hiking journal template and the best hiking locations in the united states

If you love the great outdoors and all things related to hiking, this blog post will be perfect for you! We’ll talk about the best hiking locations that should be on your bucket list of beautiful places to explore and we will share a hiking journal for you to keep track of your hiking experiences. Plus, we’ll explore some different types of hikes we think you’ll enjoy.

Different types of hiking

  • Hiking for enjoyment and recreation: this type of hiking is just about getting outside and having fun. You can look up hikes that are close by, plan a day hike or even find some trails with more challenging ascents to get your heart rate going!
  • Day Hikes: these types of hikes usually take place in the morning or afternoon so you can enjoy them before it gets dark out. Day hikes include short distances such as a few miles round trip.
  • Multi-day trips: these types of adventures might require camping gear and planning ahead but they’re worth it if you have time off work! These could be planned on any length of time–a weekend long adventure all the way to an extended vacation. Multi-day trips usually include more difficult ascents and descents as well.
  • Weekend adventures: these are day hikes that last for a few days, including Friday through Sunday. They’re perfect if you don’t have much time off work but still want to explore! Weekend adventures could also be planned on any amount of time–from one night to even four nights (Friday-Monday).
  • Camping: this is when you set up a place outside your home where you’ll stay for the evening or weekend and enjoy nature all around you. Camping includes setting up camp with tents, sleeping bags, cooking equipment and other things related to living outdoors away from your own home. You might need gear like hiking boots, backpacks, food storage containers or even a portable stove.

As you can see, there are many different types of hiking adventures that anyone could enjoy! Whether you’re an experienced hiker or just getting started with the sport, we hope this blog post will help inspire your next adventure out into nature!
