We are back, so is the Elf on the Shelf! If you have been with us a long time, you know we have brought you a new Elf on the Shelf Ideas daily (in the months of November and December) for the past seven years. Of course, if Elf comes back, he/she needs a really cute Elf on the Shelf arrival idea! First, let’s talk about the Elf doll.

Does Dollar Tree have Elf on the Shelf?

The original Elf on the Shelf doll only comes in a box with a book. This set typically costs in the $30 range and is rarely is Elf on the Shelf on sale. Because of the price range, you will not find the Elf on the Shelf set at the Dollar Store. You can find this brand at many major retailers including Target, Amazon, Walmart.

That being said, for this DIY ornament craft you will need your own Elf on the Shelf doll or you can use the Dollar Tree Elf plush in boy or girl.

DIY Dollar Store Christmas Craft Supplies

For this DIY Christmas wreath, most supplies can be found at the Dollar Tree. For the DIY Dollar Store Christmas decorations you cannot find, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, or your local craft store are all great alternatives so you don’t spend a ton of money.

Supplies:

The Elf on the Shelf Doll(s)
Dollar Tree Pool Noddle (also consider wire wreath frame, grapevine wreath or styrofoam wreaths circles)
Dollar Store Ornaments (large, medium and small ornaments bring a nice mixture)
Wooden Letters (these are from Hobby Lobby, but similar one inch letters are here)
Hot Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Mini Christmas Pom-Poms (search the Dollar Store or similar ones here)

Frugal tip: Save money on new ornaments and use your old ornaments you no longer use on the Christmas tree or shop a flea market for vintage ornaments.

Craft tip: Want to raid your craft supplies? Other Christmas craft supplies you can bring into your Dollar Tree ornament wreath craft are small or large jingle bells, faux greenery, pine cones, or burlap ribbon for a pretty bow.

How to make a Dollar Tree Ornament Wreath

To begin, Katelyn says gather all of your materials.

Using your hands or pliers, remove the tops off of the ornaments. This step is a bit of a hassle but makes the ornaments much easier to glue on later. Put the Christmas balls aside.

Take your wreath frame (pool noddle) and cut bottom of the wreath circle with scissors or a knife. This will give your Christmas wreath an arch shape. This step is completely optional.

Start with the larger ornaments and begin gluing on the ornaments in a cluster kind of way. It does not have to be perfect.

After the larger ornament goes on, add medium ornaments and small ornaments keeping in that cluster type of formation. Continue to wrap around the front and edge of the wreath. You will have hot glue strings along the way.

When your whole wreath is glued with ornaments, fill in some of the gaps with mini Christmas pom-poms. Put your wreath to the side.

Lay out your message with your small wooden letters. This can say “I am back” “I missed you” or even a common Christmas quote message like “Merry Christmas!”

I personally like to count how many characters I use in the the message and start with the center character. For example for the message “I am back” there are 9 characters (7 letters and 2 spaces.) The middle character is a space. So I will put the m and b of centered from the center of the wreath and work my way to the right and left gluing one letter at a time. Have grace and forgiveness when laying down these letters. It can be hard depending on how 3-demensional your wreath is.

Voila! Your entire wreath is complete!

Have fun with this Christmas wreath. You could even use your ornament arch and have Elf drive through the center in a car or even an airplane. Perhaps set up an entire parade welcoming the fantastic arrival of your family elf.

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. Halloween Shocktails Bottle Labels for 2-Liter Soda

We are ready for cooler temperatures, falling leaves, pumpkins and all things spooky. It’s hard to believe how fast the year is going and that Halloween is just around the corner. We wanted to share with you this adorable printable when planning your classroom party, home party, or whatever festive event you have going on for Fall. When planning your menu, be sure to save this tasty Halloween Jalapeño Popper Mummies recipe. We promise you will love them!

The labels below come in one size paper, legal size which is 8.5 x 14 inch paper.

You can save these and print from your own computer or we give you step by step directions to save and print at Staples Copy Center. I personally find it more affordable to print at the copy center because I don’t have this paper and I save on printer ink.

When planning your festivities, consider adding a felt board. Felt boards can say so much and add the perfect touch of Halloween Party Décor.

DIY Halloween Labels for Drinks

If hosting a Halloween party this October, you need these printable Halloween Drink Labels. They are a perfect complement to any spooky bash, transforming ordinary 2-liter soda bottles to a spook-tacular potion!

For these Halloween beverage labels, we used Dr. Pepper, Orange Soda, Cherry 7-Up, and Mountain Dew but you may adapt to your own drinks for Halloween.

Supplies

Four Soda Bottles – We picked up Dr. Pepper, Orange Soda, Cherry 7-Up, and Mountain Dew
Printer Ink
8.5 x 14 Legal printer paper (Amazon has a great price)
Halloween Drink Labels

My goal for picking our soda bottles was looking for strong colors, flavors the kids would drink and bottle caps that fit the Halloween theme.

Instructions

Once you print your Halloween Labels, it’s very easy to wrap the bottle.

First, you can use scissors to trim off any printer paper that doesn’t have color.

Next take off the existing 2-liter bottle label. If you are not using cardstock, the label will show through the printable paper.

Take your bottle label and wrap it around the bottle. Use hot glue or tape to secure in place.

Then your done. Such easy Halloween party décor and such a fun addition to your tablescape with Halloween party food!

Can I use sticker paper on my Halloween Bottle Labels?

Yes, you can substitute your 8.5 x 14 printer paper for sticker paper (on Amazon) or even for cardstock. Just stick with the legal paper size.

DIY Halloween Potion Bottles

In addition to printable Halloween labels for drinks, you can make your own Halloween Decorations. DIY projects make very affordable Halloween décor. To make this Halloween Potion Jar Label you need upcycled bottles, spray paint, twine and permanent markers. You likely have many of these craft supply items in your home and anything you don’t have you can find at the dollar store.

Distress the bottle with spray paint and accents. For another brilliant idea, consider using hot glue to give the bottle texture and 3-d effects. You can paint over the dried glue. Also pull some outside elements like dried moss.

Other supplies to include are glass jars. glitter, cork and more. To finish, label your potion bottles with unique names like witch’s brew, snake venom, snail salvia, dragonfly wings and more.

What are some Thanksgiving Activities?

Thanksgiving always brings out the fall family traditions. Thanksgiving day activities can include and outdoor nature walk, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, playing football, sharing in the gratitude game and baking Thanksgiving dinner. If you are looking to change up the traditional activities, introduce something out of the norm like 60 second challenges, aka Thanksgiving Minute to Win it Games.

How to you Play Minute to Win it Games?

There are a number of ways to play minute to win it games but one thing that remains the same is the time. Each game is only 60 seconds long keeping things moving along and constant activity and motion. To play minute to win it games, first establish teams so you can quickly tally up points and find the true winner of the Minute to Win it Turkey Bowl.

Individual Players: When players play individual they are constantly adding points to their own score. Points are awarded for being the quickest to finish a task or completing the game within 60 seconds. At the end, calculate each players total points.
Two – Three Person Groups: You can also calculate points by establishing two to three player groups at the beginning of the game. Teammates work together to complete tasks and add points to their groups total to be declared the winners.
Teams: For a gathering, you can split all players up into larger teams. Not each player will participate in each activity but rather a member from their team will work to accomplish a 60 second challenge.

Using a straw (or turkey baster), blow your acorn to the end of the table and get it to fall in the basket or bucket. Continue this activity until your minute is up!

Harvest the Fields

Supplies Needed: Chopsticks, Beans

Using chopsticks, how fast can you move beans from one container to the next?

Pass the Salt

Supplies Needed: Yardsticks, Salt, Pepper

This might be consider a complicated game. Balance the salt and paper jars on a yardstick and carry them from one set of chairs to the next. Concentration and balance are key!

Keep it Up

Supplies Needed: Feathers

Can you keep up light weight turkey feathers? You have 60 seconds to keep them off the ground and flying in the air. Optional: substitute for with balloons.

Pie Face
