the Christmas spirit!

But what if you want to take Elf on the Shelf to the next level? That’s where the Elf on the Shelf Treasure Hunt comes in. This is a fun twist on the traditional Elf on the Shelf game that adds an extra layer of excitement and challenge.

You can host an Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt where instead of simply finding the elf, children are given 22 Christmas-themed rhyming clues that lead them on a hunt around the house. The final clue leads them to the location of the elf, and they get a special prize for solving the puzzle. Alternatively, just like a pirate, you can offer your kids a fun Elf on the Shelf treasure map where children find different things around the home. This seek and find Elf on the Shelf hunt can be very challenging or quite easy – you determine based on the ability and age of the child.

The Magic of Elf on the Shelf

Elf on a Shelf is a beloved holiday tradition that has captured the hearts of children and adults alike. The magic of Elf on the Shelf lies in the excitement and anticipation that it brings during the holiday season.

For those unfamiliar with the tradition, Elf on the Shelf involves a small elf doll that arrives at a family’s home in early December. The elf is said to have come from the North Pole to keep an eye on children and report back to Santa on their behavior. Each night, the elf returns to the North Pole to give Santa Claus an update, and in the morning, it is found in a new location within the home.

See Frequently Asked Elf on the Shelf Questions.

Children love waking up each morning to search for their elf and see what kind of mischief it has gotten into during the night. From hiding in the Christmas tree to making snow angels in flour on the kitchen counter, the possibilities for elf shenanigans are endless.

The magic of Elf on the Shelf goes beyond just the fun of finding the elf each morning. It also encourages children to behave well and be kind to others, as they know their elf is watching and reporting back to Santa. This can be a helpful tool for parents during the often chaotic holiday season.

The magic of Elf on the Shelf is about bringing joy and excitement to the holiday season, while also promoting good behavior and kindness. It’s no wonder that this tradition has become a beloved part of many families’ holiday celebrations.

Creating Your Elf on the Shelf Treasure Hunt

Creating an Elf on the Shelf treasure hunt can be a fun and exciting activity for the whole family. It requires some planning and creativity, but the end result is a memorable experience that your children will love. Here are some tips for creating your own Elf on the Shelf treasure hunt.

Choosing Your Elf

elf on the shelf kindness elves ideas

The first step in creating an Elf on the Shelf treasure hunt is choosing your elf. You can either use the elf that comes with the book or purchase a new one. Make sure to choose an elf doll that fits your family’s personality and interests.

Selecting the Perfect Spot

The next step is selecting the perfect hiding spot for your elf. You can choose a different spot each day or have a designated spot for the entire treasure hunt. Make sure the spot is safe and easy for your children to find. In the case of a treasure map, have your Elf on the Shelf at the starting location – the Christmas tree. Alternatively, have your Elf visitor at the end. In this case, X will mark the spot with Elf on the Shelf at the nativity or with Baby Jesus.

Creating the Clues

The most important part of the Elf on the Shelf treasure hunt is setting up the clues. In a Christmas Scavenger Hunt, the clues can be anything from riddles to puzzles to clue cards. For an Elf treasure map, you will have items found around the house (for a challenge) or in one room (for an easy hunt.)

Elf on the shelf treasure map scavenger hunt list

These items that your child will find are:

  • Christmas Cookies
  • Christmas Lights
  • Elf glitter
  • Hot Cocoa
  • One Present
  • Candy Canes
  • Coins
  • Baby Jesus

This is not an editable treasure map template. That means the eight scavenger hunt items are final. If you don’t have something, print out something. For example, if you don’t have candy canes in the house – print out five candy cane photos and hide them around the room(s)/home.

Make sure the hiding spots are age-appropriate and not too difficult for your children to solve. Remember to have fun and be creative when creating your Elf on the Shelf treasure hunt. It’s a great way to create lasting memories with your family.

Enhancing the Fun

printable elf on the shelf treasure hunt ideas

To make the Elf on the Shelf Treasure Hunt even more exciting, there are a few things that can be done to enhance the fun. Here are some ideas:

Incorporating Christmas Crafts

One fun idea to make the Elf on the Shelf Treasure Hunt more enjoyable is to incorporate Christmas Elf crafts. This can be done by having the elf leave a craft project for the children to do each day. For example, the elf could leave craft supplies to make a paper snowflake, a homemade ornament, or a Christmas card for a friend or family member. You can also add Elf coloring pages or an Elf activity pack. This fun activity will not only add to the fun of the treasure hunt but also provide an opportunity for the children to be creative and get into the holiday spirit.

Adding Festive Treats

Another way to enhance the Elf on the Shelf Treasure Hunt is to add festive treats. In addition to having fun treasures along the scavenger hunt, the elf could leave a small treat or snack each day leading to Christmas for the children to enjoy. This could be a candy cane,  hot chocolate, or a Christmas cookie. Treasure will make the treasure hunt more exciting, but daily treasure will add to the overall holiday experience.

To keep things organized, it might be helpful to create a chart or table to plan out the crafts and treats for each day. An editable Elf on the Shelf Calendar will ensure that there is a variety of activities and treats throughout the treasure hunt. Additionally, using bold text or bullet points can help highlight important information and make it easier to read and understand.

Overall, incorporating Christmas crafts and adding festive treats are simple ways to make the Elf on the Shelf Treasure Hunt or your daily Elf ideas will make things even more enjoyable for children.

Safety Tips for the Hunt

  • Make sure the elf is visible and not obstructed by any objects that could cause tripping or falling.
  • Keep the elf away from any hazardous materials or objects that could cause harm… this includes pets!

Treasure Hunt Safety

  • Set boundaries for the hunt area and make sure children understand where they are allowed to search – one room, a few rooms, or the entire house!
  • Ensure that children are supervised at all times during the hunt.
  • Avoid using any small objects that could pose a choking hazard for young children.

Looking for some fun and creative ideas to spice up your Elf on the Shelf tradition? Why not add Barbie to the mix? If anything has become all the rage this year, it has been Barbie, especially with the release of the newest Barbie Movie.

Barbie dolls offer endless possibilities for imaginative play and can make for some hilarious Elf on the Shelf scenarios. Plus, if you don’t want to use the doll, Barbie clothing and accessories can be used for an Elf on the Shelf. From glamorous fashion shows to adorable proposals, there are countless ways to incorporate Barbie into your Elf on the Shelf adventures.

In order to take a look at these Elf on the Shelf ideas using Barbies, let’s start with a story. As the story goes along, we will share new Elf on the Shelf Barbie mischief you can incorporate into your own holiday tradition.  You can do all of these elf ideas or just a few. If you want to be really creative and fun, do them all in order for the entire elf season. Grab an editable Elf calendar and plan out your nights!

Let’s tell the story of Barbie and the Elf on the Shelf.

Elf Meets Barbie: The Beginning

Barbie had always been a fan of Christmas, and she loved decorating her house with all sorts of festive ornaments. One year, she decided to add a new member to help her with the Christmas decor family – an Elf on the Shelf. Little did she know that this tiny elf would soon become an integral part of her life, and the two would embark on many adventures together and one day get married.

The First Encounter

It was a cold December morning when Barbie first met her new elf friend. She was sipping her coffee and admiring her Christmas tree when she noticed a small figure perched on one of the Christmas branches. It was the Elf on the Shelf, and he had come to keep an eye on her and report back to Santa.

Barbie was delighted to have the elf in her home, and she quickly introduced herself. The funny elf, who went by the name Rupert, was shy at first, but he soon warmed up to Barbie’s friendly demeanor. They started in the kitchen baking cookies for Santa. (Photo credit Ellie and Mac)

The two spent the whole day getting to know each other, and Rupert was amazed by Barbie’s kindness and generosity. Of course, under the mistletoe, Elf and Barbie shared their first kiss. (Photo credit Little Hiccups)

Falling in Love

As the days went by, Rupert grew more and more attached to Barbie. He loved spending time with her and watching her go about her daily routine. Elf fell in love with Barbie. He let her know in a candy cane heart letter.

Barbie and Elf spent the next summer at the beach. She dressed as a mermaid and Elf rode the Barbie Jet Ski.

The Proposal

One day, he decided to take their friendship to the next level and Elf proposed to Barbie. It might look like it moved rather quickly, but we both know Elf is a doll and well, Barbie is too. Let’s keep the story rolling, please…

Barbie was taken aback by the elf’s sudden proposal, but she couldn’t deny that she had grown fond of him too. She accepted his proposal, and the two became inseparable. They went on many adventures together, from exploring the North Pole to baking Christmas cookies.

The Wedding

First comes love and then comes marriage… After a few months of blissful dating, Rupert and Barbie decided to tie the knot. They had a beautiful winter wedding, with snowflakes falling gently from the sky and carolers singing in the background. (Photo credit Not Quite Susie)

The ceremony was attended by all of their friends and family, including Santa Claus himself. Their reindeer pet held the sign and acted as the ring bearer.  (Photo credit Polar Square Designs )

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in a cozy cabin in the woods, snuggled up by the fire and sipping hot cocoa and (of course) sugary syrup. They knew that their love would only grow stronger with each passing Christmas season, and they were excited to spend many more holidays together.

In the cabin was a special, couples-only mini marshmallow bath. It was a romantic honeymoon. (Photo credit Source.)

And so, the story of Elf on the Shelf and Barbie began. They would go on to have many more adventures, bringing joy and laughter to children all over the world.

Barbie’s Dream House Adventures

Barbie’s Dream House is the perfect place for Elf on the Shelf to have some fun and mischief. After their honeymoon, they settled home and began to enjoy the daily life of being newlyweds.

Here are some ideas to inspire you:

Elf House Tour

Barbie’s Dream House has endless rooms and stories, which means there are plenty of places for Elf on the Shelf to explore. Create a tour of the house for Elf on the Shelf, complete with stops at all the best spots. As a member of the Elf moving committee who needs adult Elf humor just as much as the kids, you can even make it a little funny and act like you are on MTV Cribs.

Here are some ideas for stops on the tour:

  • The kitchen, where Elf can cook up some mischief with Barbie’s cooking supplies
  • The living room, where Elf can relax on the couch and watch TV
  • The bathroom, where Elf can take a bubble bath in Barbie’s tub
  • The bedroom, where Elf can try on Barbie’s clothes and accessories
  • The closet, where Elf can hide in Barbie’s shoes or clothes

Make sure to take plenty of pictures of Elf on the tour to share with your family and friends.

Barbie and Elf Slumber Party

What could be more fun than a slumber party with Barbie and Elf on the Shelf? Set up a sleeping area for Elf in Barbie’s room, complete with a mini bed and blankets. Then, have Barbie and Elf stay up late playing games, watching movies, and snacking on popcorn and other treats.

To make the slumber party even more fun, create a list of activities for Barbie and Elf to do together. Here are some ideas:

  • Play dress up with Barbie’s clothes and accessories
  • Host a movie night with popcorn
  • Have a pillow fight (Photo credit Travels with Choppy)
  • Tell ghost stories
  • Make friendship bracelets
  • Play board games or card games
  • Play a game of Twister with Elf

At the sleepover, everyone can enjoy a roller coaster ride. Elf on the Shelf loves the dryer runs and Barbie and his friends will love the ride too.

pillow fight for elf on the shelf with barbie

For the slumber party idea, incorporate sleepover party games for your child. They can have their own slumber party too. Beside the Elf, you can even have a letterboard note announcing how much sleep was not gotten.

Barbie even let Elf have a sock sleeping bag slumber party with his best friends – what a doll!

Elf on the Shelf Sleeping Bag in Socks

With these ideas, Barbie’s Dream House is sure to be a favorite spot for Elf on the Shelf.

Fashion Frenzy

Barbie’s Wardrobe Raid

Barbie’s wardrobe is a treasure trove of fashionable items that can inspire some creative Elf on the Shelf ideas. Elves can raid Barbie’s closet and use her clothes (or Ken’s clothes – guess he left some behind?) to create fun and unique outfits for themselves. (Photo credit Source)

One idea is to have the elf dress up in Barbie’s clothes and strike a pose on a miniature runway made of cardboard or paper. The elf can also accessorize with Barbie’s jewelry and shoes for added flair.

Another idea is to have the elf create a mini fashion shoot with Barbie’s clothes. The elf can use a toy camera and set up a scene with a miniature backdrop and photo booth props. This can make for a fun and playful photo opportunity for kids and parents alike.

Elf’s Fashion Show

The elf can also put on a fashion show with Barbie’s clothes for the other toys in the playroom. The elf can use a makeshift runway and invite other toys to be the audience. The elf can also make fun commentary about the outfits as they are modeled. Just write down personalized messages on Elf Speech Bubbles – oh the things Elf might be caught saying! (Photo credit Little Hiccups)

elf on the shelf fashion show with barbie clothes

To make the fashion show even more exciting, the elf can create a scorecard and rate each outfit on a scale of 1 to 10. This can encourage kids to get creative and come up with their own unique outfits for the elf to model.

Overall, raiding Barbie’s wardrobe can be a fun and creative way to come up with Elf on the Shelf ideas. It can also inspire kids to think outside the box and come up with their own fashion-forward ideas. You can have your child lay out Barbie/Elf clothing the night before of what they want their family elf to wear the next day!

Holiday Mischief

Barbie and her Elf on the Shelf friend have been up to some holiday mischief! Check out these fun hijinks to add some mischievous ideas to your holiday season.

Christmas Tree Chaos

Barbie’s Elf on the Shelf friend decided to have some fun with the Christmas tree. They rearranged the ornaments and made everything pink, hung boas from the branches, and even tied a string of lights around the tree like a scarf. It was a silly sight, but Barbie couldn’t help but laugh at the cleverness of her mischievous friend and how adorable her pink Chrsitmas tree was.

Snowball Fight

elf on the shelf snow angel snow ball fight

One morning, Barbie woke up to find her Elf on the Shelf friend had started a snowball fight with some of her other dolls. They had created a fort out of pillows and blankets and were having a blast throwing cotton balls and mini marshmallows “snowballs” at each other. Barbie couldn’t resist joining in on the fun and soon the whole house was filled with laughter, snowball fights, and (of course) snow angels. (Photo credit Source)

DIY Elf on the Shelf Igloo House Craft & Idea

Later, Elf on the Shelf camped out with his friend in a snowball igloo. Of course, Barbie stayed inside because anyone who loves a Dream House doesn’t prefer the great outdoors or anything less than a 5-star hotel.

Barbie’s Convertible Joyride

Barbie’s Elf on the Shelf friend decided to take Barbie’s convertible for a joyride. They buckled up, put on some shades, and hit the open road. Barbie was shocked when she found her car in a different spot than where she left it, but couldn’t help but laugh when she saw her Elf on the Shelf friend behind the wheel. (Photo credit Crystal & Comp)

Barbie’s Car Repair

After the joyride, Barbie needed to repair the flat tire on her car. Of course, her husband Elf was able to fix Barbie’s car so she and her gal pal could quickly get back on the road.

These Elf on the Shelf ideas with Barbie are sure to bring some holiday cheer and laughter to your home. Get creative and have fun with your own mischievous ideas!

Culinary Capers

The Elf on the Shelf is always looking for new ways to have fun and get into mischief. One way to do that is by teaming up with Barbie in the kitchen. Here are some culinary capers that your Elf can get into with Barbie.

Baking with Barbie

Barbie loves to bake, and she’s always looking for a new recipe to try. Your Elf can help her out by leaving a recipe book open to a page with a delicious-looking dessert. Barbie will be delighted to find the recipe and start baking. Your Elf can even leave a note with a suggestion for a fun twist on the recipe. (Photo credit Source)

To take it up a notch, your Elf can rearrange the ingredients in the kitchen. For example, he can replace the sugar with salt or swap the flour with baking powder. Barbie will be in for a surprise when she starts baking or your child starts baking delicious cookies with the ingredients Elf on the Shelf left out!

Elf’s Candy Cane Craze

The Elf on the Shelf loves candy canes, and he can’t get enough of them during the holiday season. Barbie can help him out by making some candy cane-inspired treats.

One idea is to make candy cane cookies. Barbie can make a simple sugar cookie dough and add crushed candy canes to the mix. The result is a delicious, festive cookie that your Elf will love. Another idea is to make candy cane hot chocolate. Barbie can melt some white chocolate and add crushed candy canes to the mix. She can then add the mixture to hot milk for a delicious and festive drink.

Your Elf can leave a note with a suggestion for a fun twist on the recipe or leave some candy canes for Barbie to use in her baking. Elf can also leave a candy cane hunt out for your child to participate in with all the extra candy canes around. Once the candy canes are found, recipes can be made!

Your Scout Elf on the Shelf can have a lot of fun in the kitchen with Barbie. Whether they’re baking together or making candy cane-inspired treats, there are plenty of culinary capers to be had.

The Grand Finale

The Elf on the Shelf has been up to mischief for weeks, and now it’s time for the grand finale. Here are two ideas for the final night with Barbie and her Elf on the Shelf.

The Christmas Eve Ball

Barbie loves to dance, and her elf is no exception. For the grand finale, the elf can set up a mini ballroom with a tiny disco ball, streamers, and balloons. He can even invite some of Barbie’s other dolls to join in the fun. The elf can be dressed up in a tuxedo or a ball gown, and he can dance the night away with his new friends.

“Dancing with the girls and partying all night, you should have seen us, it was such a sight!”  Grab this Elf on the Shelf Free printable note and add it to your festive Elf ball.

Elf and Barbie can have their own special dining table for the winter date. (Photo credit Source and Source)

To make the ball even more special, the elf can leave a note for Barbie inviting her to the ball. The note can be written in glitter or on a fancy piece of paper. Barbie will be delighted to receive an invitation to the Christmas Eve Ball. At the Christmas Eve Ball, make sure to have a kissing booth!

kissing booth elf on the shelf

Barbie’s Suprise

And of course, first comes love, then comes marriage, and then comes baby. Grab a cute Elf on the Shelf baby for Barbie and her man. There are plenty of cute little Elf on the Shelf baby ideas for the end of your Elf season and the year to come.

With these two ideas, the Elf on the Shelf can end his visit with Barbie on a high note. She will be thrilled with the Christmas Eve Ball a baby surprise, and she will remember her time with the Elf fondly until next year.

Is there a Black Elf on the Shelf?

If you are looking for a Black Elf on the Shelf doll, you are in luck! Yes, there is diverse Elf on the Shelf dolls. In fact, as CCA & B company has grown, there are now different colored Elf on the Shelf dolls and different genders. As someone who actually has one of the original Elf on the Shelf dolls, I have seen how the doll has changed and new dolls have been introduced. It has been nice to see the evolution of time and inclusion of all genders and ethnic groups.

It is important to know, however, that all official Scout Elves (of all colors and genders) do have a red outfit and white collar. Any colored Elf on the Shelf dolls including purple elf, blue elf, leopard elf, pink elf, camo Elf on the Shelf, and black & white Elf on the Shelf dolls are off brands. You also can not buy a brown Elf on the Shelf doll only, you will need to get an Elf doll with the Elf on the Shelf Book.

Also specialty stores and boutiques have been known to have Elf on the Shelf kits. Sometimes these Elf sets are available longer than your big box stores and large online retailers. Some boutique stores have had Elf on the Shelf doll only (which is never the original Scout Elf, as Scout Elves comes with a Elf on the Shelf book.)

When is the best time to buy an Elf on the Shelf?

When Does Elf on the Shelf Leave?

“When does Elf on the Shelf go home?” New to the Elf on the Shelf Tradition? Are you wondering when the right time for Elf on the Shelf to pack up and leave is? The truth is, the Goodbye Elf on the Shelf tradition varies from family to family. Other families prefer for Elf to be present on Christmas morning when everyone is opening gifts, then make their departure later that same evening.

For most families, however, Elf leaves the night Christmas Eve when Santa drops off the Christmas gifts. That gives your Elf a chance to hop in the big red sack and take a ride home with Santa back to the North Pole. So, for most members of the Elf Moving Committee, you will create your very last Elf idea on December 23rd and set up your Goodbye Elf on the Shelf idea to be discovered the following day. Your kids will say their final goodbyes on Christmas Eve. When your children wake Christmas morning, your Elf will be gone. They will be sad, but you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing you have a whole year before Elf on the Shelf returns!
