Do you remember the first time you tasted French Silk Pie? It’s lighter than mousse but, more dense than whipped cream and boy, oh boy is it GOOD! Now you can have all of that deliciousness in a bite sized French Silk Pie.  With a few simple ingredients you can have a tray full of these bites ready to take to a holiday party, for a movie night with the family or a sweet treat in the middle of the afternoon. Anyway you enjoy them, they’ll be devoured!

Chocolate French Silk Pie Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 sleeve chocolate graham crackers (9 sheets) **I used Honey Maid brand**
  • 2 sticks softened salted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar + 1 tbs
  • 2 ounces unsweetened bakers chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Directions:

For the crust:

  1. Microwave one stick of butter in a medium size mixing bowl until completely melted
  2. Pulse chocolate grahams in a food processor until they are fine crumbs
  3. Add chocolate graham cracker crumbs and 1 tbs granulated sugar to your melted butter and stir to incorporate
  4. Spray a mini muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray
  5. Fill each muffin tin with approximately 1 tbs of the graham cracker mixture.
  6. Press the cracker mixture into the bottom of each tin and up the sides to form a mini pie crust
  7. Place the mini muffin tin into the freezer to set

For the filling:

  1. Melt two ounces of unsweetened chocolate in a double boiler and set aside to cool.
  2. Cream one stick softened butter with 3/4 cup granulated sugar and one teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Add the melted and cooled unsweetened chocolate and mix until incorporated.
  4. Add one egg and beat with an electric mixer for five minutes being sure to scrape the sides down with a rubber spatula.
  5. Add the second egg and beat for five more minutes with an electric mixer.
  6. Put chocolate pie filling in the fridge to set for about 15 minutes.
  7. Fill each chocolate graham pie shell with one tablespoon of chocolate filling and return to fridge until set.
  8. (Optional) Top each pie bite with mini chocolate chips or chopped milk chocolate

Chocolate Covered Bacon Potato Chips

Chocolate Covered Bacon Potato Chip Treats Recipe

If you love the salty and sweet flavor combination, this treat is for you! The saltiness of the bacon and kettle potato chips twisted up with the sweetness of the marshmallows and chocolate drizzle will have you coming back for more. Think it’s weird? Just try it! We bet you’ll make the salty/sweet plunge! Whip up a batch for your next Game Day celebration, it will be a hit. It’s totally indulgent and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 7 oz. potato chips (I used Cape Cod Kettle Cooked Waffle Cut Potato Chips with Sea Salt)
  • 3 tbs salted butter
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 2 oz white baking chocolate
  • 2 oz semi sweet baking chocolate
  • 2 tbs bacon bits or crumbled freshly cooked bacon

Directions:

  1. Coat an 8 x 8 square baking pan with non stick cooking spray.
  2. Melt 3 tbs butter in a large saucepan.
  3. Add 4 cups mini marshmallows and stir constantly until melted.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add 7 ounces of potato chips to the marshmallow mixture and stir until all the chips are coated.
  6. Turn that mixture into your greased baking dish and use a piece of wax paper to press the potato mixture down.
  7. Melt your semi sweet baking chocolate in the microwave and drizzle over your potato chip mixture.
  8. Melt your white chocolate in the microwave and drizzle over the semi sweet chocolate.
  9. Sprinkle bacon on top.
  10. Allow your treats to cool completely before slicing and serving.
  11. Makes nine treats.

Note: I like to use kettle chips in this recipe. They are more sturdy than regular potato chips and hold up to the mixing.

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD

Online you can find ENDLESS Elf on the Shelf Accessories, Books, Games and Toys.

Twister Cake

Right hand on red, left foot on yellow! Does this sound like a familiar board game? Growing up, I used to love to play Twister! Players always ended up in the craziest positions, would fall to the ground, and we all would explode in laughter. This Twister Cake is perfect for a family game night, kid’s birthday party, or perhaps something as small as having a friend over.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Creamy vanilla frosting
  • Pre-made Red, blue, green, and yellow fondant (we got this one!)
  • Small 1″ circle cookie cutter

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 8 x 8″ cake pan with a non stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together your sugar and butter.
  3. Then mix in your vanilla extract and eggs one at a time.
  4. Now mix in your flour, baking powder, and milk.
  5. Pour your thick creamy batter into your pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, checking at 25 with a clean tooth pick.
  6. Let your cake cool and transferred to a cake platter.
  7. Frost with a creamy vanilla frosting.
  8. Roll out each color fondant in between two pieces of parchment paper and use a circle cookie-cutter to cut out four circles from each color (a total of 16 circles).
  9. Place your fun in circles on top of your cake like a twister mat: red, yellow, blue, and green columns.
