Twist your traditional American Flag Cake with these Fourth of July cupcakes. Everyone gets their own dessert and you don’t have to supply a knife and plates – cleaner and individual size only means you can ask for seconds! More please!

American Flag Cake – Fourth of July Cupcakes

Fourth of July American flag Cupcakes

What is it you always make for July 4th? One traditional recipe we make is Red, White, and Blue Dipped OREOs. They are easy and who doesn’t love a good OREO recipe.

When gathering your Fourth of July Recipes, you will want to have the traditional American Flag Cake – I mean what’s more patriotic than stars and stripes. In this case, we gift you the adorable food craft of mini cakes – aka Fourth of July Cupcakes. These are the perfect touch of Red, White and Blue to add to your food table!

These American Flag Cupcakes are tasty, easy, but also add decor to your July fourth tablescape knocking two birds out with one stone!

See another American Flag Cake idea in our Red, White and Blue Foods for July 4th!

Red White and Blue American Flag Cakes

No many ingredients are necessary. We prepared our own vanilla cupcakes, but if you are feeding a crowd, most grocery stores will make vanilla cupcakes for you. Just ask them to hold the icicng and decorations.

American Flag Cupcakes Ingredients:

  • Prepared Cupcakes
  • White vanilla frosting
  • Twizzlers Pull ‘n’ Peel Candy
  • Blue Chocolate Pearl Candy (we used Navy Sixlets)

Use leftover Twizzlers to make our Go Fishing Cakes or Giant Squid Cupcakes.

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get so tired of printed the same recipe over and over.

Easy Mickey Mouse Pizza

Mickey Mouse Pepperoni Pizza Recipe

It’s my daughter’s 11th birthday. How does that happen? I swear the years flew by (I know we all say that!) Since our family unit has increased, going out to restaurants for a child’s birthday isn’t a pleasant experience. Thus, I try to find creative ways I can celebrate her (and all my kids’ birthdays) at home with a special dinner.

Kids’ Baking Championship has turned my kids into gourmet chefs. Okay, maybe everything isn’t gourmet, but food crafts are all the rage in our home. The kids love to get in there and “design” their food. This recipe allows for that! Have fun with the kids making this Easy Mickey Mouse Pizza. Whether preparing for a Disney Trip or just needing an excuse for a cute dinner idea.

This recipe goes well with our Copycat Disney Recipes. The majority of these recipes are found in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, but some are just tried and true mickey shaped and Disney themed recipes.

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough, homemade or store-bought refrigerated
  • Pizza sauce, homemade or store-bought (see our Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe)
  • Mozzarella cheese, about 3 cups
  • Pepperoni
  • Mini Pepperoni

Easy Buttery Popcorn Cupcakes – Creamy, sweet and topped with popcorn shaped marshmallows, this dessert is the perfect addition to a movie party, circus themed party, backyard movie night or family game night.

Popcorn Cupcakes

You know what has been my most favorite things about the kids growing up. They now can get in the kitchen and bake… and guess what?! They love it! I do too. Last week my daughter made lime sugar cookies with a lime butter cream frosting. This was using ingredients we had in the house too! So lately, I have been pinning more than just dinner recipes. I have been pinning baking recipes I want them to bake instead of me.

I wanted them to make these Popcorn Cupcakes for our Family Game Night.  I also thought they would go perfect with a Backyard Movie Night, as well. But honestly, the possibilities are endless. Bake for an Oscar Night Movie Party, Circus Themed Party, or even a Girls Sleepover!

Enjoy!

See these cupcakes in our Backyard Movie Ideas for the Outdoors and our Family Game Night Snack Ideas.

Notes

Cherry it up! We do not add cherry favoring to this cupcake, but it’s easy to do so. One idea is to bake a cherry inside the cupcake before baking. Make sure to remove the stem. You can also substitute your vegetable oil for cherry pie filling when baking your chocolate cupcakes

Cherry Chocolate Cupcakes Directions:

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners inside the red and white cupcake holders (make sure the cupcake holders can go in the oven and if not just place baked cupcakes into the cupcake holders).

Prepare the cake batter by mixing the cake mix with butter, eggs, vegetable oil and water as directed on the box.

Next, fill each cupcake liner almost full with the batter and bake for 18-20 minutes (keep an eye on the paper cups in the oven).

Carefully remove the pan from the oven and the cupcakes from the pan to cool.

Place the large star decorating tip in the end of the bag and fill the bag with frosting.

Frost the cupcakes using the bag of frosting.

Finally, top the cupcakes off with sprinkles and a cherry.
