Headed to the beach? Hosting a pool party? These banana split sticks put a twist on the classic banana split recipe. Plus, they are cool because who doesn’t love dessert on a stick?

What are the main ingredients in a banana split?

when creating a traditional American Banana split there are a few key ingredient: Ice cream, chocolate syrup, bananas, nuts, whipped cream, and cherries. You can add other favorite ingredients like strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream, strawberries, pineapples, and caramel topping. The rules are your own and each individual’s Banana split can be created differently.

Are Banana Splits healthy or unhealthy – why?

Traditional banana splits would not fit many diets. Banana splits contain dairy (ice cream), chocolate, whipped cream and nuts which might be a problem for those with nut allergies. however, you can adapt the classic banana split recipe and create a healthy snack that doesn’t add too many calories but still is quite tasty and pleasing to your taste buds.

If making banana splits in a bowl or dish, try Greek yogurt. You also could add low-calorie whipped cream or leave it off. For those with nut allergies, leave off the peanuts or add granola instead! We personally find our banana splits on a stick are just at ouch of a treat but are also still very kind to those with diet restrictions.
