Tutorial on How to Hand Stamp Metal Spoons. Spoon quotes and sayings plus our free Wedding Gift Printable – May your marriage be filled with lots of laughs, love and ice cream!

How to Hand Stamp Metal Spoons

I love antique spoons. My mother and law uses her silver spoons every day, not just on special occasions. I wish I had silver spoons to do that and plan to hit more thift stores to build my collection.

Spoon Quotes and Sayings

For our wedding gift, we did a cute little – Love you, Love you more spoon quote. There are many sayings and creative ideas you can come up with when creating your own Stamp Metal Spoons.

For those that love cereal you could have the quotes…

Be a Fruitloop in a World Full of Cheerios

Cereal Killer

For wedding gift ideas, you could have the quotes

Let’s Spoon. Maybe.

Hot Stuff

His. Hers.

Other cute spoon quotes for the kitchen include

Hangry.

In a Jam

Awesome Sauce

Coffee Spoons Quotes

Coffee might be your vice. Some messages for Coffee Spoons include these cute quotes and sayings…

Drink Coffee, Read Books, Be Happy

But First Coffee

Rise and Grind

Nana’s Coffee

My husband loves coffee. He always has a spoon on the counter by the coffee pot. For him, I want to make the quote Love you a Latte. Maybe next Father’s Day or for his birthday. A silly small gift, but something he will use and look at every day!

Hand Stamp Metal Spoon Supplies

If you want a good looking hand stamped metal spoons, you will need a few supplies.

  • Upcycled Spoons (we got ours at a thrift store)
  • Metal Stamp Set (we used this set)
  • Jewelry Mini Hammer (similar to this one)
  • Steel Bench Block
  • An old rag or towel
  • Metal Stamping Sticker Guides
  • Steel Wool
  • Black Sharpie Permanent Maker
  • Optional: Rubbing Alcohol
  • Optional: Silver Polish
  • Optional: Painters Tape or Masking Tape
  • Optional: Heart Stamp

For the Printable Wedding Gift Tag

  • Printer (Or send to Staples – see instructions below)
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors

How to Hand Stamp Metal Spoons

Head to your local thrift store and pick up some silver spoons. We found ours for $.50 each – talk about a deal! You can use stainless steel spoons but they aren’t as soft and you have to hit it harder and for a longer period time. I would suggest getting Premier Stamps from ImpressArt for those. At $.50 a spoon, get a couple to practice with.

I would suggest you use a silver polish on the spoons before beginning your DIY Metal Stamping. I have always used Weiman Silver Polish.

First, find the appropriate sticker guide for your spoon. You want the letters spaced out evenly. It’s important to plan ahead or you will have letters all over the place. You also can use painters tape or masking tape to line up your lettering.

We wrapped our block with an old rag (towel). Having your metal block wrapped, keeps the spoon from slipping. Lay your spoon on your block. You also can using masking tape to hold the spoon in place.

Next, put your stamp on silver spoon and hit with a hammer about 3 times for each letter. It is important to hit it head on and not at an angel. It it pretty hard. Continue this pattern until you have your message stamped onto the spoon. Sometimes I find it is best to start with the center letter. For example if I had the word YOU, I would start with the O and then add the U and then add the Y. This helped me center myself and my message.

After your message is stamped, color over letters with a black Sharpie marker.  Don’t worry, this will erase!

Scrub excess marker off with a steel wool. You could use a polishing cloth or rubbing alcohol with paper towel.

Easy peasy, you have your completed stamped metal spoons.

Now, download our free Wedding Gift Tag Printable. Open the document and print from your computer onto card stock.

Cut out the gift tag with scissors.

Bear Hug Valentines: This easy Teddy Grahams Valentine Conversation Heart Cookies require only three ingredients. If you want these to be your valentines, we also included free printable bear hug gift tags. Enjoy!

Teddy Grahams Valentines

You guys. I have a confession. I am not really a Pinterest mom. I am just a creative mastermind behind the moms who really are Pinterest moms. I come up with some really creative ideas but I never implement them. I hate mess and most Pinterest crafts and recipes lead to messes. This. This, however, is something I will implement. It is so easy and takes two seconds. I also can hand all the supplies to my oldest kids and say, “have at it!” And then I feel like a winner because they feel like America’s Next Top Chef. We both win.

Teddy Grahams Valentines

These Teddy Grahams Valentines are easy. So easy, they have only two ingredients – if you even call them ingredients. I say they are ingredients because that whole America’s Next Top Chef thing.

Teddy Graham Valentines Ingredients

… and the secret ingredient is Teddy Grahams! {Bet you had no idea!} Really the ingredients include three things.

  • Teddy Grahams
  • Conversation Hearts
  • Vanilla icing

You will also need:

  • Decorating bag
  • Parchment paper

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over. A binder keeps me organized and gives me a place to store my recipes.

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

  • Pudding Cups (get enough to match the number of students in the class)

  • Optional: ribbon or string (we love red and white baker’s twine)

Pudding Cup Valentine Printables for Kids

What’s Up Pudding Cup Directions

Not too many directions and probably a very straight forward process.

First, print the valentines on cardstock

Second, lay your pudding cup over the gift tag, tracing the shape of the pudding cup to the gift tag. Cut out around outer edge.

Fill out each to and from before the next step.

Next, tape the valentines on top of each pudding cup.

We like to tie a spoon with twine or a ribbon to the back of the cup and tie a bow around the center of the cup (optional).

I would attach a piece of tape in the pack of the pudding cup to hold the twine/ribbon in place.

Gift your What’s Up Valentine Pudding Cup and enjoy!

Have you adopted a girl Elf Baby? We created “It’s a girl” printable for your baby Elf on the Shelf ideas. New creative, funny, and original Elf on the Shelf Ideas daily.

It’s a Girl Baby Elf Printable

Elf on the Shelf Girl Baby Elf and Free Elf Printable

I said I was done having kids, but I  did it. We bought a cute Elf baby. After having five kids, and now an elf baby, this is the last baby to enter this home – there I said it! (Only kidding – wink!) More on our Girl Elf Baby adoption later.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas

We are back, so is the Elf on the Shelf! If you have been with us a long time, you know we have brought you a new Elf on the Shelf Ideas daily (in the months of November and December) for the past six years. You can view our Elf on the Shelf Master List for a full list of ideas including every idea we have ever done.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas we have included in the past that are perfect for Girl Elf Babies are our Elf on the Shelf Babysitter, Elf on the Shelf Rice Krispies Cereal (the girl baby elf can be another head) and Put your Baby Elf in the Mini Van for a Road Trip.

How to Introduce a Girl Elf Baby

In order to justify our purchase, I decided to make some Elf on the Shelf Printables for a Baby Elf. This is the second of three (currently) Elf Baby Printables. You can see our first Punny Acute Elf Baby Printable.

To introduce a Girl Baby Elf in your home, this It’s a Girl printable is a great idea. I have spoken with some elf enthusiast and they have been confused on how to keep a baby elf for many years after this. You could explain this baby elf is in training and will move on to another family as their elf next year.

Where to Buy a Girl Elf Baby

Our Elf Baby came with a bottle, rattle and baby doll. I have a feeling the accessories might vary a little with each purchase as this product is found in the handmade section of Amazon.

We decided to stay with the red lace because our Elf on the Shelf is red, but there are many other Girl Elf Baby options. Amazon has an entire Elf Girl Baby section in the Handmade section. Another perfect place to personalize an Elf on the Shelf Baby is on Etsy.

A few cute elf baby dolls to accompany your Elf on the Shelf include…

  • Girl Baby Elf Rapunzel
  • Entire Baby Elf Nursery
  • Pink and Green Girl Elf baby
  • Bunny Girl Elf Baby

Twin Boy Girl Elf Babies

… and because I have my own twins, I had to share these Twin Boy and Girl Elf Babies. I am in love!

Our goal, to make Elf easy for you!
