5 Minute Tutorial – Print Your Fonts into a Font Catalog

I am mildly obsessed with fonts. I use them often for creating Pinterest content for the blog but a good font is also pretty awesome for Christmas Cards, Baby Announcements and Birthday Invitations.

I am often grabbing free fonts I find on the web or I purchase a few I can’t live without. The newest place I have found fonts that I cannot live without are from Font Bundles. They have some of the prettiest and most amazing fonts. They are great inspiration for hand lettering or chalk lettering.

I also love Creative Market. Creative market is great for fonts you can use personally or commercially. They also have amazing resources including graphics, templates, photos and more. It’s an online marketplace where creators sell to creators.

Now that you have some amazing fonts on your computer, you might be wondering how do I print a font from my computer? First it’s good to know the amazing fonts you have, then you can start adding fonts to things like documents, graphics and more.

How do I create a list of fonts?

Whether your are purchasing fonts, downloading free ones or just want to create a quick catalog of all the fonts you have on your computer, I found this app and it is so incredibly easy to create a list of fonts. As a font hoarder, this font catalog tutorial took me less than 5 minutes and I printed out a catalog of 20 pages of cute fonts for me to reference.

To get your FREE Font Catalog, go here to Stefan Trost Media. The program will lead you to this page.

On this page, scroll to the bottom. I downloaded (clicked) PrintMyFontsforWindows (as seen above). This is because I have a Windows computer. If you have a Mac or another program, you can see what program is recommended for your computer. The program downloaded to my download folder. I had to open that folder and extract the program. You can then open the application PrintMyFonts.

One thing I liked about this program was you could decide what you print. Look for the box “Text written in the Font” I wrote the above font using my blog name. However, I printed the names of my fonts in the font style. But you could write your name, you could do something like the “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” (that phrase gives you ever letter of the alphabet) or you could print each letter form A to Z in the font style. Use the drop down arrow and decide how you want your catalog to look.

If you don’t want it to print, you can also save it as a PDF. I saved a back up one to my documents on my computer. You can decide a JPG, RTF, BMP etc. Under Print, I can print to my computer or save it to a PDF.

Is this so easy?! For me personally, it will help me with my Pinterest creations, but I think for many of you it will be good for those who create documents, use vinyl machines, craft and so much more!

Christmas has become lost in the commercialization of the season. My family and I have worked hard to return to the reason we celebrate Christmas. The coming of Christ. One way we have done that is through a Birthday cake for Jesus.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Christmas Traditions

We began the Jesus Birthday Cake Christmas Tradition in 2012 when my girls were 3 and 4 years old. There wasn’t much on Pinterest, it was pre the dawn of Kid’s Baking Championship, and we baking that cake like a box cake mix champ. In sweet fashion, though, my girls wanted the picture shared with the world of social media. I took their photo and my daughter asked… “Mom, are you sending that picture to baby Jesus?” Yes, sweet girl. I am. Consider that cake seen and loved!

If you are in the early age of beginning Christmas traditions, cross cookies for Santa off your list and make a Birthday cake for Jesus. You could even leave a piece for Santa on Christmas Eve. It’s an excellent way to focus on the reason for the season and bring it all back home to why we celebrate Christmas.

Symbolism in Jesus Birthday Cakes

While all of these cakes might just look like another Christmas cake or nativity scene, many offer symbolism in the colors and shapes. Take a look at these cake characteristics that tell the story of Christ.

Jesus Birthday Cake Colors and Shapes

Chocolate Layer – The darkness represents all people have sinned.

Red Layer – The red color reminds us that the blood of Jesus was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.

Green Layer – When we accept Jesus, we have new life in Jesus and begin to grow.

Round Cake Shape – Jesus came to the world. The cake shape is round, a circle that is never ending. Just like God’s love.

White Frosting – Righteousness and purity of Jesus covers all our sins. Our sin is covered over by the Jesus who died for our sins. Our sin is washed white as snow.

Red Heart – Christians are Jesus’ messengers and witnesses. Christ first loved us so we are called to follow His example and love others.

Gold Star – The star of Bethlehem that pointed the wise men the way to Jesus. Wise men still follow him today.

Candles – Jesus is the light of the world. Let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father in heaven.

I changed my media to 8.5×10 and the media to 67 lb coverstock (I prefer a cardstock feel over printer paper feel.)
Select add to cart.
Proceed to checkout. My total was $0.17 for one print. You can choose to ship to your home or to pick up at your local store. Pay online and show your invoice when you pick up (I just show the order number on my phone at pick-up.) The order invoice will arrive in your email inbox.

So Elf on the Shelf in our home has become exposed. It was a Christmas tradition when the kids were younger and I am sorta grateful for the truth of Santa (and Elf) being revealed. An Advent Calendar was something that came late to us in Christmas Traditions. It was something I did growing up by lighting a Christmas candle and because I was unaware of other types of calendars, it wasn’t a tradition we formed in our own home until my girls adopted it on their own.

What is Advent?

Advent means the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event. For Christmas, the season of Advent is the time of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas. In Latin, Advent means coming. For Christmas, this is the coming of Christ or the birth of Jesus. Christians use this season of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas. The birth of Christ.

What is an Advent Calendar?

An Advent Calendar is a popular Christmas Tradition for Families. Typically beginning on December 1st, an Advent calendar is a 24-day calendar used to count the days of Advent in anticipation of Christmas. The start date of a religious Advent calendar can vary year to year based on the church, but in every day American tradition, the calendar begins on the first day of December.

On each additional day of advent, a box (envelope, bag, present) is opened. There is only one opening a day. The point of the calendar is not to countdown, but rather to count up towards the days before Christmas. The internet is big on the debate of, do you start with the first number (one) or with the highest number on the calendar. While the entire Advent community is torn, as a family we have started with day one. Think about it like this: if you were using candles for your advent calendar, you’d want to end up with 24 lit candles, not one candle lit.

Homemade Advent Calendar DIY

More and more the tradition of Advent Calendars are beginning to stick. While it used to be hard to find an advent calendar, they can commonly be found online (like Amazon) or in stores like Kohl’s and Target. How to Create Printable Verses from Bible Gateway

The majority of this post is how to find adorable bible coloring pages with verses, but I also wanted to share with you how to create printable verses from Bible Gateway that you do not color.

It is incredibly easy to print bible verses from books and chapters you want. You can easily create a printer-friendly version of many pages on Bible Gateway.

On the Bible Gateway home page you will see a share icon located to the right of the Verse of the Day. This looks like a square box with an arrow. Tapping on this share icon will show the share and print options. You can share to Twitter, Facebook, over email or print.

Select the print option and a printer-friendly page will pop up. From here you can print as you normally would an internet page. For PC, right click and select print. You can choose your printer or choose save as a PDF.

For printing books or verses, there is a print icon which also opens to a printer-friendly page.
