Inspiring Twin Nursery Ideas for Boy Twins, Girl Twins and Boy/Girl Twins. How to arrange cribs plus cute and adorable twin bedroom ideas to get you motivated during your nesting.

So I have been meaning to make an announcement – we are having twins. Maybe by the time I publish this post, I will have created a blog post that shares the good news. I did, however, share on Facebook and got some excellent advice for having twins! I have three children, one of whom turns one in October. Hearing I was having baby 4 AND 5 in one pregnancy was quite shocking. Especially considering these two will be only 14 months older than my son. I’ve done close births before. My girls are 16 months apart (they ironically often get mistaken for twins) but this will be closer, and will be 3 babies – Ahhh. If you are a twin mom, please share you tips and tricks!

So in an effort to compose myself, I start nesting. Often early. It helps me bond with the babies and it helps me feel like there is just a little bit of organization – I strive on being organized (yes, I know that is out the door with 5 kids!) SO in my hunt to organize, I found these Inspiring Twin Nursery Ideas. At the time of creating this post, I do not know the genders of my two so I am finding nursery ideas for two boys, two girls, and a boy/girl twin set. Congrats to you mama (I assume you are reading this because you are having twins too!)

Update: We are having twin boys!

While reading through this post, this mom found a couch was best for a twin nursery (it gives you more space when nursing). Since she was a budget for creating the space, her furniture is from IKEA. I love the accents, though, where she spent a little more money on places like The Land of Nod | Twist Me Pretty

Locker Ideas for the Coolest Kid in the Hall

Middle school can be intimidating. The big halls, the switching classes, feeling like a little fish in a large pond… but come on, when it comes to the locker (only), you know you wanna go back. To me, decorating a locker is like the graduation of decorating your childhood doll house. You have graduated from the dolls/Barbies, but this gives you your unique space to have fun and call your own. While my girls are still in elementary school, I had fun with this post. I love the rungs, the chandeliers, the shelving, the decor, all the little touches that would make your little (excuse me, big girl) feel special on the first day of school! And you know what mom, a lot of it is still fun and juvenile just to keep her from growing up too soon!

Locker Party Idea: with some of these homemade locker crafts, consider having friends over a few weeks before school starts. You could buy plush fabric and make your own locker carpets. You could also buy all the supplies you need to make some of these DIY locker decorations. It’s a fun way to celebrate and bond before the first school bell rings.

Ok really, how easy and adorable are these DIY Glittered Clothespins? Frugal, easy, and a fun locker accessory! I love that you can do them yourself in a day. You know our little girl will take pride in them too. | The Proper Blog

A school locker essential might be a fun dry erase board. We love this Locker Zebra Dry Erase Board from Pottery Barn Teen. You can find more HERE.

Have your subjects stand out with these printable binder covers! Easily see each subject without digging in your locker! | The Preppy Greek

In your locker, magnets must be strong! Take a look at the best locker magnet. This one can hold a lot of weight without slipping! | Lockers and Magnets

The floor of a locker can get gross – especially after the dozens of students that have used the locker before you! Pick up a fun locker rug – a Locker Lookz Shaggy Rug!

Your daughter is going to love personalizing her space! Take a look at these fun and creative locker wallpapers! No one wants to look at ugly metal! These prints come from Pottery Barn Teen.

Just walking inside a Hobby Lobby store gives me inspiration. If you need a look to inspire your creative locker juices, take a look at this adorable locker! | Hobby Lobby

Chandelier in your locker? We say “Yes please!” Let there be light. | The Container Store

I love this color coded key for keeping track of your subjects and classes. Notice how each binder is a different color and the chart on the locker door lists the color-coded subjects. | Source Unknown

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD

Online you can find ENDLESS Elf on the Shelf Accessories, Books, Games and Toys.

End of the Year Printable Teacher Gift

It’s becoming that time, the end of the year. I have been in three places at the end of the year. I have been the student, the teacher and now I am the parent. As a student, I didn’t comprehend what I was leaving behind. I had amazing educators but I never walked out of the door in tears. As a teacher of 5th grades, I had such sadness seeing my babies walk down the hallway the last time, they had grown up and I was letting my baby birds fly. As a parent, having been in the previous place I have gratitude toward my children’s teachers. I know how much they care for my girls and I know how important their students are. With that, I want to thank them any and every way I can.

We love this end of the year printable – Thank you for PUSHING me to do my BEST this year! We find this to be the sweetest and a thoughtful gift to accompany anything else.

DIY Valentine Wreath

I made this wreath last year for Valentine’s Day and I love it!  It was so easy and very cheap.  I got all of my materials at Hobby Lobby in two separate trips so I was able to use two 40% off coupons.

Supplies:

  • 1 or 2 wire hangars (I used two and wired them together) – FREE
  • 2-3 yards of Red Burlap – $5.98 (use 40% off coupon)
  • Letters ‘X’ and ‘O’ in Chipboard – $2.49 each.  I used a coupon for one so paid $3.49 total.
  • Two sheets of scrapbook paper – $.59 total (on sale for 50% off)
  • Ribbon – already had on hand
  • Mod Podge – already had on hand
  • X-ACTO Knife – already had on hand

Directions:

  1. Stretch your hangar into a circle or unhook it to put two hangars together.  I just overlapped mine to the desired size.
  2. Lay the fabric out flat and measure 5″ widths and cut.
  3. Begin putting the fabric on the hangar going back and forth until the whole strip is on.  Repeat until the hangar is full.
  4. Twist the hanger back together to close.  I had to get more fabric later because all they had was 1 1/2 yds!   You will want it to be much fuller than this!
  5. To make the letters, lay the scrapbook paper face down and glue the letters on using the Mod Podge.
  6. Once dry, trim the paper around the letters with an X-ACTO knife, then Mod Podge the surface to seal and provide a shine.
  7. Glue the letters together with hot glue and then glue the ribbon onto the back.
  8. Loop over the top of the hangar and add a bow to cover. Ta-da!

Try it and let me know how it turns out!  I plan to make one for Easter too!
