Rite Aid Starting Points – Earn 2000 Plenti Points Worth $20 in Savings

January 15, 2017 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Coupons, Rite Aid

There are not many opportunities for me to take care of myself. I have a newborn baby, we live a pretty frugal lifestyle, and quite frankly, if I have money to spend, it often is toward something for the family and not for myself. That being said, there are small ways I can invest in feeling great. Taking care of my skin, having white teeth, smelling good, taking supplements, and watching what I eat to look and feel great. My small indulgences might not be a manicure/pedicure or an hour on the massage table, but they are small things that make me feel groomed and well-kept to look and feel my best.

I have shared with you the best time to shop. When you can find a sale and a coupon. This is an opportunity to stockpile. Stock piling is buying enough of an item on sale to last you until the next sale cycle. With groceries and home products this is often on a six week rotation (give or take some time). That being said, now is a great time to stockpile on your needs from Rite Aid.

From now until January 21, 2017, Rite Aid is running Starting Points, a promotion that helps you earn extra Plenti points on your purchases. For example, spend $50 at Rite Aid before 1/21/17 and get 2000 Plenti points, worth $20 in savings! That is an instant 40% savings before sales and coupons just for shopping at your local drugstore chain.

Sale highlights for this week (1/15/17-1/21/17) include…

How Do Plenti Points Work? Every 1,000 Plenti points is worth at least $10 or more you can use to save on any purchases at Exxon, Macy’s, Mobil, and Rite Aid. You just use your points at checkout by using your Plenti card or you can provide your phone number at Rite Aid.

Chocolate Dipped Cookie Dough Hearts

Is anyone else a cookie dough eater? What is it about this sweet treat. Often my cookies get eaten raw before the make it to the oven to bake. We have the perfect treat for the cookie dough and chocolate lover! These Cookie Dough Hearts are the perfect treat. Serve for Valentine’s Day or any ole’ reason. Enjoy!

Chocolate Dipped Cookie Dough Hearts:

Yields: 25 – 35 hearts (may vary depending on size of cookie cutter used)
Total Time: 20 minutes + 30 minutes cool time = 50 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • Optional: decorative sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, sugars, softened butter and vanilla extract in a large bowl. With clean hands, work the dough. Add 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and continue to work the dough until chocolate chips are incorporated. One tablespoon at a time, add water if needed to get the desired consistency.
  2. Lay a piece of parchment paper on a large flat surface (baking sheet or cutting board works well). Place the dough onto the parchment paper and spread it out evenly until the thickness reaches approximately 1/2”.
  3. Place the cookie dough in the fridge to cool for 20 minutes.
  4. Once cooled, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts from the dough (smaller cookie cutters work best to make bite sized pieces). Combine the scrap dough continually to make as many hearts as possible.
  5. Once all dough is used, place 2 cups milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 15-20 seconds, stir and continue this process until chocolate is completely melted. Place one heart in the chocolate at a time and completely coat. Using a fork lift the cookie dough heart out of the chocolate – tapping the side of the bowl to ensure excess chocolate drips off. Place the chocolate covered heart back on the parchment paper, and quickly add sprinkles (if desired) while chocolate is still melted. Continue this process until all cookie dough hearts are covered in melted chocolate.
  6. Chill in the fridge for 10 additional minutes and then serve.

*Cookie dough hearts should be stored in the refrigerator
