Inspirational Spring Easter Wreaths

“Hippity hop hop, Easter’s it’s way…”

Since we moved to DC, our front door decor has been lacking. Mostly because our wreaths didn’t fair well in the move but also because we went from having a front porch to a stoop. This means all my outdoor decor had to either be prepared only to last one year or had to have the ability to get wet. I went for plan A on most of the seasons, replacing my front door seasonal decor every year – no, it wasn’t the frugal way to go about things. However, I learned if I could craft my own projects, seasonal door decor because a little bit more affordable than buying a brand new wreath every year.

With myself in mind and you all secondary (chuckle… I cannot tell you how many posts are created because I am searching for something for our home), I found some of the best Inspirational DIY Spring Easter Wreaths for your front door. Want a creative and cute dessert idea for the kids? Make the chocolate dipped balloon bowls. They are so easy, take a few simple ingredients and the kids will have a blast blowing up the balloon (okay, how are we kidding, you will be doing this) and dipping in in the chocolate.

Follow these simple steps. We served with vanilla pudding, but you could try other flavor puddings or even ice cream – I suggest serving on a plate or in a bowl as the chocolate will quick crack when you use a spoon to scoop out the yummy insides. Best of all, you get to eat you chocolate bowl!

Fig Newtons Easter Bible Cookies Ingredients

Directions:

  1. Outline the top of a Fig Newton cookie with a thin rectangle frame of decorator’s icing. This can be in any color that you like, but we prefer white.
  2. Next, make two vertical lines with icing on either end of one side of the cookie. This will make the spine of your Bible.
  3. Draw a cross with icing in the middle of the top of your Fig Newton cookie.
  4. Cut a small rectangle shape from a Fruit Roll Up. Gently push it into the filling on top of the cookie. This will be the top of your bookmark for the Bible.
  5. Cut another rectangle from the Fruit Roll Up, but this time, cut a small triangle out of the bottom edge of it. Gently push this piece into the filling on the bottom of the cookie so that it sticks out slightly. This will be the bottom of the bookmark in your Bible cookie.
