Learn what is a time capsule and what to put inside. Plus, download and print this adorable Kindergarten to High School Time Capsule Printable: A printable time capsule to keep throughout your child’s school years filled with the best of memories.

Time stands still for no one and that is especially true when your kids are growing up. Turn back time and celebrate how things have changed with a time capsule! This time capsule printable is so much fun and it’s a great way to keep those precious memories alive.

What is a Time Capsule?

A time capsule is a container that is filled with items that represent a specific time period. Time capsule ideas are items including anything from photos and clothes to toys and trinkets.

The purpose of a time capsule is to put these items in the keepsake and bury it somewhere so that it can be opened at a later date to remind people of what life was like during that time. Burying it, might just be putting it in the deep crevices of a utility room or other hidden room in the house. A perfect time to open this is a milestone event like a birthday, graduation or wedding.

What to Put in Your Time Capsule?

what to put inside a time capsule photos

There are no set rules for what you should put in your time capsule, but here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Photographs of you, your friends, and your family
  • Newspaper clippings from the time period
  • A list of songs that were popular during that time
  • Movie tickets or posters
  • Clothing items from the time period
  • Sports memorabilia

In our time capsule worksheets, we include the following…

  • Teacher
  • School
  • Photo
  • Favorite Subject
  • Favorite TV show
  • Favorite Movie
  • Favorite Book
  • Favorite Song
  • Favorite Food
  • Favorite Activity
  • Favorite Saying/Quote

The sheets also provide an opportunity to answer the following time capsule questions…

  • When I grow up I want to be…
  • My best friends are…
  • I’m really awesome at…
  • After school I like to…
  • Next year I look forward to…
  • This year I got better at…
  • Something new I learned

How to Make a Time Capsule?

There are lots of different ways to make a time capsule, but here is one easy way to do it:

  1. Choose a time capsule container. This could be anything from a cardboard photo box to a plastic Sterilite container with a lid.
  2.  Decorate the container however you like. You can paint it, draw on it, or use stickers to decorate it.
  3. Collect items that represent the time period. As mentioned earlier, these could be photos, newspaper clippings, clothing items, etc. Anything that is important during the time you’re representing works.
  4. Put the items in the container and seal it shut. The sealing process depends on how you’re going to store the container until you open it. If the plan is to bury the time capsule, you’ll want to make sure it is sealed tightly so that water cannot get in. If you’re going to store it inside, a simple piece of tape over the lid will suffice.
  5. Choose a date for when you want to open the time capsule. This could be 5 years from now, 10 years from now, or even 50 years from now.
  6. Label the container with the date and a description of what is inside.
  7. Bury or store the capsule somewhere safe.

How to Open a Time Capsule?

There are two ways to handle a time capsule. The first way is to simply bury it and forget about it until the date that you have chosen to open it. The second way is to store it in a safe place and then open it on the date that you have chosen.
If you want to bury your time capsule, it is a good idea to mark the spot so that you can find it later. If you choose to store your time capsule, make sure to put it in a place where it will not be damaged by water or bugs.

For this Elf on the Shelf activity, the kids participate in a Skittles Rainbow Experiment. New creative, funny, and original Elf on the Shelf Ideas daily.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas

We are back, so is the Elf on the Shelf! You can view our Elf on the Shelf Master List for a full list of ideas including every idea we have ever done.

Is there a Rainbow Elf?

If you are on the hunt for a rainbow Elf on the Shelf doll only, I have terrible news… there isn’t a rainbow Elf. As a reminder, Elf dolls only come in red and white. There are knock off versions in different colors, but the classic doll has a red hat and white collar.

However, if tasting the rainbow is fun for you, take a look at this cool Skittles Elf on the Shelf rainbow experiment.

Skittles Rainbow Experiment

Have you seen our five minute science experiments for kids? There are many ideas you can incorporate into your December Elf on the Shelf ideas. We did not pull this activity from that list, but we have a Skittles Rainbow Experiment your kids will love to do with their red elves.

Skittles Rainbow Experiment

Ashley…. so…

How do you do the Skittles trick?

Don’t worry. I have the answers. First gather these supplies you likely have at home.

Skittles Rainbow Supplies

  • The Elf on the Shelf doll
  • Skittles package
  • 1/4 Cup Warm Water
  • White plate (white shows the background)

Skittles Rainbow Experiment Directions

Elf can leave these written directions, though we will provide you with more detailed directions below.

“Let’s make a rainbow. Just add warm water.”

First, arrange your Skittles in a circular pattern around the edge of the plate. One skittle, side by side, until your skittles form a circle radius of the plate. (You can do this for your kids/Elf or you can just layout a box of Skittles for your kid to do when they wake.)

When your skittles are in place, pour over enough warm water to cover all the Skittles and the plate itself.

Watch and wait as a Skittles rainbow appears. You will watch the colors bleed toward the center/middle of the plate.

Now that you know how to do the Elf on the Shelf skittles experiment, let’s explain!

Skittles Rainbow Explanation

Skittle candy is full of dye. The combination of dye and sugar dissolves quickly in warm water. When placed in a shallow plate of warm water, the dye quickly dissolves in the water making a colorful rainbow. The reason the colors do not mix naturally (unless stirred, shaken, or sit awhile) is because each food color has the same amount of sugar dissolved from each Skittle. As the sugar dissolved, it pushed outwards into the color beside it building almost a wall against the neighboring solution

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Spring Activities Bucket List Printable

Spring is a time of new beginnings and exciting changes. One way to celebrate the season is by making a bucket list for spring. To help get your family moving and to help them break out of their (egg)shell, I’ve put together an exciting Spring Activities Bucket List printable to share with you.

What is a Bucket List?

A bucket list can be anything from things you want to do, places you want to go or people you want to see this time of year. For many people, a bucket list is a list of activities they would like to accomplish as a family. For others, a bucket list can include things to do before you die.

A bucket list can be short, like for a period of time like a season . Your list can be seasonal like a Christmas bucket list, or be made up of all the things that are unique to the months of March, April, and May. It can also be long like fun things you would like to accomplish in a lifetime.

The list can focus on indoor activities, things to do on vacation, or even over a school break Share these activities with others or make them solo.  There’s really no limit to what you can put on your personalized bucket list or family bucket list.

A new season. A new tradition.

Spring Bucket List Ideas

Spring is the perfect time to start a new family tradition and make a plan to spend time together. We always have the best of intentions to do things as a family, but it seems like something always comes up. This year, make a plan and stick to it with this handy dandy spring bucket list!

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

That sneaky little guy…. the leprechaun left behind fun treasure hunt for St. Patty’s Day. Download and print a St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt printable with 20 rhyming riddles for your child today!

St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt

St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and it’s time to celebrate all things rainbow and lucky with a colorful St. Patrick’s Scavenger Hunt. Planning a fun for this Irish holiday can be a bit tricky, but with this St. Patrick’s Day leprechaun activity your kids will be over the rainbow looking for clues.

St. Patrick’s Day Traditions

St. Patrick’s Day is the day when we celebrate all things Irish, including a little bit of luck and magic. It’s a great time to spend with family or friends, eat delicious food, wear green clothes, and enjoy different Irish traditions!

There are plenty of ways to get in on the fun too – you can make your own lucky charms for good luck throughout the year, make your own DIY leprechaun trap or learn about traditional Irish music instruments and dancing.

And if you’re looking for something else besides drinking green beer (or any other green drinks), there are tons more Saint Patrick’s Day traditions and celebrations to fit every type of personality and family. No matter what kind of fun you’re looking for, there’s a good chance that you can find it on March 17th!

But if you’re looking for a way to add a bit of extra fun and excitement to your day, why not try this fun idea – a scavenger hunt? This St. Patty’s Day Scavenger Hunt is perfect for all ages and will have everyone racing around looking for clues to the leprechaun’s hiding spot.

St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt

That sneaky little leprechaun escaped the the Leprechaun Trap. However he left behind a fun St. Patricks’ Day activity. This printable is perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day party or family activity. Just download, print, and cut out the clues. Hide them around the house for a fun challenge and discover (perhaps) a Leprechaun’s pot of gold.

What You’ll Need:

  • Printer
  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Clues (download below)
  • A St. Patrick’s Day treat for participants (like Gold Chocolate Coins)

Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt Clues

In order to make this St. Patty’s Day Scavenger Hunt really fun, we added some rhyming clues that your child can solve as they race around the house in this at home treasure hunt. If you have toddlers or younger kids, pair them with older children to help solve the St. Patrick’s’ Day Scavenger Hunt riddles and clue cards.

A few examples of rhyming clues include…

Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt Clues

I think I hear something jiggling like gold. Run to the place where you keep the food cold. (Refrigerator.)

St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt Clues

You’re doing a great job on this treasure hunt, continue the fun when you look out front. (Lawn or front porch.)

St. Patrick's Day Treasure Hunt Clues

Irish kisses and shamrock pinches, search in the place where you keep your riches. (Piggy bank or wallet.)

… now to grab your fun St. Patrick’s Day printable.

Treasure Hunt Printable

To get started, download and print the clues on white cardstock. There are twenty different clues for you to choose from, making it easy to set up a custom scavenger hunt that works for your home.

Download your St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt PDF here.

There’s also a clues & answers page just in case you get stumped on one of the clues. It also makes setting up the St. Patty’s day activity quick and easy to set up.

Instructions

Once printed, cut out the clues and hide them around the house so they match the list given. The idea behind the scavenger hunt is that a leprechaun has hidden treasure that your kids need to find.

You’ll want to put together a themed prize for the final clue location. This could be anything from a pot of gold coins to a special treat like some yummy candy or an Irish-themed toy.

Once everything is ready, gather the kids and explain the rules. Save the first card. Then, it’s time to get busy hunting!

The best part about this scavenger hunt is that it can be tailored to any age group, even adults! Just make sure to adjust the treats and small prizes at the end of the rainbow accordingly. Mini bottles of alcohol, chocolates, a rainbow charcuterie board and green beer would be a great adult prize for a St. Patrick’s Day treasure hunt!

Now that you’re all ready to go, download the clues and get started on this festive and fun family activity. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

DIY Resurrection Eggs Printable

For a fun Easter activity for the kids, download this Resurrection Eggs printable with Bible verses about Christ’s resurrection. These Easter scripture cards tell the Easter story. Pair with one dozen plastic Easter eggs for a cute Christian Easter craft.

As our family traditions begin to take shape, I have tried to be very intention about not getting lost in the commercial of the season. Easter has turned into bunnies, chicks and baskets of Candy. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the “reason for the season” hence the purpose for this printable resurrection eggs story.

Resurrection Eggs Story Cards Printable

What are resurrection eggs?

Resurrection eggs connect Easter eggs with the true meaning of the season. One dozen plastic eggs can quickly tell the Easter story through scripture verses found in the Gospels. Each egg is opened revealing a new Bible verse card and image.

There are a few ideas for how to use resurrection eggs. These can be uses for Christian teaching, telling the Easter story to your family, or even for an Easter egg hunt at home.

How to make DIY resurrection eggs at home

While there are places where you can find resurrection eggs, make your own homemade resurrection eggs instead using supplies you have around the house.

What goes in resurrection eggs?

What goes in resurrection eggs?

In our resurrection eggs booklet PDF we give you all you need for your kit. This includes resurrection eggs printable bible verses and photos. The only resurrection eggs materials you need to provide are 12 plastic Easter eggs and an egg carton.

Supplies

  • 12 Plastic Eggs
  • An Egg Carton
  • Permanent Marker – to number to eggs

Optional Supplies

However, there are a few supplies you can add to your resurrection eggs kit to “jazz it up!”

What to put inside resurrection eggs

  • Leaf – outdoor or bay leaf to represent a palm branch at Jesus’ triumphal entry
  • Coins – 3 silver coins to represent Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver
  • Cracker – to represent the bread at the Last Supper
  • Scroll – a tiny piece of paper rolled into a scroll to represent Jesus’ prayer in the garden
  • Whip – a piece of leather or thick fabric to represent the soldier’s whipping Jesus
  • Crown – a tiny crown made from grass or a flower stem to represent the crown of thorns
  • Nails – 2 nails glues in a cross to represent the nails and the cross
  • Dice – a die to represent the soldier’s casting lots for Jesus’ clothes
  • Toothpick – a toothpick with one end broken off to represent the spear piercing Jesus’ side
  • Cloth – a scrap of cheesecloth or fabric (to represent Joseph wrapping Jesus in linen cloth)
  • Stone – a rock to represent the stone rolled in front of the tomb

These optional materials can be placed inside your plastic eggs with the accompanying scripture card. The 12th egg will remain empty for the empty tomb.

Resurrection Eggs Bible Verses

Since you are doing the Easter story with kids, we placed the resurrection eggs scriptures in ERV version. This is the Easy-to-Read bible version.

Resurrection Eggs Bible Verses

Matthew 21:9 – Some of the people were walking ahead of Jesus. Others were walking behind him. They all shouted, “Praise to the Son of David! ‘Welcome! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Praise to God in heaven!”

Use a leaf with this bible verse to represent the palms waved when Jesus was on the donkey and the crowd shouted “Hosanna!”

Matthew 26:14-15 – Then one of the twelve followers went to talk to the leading priests. This was the follower named Judas Iscariot. He said, “I will hand Jesus over to you. What will you pay me for doing this?” The priests gave him 30 silver coins.

Add silver coins to this egg.

Matthew 26:26-28 – While they were eating, Jesus took some bread and thanked God for it. He broke off some pieces, gave them to his followers and said, “Take this bread and eat it. It is my body.” Then he took a cup of wine, thanked God for it, and gave it to them. He said, “Each one of you drink some of it. 28 This wine is my blood, which will be poured out to forgive the sins of many and begin the new agreement from God to his people.

Use a cracker to represent the body of Jesus and bread broken at the last supper.

Matthew 26:39 – Then Jesus went on a little farther away from them. He fell to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, don’t make me drink from this cup. But do what you want, not what I want.”

Roll paper into a scroll to represent the prayer in the garden of Gethsemane.

Mark 15:15 – Pilate wanted to please the people, so he set Barabbas free for them. And he told the soldiers to beat Jesus with whips. Then he handed him over to the soldiers to be killed on a cross.

Add cut leather to represent a whip.

Matthew 27:29 – Then they made a crown from thorny branches and put it on his head, and they put a stick in his right hand. Then they bowed before him, making fun of him. They said, “We salute you, king of the Jews!”

Twist a flower steam or vine into a small crown.

Matthew 27:31 – After they finished making fun of him, the soldiers took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be killed on a cross.

Make your own cross using hot glue. Place two nails into a cross shape and place in the egg.

John 19:23-24 – After the soldiers nailed Jesus to the cross, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts. Each soldier got one part. They also took his tunic. It was all one piece of cloth woven from top to bottom. So the soldiers said to each other, “We should not tear this into parts. Let’s throw lots to see who will get it.” This happened to make clear the full meaning of what the Scriptures say: “They divided my clothes among them, and they threw lots for what I was wearing.” So the soldiers did this.

Dice in the egg will represent the lot that was divided.

John 19:33-34 – But when the soldiers came close to Jesus, they saw that he was already dead. So they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers stuck his spear into Jesus’ side. Immediately blood and water came out.

A broken toothpick in the egg can represent the spear that pieced Jesus.

Matthew 27:59-60 – Then Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a new linen cloth. He put Jesus’ body in a new tomb that he had dug in a wall of rock. Then he closed the tomb by rolling a very large stone to cover the entrance. After he did this, he went away.

Clean linen cloth or fabric can represent the burial cloth that covered Jesus’ body.

Matthew 27:65-66 – Pilate said, “Take some soldiers and go guard the tomb the best way you know.” So they all went to the tomb and made it safe from thieves. They did this by sealing the stone in the entrance and putting soldiers there to guard it.

Use a small rock or pebble to represent the stone covering the tomb.

Matthew 28:5-6 “The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, the one who was killed on the cross. But he is not here. He has risen from death, as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was.”

This plastic egg will remain empty to represent the empty tomb.

Christian Easter Crafts – Resurrection Gardens

Why do we celebrate Easter? As Christians, we celebrate Easter because it recognizes the RESURRECTION of Jesus. Jesus was killed by crucifixion on a Friday (Good Friday) and then actually came back to life on the following Sunday (Easter.) Easter is often adorned with bunnies, eggs, and pretty dresses, but there are many ways we can still incorporate the “cute” things of Easter by not forgetting the reason for this season.

Before you get started, be sure to save this Easter Games List PDF for gatherings large and small, family Easter parties, youth groups, neighborhood playdates and more. See more Easter Games for Kids.

Family traditions are important for creating family memories and solidifying family bonds and relationships. Take a look at this list of unique and traditional Family Traditions to Start Now!

Family Traditions

a collage of family tradition ideas with kids and parents and family printables

I was not raised in a big family. Obviously, with five kids, I have a big family now. As my family has grown, the amount we can do with extended family has decreased (if that makes sense.) In a more direct explanation, it is hard to fly seven people. When are are able to travel, not everyone wants to house a large group of people for holiday. While big and small holidays have become more and more about our immediate family, it has caused me to create our own NEW family traditions.

Have you ever sat and read the Family Tradition Hank Williams Jr. lyrics? Don’t. PSA they are not family friendly. If you are looking for family tradition examples, I promise you they will be far from the family traditions Hank sings about in his well-known Family Traditions country song. I will however, commit to one lyric…

“I’m just carrying on an ole family tradition…”

What is a family tradition mean?

Family traditions are a set of activities you repeat within a family. They can be traditional family activities, cultural traditions or they can be unconventional and modern family activities. Family traditions make each family unique as they are experiences that not every family will have. When you combine family traditions, you create your own unique family blueprint.

Why are family traditions important?

Family traditions are important for creating family memories. Family memories are important for creating family bonds. When conducting research, I learned most family traditions are not very big. Rather it is the family activity that is done together that is important. It is in those family bonding moments, memories are formed.

Family traditions enrich your life together and contribute to your child’s well-being and security. They create long lasting family memories.

How do you make family memories?

If you think about the photographs of one’s life, how many can you pull to the forefront of your mind? Memories are created when something out of the ordinary happens. The same “ole” day to day activities, will not create a new synaptic gap (photograph) in your mind. They are routine and can easily be done with little thought. When new activities come in to play, new things are experienced and new things are seen. They are indexed as a nerve connection (new file) in our mind. These are the dots that are added to our road map of life.

Think of this example as a real road map. You drive down the road form city to city. The places you recall are the places you stop. A restaurant, a hotel, a theme park, a landmark and more. When you are on the road, everything appears the same and does not create a new dot on your road map. However, when you park the car, get out and visit an attraction, a dot is added on your journey.

Before you check out these family bonding ideas, I am sure you will also love…

Examples of Family Traditions

I am sure you are asking yourself, What are some good family traditions? If you are looking to start your own family traditions and add memories to one’s childhood, take a look at these family traditions ideas.  Let’s create some examples of family traditions to add dots on our road map of life.

Birthday Interview

We have a number of ways to celebrate Birthdays with Your Immediate Family. One easy tradition is this printable Birthday Interview. Ask your child the same questions every year and put them together in a time capsule (this does not have to be a box buried in the ground, keep it in a plastic bin in the closet!)  You also can lead your kids on a Birthday Scavenger Hunt! | Frugal Coupon Living

Family Game Night

Turn one weekend night a month into a regular reoccurring Family Game Night. This is actually a funny family tradition for us, so many of our belly laughs and the laughs that make you cry come from a weekend game night. | Frugal Coupon Living

Take a look at our Family Game Night Bucket List. Set includes 45 Family Game Night games with instructions and supply list, 18 Minute to Win it Games, Charades & Scattergories Game Cards and Scavenger Hunt Template.

Family Bucket Lists

Start seasonal Family Bucket Lists. You can do a new bucket list every holiday or do fewer with one in winter, spring, summer, and fall or one the entire year. Keep this bucket list on the fridge and check off the activities as you go. Relieve your childhood with your own kids by using this Eighties Summer Bucket List too!| Frugal Coupon Living

Pray Together

An important family tradition is praying. It can be as simple as praying before bed. This has been an activity we have done every night for as long as we can remember. Try the ACTS Prayer Method (pray with 1.) adoration, confession, thanksgiving and close with supplication or requests.)  Children thrive on routine and find security in deepening relationships. This gives them a glimpse into how you are feeling when you share your concerns and praise to the Lord. My husband and I have also created the tradition of listening to the Bible in a Year Podcast. This tradition has created deeper discussion among us has has been an excellent way to start the day.

Eat Dinner Together

Eating together is important for maintaining relationships. You can even have special dinner nights like Taco Tuesday, Meatless Monday or Sheet Pan Supper Wednesday. In order to stick to this dinner family tradition, start with just one night that is set apart. Perhaps give each member of the family a role in creating the complete recipe. One person can set the table, another create the prep, another serve the plates, etc.

Volunteer Together

Paying it forward is as much a gift for someone else as it is for you. Find a service project you can commit to for a season or once a month. There are many reasons to volunteer and instill the act of volunteering in our kids. Volunteering offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around us. It provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Plus, intrinsically, it gives to you just as much as it gives back to someone else!

Travel

Traveling is an example of doing something out of the norm. Take a cruise, go on a road trips, or even have a staycation week. Either way, make sure it is very different from your norm. If you are home, use a staycation to plan for future travel.

Family conversation starts cards and dinner questions printable

Dinner Questions for Conversation

Speaking of supper, download this set of nightly Dinner Conversation Starters. Dinner is the perfect occasion to communicate and often the opportunity is lost because of the distractions of the minutes. If dinner questions are not need, get to know your children and their day by every member sharing three good things about their day and one bad. This also provides an opportunity to focus on the “positive” yet still recognize the challenges a day can hold.

Cultural Family Traditions

Have you take a 23andme test? Did the results surprise you. Whether you are learning about a new culture or want to celebrate one you’ve already known, help your children celebrate their heritage by incorporating cultural family traditions. Visit a restaurant from your country, attend a cultural festival or cook a special meal on a certain day each year.

Annual Christmas Card

One family tradition you can keep (and you won’t regret this when the kids are out of the home) is taking an annual photo. It can be with a photographer or something information. Turn these yearly photos into annual Christmas Cards. One way to display your yearly Christmas cards is on a binder ring. Just add a hole punch to the corner. You can keep a binder ring for your family and a binder ring for the cards you get each year just like we see from Minted.

Pay It Forward Traditions

We have spoken many times about our family birthday idea. Take a look at this random act of kindness as a fun way to pay it forward on on your birthday at the Dollar Store or in the Dollar Spot at Target!

Valentine family tradition with red and purple hearts on a bedroom door

Valentine Family Tradition

This is one family tradition we do year after year and keep up for a long time. Add a sweet heart to your child’s do from February 1 to February 14th. The message is why they are a wonderful member of the family, a positive trait you see in them, etc. I even have my children each make a heart for each other once or twice during this period of time. It’s a great way to encourage your child.

Time Capsule Questions

Consider creating a time capsule or memory box for your child. This can include ticket stubs, baby teeth, photos from special events, special invitations, etc. Also add this Last Day of School Time Capsule. This set includes pre-K to 12th grade and is perfect for watching how your child has evolved.

Time Capsule Questions for Students Printable Set

Funny Family Traditions

They say laughter is the best medicine. Instead of following some of these traditional traditions for the family, try something unique only to your family. If you can incorporate humor, do it! For example, have a dress up night where you all eat hot dogs and Doritos on your best china. Play family board games including charades and Gestures (one of our favorites that always leads to belly laughs.) Take a look at these Weird Family Traditions from The Atlantic for some inspiration.

What are some of your favorite Family Traditions? I would love to hear from you so we can add to our list and share with others traditions for the family they might want to begin.
