EOS Printable – Keep Cool This Summer

Looking for a cute end of the year gift for students or teachers alike? This fun printable incorporates eos lip balm a fun summer wish – keep cool this summer. Use traditional lip balm flavors including sweet mint, passion fruit, strawberry sorbet or tangerine.

Most eos lip balms cost about about $3, so if you are doing this for an entire classroom, expect to pay about $60. You can buy eos bulk on Amazon, but I am not seeing it for much less than $3. In fact, some of the bulk packages cost over $3/piece. You might be best running up to target and adding a bunch to your shopping cart. I saw them both in the health (near the band-aids) section, on end caps and also near checkout. At Walgreens, I have seen them for B1G1 50% off but they were at $3.99/piece. That would make each the same price as Target (not on sale at $2.99/each.)

If the price becomes too high for you to give to an entire classroom, consider use for a smaller gathering of friends or gift to a teacher! She will appreciate one in her pool bag this summer!

eos Keep Cool This Summer Directions:

Cut out the circle inside your ice cream and insert your eos Lip Balm. I cut a little bit beyond the circle to get the balm to fit.

I like to order my prints at Staples. It saves on ink and is only a few short miles from my home. I pick-up at the store, but of course you can upload them online and then have them shipped to your home.

These Baby Milestone Monthly Printables are adorable for photographing a baby’s age. Download this freebie for yourself or print as a shower gift with an 8×10 frame.

With all five of my kids, I have done monthly photos in a chair since they were born. In fact, just four months ago I took my last set of monthly photos for the twins – where does time go? It was shocking to me that I would no longer be taking one of these photos again. I calculated how much I spent on these age stickers and decided I wanted to give you all a more frugal option for monthly milestones.

We put together two sets of monthly printables for your baby – one pink and one blue so you can use it for your boy or girl. These printables are on 8.5 x 11 paper so you can frame each month in an 8×10 frame. You can print at home or send to Staples to save some money on ink. Go to Start Project.
Go to Documents Printing. Select Browse.
Select the Buy Now Button under color.
On the left column, choose add file.
Select upload.
Select done.
Give your job a name.
Make sure your project is single sided. The orientation should be portrait.
I changed my media to 8.5×10 and the media to 67 lb cover stock (I prefer a card stock feel over printer paper feel.)
Select add to cart.
Proceed to checkout. My total was $0.65 for one print. You can choose to ship to your home or to pick up at your local store. Pay online and show your invoice when you pick up (I just show the order number on my phone at pick-up.) The order invoice will arrive in your email inbox.

I recently saw a meme about a mom announcing “screen time is over.” The image of this meme was depicting a grown man in a toddler fit. It gave me a good chuckle. Can you relate?

No matter the age of your child, I am sure we can all relate to temper tantrums once screen time has been declared over. In many cases, the temper tantrum is my own as screen time allows me (as a parent and at-home working mother) to get things accomplished… you can relate to this too, right?

If screen time or the end of screen time in your home is a real juggling act, we have technology tickets that might create incentives, rewards, and structure in your home.

What is the definition of Screen Time?

The screen time definition is pretty straightforward. Let’s try to definite it without using the words. Screen time is the number of minutes that one spends on an electronic device which can include a computer, television, iPhone, tablet, gaming system, or Kindle.

Is Screen Time Bad for Kids?

Yes and no. Just like chocolate and sweets, everything that is for you can either be good or bad. It must be used in moderation.

There are a few reasons individuals might express why too much screen time is bad.

Why screen time is bad…

It can affect vision
There is a rumor it makes tics worse
It can cause aggression
It can create ADHD
It creates an inability to focus

While I have listed a few reasons people do not prefer screen time, I am not going to go over the reasons screen time is bad. In fact, you can quickly do a web search and get plenty of reasons your child should not have screen time. That is up to you.

As a former teacher and mother of five, I am here to show you why screen time is actually good for kids.

Benefits of screen time include…

Learning to focus
An ability to sit still
Education Learning
Rewards

So clearly there are good and bad reasons for screen time, now let’s talk about how to do it in moderation.

Screen Time Rules

Knowing the rules of screen time can save you from the temper tantrum we mentioned above.

If screen time is a reward and certain limits are expected, it’s important to go over rules and expectations with kids. If your kids know their expectations then they know what is to come.

Family Rules for Screen Time might include…

Staying in safe online environments
Not talking with other people online
Not going to cat rooms
Setting a timer for screen time
Completing responsibilities first

Scholastic actually has a good resource of screen time rules when creating some that work for your family.

Two things that I have found helpful in my own struggle with screen time, are giving the children control and also letting the child know how much time they will have beforehand. When I share the amount of time they can play, my kids are not caught off guard when time is officially up because they began “playing” knowing they only had x number of minutes. While this has not solved all my parenting problems, holding true to time has been really helpful.

Let your kids take charge. For example, when our kids get screen time, they set up an alarm on the kid’s Alexa to go alert them when their time is up. This allows me to not keep track of time and also gives them their own responsibility to monitor their time and get off when their time is up. Before beginning their game, they say “Alexa, tell me when 30 minutes is over” …and that is what she does! Tip: You can also work on Alexa giving them a 25-minute reminder, in addition, so they know they need to wind down where they are in the game.

A laminator is a great resource for digital downloads. It allows you to keep the product for a long time without damaging the print.

Consider printing on white cardstock printer paper to keep your kid’s screen time tickets durable and strong.

Color will vary by printer. I like to order my prints at Staples. It saves on ink and is only a few short miles from my home. I pick up the item in the store, but you can also upload them online and then have them shipped to your home.

While in the store the other day, we came across the cutest ruler design masking tape from Scotch Expressions. Though I had no reason for celebration, I had to pick it up for my girls’ teachers. I also wanted to pair a gift tag with some pun – I am glad I am stuck with you! As you know from my previous posts, I am a former teacher and always looking to show my kid’s teachers affirmations and thanks.

Always find a reason – Thankful Thursday

We made this as a Thankful Thursday gift. Just a creative way to show a teacher how much she is appreciation for no reason. It would also be cute as a Punny Teacher Gift Idea.

If you don’t have this masking tape, think of another item to pair with the gift tag. Glue, clear tape, candy, whatever is sticky and fun!

Stuck with You Supplies:

Your supplies are really optional, but these are the things we used for this Teacher Appreciation Gift.

You will also need a resource to print this. We suggest sending the order to Staples and printing on card stock. More on that below.

Stuck with You Directions:

Some of these directions are based up my own resources. Your directions will vary based on the supplies you use to make your teacher gift.

Take your Stuck with You printable. Cut out the gift tag and punch or cut a hole in the top of the tag.

Cut about four inches of curling ribbon.

Next, string your ribbon through the Scotch brand tape and the gift tag. Tie a knot and curl with scissors.

Cut off some tulle. We used about three inches. Tie around the curling ribbon and make a cute accent to your bow.

Finally, have your child sign their name and gift to a teacher.
