Banana and Nutella Stuffed Crescent Rolls – Easy chocolate croissants with Bananas on Frugal Coupon Living.

Banana and Nutella Stuffed Crescent Rolls

I am obsessed with Nutella and finding anyway I can make it without feeling too guilty is always exciting to me. We blended some of our favorites – Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, bananas, Nutella and seasoning for this perfect dessert (or breakfast – whatever your pleasure!) This recipe includes easy prep, quick baking, and will be a go-to snack you make over and over!

Ingredients:

Directions:

Preheat your oven 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix your cinnamon and sugar together in a small dish.
Lay your crescent dough on your parchment paper.
Spread about a teaspoon of Nutella on each crescent.
Slice your banana into about 1 1/2″ pieces and place one piece on top of the Nutella on the wide end of the crescent.
Roll your dough from the wide end to the small end and pinch together the ends.
Sprinkle on Cinnamon and Sugar.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Enjoy while warm

Nutella
1 Large Banana
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Preheat your oven 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Going from having the kids daily over summer to a 7+ hour school day, is a bit exhilarating but also a bit saddening. I admit there is a point in the day where I think about what are they doing, how are they feeling, did they finish their lunch, etc. During the school year, one of the best ways I connect with my kids is school notes – they love them too! Sometimes I find my older daughter packing my younger child’s school lunch and tossing in a note so that she feels special. It truly is a pick-up.

I have a drawer full of school notes. We offered these Back to School Free Printable Lunch Notes and I have picked up others too. You can print it out on paper and toss after use or laminate them and use them over and over. The paper ones are easy to write a note on the back, the laminated ones hold well in the lunch boxes for re-use. I attach a post-it note to them so I can add my own special message.

Directions:

1.) Download your FREE Lunch Notes (see below).

2.) Print on an 8 1/2 by 11 paper (card stock is my preference)

3.) Optional: Laminate using a home laminator. (This is is the Scotch Laminator that I have.)

Chalkboard Cookies with Edible Chalk

It’s just about here, Back to School Season and we are so excited over these Chalkboard Cookies with Edible Chalk! They make a perfect first week of school snack, perhaps surprise the kids after the first day of school! We also think they would be a fun classroom treat!

Ingredients:

Sugar cookies –

Black icing-

Chalk –

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl beat together your softened butter and sugar.
Now mixing your egg and vanilla.
Then mix in your flour and salt.
Form into a large dough ball, wrap, and set in the fridge for 1 hour.
Roll your dough out with a rolling pin and use a cookie cutter to cut out your shapes (add a little extra flour if it gets too sticky.)
Place your cookie dough shapes onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Bake your cookies for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Let your cookies cool.
While your cookies are cooling, in a large mixing bowl, mix together your powdered sugar, milk, light corn syrup and, almond extract, and black food coloring in until you have a thick icing.
Pour your icing into a decorating bottle.
Now in a small microwave safe bowl, heat your white chocolate wafers on 50% power for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Scoop your melted white chocolate into a plastic bag and cut the corner off.
Squeeze your white chocolate into your large plastic straws and set them in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
Now use your decorating bottle to outline your cookies with your black frosting, and then fill them in.
Use a toothpick to push on some end of the straw to push our your fake chalk and break into small chalk size pieces.

1 teaspoon almond extract
3 drops black liquid gel food coloring
Smoothie straws

Apple OREO Pops

Apples, School Buses, Chalkboards…. everything back to school. When it gets close to August, I get so excited about all things back to school – maybe it’s the former teacher in me. These Apple OREO Pops are so exciting as a first week of school snack, perhaps surprise the kids after the first day of school!

Ingredients:

Supplies:

Directions:

Separate your OREOs in half.
In a small microwave safe bowl, melt your chocolate melts on 50% power for 3-4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
Dip an end of a lollipop stick into your melted chocolate and place the stick onto one half of your OREO.
Add another dot of melted chocolate to the center of your Oreo on top of your lollipop stick and sandwich your cookie back together.
Let the cookies sit for about 10 minutes.
Roll out your green fondant into dime sized balls and shape into a small leaf.
Use the end of a knife to indent leaf lines into your leaves.
Break each pretzel in about 4 pieces to use for Apple stems.
Now hold your stick and dip your OREO into your melted chocolate, using a small spoon to make sure you cover the entire OREO.
Lay your chocolate covered OREOs onto a piece of parchment paper.
Place a fondant leaf and chocolate pretzel piece on the top of each OREO.
Once all your OREOs are covered transfer to a new piece of parchment paper and set in the freezer for 10 minutes.

OREOs (not double stuffed)
Wilton Red Candy Melts
Green Fondant
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Parchment Paper
Small Microwave Safe Bowl
Small Spoon
Lollipop Sticks
Kitchen Knife

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Separate your OREOs in half.
In a small microwave safe bowl, melt your chocolate melts on 50% power for 3-4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
