Jalapeño Popper Mummies – These savory stuffed jalapeño popper mummies are the perfect Halloween party appetizer for your spooky get-together! Make these adorable jalapeño poppers for the best hauntingly delicious treats to please every guest at your October party, or simply make them for your family to get in the Halloween spirits. Enjoy!

Halloween Jalapeño Popper Mummies

Halloween Jalapeño Popper Mummies

We get so excited over the start of school and Halloween on the horizon! I get just as excited as the kids do over Halloween. From the costumes, to candy, to festive decorations, October signifies tons of fun to come! Our Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs were a huge hit on the blog, and these Halloween Jalapeño Mummies are sure to be a crowd pleaser as well.

HALLOWEEN JALAPEÑO POPPER RECIPE

For this Halloween Recipe, you will need edible eyes among other ingredients. We used two eyes of the same shape, but we also think it would be cute to add additional candy eyes of various sizes! Isn’t a mummy supposed to look a little wonky?

The best part of this recipe for Halloween is that the kids can get involved, but when you’ve all chowed down to your heart’s content, they haven’t eaten a sugary snack that will hype them up. Instead, everyone gets a savory bite for Halloween night! (You are supposed to say that aloud while you’re reading. We rhymed just like Dr Seuss!)

Need more tasty recipes for your Halloween party? Try this Poison Apple Dip and adorable food craft for your Halloween Tablescape. For a healthy bite on the holiday, make these Fruit Cup Jack-o-Lanterns. If you don’t want to carve the face, just use a sharpie marker!

Of course, you’ll need a sweet and spooky treat to go along with the savory menu items. You can find the perfect dessert in our 31+ Days of Kid’s Halloween Food Crafts! Which is your favorite?

Halloween Jalapeño Popper Directions and Ingredients

Don’t get spooked. The ingredients that go into these Stuffed Jalapeño Popper Mummies can easily be found at your local grocery store!

STUFFED JALAPEÑO POPPER MUMMIES INGREDIENTS

Between the Jalapeño Peppers and the Pepper Jack Cheese, this recipe can have a kick! To cool things down for the kids and those sensitive to spice, be sure to remove the seeds and membranes from your jalapeños before cooking!

You’ll need these ingredients to make these Jalapeño Popper Mummies…

  • 10 Jalapeño Peppers
  • 8 oz Softened Cream Cheese
  • 8 oz Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon minched garlic
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Pepper
  • 1 Scallion
  • Candy Eyeballs
  • Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Jalepeno Poppers

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over. A binder keeps me organized and gives me a place to store my recipes.

Mother’s Day Crafts for Kids

Not only did they love the activity, but I loved getting to see the fun they had while they made a special gift to celebrate their moms! It’s so fun to be a part of a memory frozen in time. And as a mom myself, I can only imagine the joy that receiving those crafts brought to the moms of my students at home!

If you want the best mothers’ day gift I ever received (and with 5 kids, a lot of years, years of teaching and even more years of creating Pinterest I feel qualified to tell…), my kids made me this beaded wire rock picture frame. It was the cutest Preschool Mother’s Day Craft ever!

Supplies include: Acrylic Paint, a Thick Wire (1MM – 2.5MM  is a great size) and Large Hole Plastic Beads. No photographed, i personally added a mini clothespin to help keep the photo in place.

Muffins with Mom Muffin Recipes

Muffins with Mom Muffin Recipes for Mother’s Day

One of my favorite memories with the girls is when they were in preschool. The teachers would hold a Muffins with Mom and Doughnuts with Dad breakfast around Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. They were such special moments for the kids and I and provided more than enough adorable memories. Plus, it goes without saying that the muffins were beyond delicious!

I took inspiration from those preschool Mother’s Day muffin breakfasts and put together my own list of the tastiest Muffins with Mom recipes that I hand-picked from across the internet. If you’re searching for the best Mother’s Day breakfast idea, I guarantee this will wow Mom on her special day! Accompany your muffins with fresh fruit, coffee, a mimosa, and/or any other breakfast treats that Mom loves. These make a great addition to your Mother’s Day brunch spread, too! Or if you’re planning to deliver breakfast to Mom in bed, muffins are the perfect option since they’re low on mess. We’ve included fruity muffins, savory muffins, healthy muffins, and more, so you can perfectly cater your Mother’s Day breakfast menu to Mom’s favorite flavors.

She’ll be over the moon seeing the special touches you and your family put into her breakfast celebration. Have fun with Mom, and enjoy!

What supplies will you need for these muffin recipes?

All of these recipes have their own tasty flavors that set them apart from the rest. However, if you’re looking for muffin basics to have on hand, you’ll generally want to have these ingredients. You’ll likely already have most of these ingredients, so once you select the muffin recipe that you think Mom will love, simply shop for the items you don’t have in the kitchen. The remaining ingredients depend on the individual recipes you’ll find below!

Most of these Muffins with Mom recipes call for…

  • Eggs
  • Milk (any milk you have on hand will do, including non-dairy milk like almond, oat, etc.)
  • A neutral oil or butter
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Muffin tins
  • Muffin liners (these are optional, but colorful muffin tin liners really jazz up the presentation of your special Mother’s Day breakfast! If you don’t have any on hand, you can grease your muffin tins with butter or a non-stick cooking spray.)

Even with it’s humble supplies, this Mother’s Day card for kids looks so impressive. Mom is sure to appreciate all the crafting work that goes into this special Mother’s Day craft!

Be sure to pick up our favorite tea bags! We think your mom will love them too – they make an amazing gift and perfect accompaniment to this Mother’s Day card craft!

Want to really take the tea theme to the next level on Mother’s Day? Have a Beau-TEA-ful Mother’s Day incorporating some of these Tea Party Ideas! Throw Mom a tea party with beautiful decorations, table settings, and tasty treats to make her day truly special.

Supplies:

  • 1 Cardboard Egg Carton
  • Watercolor Paints
  • 1 Sheet White Cardstock Paper
  • 2 Sheets Patterned or Colored Paper (scrapbook paper)
  • 1 White Pipe Cleaner
  • 2 Pipe Cleaners, any color
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • 2 Tea Bags
  •  Scissors

Directions:

1. First, cut 2 pieces of cardstock about 4”x 6” in size and cut 2 pieces of patterned/colored paper about 3”x 5” in size. We used white card stock and colored scrapbook paper.

2. When you have your paper cut, center each piece of patterned paper on top of each white piece, and glue down on them. These are your two cards.

3. Grab your egg carton. Use the bottom part of the egg carton and cut 2 of the egg holders from the end of the egg carton. Cut off one side of each egg holder, making sure to leave the other 3 sides intact. When you lay it down on the flat cut off side, it will look like a little round cup.

4. Once your teacups are cut, use the watercolors to paint each little egg holder cup any color you choose, we used blue and purple. Let these dry for a few minutes.

5. While your tea cups are drying, cut 2 pieces of the white pipe cleaners each about 3” long. Cut 1 piece each of the colored pipe cleaners about 3” long. Twist a white piece with each colored piece so you now have 2 pieces that looked striped.

Gluing Tea Cups Mother's Day Card Craft

6. Make each one into a small handle shape and glue each one to the egg holder cups. I glued one end on the inside top, and the other end to the outside so they look like cup handles.

7. Glue each teacup with the flat cutout side down onto the cards. Put one of the tea bags into each little cup and let the string dangle over it.

Gluing Tea Cup Mother's Day Card Craft

These make cute cards for Mother’s Day or anytime! They would be SO fun for a tea party, too!

What is a staycation?

Not all of us have the budget or willingness to take the family on a vacation every spring. Staycations bring all the fun of a great vacation into your very own home or hometown. They typically involve extra special activities that you might do when you’re on a real vacation, like camping in your own backyard or setting up a kiddie pool in the backyard.

Whatever your reason for enjoying these staycation ideas, let us know how much you love them in the comments!

Where haven’t you explored before? To really make your staycation fancy, book a hotel room for the night! Search places like Groupon for discounts and savings.

Deepen relationships and learn a new fun fact about your loved ones! Have an Instagram-worthy picnic in your favorite grassy park. Picnics are a great opportunity to escape those everyday distractions like the doorbell, phone ringing, dog barking, and all the other things that interrupt quality time. Bring dinner conversation cards to start discussion and help you get to know your child and/or spouse better.

52 Weeks of Meatless Monday Dinners

52 Weeks of Meatless Monday Dinners

When we shared our 52 Weeks of Taco Tuesday Recipes, we were overwhelmed with the positive response from all of you! Since you guys loved our themed recipes for Tuesday, we decided to dedicate another night of the week to another tasty concept — Meatless Mondays!

The best way to start the week is with a healthy dinner that pleases the whole family. That’s why I’m all for Meatless Monday recipes when the beginning of a new week rolls around! Whether you are trying to go full vegetarian or just want to cut out meat for one day, these meatless dinner ideas are just the thing for you and yours.

Consider your Monday evening meal planning for the rest of the year done! We’ve found tons of meatless dinner ideas, including Mexican recipes, Asian recipes, Italian recipes, and more to satisfy everyone’s taste buds in your home. You’ll love these healthy vegetarian dinner ideas, and might even save a few to cook on other nights of the week! Bon Appetit!

What are Meatless Mondays?

Meatless Mondays were created as a way to encourage people to reduce the amount of meat in their diet. Just by eating meatless one day of the week, you can reduce your carbon footprint by a significant amount! But even if you’re not transitioning to a meatless lifestyle, Meatless Mondays are a great way to dedicate one day to eating healthy. These Meatless Monday recipes are just as delicious as they are nutritious, and your family will love them. They might not even miss the meat!

While I was putting together this list of meatless dinner ideas, I struggled deciding whether to add fish (shrimp, scallops, etc.) I decided to go against these since technically fish is a meat. Of course, you can modify the recipes however you’d like — even if it’s not Monday. However you choose to enjoy these recipes, you’ll want to try them all!

Before you get started, take a look at our printable meal planner. Don’t get stuck in the same rut — get inspired by placing this recipe list on your fridge!

Bathroom in need of a refresh? Find some inspiration for your makeover project with these Bathroom Remodel on a Budget Ideas! DIY bathroom ideas and remodeling tips to make your bathroom look brand new.

Remodeled Bathroom Ideas

In the era of social media, there’s endless sources of inspiration for improving our homes. Especially in the last year, many of us kept busy with all sorts of DIY projects to make staying at home exciting. You might not think of your bathroom first when you think of refreshing your living space, but let’s face it — your bathroom is every bit of the sanctuary that the bedroom is. Bathrooms are the zone for self-care, where we go to prep for the day ahead, and where we cleanse ourselves after a long, hard day. With this in mind, give your bathroom some love for your next home renovation project with these DIY bathroom remodel ideas!

How can I remodel my bathroom myself?

While I was scouring the internet for the best bathroom remodel on a budget ideas, my goal was to keep them both easy and fun to do! All my fellow HGTV fans are familiar with seeing sky-high remodeling budgets with impressive results.

The high prices come from gutting bathrooms, replacing tile and countertops, and replacing water fixtures, to name a few. When you’re doing a remodel yourself, it’s best to stick with surface-level projects — think paint jobs, stick-on tiles, and reframing mirrors. This way, you’ll get to enjoy a new look without costly jobs that require a professional’s help.

I’ve curated the best budget bathroom ideas that deliver the same incredible looks without forking over thousands for a professional to do the job. Have fun with these bathroom remodeling ideas, and good luck!

The Ultimate List of Whole30 Recipes for Beginners

The Ultimate List of Whole30 Recipes for Beginners on Frugal Coupon Living. Clean and detox in 30 days eating meat, seafood, vegetables, nuts and more! These delicious and easy Whole30 recipes will make eating clean a breeze for you and your family.

The Ultimate List of Whole30 Recipes for Beginners

This is NOT a diet! Whole30 is a 30-day lifestyle change, or body reset, with no deprivation or starvation. Whole30 incorporates meat, seafood, eggs, tons of vegetables, fruit, and plenty of good fats from fruits, oils, nuts and seeds. The focus is natural and unprocessed – think the outer aisles of the grocery store. You are not limited on calorie intake as long as you are staying in the guidelines of the Whole30 program.  The program focuses on eliminating dairy, added sugar (sugar from fruits is fine), grains, MSG, carrageenan, and sulfites — all the stuff that’s not adding to your overall health.

Whole30 is all about cleaning and detoxing your body. This helps prevent cravings and resets your body to in’s natural health. I suggest eating organically when buying to rid your body of unwanted chemicals and pesticides and to clean the gut. Try Whole30 for 30 days. After, you can consider adding items back into your diet and see how they affect you. Reintroduce dairy, caffeine, sugar, and gluten one by one — you’ll be tuned into how they affect your body. My suggestion is to try to hold on to this diet longer than 30 days. You will be impressed by the stamina you have and how well you feel while on it.

What makes Whole30 different?

Unlike many diets that have come and gone over the years, Whole30 is different because weight loss isn’t the goal — healthy eating is. Restrictive diets only lead to yo-yoing weight and starving your body of what it needs. With Whole30, you’re not even allowed to step on the scale and counting calories is a huge no-no! For active, busy moms like myself, Whole30 is a fantastic way to get and stay healthy.

What are the best Whole30 recipes for beginners?

This ultimate list is the best place to start if you’re looking for easy Whole30 recipes to last you 30 days. I promise you’ll find some amazing, delicious eats. They’re so good, you won’t even realize you’re doing a detox!

Foolproof Salmon Baked with Olive Oil & Herbs | The Kitchn. I think I could eat this entire plate!

Paleo Creamy Potato Leek Soup | Jay’s Baking Me Crazy. This soup looks so warm and inviting. Perfect for those chilly days when you need a cozy meal.

Butternut Squash Noodle Hash | Hold the Grain. This skillet dish looks so beautiful, and I love that it’s served in the same dish you cook it in.

Magic Lemon Broccoli (leave off cheese) | Recipe Tin Eats. When broccoli is seasoned perfectly, I can’t stop eating it! Even the kids would love this one.

Easy Turkey Meatballs | Fashionable Foods. This would be great alone or with some spaghetti squash!

Roasted Carrot Hash Recipe with Ground Beef and Bacon | Paleo Running Momma. We tried something similar while sampling Whole30 recipes and it was a hit. Everyone cleaned up their plate.

Cauliflower Fried Rice | Little Bits of…. My kids had no idea this was cauliflower. They truly loved it. Consider adding some Liquid Aminos as a substitute for soy sauce.

Curried Cauliflower Rice Kale Soup | Cotter Crunch. Curry anything and I am in. This dish looks delish. Add as much kale as you want — the greener, the better!

Buffalo Chicken Dip | Life in the Green House. Yes, you can have comfort food like good ole’ buffalo chicken dip on a Whole30 Diet! With a few simple swaps, this crowd-pleasing dish becomes Whole30 approved.

Roasted Tomatoes and Shrimp with Zucchini Noodles | Recipe Runner. You can find a squash noodle maker on Amazon. Zucchini noodles are surprisingly satisfying and a fantastic low-carb swap for regular spaghetti.

Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Red Pepper and Corn | The Kitchn. On Whole30, you will learn to love Brussels sprouts, I promise! If you’re used to roasted Brussels sprouts, try this sautéed version with the colorful additions of red pepper and corn.

One Pot Lemon Chicken and Asparagus | Sweet Cs Designs. This easy one-pot meal is a winner. Chicken with a zesty lemon flavor is always a hit in my house!

Avocado + Dijon Turkey Burgers | My Healthyish Life. Creamy avocado and dijon make these burgers as tasty as they are healthy.

Chicken and Broccoli | Jay’s Baking Me Crazy. Again, you can find a squash noodle maker on Amazon. It’ll become your best friend for all the times you’re craving noodles on Whole30!

Chicken Lettuce Wraps | One Lovely Life. Lettuce wraps are a favorite in my family. We’d make these even if we weren’t looking for Whole30 recipes! Romaine or butter lettuce are the best choices for wraps.

Baked Garlic Green Beans | My Kitchen Craze. Okay, YUM! These green beans look amazing.

Orange Chicken | Food Faith Fitness. Yes, you can totally enjoy orange chicken on Whole30. Pair with cauliflower rice and some Liquid Aminos.

Homemade Chicken Sausage with Spinach and Onions | Paleo Running Momma. This looks like such a hearty breakfast. It would be great for breakfast for dinner, too!

Mexican Cauliflower Rice | The Pinning Mama. You are going to love this one. To make your own cauliflower rice, you’ll need a good food processor to do the hard work for you.

Breakfast Casserole (for those struggling on Whole30) | Crazy Together. Another casserole I bet you will make for more than breakfast!
