Ice Cream Cone Santa Hat Cupcakes

We had so much fun with our Christmas Food Crafts for kids we wanted to revamp one of our recipes – Our Santa Hat Cupcakes! These fun cupcakes can be used for Santa with milk, instead of cookies. They also are great for classroom parties! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Cake Mix
  • 3 Eggs (as called for on the cake mix box)
  • 1 cup Water  (as called for on the cake mix box)
  • 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil  (as called for on the cake mix box)
  • 24 Sugar Cones (we used Keebler Sugar Cones)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup Red Candy Melts
  • Red Sparkling Sugar


Ice Cream Cone Santa Hat Cupcakes

Directions:

  1. Make cupcakes according to directions.
  2. Let cool.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and add vanilla.
  4. Mix in the sugar one cup at a time.
  5. Beat in the milk mixing until fluffy.
  6. Transfer icing to the corner of large size zipper bag, try to minimize trapped air and close. Clip a small piece off the corner to pipe.
  7. Heat Red Candy Chips by microwaving for 30 seconds stirring and repeating until melted.
  8. Coat each cone by rolling in melted candy.
  9. Place on rack and sprinkle with sparkling sugar.
  10. Allow to set.
  11. Ice the top of the cupcake.
  12. Place a candy cone on top of each.
  13. Pipe icing in a ring around the top of each cupcake.
  14. Pipe a ball at the end of the cone.

Ingredients
