April Fool’s Day Teacher Gift Tag + Digital DownloadsDo you remember the teacher that really impacted your life? I had a lot of great teachers growing up. Perhaps that is why I went into education, myself, in college. One of the teachers that really made a difference was Mrs. Cassels. She taught me Art History and even took me to Europe for a month were we toured museums, cathedrals, ancient ruins and more. Years later, I moved to Washington, D.C. and was able to wow my kids through the Smithsonian Art Museum where I shared my love of painting and sculptures with my kids – they were quite impressed with my knowledge and I was honestly impressed with all I had not forgotten!

April Fool’s Day Teacher Printable

On a regular basis, I try to show my kids’ teachers love. Usually it is through singing up for a thankful Thursday and sending in a candy bar or coffee. Other times it is during a holiday season and attaching a cute printable to a small gift. That was our intention with this freebie. Print your free No Fool gift tag and pair with caramel popcorn, cookies, an apple, or whatever you desire! Maybe a coffee will go far too – who doesn’t love caffeine?

These are the supplies we used for our gifts, you can of course adapt to your own needs!

April Fool’s Day Teacher Gift Tag + Digital DownloadsYou will also need material to print your gift tag. Use white card stock or send online to Staples to pick up. (see below.)

I’m No Fool Directions:

Have fun with this free teacher printable gift tag. Your directions will differ from ours based on how you use the printable, but this is how we created our gifts.

We baked cookies according to package directions. Once they cooled we added them to clear cellophane bags and tied them off with red and white twine. We cut our gift tags out and whole punched them on the right side. We tied the bag to the twine with a bow.

We had some mason jars and added some tasty caramel popcorn to the inside. You can make your own or pick up a store bought brand – have you tried POPT! Caramel Buttery Popcorn? Once your mason jar is full, screw on the lid and tie on a red polka dot bow. Add your gift tag before gifting.

Another great idea is a classic apple – an apple a day keeps the doctor away! If you feel like an apple is too cliche, step it up by gifting a caramel or candy apple! Wrap in a clear cellophane bag and tie with a red and white polka dot bow. Don’t forget to add your no fool April Fool’s Day gift tag!

We have two versions of tags. One that says Happy Fool’s Day and one that does not.

Sign in or create a Staples account.
Return to the Staples Printing Service Page.
Scroll down to Self-Service printing.
Go to Start Project.
Go to Documents Printing.
Select Browse.
Select the Buy Now Button under color.
In the left column, choose add file(s).
Select upload files (to upload a file from your computer).
Add more files or select the blue upload button.
Select done.
Give your job a name in the top left column.
Choose color or B&W.
Make sure your project is single sided. (You can choose double sided if you need.)
Choose the correct orientation of your project – landscape or portrait.
I changed my media to 8.5×11 67 lb card/coverstock (I prefer a card stock feel over printer paper feel. It makes the paper very durable and sturdy.)
Save your product to Staples or select add to cart on the bottom right.
Proceed to checkout.

A fun kids’s food craft for spring – these Easter Rice Krispie Treat Egg Pops make a cute snack and classroom party idea. Dessert on a stick!

Easter Rice Krispie Treat Egg Pops

These are some of the cutest Rice Krispie Treats we’ve ever made! Marbled with pastel colors, these treats are cut out with an egg shaped cookie cutter and skewered onto sticks! You could also cut them out in your favorite Easter shape! The ingredients are simple and just take an extra couple of steps to make them look marbled. These would be perfect wrapped individually in cellophane and tied with a pretty ribbon to peek out of an Easter basket!

Ingredients:

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows
3 Tablespoons butter
Purple, red, and yellow food coloring
1 tablespoon butter for greasing your pan

You will also need-

Directions:

Add your marshmallows and butter to a large mixing bowl.
Microwave for 1 minute or until marshmallow gets puffy and large.
Separate your melted marshmallows into 3 separate bowls, and 1 drop of different food coloring to your bowls so they are all different colors and mix well.
Now scoop out 2 cups of your rice cereal into each bowl and mix.
Grease all sides and bottom of a 9×13 baking pan with butter.
Now start scooping your Rice Krispies into your greased pan, rotating colors.
Press your Rice Krispies into your pan evenly.
Freeze for 30 minutes.
Once cooled, remove from freezer and begin cutting out egg shapes with your egg cookie cutter.
If desired, place a colored lollipop stick into the bottom center of your Rice Krispie eggs.
Serve and enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows

Colored lollipop sticks

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Add your marshmallows and butter to a large mixing bowl.

Glow in the dark eggs – a science experiment for kids. Easily create a naked egg through a chemical reaction of dissolving an egg’s shell in vinegar. Make it glow with this added ingredient for extra creativity and fun!

Did you love our 5 Minute Science Experiments for Kids? We wanted to come up with some more ideas for you to enjoy!

At our house, we’re big science lovers. We love making fun science experiments with the kids that aren’t just the basic experiments, but that have a fun twist in some way. We found out that by using a highlighter marker as a dye, you can make the classic rubber egg science experiment glow in the dark!

How does it work? The dye in the highlighter marker is highly reflective, so when you shine a black light or a flashlight on the egg, it glows in the dark! You can also use this experiment to teach kids about osmosis, chemical reactions, and why vinegar dissolves egg shells.

If you don’t have a highlighter marker, you can also use the inside of a glow stick to make the eggs glow.

Glow in the Dark Eggs Supplies:

Not many ingredients are needed in this science experiment. Many of these supplies are probably found in your own home!

Glow in the Dark Eggs Directions:

This process will take a few days but only take a few minutes to prep.

First, fill a jar with vinegar and set aside.

Cut open the highlighter marker and drop the ink pad into the vinegar. Make sure you squeeze the pad to remove all of the ink from the highlighter pad.

Carefully place one or two eggs into the jar. Set the jar on the counter for about 3 days.

Remove the eggs from the jar when bits of shell rise to the top of the jar. Rinse any remaining shell from the eggs.

Next, dry off the eggs and take them into a dark room.

This is the fun part! Shine a black light or flashlight on the eggs to watch them glow. The highlighter ink reacts with the light, making the egg glow!

Once you’re done admiring the egg’s glow, you can pop the egg open to examine the parts of the egg. The squishy membrane, the egg white, and the egg yolk are all clearly visible when these eggs are popped, which makes it a fun lesson in themes including the construction of an egg, osmosis, and chemical reactions.

What Happened?

A shell of an egg is made up of calcium carbonate. If you soak this egg shell in vinegar, you start a chemical reaction that dissolves the calcium carbonate shell releasing carbon dioxide gas. The egg insides remain intact and are held together by a membrane just inside the shell.
