Have you cleaned up your Christmas decorations? Before I had kids, and maybe when I only had one, my Christmas decorations were always put away by the New Year. Every year and with each additional child, the date became later and later. This year, with the expected delivery of the twins, we decided to go very slim on decorations. I just couldn’t handle the babies coming and getting everything put away.

Anyways, moving on from the holidays of last year and onto the first holiday of the new year – Valentines Day! Last year you guys loved our Valentine Home Decor Ideas. This year we wanted to go a step further with a focus – Valentine Mantel Ideas. I think if you are going to decorate any piece of your home, at least get the mantel. If you can’t get to anything else in the home for that season, no big deal. The mantel is the staple of most homes and having it decorated allows you to feel as if you didn’t slack. Valentine You Make My Heart Pop!

I love pun and I love Valentines. This adorable valentine collides two of my favorite things. This valentine is very affordable and easy to make. It’s also unique. It provides something salty to an otherwise Valentine mailbox that may be filled with sweets! You could also use this printable in our Valentines’ Day Popcorn Recipes! Just spread out the recipe into individual Ziploc bags and tie the tag on the bag with red and white twine.

Tape

Valentine You Make My Heart Pop Printable (see below)

Popcorn Valentine Directions:

It doesn’t take much to create this adorable popcorn valentine.

First, get your Valentine You Make My Heart Pop Printable (below.) You can print at home on cardstock, or we like to order from Staples. Cut out your valentines.

Second, spread out individual bags of popcorn. One bag for each Valentine.

I then took tape and curled it to make it double side. This allowed me to center my Valentine You Make My Heart Pop Printable on my bag of popcorn.

Once that was centered, I took red and white twine and tied a ribbon around the popcorn. I liked to give it a few wraps to give it a pop of color and texture.

Download and save your image from this post. (Please note these images are for personal use only and cannot be sold or used for commercial use.)
Sign in or create a Staples account on their print service page.
Return to Staples print service page.
Go to Start Project.
Go to Documents Printing.
Select the Buy Now Button under color.
On the left column, select your file.
Select upload.
Select done.
Give your job a name.
Make sure your project is single sided. The orientation should be landscape.
I changed my media to 8.5×10 and the media to 67 lb coverstock (I prefer a cardstock feel over printer paper feel.)
Select add to cart.
Proceed to checkout. My total was $0.17 for one print. You can choose to ship to your home or to pick up at your local store. Pay online and show your invoice when you pick up (I just show the order number on my phone at pick-up.) The order invoice will arrive in your email inbox.

These Mini Cherry Heart Pies are so easy to make you might find yourself making them more often than February 14th! Using Refrigerated Pie Crust and Cherry Pie Filling, consider including the kids in this easy as 1, 2, 3 Valentine’s Day recipe.

Mini Cherry Heart Pies

Your ideal Valentine’s day might include beautiful flowers, breakfast in bed, a glass of rose, but not mine. My ideal Valentine’s Day includes dessert, namely pie!

With the season of loving being right around the corner, we are excited to share this amazing holiday dessert. Not only is the heart shape perfect for February, but the ease of the recipe will have you falling in love with this heart shaped hand pie.

Consider sharing this recipe as a gift for a teacher or as an after dinner treat for the family. The Valentine’s Day Food Craft is perfect for incorporating little hands, so have your little baker get ready with the sugar and a heart shaped cookie cutter!

Mini Cherry Heart Pies Ingredients:

Valentine’s Day Mini Cherry Heart Pies

Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 13 minute
Yield: 8 1x

Print Recipe

Ingredients

Scale

1 box Refrigerated Pie Crust
11 oz Cherry Pie Filling
1 Egg
1 tbsp Milk
White Sparkling Sugar
Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Lay out your pie crust and using a 3 to 4″ heart shaped cookie cutter, cut about 16 hearts.
Cut as many shapes as you can, then reroll scraps as needed to get more hearts (get an even number).
Mix your egg and milk to make an egg wash.
Place half of the hearts on prepared pan(s).
Use egg wash to wet the edges of the hearts on the pan.
Place a small amount of the pie filling in the center of each heart.
Make a small x cut in the center of the remaining half of the hearts that are not on the pan.
Place your x heart crust on top of each filled heart and press and crimp edges. A fork can help crimp.
Brush sealed pie with egg wash and dust with sparkling sugar.
Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until crust is browned.
Allow to cool.

Mini Cherry Heart Pies Directions:

First, preheat oven to 350.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Lay out your Refrigerated Pie Crust.

I like to lit the pie crust get slightly room temp before the next step.

Using a 3 to 4″ heart shaped cookie cutter, you should get 8 to 10 pies from 1 box of crusts.

Cut as many heart shapes as you can. Reroll scraps as needed for more pieces. You want an even number of hearts to make the top of the pie and the bottom of the pie.

After you are done, mix together your egg egg and milk to make an egg wash.

Place half of the hearts on prepared pan(s).

Next, use egg wash to wet the edges of the hearts on the pan.

Place a small amount of the pie filling in the center of each heart.

Make a small x cut in the center of the remaining half of the hearts.

Place an x heart on top of each filled heart and press and crimp edges. A fork would be nice to help crimp your edges (see our Baking Hacks and Tips for more ideas on how to perfect pie edges!)

Finally, brush sealed pie with egg wash and dust with sparkling sugar.

Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until crust is slightly browned.

Allow to cool and enjoy!

You guys. I have a confession. I am not really a Pinterest mom. I am just a creative mastermind behind the moms who really are Pinterest moms. I come up with some really creative ideas but I never implement them. I hate mess and most Pinterest crafts and recipes lead to messes. This. This, however, is something I will implement. It is so easy and takes two seconds. I also can hand all the supplies to my oldest kids and say, “have at it!” And then I feel like a winner because they feel like America’s Next Top Chef. We both win.

Jump Ahead To

Teddy Grahams Valentines

These Teddy Grahams Valentines are easy. So easy, they have only two ingredients – if you even call them ingredients. I say they are ingredients because that whole America’s Next Top Chef thing.

Teddy Graham Valentines Ingredients

… and the secret ingredient is Teddy Grahams! {Bet you had no idea!} Really the ingredients include three things.

Teddy Grahams
Conversation Hearts
Vanilla icing

You will also need:

Decorating bag
Parchment paper

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over. A binder keeps me organized and gives me a place to store my recipes.

Teddy Grahams Valentine Conversation Heart Cookies

Ingredients

Teddy Grahams
Conversation Hearts
Vanilla icing
Decorating bag
Parchment paper

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Carefully pour your Teddy Graham’s our onto a piece of parchment paper.
Fill a decorating bag with vanilla frosting and cut a small tip off the end of the bag.
Squeeze a small amount of frosting onto the belly of each Teddy Graham.
Stick one conversation heart onto each Teddy Graham.
I suggest you place them in the freezer or refrigerator to harden the icing and secure the conversation hearts on your Teddy Graham bears.

… and now you have a no-bake bear hug!

These conversation hearts are really simple. I am sure you can quickly figure out the steps, but for those that are still reading…

To Order Your Printables at Staples

Please follow the steps below to print your printables at Staples. You can also follow this video tutorial.

Download and save your image from this post. (Please note these images are for personal use only and cannot be sold or used for commercial use.)
Sign in or create a Staples account on their print service page.
Return to Staples print service page.
Go to Start Project.
Go to Documents Printing. Select Browse.
Select the Buy Now Button under color.
On the left column, choose add file.
Select upload.
Select done.
Give your job a name.
Make sure your project is single sided. The orientation should be portrait (vertical).
I changed my media to 8.5×10 and the media to 67 lb cover stock (I prefer a card stock feel over printer paper feel.)
Select add to cart.
Proceed to checkout. You can choose to ship to your home or to pick up at your local store. Pay online and show your invoice when you pick up (I just show the order number on my phone at pick-up.) The order invoice will arrive in your email inbox.
