How to Hide Amazon Orders from Kids

How to hide Amazon orders from kids (and husbands!) Easy, one step, tutorial on how to keep nosey kids from discovering Christmas purchases, birthday gifts, and adult orders.

How to Hide Amazon Orders from Kids

How to Hide Amazon Orders from Kids

So it’s difficult to write this post because I realized I also have to hide my Amazon purchases from you all too! Haha. Honestly, they are not bad, I just am asking myself do I really want to show my audience all the junk I am buying!?… Well here it is, in all it’s glory!

How many years where you when you….

So this year (with my assistance) my pre-teen girls have started shopping on Amazon. They got gift cards for their birthday and when something comes to mind that they want, they slowly have been using their Amazon gift card money. I have taught them each to create wish lists of their likes, but often times things end up in the cart and I have to be careful not to buy their “toys” the half a dozen times a day I shop on Amazon myself.

Realizing they were all up in my junk on Amazon, I had to do something.  I actually though of contacting corporate. As if I had any pull to reaching the top ranking officials at Amazon… but it occurred to me. Then a friend totally saved the day!  If that fact that you can hide your orders makes you mind blown, don’t worry, I have been shopping on Amazon since 2008 and I learned this yesterday (that is ten years later!)

I was yesterdays year old!

I have five kids. Going out into the public is not an option. I tried to enter the public the other day at my child’s chorus performance and I had my two year old pegging cars at my daughter’s elementary peers. In addition to throwing the cars, he was screaming during the entire performance so that half the audience had their head turned to him, not the chorus singers. Why would a shopping trip to Target or Walmart be any better? Hence my daily visits to Amazon.

I digress.

Full disclosure before starting. I am not for hiding things from your spouse. These are for hiding gifts and presents, not for living a secret life! If that’s your goal, please move on to another resource for your Amazon orders.

How to Hide Amazon Orders from Kids*:

In order to hide Amazon Orders from kids, you first need to sign into your Amazon account  on your desktop or laptop. (I have not been able to get this to work on my phone.)

Second, on the right hand side of your Amazon bar (at the top of the screen) choose orders.

View your orders.

There are buttons beside each order. You are looking for the button that says Archive Order. Select that.

You will get a pop up message that says, “The archive limit is 100 orders.” This is true as of the time this post was written. Continue with choosing the Archive Order button in yellow.

There you have it. Your order is archived!

How to View Archived Orders:

You are limited to 100 archived orders. I definitely order more than 100 gifts. There is an option to view archived orders or to unarchive your orders. This is a little more hidden from kids, which makes it kind of nice.

First go into your account.

Look for the section Ordering and shopping preferences. Find Archived Orders.

Here you can see the items you archived. You can also unarchive your items if you are reaching your 100 count limit.

It is a good idea to unarchive items that you have already gifted making room for future gifts and items you never want the kids to see.

*Note: This post was written December 2018. Things change on Amazon. This is the directions for hiding orders as of the time this post was posted.

Trailer Park Murder Mystery Party

Who dunnit? It’s a Trailer Park Murder Mystery Party. Themed Trailer Park Tragedy party decor, costumes, tablescapes and recipes to pull of your ultimate Redneck bash.

Trailer Park Murder Mystery Party

 Trailer Park Murder Mystery Party

Red Solo cup, I fill you up! Let’s have a party… Redneck Style!

One of my dearest friends had a party I was incredibly jealous not to attend. With her living thousands of miles (and a continent) away, I forgave her for the lack of an invite, but i told her to take many pictures so I could live vicariously through her photos. Not only did I get to scroll through endless digital photos, I gathered them together to share with you all so you too could enjoy the celebration – a Trailer Park Murder Mystery Party!

What is a Murder Mystery Party?

A murder mystery party is a themed game played with a large group of people. Party-goers are assigned roles, with one individual secretly playing a fictitious murderer, and the other attendees each providing a character to fit the theme. The attendees work together to solve who among them is the criminal while not getting murdered themselves!

Trailer Park Tragedy

For her guidance, she referred to Night of Mystery Trailer Park Tragedy. There she got printables, invites, and a list of character, descriptions and directions for completing her perfect murder mystery party.

I didn’t want to leave you all hanging. I know we are both feeling left out of this party of a life time, so to warm both of our redneck hearts, I gathered together some of the most creative White Trash Bash party ideas from around the web. Use these DIY decorations, tablescapes and recipes, and free printables (made by yours truly!)

Recipe for Disaster

This trailer park tragedy is a recipe for disaster. Let us all lift our Red Solo cup and offer a toast to finding the murderer! Cheers y’all!

Party Tip: If you are the host/hostess, do not become the main character or narrator. It is hard keeping track of food, drinks, talking with guests, and staying in character!  It’s best to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor (prep) and enjoy the dinner show!

Home is where you park it! Welcome to the trailer park! Get ready for adorable party decor and trailer park party ideas.

Tuna fish cans, bean cans, and newspaper – they all make pretty centerpieces. Just add a tea light!

Hang a clothesline. We hand dyed these old clothes to make the perfect Trailer Park Clothesline. There were a few ways we made different items of clothing. First, we bleached old red and black boxer briefs. They held a little bit of the color but looked filthy and old once bleached. Second, we also took red clay (dirt) and rubbed them into white t-shirts, socks and fabric with rocks. Begin by wetting your fabrics. Then add the dirt. The rocks will help break down the fabric, cause some tears and really grind the dirt in the clothing. Lastly, we dyed some of the fabrics with Kool-Aid. It looks like something red was placed in a white wash. It also gave some of the fabrics a nice pink look! WE thought pink male underwear was perfect for our trailer park.

Speaking of coolers. Try to refrain from having garbage cans on the premise. Adding used plates and cans only adds more decoration to your lawn.

Brown kraft paper using for crafts or parcel helped make our outhouse door. Remember to keep that S in reverse! Amazon has a lot of funny toilet paper! (You can purchase an outhouse door cover here if you don’t want to make one.)

Every party has a pooper and this flower needed a pot. Problem solved using a toddler potty seat. (Normally these can be borrow from someone’s back yard – just look around the trailer park and leave a note!)

To make this beer box garland backdrop, we had hooks in our beam every foot. The beam is about 11 feet across. The beam to the bottom of the last box was about 6 feet, this allowed us to fit 4 boxes on the vertical rope. We weaved first box through the rope and tied near the top with a knot. We fed the rope through the second robe and added another knot. We continued this process with two more boxes for at total of four boxes per vertical rope. We took all our ropes and tied them to the horizontal rope about a foot apart. The hooks were helpful in giving us the exact amount of distance.

Every queen needs a handbag! Get 1.88 inch painters tape and write Gucci, Chanel, LV or whatever your designer brand. It could be kind of funny to do a very cheap brand anyways, like Old Navy or something already budget friendly.

When hosting a party, add a beautiful floral centerpiece. We find Vlasic pickles make a beautiful vase for flowers. Plus save money on the flower water because they already come with a pretty green water inside. Look for flowers in your neighbors yard instead of going to the store – those cost to much anyways.

Every Murder Mystery Party, needs a few accessories. Pick up these props and must have accessories for your Trailer Park Tragedy!

  • Printable Murder Mystery Props
  • Mugshot Backdrop
  • Inflatable Tire
  • Plastic Flamingo Yard Stakes
  • Billy Bob Fake Teeth or Ice Teeth Molds

  • Red Solo Cup Wine Glasses (or you could make your own!)
  • Belly Fanny Pack

Easy Buttery Popcorn Cupcakes – Creamy, sweet and topped with popcorn shaped marshmallows, this dessert is the perfect addition to a movie party, circus themed party, backyard movie night or family game night.

Popcorn Cupcakes

You know what has been my most favorite things about the kids growing up. They now can get in the kitchen and bake… and guess what?! They love it! I do too. Last week my daughter made lime sugar cookies with a lime butter cream frosting. This was using ingredients we had in the house too! So lately, I have been pinning more than just dinner recipes. I have been pinning baking recipes I want them to bake instead of me.

I wanted them to make these Popcorn Cupcakes for our Family Game Night.  I also thought they would go perfect with a Backyard Movie Night, as well. But honestly, the possibilities are endless. Bake for an Oscar Night Movie Party, Circus Themed Party, or even a Girls Sleepover!

Enjoy!

See these cupcakes in our Backyard Movie Ideas for the Outdoors and our Family Game Night Snack Ideas.

  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Vanilla creamy white frosting
  • Yellow gel food coloring

Description

Tweet, tweet. This birthday doesn’t have to be for the birds. Make these easy Peacock Cupcakes for your bird-themed party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Prepared Cupcakes, unfrosted
  • 1 Container White Frosting
  • 6 Blue Ice Cream Cake Cones
  • 12 Small Edible Eyes
  • Wilton Bubble Gum Sprinkles
  • 8 oz. Wilton Chocolate Melts, White
  • 8 oz. Wilton Chocolate Melts, Light Green
  • 8 oz. Wilton Chocolate Melts, Turquoise
  • Purple Sanding Sugar

Instructions

  1. Frost each cupcake with a layer of white frosting.
  2. Cut the top rim off each blue cone and discard the top rims. Set the cone parts with the opened end down on a tray so bottoms of the cones are faced up.
  3. Melt the white chocolate according to package directions and put it into a small plastic bag and snip the tip off. Put 2 dots of chocolate on each cone on the side near the top and press 2 eyeballs on. Put a dot of chocolate under the eyes and stick an orange tiny bubble gum sprinkle to those. Let the chocolate harden.
  4. Melt the other two colors of chocolate and put each of those colors in their own plastic bag and snip off an end.
  5. To make the peacock feathers, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pipe a feather shape of each color in a fan shape making sure the colors touch. Sprinkle the purple sugar on the white feathers. Put a little swirl of a different color chocolate on each feather to resemble the multi-color feathers of a peacock. My feather were about 3 inches long. Let these harden completely.
  6. Use the white chocolate to make 6 little “W” shapes on the parchment paper no more than an inch tall. Take each of the chocolate colors and put a dot on each end of the “W” shapes. Sprinkle some purple sugar on the little white dots. Let these harden completely. These will be the little feathers for the top of the peacock’s heads.
  7. On each cone on the opposite side of the eyes, put a dot of chocolate and stick a fan of the peacock feathers to it. It should look like the big fan of feathers is behind the cone body and the face.
  8. On top of each cone right above the eyes, put a dot of white chocolate, and stick the little feather “w” to it. Let all the chocolate harden.
  9. Put a peacock on each cupcake and press them into the frosting a little bit so they are secure.
  10. These cute cupcakes are great for any zoo or animal party!
