Tea for Two Tea-rrific Tea Party Ideas

Have you ever dreamed of going to a high tea in London? It’s such a treat to imagine spending an afternoon in a fashionable outfit with all the tea party food (and tea, of course) that you could want! I’m sure that most of you have memories of tea parties you put on as a child. The great thing about a tea party is that it never goes out of style!

This is your sign to relive your childhood tea parties, with a grown-up twist. If your little ones want to get involved and have a tea party of their own, save these ideas for their next playdate or birthday party! These ideas for tea and tea party food inspiration are amazing for any tea-riffic tea party. Pinkies up!

What is a tea party?

A tea party is a festive, tea-centric gathering. While it can take place anytime, it is often in the afternoon and includes tea party food, namely mini cakes, bite-sized sandwiches, and other light refreshments.

Tea parties are especially lovely in the spring and summer, and even better if they take place in a sunny outdoor area. An outdoor party idea is great for distancing but still coming together in celebration.

Of course, you can’t forget the tea!

What teas are best for a tea party?

If the day is hot, it may be best to opt for an iced tea. To become the ultimate host, let your guests select from a complete list of teas, including…

  • Earl Grey Tea
  • Herbal Tea
  • Green Tea
  • Lavender Tea
  • Rose Tea
  • Chamomile Tea
  • Mint Tea

While many herbal teas are naturally decaffeinated, make sure to include a completely decaf option for those who are sensitive to caffeine. Looking to go the extra mile and include all the fixings? Serve up your tea with your guests’ choice of lemon, a sugar cube, milk, honey, or edible flower infused ice cubes!

Which foods should you serve at a tea party?

Your traditional bites include finger sandwiches, mini cakes or pastries, and light refreshments. A tea party spread is typically meant to be a light meal rather than a gigantic, opulent spread, so there’s no need to go crazy! Quality over quantity is the best way to go for your tea party menu.

Typical tea party food includes…

  • Finger sandwiches
  • Mini cupcakes
  • Macaroons
  • Fruit salads
  • Biscuits, scones or tea cookies
  • Tarts
  • Sponge cakes

You’ll be ready to host a tea party fit for a queen with these ideas for tea! These Tea for Two Tea-rrific Tea Party Ideas will prepare you to host a fabulous garden party with your friends. Enjoy!

Quick High Protein Breakfast Recipes

If you are watching your waistline or desiring to eat healthier, these High Protein Breakfast Recipes are a great way to start your day. Save time and energy as they are not only quick but also easy for mornings on the go!

High Protein Breakfast Ideas

Why Eat a High Protein Breakfast?

Guys, I did it. I am back down to my pre-baby weight! After having my twins 18 months ago, I wanted to lose weight fast, and I knew I had to start with eating right. Now that I’ve accomplished my goal, I want to help others who are struggling with their pregnancy weight loss. While it wasn’t insanely difficult, it did take about six weeks of dedication and steadfast commitment. Besides fitness, the most important thing I changed was my diet, and adding high protein breakfast foods to my days made the world of a difference!

My Plan for Fast Weight Loss

I wanted to incorporate exercise into my weekly routine to make losing weight a lot faster, so I joined Orange Theory in September 2018. By late February 2019, I hadn’t lost much weight, but that didn’t concern me too much. Muscle is denser than fat —while they weigh the same, muscle takes up much less space —and I saw incredible changes in muscle and in my muscle tone. After six months of getting my body fit and toned, I turned my attention to my diet.

Following a High Protein Diet for Weight Loss

During the time I was breastfeeding, I was eating an entire pack of OREOs every two to three days (I wasn’t sharing either!). I needed the calories, but the sugar and fat were definitely not helping. I was only ten pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight, so I decided it was time to take the plunge and get rid of the remaining weight. Beach season was rapidly approaching and I wanted to look my bikini body best!

Counting calories is a huge no-no for me, but I made a point to eat less and in moderation. My most important meals were breakfast and lunch, which I made sure were packed with protein and nutrient-dense. Usually, I would have a protein shake or a protein bar to make it a quick, easy, nutritious meal replacement. I didn’t snack in between meals (getting Invisalign during this time helped with that), and then I ate the same dinner my family had. If they had fajitas, I traded the tortilla for lettuce for a healthy, low-calorie meal. If they ate pulled pork sandwiches, I tossed my pork over salad or only took half a bun to cut back on carbs without sacrificing protein.

My Quick Weight Loss Diet

By being strict on my diet plan to lose weight, I was able to do it QUICKLY (that was important —because we all want to lose weight fast and easily) and effectively. I drank a lot of Bubly, which has zero calories and zero sweeteners BUT the fizz and taste help curb my cravings! Focusing on eating a healthy protein breakfast helped me the most because it was the easiest way to get off on the right foot and maintain my cravings during the day.

Best Weight Loss Protein Products

My favorite morning protein powder for healthy protein shakes is BSN SYNTHA-6 Edge Protein Powder in Vanilla Milkshake. Vanilla seems to be the most versatile. I always throw in a very large handful of spinach when I add it to smoothies because you can’t taste it, and your body loves it! Another good shake blend is Chocolate Milkshake Protein Powder. If you add a small touch of peppermint extract, it tastes just like mint chocolate chip! Protein bars are by no means a five-star dessert, but they fill you up and get the job done. This Birthday Cake Thin bar was my favorite.

What is a High Protein Breakfast?

To start your day off right, curb cravings, and prevent that dreaded midday crash, you’re going to need lots of protein in your breakfast. If you’re looking for breakfast foods high in protein, make sure your kitchen is stocked with foods like greek yogurt, turkey sausage, eggs, and crunchy peanut butter, which all have 8-20 grams of protein per serving. Having plain yogurt every morning can get pretty tiresome, so I’ve put together a list of the best, quick high protein breakfast recipes for weight loss.

These High Protein Breakfast Ideas are here to give you a jump start to the day. Whether looking for more energy or wanting to drop a few pounds, these are some tasty (and super easy) recipes for you to accomplish your goal. Enjoy!

Energy bites are so easy and flavorful —anyone can make them! These perfect No Bake Energy Bites {Cheerful Choices} pack so much flavor in one bite. Plus, they’re full of protein and fiber to keep snacking at bay.

These Turkey Sausage Spinach Cups {Haute and Healthy Living}  are a great way to pack protein into your day. They’re an easy, portable, and healthy protein breakfast or snack option, and you can even make them ahead of time for hectic days! If you prefer a high protein veggie breakfast without the meat, you can totally leave out the sausage.

If you’re looking for high protein breakfasts for weight loss, perfecting your Soft or Hard Boiled Egg{Wanderings in My Kitchen} is a must. You can make a batch ahead of time and keep them in your fridge for a quick bite. I love this recipe because it shows exactly how many minutes for a delicious soft boiled egg or for the perfect hard boiled egg, no matter what your preference is. They’re my absolute favorite with a sprinkling of some Lawry’s Seasoning Salt on top!

Get your caffeine and protein in one by leveling up your smoothie with protein powder and frozen coffee! Turn on the blender and mix up this Coffee Protein Smoothie{Diethood} for a cool breakfast drink. This smoothie is packed with protein —you’ll be surprised at how filling it really is. I’ve made it my go-to choice for breakfast since there’s no prep involved!

Protein bites are my favorite way to get nutrients fast in the morning, and Jessica’s pancake twist is irresistible. Make these Berry Pancake Protein Bites{Butter with a Side of Bread} for an easy and delicious burst of energy in your morning!

You’ll want to wake up early just to dig into these easy overnight oats. This Quick and Easy Peanut Butter Overnight Oatmeal{Baking You Happier} is a delicious high protein oatmeal recipe, plus it saves you from having to boil oats in the morning. Make it with PB2 Peanut Powder for all the peanut buttery goodness without all the calories.

Who has time to bake pancakes during the week? Good news: you can make these 4-Ingredient Protein Pancakes{Skinny Ms} ahead of time and stick them in the freezer. When you need them, zap them in the microwave for 30-60 seconds for a quick and healthy protein breakfast that feels fancy!

Avocado toast is all the rage for a good reason. Hummus Avocado Toast{Eating Bird Food} gets topped with red onion, cilantro, and hemp seeds for a healthy, high protein, low-calorie breakfast. Use store-bought hummus to save major time.

Meatballs for breakfast? Sounds weird, tastes amazing! These Blueberry Sweet Potato Breakfast Meatballs{Fed and Fit} are full of healthy carbs, protein, and greens —I’d call that a win! Plus, they’re super easy to grab on the go.

Make these on Sunday and enjoy them all week long. Peanut Butter Banana Protein Baked Oatmeal Bars{Nutrition Starring You} deliver fiber and protein in a delicious package.

These Latte Overnight Oats with Greek Yogurt{Food Faith Fitness} have only 5 ingredients and combine protein-packed yogurt and oats for the ultimate healthy protein breakfast.

This Pumpkin Oatmeal Bake {Peanut Butter and Fitness} has a whopping 15 grams protein per piece! It’s perfect for chilly mornings and can feed the whole family.

These Greek Yogurt Oat Mango Muffins{Hello Veggie} are an unexpected twist on your typical muffin. They’re the best protein breakfast for when you’re tired of the usual suspects.

Shake up your everyday egg muffin recipe with a Variety of Egg Muffin Cup Recipes{Life Made Sweeter}. The sky’s the limit with these, so your protein egg breakfasts will never get boring.

No, you’re not dreaming. Cookies for breakfast are a thing! These Blueberry Chocolate Chip Breakfast Cookies{The Tolerant Tummy} have protein-packed ingredients like oats, bananas and nut butter, so it’s a healthy protein breakfast in disguise.

I make this Cinnamon Apple Smoothie{The Gracious Pantry} a few days a week. I tweak it by throwing in half a Granny Smith apple, a good amount of spinach, and a scoop of Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder(this is a MUST!)

Another smoothie I love for mornings is this Chocolate Mint Protein Shake{Nutritionist Reviews}. When I’m cutting back on extra sugar, I leave out the banana. If you don’t have fresh mint on hand, Peppermint Extractworks in a pinch!

Move over, boring muffins —these Mixed Berry Oatmeal Muffins{Peanut Butter and Fitness} have 12 grams of protein per muffin, are gluten-free and dairy-free, and are as delicious as they are wholesome!

These 10-minute Smoked Salmon, Spinach and Egg White Wraps{Haute and Healthy Living} take a healthy protein breakfast to a whole new level.

By working more high protein breakfast foods into your diet, you’ll start to see some amazing changes happening. I love having more energy, a clearer mind, and feeling just the right amount of full when I start my days. With 5 kids, it’s totally necessary!

Bedtime Checklist Printable

Bedtime Checklist Printable

Does it feel as though you are always giving the same instruction at night? I have found myself in a place where I was becoming dictatorial over being a sweet and gentle mother I desire to be at night. For that reason, I created this Bedtime Checklist Printable. Instead of me listing all the things the kids need do before bed, they can check it off on their frame.

This is an 8×10 printable list. To create yours, print it and place it in a frame with a glass cover. I find leaving it in their bathroom or on a bedside table is best. Have a dry erase maker where your child can check their responsibilities each evening. Then your question at the end of the night becomes, singular – only one question “did you finish your bedtime checklist?” This eliminates the direction to go brush thier teeth, lay out their clothes, etc. Erase in the morning and start over each evening.

Enjoy!

Lovevery Play Mat Review – Playtime With Purpose. Educational play products and baby toys that designed by child development experts for stage-based learning.

Lovevery Play Mat | Playtime With Purpose

Shopping for a baby is hard. Babies don’t require much beyond food, warm clothing, diapers, and a bed. There have been a few times I have wondered how to shop for my little ones at a holiday that was pretty close to birth. If investing in something for your child’s first year, take a look at the Lovevery Baby Activity Mat. This sweet gift not only invests in your child’s first year, it invests in your child’s development which invests in a lifetime. This mat has years of play in one box!

The Lovevery Baby Play Mat is designed by child development experts for fun and growth at every stage. It is eco-friendly, non-toxic, and is grounded in science for playtime with purpose.  We had a play gym with our last baby, but when finding something for the twins, I wanted to to find something large enough for them both but also a mat that focused on developmental milestones.

The mat was just that, large. You can see it easily fits Henry (twin A) and Elijah our toddler. The packaging was very thoughtful. Not only was it adorable, it was very easy to put together.   I really appreciate the FSC-certified wooden structure. It makes the piece very solid so I can trust (to an extent) my older son around the younger boy. The structure is sturdy meaning he can lean on it and it isn’t going to collapse. It can easily be broken down as well for storage or moving purposes.

The mat is also intuitive. This play Gym is designed by experts for your baby’s developing brain. The fabrics are soft and colorful – very aesthetically pleasing. The mat comes with toys as well as cards. One of our favorite feature are the gym’s activity cards. We used them for our 15 month old to identify parts of the face but we also used the black and white cards for the 8 week old twins as their eye site develops. It was amazing how they both tracked and focused on the cards. (You can see the video of Max above.)

We use our play gym at the very beginning of the day. Their brains are well rested and they are ready for tummy and back time. The mat is incredibly soft and great for room to roll over and move. I have placed all three babies on the spacious mat, though I usually spend time holding one while the other two play.

Each edge of the mat has a purpose for your child.  On the mat, there are five development zones that reveal or conceal to prevent over stimulation and promote brain and motor skill development:

  • Learning to focus
  • Making sounds
  • How things feel
  • Hiding and finding
  • Exploring colors

The play gym comes with…

  • The Play Guide – 24 stage-based play activities and ideas for fun stage-based play from newborn through 12+ months.
  • BPA-free Montessori organic ball & teether
  • Sustainable wood batting toy designed for grasping, mouthing and passing hand to hand.
  • 4 interchangeable learning card sets – black & white, body, objects, mirrors
  • Sustainably-sourced wooden legs for stability

You can also hold on to this toy for longer. The wooden legs can be covered and convert to a play fort or small tent, perfect for our toddler!  The Play Gym becomes a cozy space for your growing baby and their friends to play.

All in all, there were a few features that were very appealing. On this mat, I could focus on fun with my babies without worrying about things I need to do for their development; a book came along with some ideas! Another favorite feature, was the two minute setup and take down, no tools required.  You hear me mothers? no tools, no batteries!
