This rainbow scavenger hunt will help you toddlers learn to identify colors and keep them entertained! Download many free scavenger hunt ideas for kids, preschoolers, and more.

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt to Teach Toddlers Their Colors

Recognizing colors is an important skill that kids can learn as early as 2 or 3 years old. It’s typically one of the first things parents teach their children, along with shapes and letters. Colors will be taught in preschool and kindergarten, but you can start exposing your child to the names of colors long before they head off to class.

One of the easiest ways to help your children identify colors and know color names is by pointing them out in their environment. When you go to the park, mention how green the grass is, or how white the puffy clouds are in the sky. Point out a blue or red car. If you take your child grocery shopping, they can find a number of different colors just within the produce aisle.

Learning opportunities are really all around us every single day!

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt – Teaching Toddlers Their Colors

A great indoor scavenger hunt that we have put together involves finding the colors of the rainbow inside your home. This is the perfect activity for a rainy day when it’s too miserable to play outside. You will still want to entertain your toddler, and with this free printable scavenger hunt, they learn while having fun!

Print the scavenger hunt when you are ready to play with your toddler. You can leave it as a full sheet or cut it up into cards to make them smaller for your little one’s hands. Read and follow the directions on each card to have your child roaming around the house looking for colors!

Rainbow Scavenger Hunt Printable Game - Scavenger Hunt Ideas for Kids

The following instructions are on this free rainbow scavenger hunt:

  • Find something in your bedroom that is red
  • Something in the toy box that is orange
  • Find something in the kitchen that is yellow
  • Something outside that is green
  • Find something in your closet that is blue
  • Something on a shelf that is purple
  • Find something in a drawer that is pink
  • Something on the floor that is brown
  • Find something in the living room that is black
  • Something in the bathroom that is white

Making this Scavenger Hunt Printable More Fun

Each time you play this game with your toddler, encourage them to find new things that are the color you are looking for. You can also mix it up, such as finding something in the toy box that is blue and something in the closet that’s orange. This keeps the game fresh so they are always learning new places to find their colors.

The more exposure you give them to color names, the faster they will catch on!

It won’t be long before your little one will be able to tell you the colors of things: balls, cars, food, etc. And if you ever want to give rewards, try giving them an M&M of the right color once they find it in the game!

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Are you looking for a gluten-free recipe that everyone in the family will love? These Veggie Loaded Chickpea Nuggets are the BEST. Since this recipe makes 30 veggie nuggets, there is more than plenty to go around. Plus, it’s the perfect way to load up the kids with extra veggies, too!

how to make Veggie Loaded Chickpea Nuggets

We crave new and fun foods in our house. Maybe we’re a family of foodies, or maybe we just like to try new and exciting things. I really like this easy nugget recipe because the main ingredient is chickpeas and the kids literally have no idea.

It’s not that I’m trying to trick them, but let’s be honest. Getting the kids to eat more food with veggies is probably a daily struggle for most of us. Thankfully there are recipes like this Chickpea Nuggets that make this one less battle to have to fight.

Once the kids gobble them all down, it’s up to you to tell them that they’re just ate simple gluten-free chickpea nuggets. I say some things are just better left unsaid! Make sure to check out my Gluten-free Thanksgiving Recipes for even more yummy options.

How do you get rid of excess water from the shredded zucchini?

You’ll be amazed at how much water zucchini holds! Once you shred the zucchini, you need to get rid of as much of the water as possible. For this baking hack, I typically placed shredded zucchini in a paper towel give it a good squeeze and drain it out, which gets rid of a lot of it quickly.

zucchini hack

What dipping sauces go well with chickpea nuggets?

This is all up to you and your dipping preferences! If you want a dip, get that sauce. Just be sure that whatever dip you’re using is gluten-free as well.

Some dips that people use include:

  • ketchup
  • ranch
  • hot mustard
  • salsa
  • honey mustard

And those are just a few. You can even make a combination dip of all your favorite flavors or eat it without a dip and enjoy them as is.

Tips for Making these Chickpea Nuggets

Even though this recipe is pretty simple to do, there is one tip to keep in mind as you’re making it.

The mixture is going to be wet and sticky, so be sure to wet your hands down if it’s sticking to your hands while you’re forming them. This will make it less sticky and easier to handle.

Gluten-Free Veggie Nuggets

I think that you’ll find that once you make this simple nugget recipe, you’re going to put it on your meal planning radar asap to have it again.

Looking for an adventure on your camping trip? Print out this camping scavenger hunt printable set for a fun activity for families with kids of all ages!

Camping Scavenger Hunt Printable

For those of you who enjoy a little bit of adventure on your camping trips, we have the perfect game for you: Camping Scavenger Hunt! This activity will help break up the monotony of a campout and give everyone something to do.

We’ve included some printables that can be used as clues in our scavenger hunt, as well as some riddles that may stump you along the way – but they’re all great fun. The best part is that this game can be adjusted to suit any age group or skill level, so it’s perfect for families with children of varying ages!

How to plan a camping scavenger hunt

Before the camping trip

  • Download and print out the camping scavenger hunt printables on cardstock.
  • Look over the clue cards and decide which ones work best for your group or family. Don’t forget to consider your location and what’s available where you’ll be camping.
  • Plan which order you want the treasure hunt riddles to be in according to your campsite, then add the number to the back of the clues.
  • On the clues and answers page, make a mark through any clues you don’t end up using so there’s no confusion later.
  • Print out however many “do not touch” labels you need on computer paper or adhesive label paper.
  • Attach the labels to the flat side of envelopes, setting clue one aside.

When you arrive at the campsite

Once you get to the campsite, double check your riddles and locations so setting up the game is quick and easy. You’ll want to take something like thin nails and a small hammer or even thumbtacks and tape that won’t leave residue to attach the clues to various surfaces.

It’s important to remove the tape, nails or tacks after the game is over so you can leave nature the way you found it.

Camping scavenger hunt rules

Read the first clue off and encourage the group to solve the scavenger hunt riddles together.

Once the riddle is solved, the group should head to the location(s) they think the clues are pointing to. When the group finds a clue, read it aloud, work to solve it together, then move on to solving the next one until they are done and the last envelope is found.

When you’re done hunting for treasures, take down any cards you haven’t used (or that weren’t found) so other campers don’t find them by accident and spend too much time trying to figure out what they are.

More fun camping activities

If you need more activities after your group completes the scavenger hunt, there are plenty of other activities for your next camping trip!

  • Sing campfire songs: Make up silly lyrics to some old favorites
  • Make s’mores: I mean, if you don’t make s’mores on a camping trip, did you really even camp?
  • Night Hide and Seek:  When the sun goes down and the night sky appears, play Flashlight Tag
  • Photos: Take photos of your group on each day and post them on social media using #campingselfie. You may want to take pictures during the adventure as well that can be used later for scrapbooking adventures together – what’s more fun than looking back at how much fun you had when it was over?
  • Camping Journal: Make a camping journal for the kids on the trip to keep fun notes in, draw things they see, and write about their favorite moments.

Camping Themed Scavenger Hunt Printable

Download our outdoor scavenger hunt riddles for kids. This Camping Treasure hunt includes 20 camping riddles to go on an adventure when camping outdoors. Easy to read scavenger hunt clues  will lead the kids all around the camp.

In our camping games kit, we included a “stop, please do not touch this clue” note to keep your clues safe if doing this treasure hunt in a public campsite.

Halloween is just around the corner and these printable labels offer a fresh and creative way to dress up beverages and food for both parties and trick-or-treaters. Learn how to customize and print spooky 2-liter Halloween Bottle Labels. Instantly download these October Halloween party printables and add character to any party.

Halloween Shocktails Bottle Labels for 2-Liter Soda

We are ready for cooler temperatures, falling leaves, pumpkins and all things spooky. It’s hard to believe how fast the year is going and that Halloween is just around the corner. We wanted to share with you this adorable printable when planning your classroom party, home party, or whatever festive event you have going on for Fall. When planning your menu, be sure to save this tasty Halloween Jalapeño Popper Mummies recipe. We promise you will love them!

The labels below come in one size paper, legal size which is 8.5 x 14 inch paper.

You can save these and print from your own computer or we give you step by step directions to save and print at Staples Copy Center. I personally find it more affordable to print at the copy center because I don’t have this paper and I save on printer ink.

Halloween Felt Board Quote

When planning your festivities, consider adding a felt board. Felt boards can say so much and add the perfect touch of Halloween Party Décor.

We love this one “If one door closes and another door opens… your house is probably haunted!” Also take a look at all of our felt board quotes for all occasions (not only for Halloween decorating.)

DIY Halloween Labels for Drinks

If hosting a Halloween party this October, you need these printable Halloween Drink Labels. They are a perfect complement to any spooky bash, transforming ordinary 2-liter soda bottles to a spook-tacular potion!

For these Halloween beverage labels, we used Dr. Pepper, Orange Soda, Cherry 7-Up, and Mountain Dew but you may adapt to your own drinks for Halloween.

Supplies

  • Four Soda Bottles – We picked up Dr. Pepper, Orange Soda, Cherry 7-Up, and Mountain Dew
  • Printer Ink
  • 8.5 x 14 Legal printer paper (Amazon has a great price)
  • Halloween Drink Labels

My goal for picking our soda bottles was looking for strong colors, flavors the kids would drink and bottle caps that fit the Halloween theme.

Instructions

Once you print your Halloween Labels, it’s very easy to wrap the bottle.

First, you can use scissors to trim off any printer paper that doesn’t have color.

Next take off the existing 2-liter bottle label. If you are not using cardstock, the label will show through the printable paper.

Take your bottle label and wrap it around the bottle. Use hot glue or tape to secure in place.

Then your done. Such easy Halloween party décor and such a fun addition to your tablescape with Halloween party food!

Can I use sticker paper on my Halloween Bottle Labels?

Yes, you can substitute your 8.5 x 14 printer paper for sticker paper (on Amazon) or even for cardstock. Just stick with the legal paper size.

Halloween Drink Labels

Halloween bottle labels include push pin doll, rat, vampire and zombie brew labels. Turn a soda bottle into a tasty Halloween drink – forget the cocktails, add the shocktails!

DIY Halloween Potion Bottles

In addition to printable Halloween labels for drinks, you can make your own Halloween Decorations. DIY projects make very affordable Halloween décor. To make this Halloween Potion Jar Label you need upcycled bottles, spray paint, twine and permanent markers. You likely have many of these craft supply items in your home and anything you don’t have you can find at the dollar store.

DIY Halloween Potion Bottles

Distress the bottle with spray paint and accents.  For another brilliant idea, consider using hot glue to give the bottle texture and 3-d effects. You can paint over the dried glue. Also pull some outside elements like dried moss.

Other supplies to include are glass jars. glitter, cork and more. To finish, label your potion bottles with unique names like witch’s brew, snake venom, snail salvia, dragonfly wings and more.

What is glamping?

glamping tips and glamping printables

Glamping is short for “glamorous camping.” It’s a way to have the best of both worlds: explore nature while still feeling like you’re home. Imagine waking up in your luxury tent, hiking through beautiful scenery and then returning back to it at night. Glamping can happen anywhere – from tents on beaches or riverbanks to yurts in forests!

Glamping vs. camping

A camper will be happy with sleeping on the ground without any luxuries whatsoever – while a “glampers,” by comparison, would expect an air mattress at the very least!

Glamping is different from traditional camping in that it’s a more luxurious experience. Often, glampsites will include amenities like fire pits, heated tents and even butlers to help you get settled!

Glamps are always prepared for everything because they know what it takes to create this experience of being out in nature but still feeling like home.

What does glamping mean?

The word “glamp” comes from glamorous campers who would set up their sites with all sorts of amenities that are usually found indoors such as beds, couches and rugs. The world of glamping includes everything from staying in a gorgeous cabin to the perfect glamping tent.

How to pick a glamping tent

If you’re interested in keeping your experience having all of the comforts while still being close with nature, you’ll want a tent that serves your needs. But what should you look for?

Before choosing your tent, think about where you want to go glamping and how much space you need for the items you want to have on hand. Most glamping trips include air mattresses, so take that into consideration as well.

How to go glamping

In our printable glamping packet you’ll have not only glamping ideas, but glamping tips, and plenty of space to make note of everything you need for your ultimate camping experience.

So what makes a glamping trip amazing? Plan your best trip with these glamping tips:
