Easter Scavenger Hunt Ideas for All Ages

How do you make Easter fun? A guided Easter Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to twist up the classic Easter Egg Hunt tradition.  With our 20 at-home scavenger hunt clues, hop through the house with Easter-themed clues using rhyming riddles.

There are a few different ways you can handle this Easter Treasure hunt. Have an Easter egg with candy at each location, have a fun little treasure or treat with your clues, or save a big Easter basket for the end of the Easter bunny treasure hunt.

Use scavenger hunts at easter with the following age groups.

  • Toddlers and Preschoolers: Younger children may need help reading the clues. Pair younger elementary-age kids with an older sibling or adult for an exciting bunny hop from one location to the next. Add interactive fun by encouraging them to “hop like a bunny” or “wiggle their noses” between clues.
  • Tweens and Teens: Older kids can enjoy more challenging riddles and tailored prizes like money, gift cards, or small gadgets. This ensures they stay engaged and excited about the hunt.
  • Adults: Why let the kids have all the fun? Create a grown-up scavenger hunt with clues leading to treats like gourmet chocolate, mini wine bottles, self-care products, or even lottery tickets.

Let’s elaborate!

Easter Scavenger Hunt for Toddlers

These Easter Scavenger Hunt clues are very appropriate for preschoolers. If you have a child who cannot read an adult or older sibling can help them read the clues and solve the Easter Scavenger hunt riddles. Have them get silly hopping like a bunny to each new location.

Easter Egg Hunt Clues for Older Child

As a mother of five, I know the older kids tend to be left out of the treasure hunt fun especially when it comes to your outdoor Easter egg hunt. Apparently no one likes to see a teen with an Easter egg basket out racing young kids. While the little kids can delight in the outside Easter Egg treasure hunt fun, allow your youth and tweens to enjoy an at home Easter Treasure hunt. Fill the teen eggs with only something they would love like make-up, new phone chargers, fuzzy socks, sour candy, or even money!

Easter Egg Riddles for Adults

Gift your spouse some inner childhood Easter fun. Use these Easter egg hunt riddles for adults instead of the kids. Fill plastic eggs with fancy candy one would never share with the kids. Alternative Easter Egg fillers for adults could also include mini alcohol bottles, socks, tie, self-care products, or even lottery tickets.

Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt

What about a fun twist? Try this alternative to Easter morning. Another fun way to twist up the traditional Easter Egg hunt is with glow in the dark eggs. You can buy glow in the dark eggs or make your own DIY glow in the dark eggs. Pair with your treasure hunt clues for a fun adventure and prize after the sun goes down.

All of these fun Easter ideas can be a scavenger hunt with eggs or without.

Easter Scavenger Hunt FAQs

Do I have to use all 20 Easter Scavenger Hunt Clues?

Not at all! Tailor the hunt to your space and audience. In the scavenger hunts with clue cards, you can split these Easter Scavenger Hunt clues. For example, if you don’t have a flower pot or the freezer is not a place you want your child to go, omit that treasure hunt card. In the Easter Story scavenger hunt, try to eliminate as few cards as possible as it tells the story of Easter with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

What are fun Easter Games?

Scavenger Hunts make fun Easter games for groups or inviduals. You can find similar content and more fun Easter game ideas. These include Easter Minute to Win it Games and Easter Party Games.

Who is this Treasure Hunt Appropriate for?

These treasure hunts can be used with toddlers, young kids, teens, and even adults. The riddles would be geared to a child, but there is no reason that an inner child cannot have fun with the Easter activity too. Pair older kids with younger kids that cannot read or solve riddles.

Do you use Easter eggs in this hunt?

The use of Plastic Easter eggs and the amount of prizes is up to you. Have an Easter egg with a treat at each clue stop or have a large prize at the end of the treasure hunt. Adapt to what works for your home, family or Easter party guests.

What are good prize ideas?

Candy is a classic choice, but mix it up with small toys, trinkets, or experience-based prizes like “movie night” or “pizza party” coupons. For example, keep it simple and prize ideas can include candy – just like your traditional egg hunt. To twist it up and personalize your hunt. Fun things to put in Easter eggs are money, stickers, socks, rings, necklaces, erasers, and small trinkets. One alternative is experiences. Write on a piece of paper like popcorn night, pizza out, go to the movie theater, etc. Your child can trade in their coupons throughout the ear for entertainment events with mom or dad. These are things you might otherwise do, anyway.

They can be found in cities (perhaps in a church parking lot) or in the country, visit a pumpkin farm. If you are able to get a a “real” pumpkin patch, it create a learning environment for your kids to see pumpkins are not always found on the shelf but first begin from growing on a vine.

Go to a Fall Festival

Our favorite fall festival is found at local farms, year after year. Look for an event that has a corn maze, hayride, burlap slides, petting farms, and more. It might be a day trip away from the city, but doing something out of the norm creates the most vivid memories.

Go Apple Picking

One of our favorite things to do is to go apple picking.  In late August, September and early October, there’s no better way to take in the beautiful time of year than an afternoon spent in the apple orchard of a little farm, away from the hustle and bustle of the produce aisle in the supermarket. The fall adventure makes for some amazing photos!

Apple Baking Day

Apples certainly make for great healthy snacks all by themselves, however, fall is the time to begin baking. If you find yourself with a surplus of apples, bake as much as you can and consider gifting the extra baked goods to neighbors, teachers, friends and more.  Pair your apple recipes with this adorable Thankful for You Gift Tag for fall.

Carve a Pumpkin

Carving a pumpkin is the All-American fall traditions. It is best done at the end of October so the pumpkin does not rot before Halloween. You can also go outside the traditional norm of carving and try these no-carve pumpkin ideas.

Play Fall Games

Host a game day. This can be a larger event where you invite friends and family or it can be a family game night where you create the most intimate memories among your immediate family. The best thing about fall game parties is you can keep the house clean and free of germs choosing to host outside.

Volunteer

In a season of giving thanks, be sure to also give back. Paying it forward is as much a gift for someone else as it is for you. Find a service project you can commit to for the season such as creating fall turkey kits or homeless kits.  Volunteering provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Plus, intrinsically, it gives to you just as much as it gives back to someone else!

As the leaves begin to turn, take a Scenic Drive. This can be a day trip or a weekend trip to the mountains. Pass the parcel is a fun activity to play during a birthday party or another special event. Learn how to play this gift exchange game plus print this adorable pass the parcel game with rhyming game tasks today!

how to play pass the parcel game printable

Pass the Parcel is a classic party game that has been enjoyed by children and adults alike for generations. The game involves passing a wrapped parcel (present) from person to person based on a series of directions or while music plays.  The aim of the game is to be the one holding the parcel. The person holding the parcel at the end of each round (or at the end of the game) gets to unwrap a layer of paper to reveal a small gift or prize inside.

The origins of Pass the Parcel are unclear, but it is believed to have originated in Britain in the early 20th century. The game of pass has since spread around the world and is now a popular party game in many countries. Pass the Parcel is a simple game that requires no special equipment, making it a popular choice for children’s parties and other social gatherings for adults.

Pass the Parcel is also called the left-right game as the present can jut quickly to the left and again quickly to the right. This gift exchange game can be enjoyed by people of all ages and is a great way to bring people together and create a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re playing with friends, family, or colleagues, Pass the Parcel is sure to provide low-cost entertainment and laughter. So, if you’re looking for a fun and easy game to play at your next party or gathering, why not give Pass the Parcel a try?

What is the Pass the Parcel Game?

Pass the Parcel is a game that involves a present wrapped in one or multiple layers of wrapping paper or reusable fabric bags of different sizes. A prize or gift is placed in the center of the parcel. The game is played by a group of players who sit in a circle. The parcel is passed around the circle from player to player.

How to Play Pass the Parcel Game

There are multiple versions of the Pass the Parcel gift game.  You can play this gift exchange game with music or with rhyming directions.

Musical Pass

To play Pass the Parcel with music, players must sit in a circle. The person who is hosting the party or event should start the game by playing music and passing the parcel to the person sitting next to them. Similar to hot potato only when the music stops, you want to be holding the package. When the music stops, the player holding the parcel unwraps one layer of wrapping paper. The music begins again. With each break in the music, a new layer of the parcel is unwrapped. The game continues until the final layer is unwrapped, revealing the prize or gift inside.

To make the game more challenging, the host can add additional rules, dares, or “forfeits”, such as requiring players to perform a task or answer a question before passing the parcel. This can add an element of fun and excitement to the game. In addition between each layer of the package can be a smaller gift or prize.

Rhyming Riddles Pass

Another fun version of the pass the parcel game is with a series of directions or rhyming riddles. In this game, directions are provided which where to start the package. Then as each new rhyme is read aloud, the parcel or package moves around the circle. You can have layers of the package where with each new player, a new layer can be unwrapped or you can have the package rotate the circle and at the end of the game, there is only one winner. This last person gets to unwrap the entire package.

Rhyming Pass the Parcel Game Tasks

To get a general idea of directions, take a look at these pass-the-parcel game task examples.

  • We will start this game with a little rhyme, who has known you the longest time?
  • A very important person gets to start the game, pass now to the one with the longest first & last name.
  • The first person to your right is wearing blue, Is now allowed to grab the parcel straight from you.
  • To be fair we have to share, Pass now to the person with the longest hair.
  • We know how time can get away. Pass to the one who had the most recent birthday.

Materials Needed for Pass the Parcel Game

To play Pass the Parcel, you will need the following materials:

  • Wrapping paper or reusable fabric bags
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Music player and fun music
  • Prize or gift to be placed in the center of the parcel
  • Printable Pass the Parcel Game Tasks
  • Optional: Small prizes in-between layers

Examples of smaller prizes between the layers of gift wrap can be candy bars, plastic toys, gift cards, chocolates, and lolli pops.

It is important to ensure that the wrapping paper or fabric bags used to wrap the parcel are of different designs and sizes. This will make it easier to distinguish between the different layers of wrapping paper and add an element of surprise to the game.

Looking for fun and meaningful ways to celebrate the birth of Jesus with kids this Christmas season? These Happy Birthday Jesus activities are perfect for parents, Sunday school teachers, and Christian educators who want to incorporate faith-based crafts and lessons into their holiday traditions.

birhtday ideas for jesus during christmas

The Christmas season is a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Jesus with your children, reminding them of the true reason behind all the festivities. Whether you’re a parent, youth leader, or Sunday school teacher, finding meaningful activities that combine fun and faith can enrich the Christmas experience for children and help them understand the significance of Jesus’ birth. In this blog post, we’ll explore a range of exciting and faith-filled activities designed to celebrate Jesus’ birthday and make the Christmas season more memorable.

The Birth of Jesus: A Celebration of God’s Greatest Gift

Before diving into the activities, let’s take a moment to reflect on the heart of the Christmas story. Over 2,000 years ago in a little town called Bethlehem, the greatest gift the world had ever known was born—Jesus, the Son of God. Christ’s birth marked the fulfillment of ancient prophecies, bringing hope, peace, and salvation to humanity.

In the hustle and bustle of modern Christmas celebrations, it can be easy to lose sight of this miraculous event. That’s why celebrating Jesus’ birthday can be a meaningful tradition for families, churches, and classrooms. By focusing on the birth of Jesus, children can learn the true meaning of Christmas and why it’s more than just presents under the tree—it’s about the ultimate gift of love that God gave us through His Son.

What are Kids’ Activities Ideas for the Birth of Jesus?

In addition to the crafts we’ll be exploring from our Happy Birthday Jesus Activity Set, there are many other exciting ways to engage children and make the birth of Jesus a central part of your holiday traditions. These activities range from creative crafts to fun songs, all designed to bring the Nativity story to life and help children connect with Jesus during the Christmas season.

1. Nativity Scene Play

Create a simple Nativity play with the kids in your family or Sunday school class. Assign roles like Mary, Joseph, shepherds, angels, and the wise men, and reenact the story of Jesus’ birth. This activity not only helps children understand the biblical narrative but also encourages them to step into the roles of key figures in the story. Kids love dressing up and acting out the story, and it’s a wonderful way to engage their imaginations while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas.

2. Nativity-Themed Games

Games are a great way to get kids excited about learning! Try playing a game of Pin the Star Over Bethlehem, where children take turns trying to place a star sticker or cutout on a Nativity scene. You could also create a Christmas scavenger hunt where kids search for items related to the Nativity story (like a manger, a baby doll, and a star). These games add a layer of fun while reinforcing the key elements of the birth of Jesus.

3. Christmas Carols about Jesus

Singing is a fun way to celebrate Jesus’ birth! Gather a list of Christmas carols that specifically focus on the birth of Christ, like “Away in a Manger,” “Silent Night,” and “Joy to the World.” Incorporating carols into your celebration can help children focus on Jesus Christ and understand the joy His birth brings. Consider organizing a Christmas carol sing-along with your family or church group as a way to celebrate the season.

4. Storytime with the Nativity

Set aside time to read the Christmas story from the Bible (Luke 2:1-20) or from a children’s Nativity book. For younger children, use a Nativity coloring wheel to tell the Bible story of Jesus’ birth. After reading, ask the kids questions to help them think about the meaning behind the story, such as “Why was Jesus born in a stable?” or “What did the angels tell the shepherds?” This quiet activity offers a reflective moment during the busy holiday season.

5. Star Craft

A simple craft that kids will love is creating a Bethlehem star! Using paper, foil, or glitter, let kids design and cut out their very own star. You can then hang these stars around your home or classroom as a reminder of the star that led the wise men to Jesus. As the children create, share with them the significance of the star in the Nativity story and how it symbolized hope and guidance.

Fun & Faith-Filled Activities from the Happy Birthday Jesus Activity Set

Now, let’s look at a set of hands-on, fun, and creative activities that will make celebrating Jesus’ birthday an unforgettable experience for kids. These activities are perfect for Sunday school, kids’ ministry, homeschool lessons, or family Christmas celebrations, allowing children to engage in meaningful, Christ-centered activities that spark joy and faith.

1. Happy Birthday Jesus Flip Book

The Happy Birthday Jesus Flip Book (on Etsy too) is a fun and educational way to teach children about the many gifts Jesus is to us. With each flip, children will discover six key attributes of Jesus: Savior, Teacher, Friend, King, Healer, and God’s Gift. Each page can be colored in, making it a hands-on activity that kids will love while learning about who Jesus is and why we celebrate His birth.

Parents and teachers can encourage kids to reflect on what each attribute means and how Jesus’ birth brings these gifts to life. After completing the flip book, children will have a beautiful keepsake to remind them of the true meaning of Christmas.

2. 3D Pop-Up Happy Birthday Jesus Card

Who doesn’t love a pop-up card? This fun and interactive 3D pop-up Birthday Card for Jesus (on Etsy too) allows kids to craft a cute note for Jesus. The card features Jesus wearing a party hat, making it a playful way to celebrate His special day. Children can choose between black-and-white versions to color or pre-colored versions to assemble.

Inside the card, they can add one of three fun messages:

  • You’re the B(ethlehem)est gift of all!
  • The original Christmas miracle—no wonder you’re the star of the show!
  • Thank you for being the perfect gift!

They also can add their own message. As they create and assemble their cards, kids will be reminded of Jesus’ role as the greatest gift ever given.

3. Gospel Message Newspaper

This unique newspaper-style craft presents the birth of Jesus in a creative way, making it feel like a headline story! The “On the Day You Were Born” Jesus newspaper (on Etsy too) gives kids a fun and engaging way to learn about the events surrounding Jesus’ birth. It features key details like the visit of the shepherds, the appearance of the star, and the arrival of the wise men.

Not only is this a great craft for learning about the Nativity, but it also includes a simple explanation of the gospel message. This makes it a perfect tool for sharing the Good News with children and introducing them to the significance of Jesus’ birth.

4. Happy Birthday Jesus Handprint Craft with Cupcake

happy birthday jesus handprint art for Christmas

In this craft, children use their handprints to create a colorful cupcake design with the message “Happy Birthday Jesus.” It’s a sweet way to remind kids that Christmas is a celebration of Jesus’ birth, and it’s also a keepsake for parents or grandparents to cherish. The Christmas handprint craft (on Etsy too) comes with a holly border to give it a festive feel, making it perfect for classroom displays or holiday decorations.

Not only is this a creative and personal craft, but it also gives kids the chance to reflect on how they can use their hands to honor Jesus. They can talk about ways to help others or serve God, tying the activity back to the true spirit of Christmas.

5. Happy Birthday Jesus Party Banner

No birthday celebration is complete without a party banner! The Happy Birthday Jesus Party Banner adds a festive touch to any room, whether you’re hosting a birthday party for Jesus at home, in church, or in a classroom. The colorful letters and bright design will bring joy to the space and help kids focus on the reason for the season.

This banner can be displayed as part of a larger birthday celebration for Jesus, complete with cake, music, and activities. It’s a simple yet impactful way to set the stage for a Christ-centered Christmas celebration.

6. Happy Birthday Jesus Party Hat

Kids will love wearing these fun party hats as they celebrate Jesus’ birthday! The hats come with the message “Happy Birthday Jesus,” and children can color or decorate their own hats to wear during the celebration. It’s a great way to make them feel part of the party and reinforce the focus on Jesus as the guest of honor.

This activity can be incorporated into a larger birthday party for Jesus, where children can sing “Happy Birthday” and enjoy treats while reflecting on the joy of Jesus’ birth.

Grab the entire Happy Birthday Jesus Craft Set (on Etsy too)!

More Birth of Jesus Activities & Resources

If you’re looking for even more ways to celebrate Jesus’ birth with your family or church, here are a few additional ideas to explore:

Advent Calendar for Kids

An Advent calendar is a wonderful way to build anticipation for Christmas while keeping the focus on Jesus. Each day leading up to Christmas, you can read a Bible verse or do a small activity that helps children understand the significance of the Nativity story. Creating a Homemade Advent Calendar is a great way to establish a Christ-centered tradition in your home.

Christian-Focused Family Elf Ideas

For families who participate in The Elf on the Shelf tradition, there are creative ways to make it more Christ-centered. Have your elf do activities that point to the birth of Jesus, like setting up a Nativity scene, reading the Bible, or sharing the message of love and kindness. This twist on the popular holiday tradition helps kids remember what Christmas is all about. You can also try alternative ideas to The Elf on the Shelf.

Jesus Birthday Cakes

What better way to celebrate a birthday than with cake? Making a birthday cake for Jesus is a sweet tradition that families can do together. You can bake a simple cake and sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus as a way of honoring His birth. Decorating the cake with symbols of the Nativity or the cross can add even more meaning to the celebration.

Nativity Coloring Wheel Craft

nativity story craft coloring wheel for kids

A Nativity coloring wheel is a creative and educational activity that helps kids learn about the birth of Jesus in a visual way. Each section of the wheel can focus on a different part of the story, such as Mary and Joseph, the shepherds, the angels, or the wise men. Kids can color each section while hearing the Nativity story, making it both fun and meaningful.

The Christmas season provides a beautiful opportunity to focus on Jesus’ birth and celebrate the gift of salvation He brings. These Happy Birthday Jesus activities offer fun, creative, and faith-filled ways to help children understand and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or youth leader, incorporating these Christmas crafts and activities into your holiday celebrations will create lasting memories while keeping Christ at the center.

How to Play 5 Second Games

Take a game night to the next level with this fun 5-second game printable. Each fast-paced party game printable set comes with 156 five-second question cards. This equates to good fun and continuous game time for family and friends!

fun five second rule game ideas printable pdf questions

Do you love to play games with family and friends? If this is the case, then you’re going to love the challenge of 5 Second Games. This mental exercise game isn’t invented by me. However, I  do have several versions to complete the entertainment for your themed party.

What is a 5-second game?

what is a five second game and how to play

The 5 Second Game is a fast-paced and fun word association game. It requires quick thinking and fast talking. In this fun and fast-paced game, you have 5 seconds to come up with three one-word answers. Often, a five-second game is commonly mistaken as a Name 3 game. This is because you have five seconds to quickly name three things.

5 Second Games takes speed and sharp thinking to get points. They’re great for parties, family get-togethers, or just a fun way to spend some extra time with activities between transitions.

What are the 5-second rules?

The 5-second game is a good time. It’s memorable and fun for all. The instructions for this fast-paced game are simple. You have five seconds to name three things in this fun word association game. Sounds easy, right?  Well, while the questions are simple, you need to be careful. This quick guessing game leads to a tongue-tie and easy answers turn into silly answers and lots of laughter.

Generally, the rules of a 5-second game are simple. Take a look at these two options for 5-second game directions.

Objective:

Be the team or individual to score the most points by giving three answers in five seconds.

Option 1:

Sit players in a circle. The youngest player is first in the “Hot Seat,” and the play will move to the right. The player to the left of the Hot Seat player draws a game card and reads it aloud. All cards begin with “Name 3” followed by random categories. For example, the Card may read, “Name 3 ice cream flavors”. As soon as the card is read, the first player answers 3 flavors of ice cream in 5 seconds or under. If you say 3 correct answers before the timer, you get one point. To keep track of points, keep the card in front of you. If the player in the hot seat is only able to name one or two answers before 5 seconds are up, they get no points, and the play moves to the right. For the next attempt, the second player gets 5 seconds to try to answer the same question. The tricky part is that the new player in the Hot Seat cannot use any answers that were previously used for that card. Play continues to the next player and around the circle until someone can name 3 in 5 seconds and wins a point. The person to the right of the original player then becomes the new player in the Hot Seat and gets to start with a different card. The player to their left draws a Card and reads it aloud. And so the play continues.

Option 2:

Play the same as option 1 but allow the game to continue. For example, each person after the first hot seat player must name 3 ice cream flavors without repeating any flavors listed before. This can continue for a while.

The end of the game arrives when you run out of cards (or the end of the party – there are a lot of questions here!) Winners will have the most points. You can have individual winners or team winners. Just make sure you have a prize!

Tip: Consider splitting into smaller groups for a large group of people. Since ridiculous answers can be debated, consider having a game host and team captains for each group. The host (as well as the input from team captains) can help decide what is an acceptable answer and quickly omit funny answers.

What are good 5-second game questions?

five second rule questions printable cards

Five-second games require you to name three things within, you guessed it, five seconds. This requires quick thinking and fast-talking as you react quickly to incoming questions.

  • Name three countries in Europe
  • Name three famous actors
  • Name three colors of the rainbow
  • Name three items you would find in a kitchen
  • Name three members of the Avengers
  • Name three animals that live in the sea
  • Name three body organs
  • Name three Florida cities
  • Name three English words ending in “ly”
  • Name three sports teams from different countries
  • Name three famous Michaels
  • Name three breeds of dogs

The difficulty of the 5-second rule questions can vary based on the game set you choose – junior (or young kids) all the way to adults. In addition, for five-second game questions that have many answers, the question can be passed on to player after player in a game circle.

What do I need for a 5 second game?

The supplies needed for a five-second game are few. you need 5-second game questions like the ones mentioned above and a timer. It’s important that your timer displays seconds and not only minutes. Most smartphones will have a timer you can use to count down from five. if this is not available on your cellphone then pick up a countdown timer with seconds.

Instead of everyone yelling stop, consider using a sound effect when the time stops. This can be accomplished with a timer that makes noise or a game buzzer.

A laminator is an optional supply for your five-second games. If you laminate the set using laminating sheets, you can keep it for a long time. After multiple uses, your cards will still look brand new. After my husband and kids, my laminator is my best friend. A must-have in most homes!

super fun youth group games for kids

Youth group games are an important aspect of any youth program. They provide a fun and engaging way for young people to connect with each other, build relationships, and develop important life skills. Youth group games can be used to teach teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and leadership, among other things.

There are many different types of youth ministry games, ranging from classic outdoor games like Capture the Flag and Dodgeball to more complex team-building activities and problem-solving challenges like 5-second Bible trivia. The best youth group games are those that are inclusive, easy to learn, and adaptable to different group sizes and skill levels. They should also be age-appropriate and aligned with the goals and values of the youth program, the Bible, and of course, Jesus!

Whether you are a youth leader looking to plan a fun and engaging activity for your group, or a parent looking for ideas to keep your kids entertained and connected with their peers, youth group games are a great option to consider. With the right games and activities, you can create a positive and supportive environment that encourages young people to learn, grow, and thrive.

Understanding Youth Group Games

Youth group games are a popular way to engage and entertain young people in a group setting. These games can be used as icebreakers, team-building exercises, or just for fun. Understanding the basics of youth group games can help leaders plan successful events that will keep participants engaged and excited.

One important aspect of youth ministry games is that they should be inclusive and accessible to all participants. This means that the games should be designed to accommodate different skill levels and physical abilities. When games become challenging, consider pairing younger kids and older kids together. This creates teamwork and a mix of skill levels.

Another important consideration is the purpose of the game. Is it meant to encourage teamwork and cooperation, or is it just for fun? Are you creating a game to summarize a bible chapter or lesson? Understanding the goal of the game can help leaders select appropriate activities and ensure that participants are engaged and motivated. In most cases, traditional Minute to Win It Games can be adapted to fit biblical themes and Sunday school lessons.

When selecting games, it is also important to consider the size of the group and the available space. Some group games may require a large open space (like an auditorium or an outdoor field), while others can be played in a smaller space (like a classroom.) Leaders should also consider the age range of the participants and select games that are appropriate for their developmental level.

Let’s look at some examples of the best youth group games you might want to bring to your ministry.

Choosing the Right Game

youth group ideas for games

When it comes to organizing games for a youth group, choosing the right game is crucial for a successful event. Here are some tips to help you select the right game for your group:

Consider the Age Group and Interests of Participants

The age group of your youth group will play a significant role in the type of game you choose. Younger children may not have the attention span for complicated games, while older teenagers may be more interested in games that involve strategy and competition. Additionally, consider the interests of your participants. If your group is full of sports enthusiasts, games that involve physical activity may be a hit. If your group is more creative, consider games that involve art or music.

Determine the Group Size and Space Available

The size of your group and the space available will also impact the type of game you choose. Games that require a lot of space may not be suitable for smaller groups or indoor game locations. Similarly, games that require a lot of equipment may not be feasible if you have a limited budget or space.

Keep Safety in Mind

Safety should always be a top priority when selecting games for a youth group. Avoid games that may be dangerous or involve physical contact that could lead to injury. Make sure to provide proper supervision and equipment for any games that involve physical activity.

Fun youth group games are an excellent way to promote teamwork, build relationships, and have fun. With a wide variety of games available, it’s easy to find one that fits your group’s interests and needs. One popular game that’s liked by all kids of different ages and genders is one-minute games. Minute to Win It Games have taken over the population and they can easily be adapted to holidays, special occasions, and more.

Adult games can be used at ice breakers, team-building activities, birthday party entertainment, and “just because” memories. One type of adult game that can easily become pulled together is a scavenger hunt.

Scavenger hunts are a came full of clues or a list of items that can be quickly collected. These items can be collected in an order using rhyming riddles and clue cards. The collected items don’t have to be picked up and alternatively, they can be photographed as photographic evidence. Lastly, they can be collected as physical objects. Scavenger hunts can be a race against the clock or against another team. They require a competitive spirit, problem-solving skills, and a bit of humor.

The benefits of scavenger hunts are the way they bring people together and improve relationships. The size of the group doesn’t necessarily matter. A bit of friendly competitive spirit can be found between a couple or between an entire team.  Scavenger hunts stimulate the brain and boost one’s mood. They create instant connection and a feeling of accomplishment.

Pull out that inner child and take a look at these creative adult treasure hunts. These adult scavenger hunt ideas include both virtual and in-person ideas.

How do you make an interesting scavenger hunt for adults?

When you are ready to hold a scavenger hunt for adults, you want to ensure it’s engaging and enjoyable. A few scavenger hunts require setup. Many scavenger hunts can be printed and instantly played. Before planning an adult scavenger hunt, consider your audience, your players, and the environment where you want the treasure hunt to take place.

how to plan a fun adult scavenger hunt

To guide you on creating an interesting hunt, follow these basic tips for hosting an adult scavenger hunt.

Step 1: Choose a Location

To being the process of hosting a scavenger hunt, choose your location. Will this be outdoors, indoors, at a venue, or at a special location? Knowing the location of your event, helps you decide what types of clues to have. Will your clues lead to a garden house or a popular store in the mall?

Step 2: Choosing a Theme for your Scavenger Hunt

Once you have the location, consider the occasion. If this is for a special occasion, it might easily establish your scavenger hunt theme. For example a baby shower or birthday party. However, if you have no special occasion or holiday, then you open the possibility of treasure hunt themes – let’s go camping, lake life, red, white, and blue, or even mall madness. Get creative. Your location can help you.

Step 3: Choose your Type of Scavenger Hunt

Once you understand your scavenger hunt location and theme, it’s time to plan the type of scavenger hunt you want. There are two main styles – a scavenger hunt checklist and scavenger hunt clue cards.

When finding items, you can use both physical and virtual items. Virtual items mean one can pick up a smartphone and quickly find something they need on Google. Virutal can also include creating a photo scavenger hunt where only photographic evidence counts.

If creating your own scavenger hunt clues and list of items feels daunting to you, then pre-built scavenger hunt list and customize it. Some of our scavenger hunt sets include editable text for Adobe PDF. Or use pre-built scavenger hunt clues and roll with it adding none of your own personalized ideas and thoughts.

Step 4: Create a List of Scavenger Hunt Rules and Goals

When creating the rules for a scavenger hunt, consider your location, theme, team members, and goal for participation. Is this a team scavenger hunt, is this a race against the clock, or is only one person searching for clues?

Example rules for a scavenger hunt for grown-ups might include:

Time: Is there a time limit for the hunt? Is this man versus clock or team versus team? Can you keep your own pace?

Difficulty: If completing a checklist of activities or things to find, assign various points for each activity based on how hard your list of challenges is.

Participants: Make a list of tasks for the participants! Will your players work with team members or on their own?

Winners: Winners are assigned based on having the most points, completing the tasks first, or finishing the most activities in the set amount of time.

Considering all these things will help you put together your final rules

Step 5: Organize Your Scavenger Hunt Party + Event

Now that you know the location, time, place, theme, and rules, it is important to put it all together before your occasion starts. Download your scavenger hunt printable or create your own. Gather a few prize ideas and set up the clues and scavenger hunt if necessary.

Eventually, these letters can spell the baby’s first name for a name reveal. At the end of the hunt, you can have a gender reveal.  This can be a surprise for the guests or even the parents-to-be. You can also have fun baby shower party favors along the way. Or the mother-to-be can do the entire hunt herself and gather fun baby shower gifts along the way – what baby shower game would you choose?

These candy dice game printable ideas and fun dice game activities are perfect for all the various holidays of the year. Not only does this activity take out the stress of picking and choosing, but it leaves a little bit of tossing the dice luck as well. Dice game printables like this can be used for all the fun holidays in a simple and organized way! Check out all the options below – and get ready to print and let the fun begin!

huge list of fun candy dice games for kids

Using dice as a way to decide the fate of an activity or game never gets dull. In fact, rolling the dice is a simple way for kids and adults can feel as though they’re part of a game without the worry of having too much pressure at the same time.

Because let’s be honest. Sometimes, it’s really hard to decide what candy to choose or what gift to pick. Those decisions can make anyone feel like they’re frozen without an option, and this is where the dice come into play! (literally!)

Forget popular games or board games like Yahtzee, Farkle, and Bunco. The next time that there is a fun holiday or event coming up where there will be choices to be made, make a few dice cookies, and don’t forget to include these dice game printables and a set of dice. The printables will give the answers to the rolls of the dice, making it a great option for everyone to participate in.

Dice Game Rules

Candy dice game rules are simple and easy to follow. In fact, the dice game candy rules are printed and ready to use. Each person gets to take a turn rolling the dice, and whatever number is shown on that dice is matched with the number on the printable.

The only control that the person has is that they get to toss or roll the dice. After that, it’s all in how the dice land! In the gift exchanges, if you roll snake eyes with the dice, then you have to do what the dice game tells you to do for rolling that number. No ifs, and, or butts!

For each dice roll it might mean that you get candy, it could mean that you give candy, or it could mean that you are skipped and have to watch everyone else having and enjoying some of their candy. It’s all in the fun of the game! (and all are in good spirits as well because every roll will have everyone guessing and waiting as to what is going to happen)

Printable Dice Game Options

While I know I’m talking about candy dice game printables, don’t forget that dice games can be used for more than just candy. This type of group game is perfect for gift-giving and receiving as well!

If you’ve ever had a white elephant Christmas exchange, then you know the excitement of getting a gift that you have no idea what it is. When you add in some dice, it takes gift-giving and receiving to a whole new level!

Use a few of our birthday party or Christmas party games to exchange gag gifts or even birthday party favors.

Supplies

The best part about using dice game printables is that you just need a few simple supplies to get started!

  • Dice
  • Paper
  • Printer
  • Downloaded Dice Game Printables

You can easily start with one and then get the rest as the year goes along. I recommend printing on cardstock and then laminating the printable game. This makes it easier to use over and over again!

How do I play dice games?

Each of the candy dice game PDFs includes instructions. However, the concept is easy in this simple game. Add a bunch of candy (or candy bars) to the center of the table. Roll the dice. Look at your number. Follow the instructions.

Sample instructions include…

  • Take one candy
  • Put one candy back
  • Give any player one candy
  • Skip your turn
  • Take one candy from any player
  • Everyone takes one candy

Players will pull from the pile of candy (or each other) until they get the specific number of candies they need to win.

Can I play dice games without dice?

You might be wondering if can you play these dice games without dice (or a dice cup.) Dice games require some type of numeric roll with a six-sided dice however if you do not have dice, there are ways around this.

It’s very easy to roll dice using a dice app on your phone, by making your own paper dice out of a printable cube template, or by using a virtual dice-rolling website.

What is the order of the game?

On the dice game, the rules are listed. However, you can make it your own. You can decide the order of players in this group game. When playing with younger kids, the first player is usually the youngest. The next player is to their left (in clockwise order) or the next youngest player. Players take turns rolling the die. The object of the game is to collect candy or candy bars. The winner of the game gets the present or the most candy.

How many players are needed for these dice games?

The number of players really doesn’t matter but anything in between 3 to 5 players will work best. If you have more than 5 players, split up players into groups and each group will play their own game. If you play with fewer than 3 players, stealing things like candy from your “play of choice” will be really silly – you keep stealing and exchanging with the same person. It will make the end of the game come really quickly. In this case, just add a number of rounds to keep the game going.

Do I need to keep score in this game?

No piece of paper is needed to track the highest score other than the printable dice games. There is no total score in these popular dice game printables. The winner will either unwrap the present or get ten pieces of candy first.  You can create variations and add up the highest total and award prizes for the most points. Make it your own game and grab a piece of paper as a score sheet if this is the die score is the direction you go. It definitely adds math into the equation (no pun intended) if you are playing math games in the classroom.
