Have company coming over this Easter season? How about adding Peter Cottontail to your bathroom as a fun display. Place in baksets around the home or add something cute to a child’s bedroom. You will love this easy step-by-step TP Easter Bunny Craft!

Supplies

  • 1 Roll Of Toilet Paper
  • 2 Sheets White Tissue Paper
  • 1 Sheet White Construction Paper
  • 1 Sheet Pink Construction Paper
  • 1 Black Marker
  • 2 Plastic Eyes (Dollar Tree as a whole bag for $1)
  • Hot Glue
  • 3 Cotton Balls

Directions

  1. Lay the two sheets of tissue paper flat on the table. One on top of the other.
  2. Set the roll of toilet paper in the center of the tissue paper with one hole at the top. Carefully tuck the ends of the tissue paper into the hole. Slowly work your way all the way around, until all the tissue paper is tucked in your bunny’s body.
  3. Now take your cotton balls and slightly pull them apart, so that they are nice and fluffy. Add three small dots of hot glue around the hole with all the tucked in tissue paper. Place the cotton balls on all three dots. This should now be covering the opening and creating the tail for the bunny.
  4. On the other end glue the plastic eyes about a half inch down form the edge of the roll.
  5. Cut out a few strips of white construction paper to make whiskers. Also cut out a oval shape nose from the pink constriction paper. Hot glue these at the center of the hole. Even with the opening being covered you will be able to slightly see it. Add a dot of hot glue and then lay the whiskers down first and then the nose.
  6. Take your black marker and draw a line under the nose making a J facing both ways.
  7. Last we need to make the ears. This can be a bit trickier and you can do it differnet that I have.
  8. Take the white construction paper and fold it in half. Then cut out a long oval shape that is flat at one end. By having your paper folded you sould end up with two ears after cutting. Fold them so that there is a cress down the center lenght ways. Now at the end of a slit about an in long. Then add a fold at the top of that slit. Fold the two pieces over. Then fold a fold at the top of that slit. Fold the two slit pices over each other, making somehting similar to the corner of a box. Tuck the ends of those pices up and down to lock them in place.
  9. Now on the top of the roll just above the eyes, glue an ear. Make sure that the boxed edge we made is facing the oppostie side of the eyes so you cannot see them when looking at the face.
  10. After they are glued in place carefully bend them over and glue them to the back end with a small dot of hot glue.

Easter Bunny Tails Printable – Bag and Jar Topper

We LOVE Easter and enjoy giving treats to our friends, teachers and loved ones. Package up some of these puffy bunny tails (donut holes) and print a topper that is too cute for words! There are 2 ways to share these treats, in a mason jar with a decorated lid or in a ziploc bag, sealed with a paper topper. It’s just that simple to create an Easter goody! They are also a great Sunday School gift! Marshmallows would also be a delicious alternative to donut holes.

Tips: Our examples are printed on cream card stock. On the bag toppers, we folded our Ziploc Bag on top (underneath the label to shorten. We cut the circles out for the Mason Jars but a 3″ punch will work too. They would also be ADORABLE packaged in these Lavender Mason Jars!

“He is not here; for he is risen!” Share the message of the gospel this spring with these Easter Resurrection Cupcakes. These open tomb cupcakes are an easy food craft for the kids.

Easter Resurrection Cupcakes

He is not here; for he is risen! Matthew 28:6

Through this food craft, you can share the message of the Gospel. Did you know Gospel means good news? Our good news is Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day.  No works or actions of ours will get us through Heavens gates, only accepting him as our Lord and savior.

Our goal for these cupcakes is easy with a message of the Gospel. Either make a boxed cupcakes recipe or ask your grocery store’s bakery if you can have some un-iced cupcakes.  Chocolate or vanilla cupcakes are fine. We used vanilla, but chocolate would definitely look more like soil!  You can whip up this food craft in just a few minutes.

How to Make Gold Leaf Easter Eggs

Easy tutorial, How to Make Gold Leaf Easter Eggs. Directions for real or faux eggs.

How to Make Gold Leaf Easter Eggs

How to Make Gold Leaf Easter Eggs

Growing up I can recall getting my die tabs, dropping a hard boiled egg in a clear cup of colored water. This was how we colored our eggs every year. On rare occasions, I got a kit that also came with stickers or a stand and I was able to add a little texture to my Easter Eggs. As I have gotten older and have kids of my own, I have researched different out of the box, out of the carton,  Easter Egg Ideas.

How to Make Gold Leaf Easter Eggs

That was our goal here. To provide you with a creative, really easy, Easter Egg idea. These Gold Leaf Easter Eggs use Liquid Gold Leaf (and it doesn’t cost that much!) You can make them with real eggs or faux eggs as we chose to do in this craft. We had Acrylic Paint, which we purchased at our craft store, but there are many pretty Easter colors online. There is some drying involvement, so feel free to break this craft up into a day or two. That makes each sitting even shorter allowing it to not become a craft that is too time dependent.

Gold Leaf Easter Eggs Supplies:

  • Faux Paper Mache Eggs (You can use real eggs – just hard boil them or blow them out first!)
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • Assorted Colors Acrylic Paint
  • Liquid Gold Leaf
  • Paint Brush
  • Craft Sponge
  • Floral Foam Brick
  • Flat Head Pins

Gold Leaf Easter Eggs Directions:

First, in a piece of floral foam, push in flat head pins. This will be your drying station so the eggs can dry elevated so your paint doesn’t smudge.

You will need to paint your eggs white. If you are using dark colors you can omit this step if you want, but for lighter colors it’s a must! If you are using real eggs, they are already white so you can omit this step as well.

Once painted, allow the paint to dry and then paint your choice of color. We chose Easter colors like light pink, light purple, a pastel blue, a Easter grass green color.

Allow to dry again. Luckily this doesn’t take long to dry but we waited a day to be safe.

Cut a piece of craft sponge to use in the gold leaf. Using a smaller piece allowed us to have more control over the coloring. Before opening your gold leaf, shake your bottle well. If you don’t it will come out a reddish color… no bueno.

Pour a bit of gold leaf onto a paper plate and sponge it as little or as much as want on your eggs.

Allow to dry and display. Enjoy and be sure to check out our other Easter Egg Ideas.

How to Make Marbled Easter Eggs with Nail Polish

How to Make Marbled Easter Eggs using Nail Polish and Easter Eggs plus easy DIY Egg Drying Rack Tutorial.

How to Make Marbled Easter Eggs

Dyeing eggs is so fun! We shared with you before, Easter Egg Ideas that are outside of the box. Today we have more Easter Egg ideas – How to Make Marbled Easter Eggs with Nail Polish. This egg dyeing process is really easy. We also share and easy tutorial on how to make your own Egg drying rack from a floral foam brick.

I have many memories of dyeing eggs as a kid. They were all of using short plastic cups and adding my hard boiled egg to colored water.  If I was lucky, we got a kit with little paper stands or even stickers – stickers were my favorite. We then displayed the eggs in Easter grass – my how times changes with the evolution of Pinterest!

Many of these supplies you likely have in your home. Trying gathering old nail polish bottles that are almost out, otherwise pick up this Cheap Nail Polish set. We suggest gloves to keep the marbled pattern off your hands, but have some nail polish remover near by for a quick and easy clean up.

Marbled Easter Eggs Supplies:

  • Eggs
  • Room Temperature Water
  • Bowls
  • Cheap Nail Polish
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Plastic Gloves
  • Toothpicks
  • Floral Foam Brick
  • Flat Head Pins

How to Make Marbled Easter Eggs:

First, prepare your eggs. You can hard boil your eggs or use a small needle to blow the eggs out. If you blow the eggs out, you will be able to save them and use them year after year!

Second, you want to prep your drying rack.

In a piece of craft foam, place flat head pins in. This will allow your eggs to dry without having to be fully set down. You will appreciate this as it will keep your dyed eggs from becoming smudged!

Once your eggs are cooled, fill a small bowl with room temperature water.

Next pour nail polish in a swirling pattern on the water. If the water is the right temperature, the polish should float to the top. This is your goal!

You can mix different colors or stick to one color. We prefer a good swirl of colors.

To get a good swirl, use a toothpick to create a swirling pattern.

Put your gloves on to protect your skin. You do get some on you when placing your egg in the mixture. Dunk your egg into the polish water and set on the Easter egg drying rack to dry. You will be able to usually get half of the egg dyed at once, so have patience!

Allow to dry and then finally repeat on the other side if desired.

Enjoy your eggs! I get you will get many compliments! Don’t forget our other  Easter Egg Dyeing Ideas!

How to Dye Easter Eggs with Rice

Dyeing eggs is so fun! We shared with you before, Easter Egg Ideas that are outside of the box. Today we have more Easter Egg ideas – How to Dye Easter Eggs with Rice. This egg dyeing process is really simple too.

This easy to-do DIY makes memories that will last forever.  After dyeing, celebrate Easter this season with your kid’s favorite tradition, Easter egg hunting! These eggs are easy to make, using simple ingredients in your home. Use this recipe for spring party decor or even as a game – like an Easter Egg toss but only one is not hardboiled!  For more Easter egg hunting ideas, be sure to check out our nighttime glow in the dark Easter egg hunt.

(I have to insert that the paragraph above was written by my fifth grader. I have learned to embrace her presence and put her to work on some of her first tasks of work and helping mom out. Normally she helps by picking up toys or watching her younger siblings, but today I gave her a stab at writing an introductory paragraph to our Easter egg rice post. I’d say she did a pretty good job!)

Happy Easter and happy dyeing!

Easter Egg Dyeing Technique

Many of these supplies you likely have in your home. I think you could make these without shopping, but below are the four supplies and ingredients you need!

Riced Dyed Easter Eggs Supplies:

  • 1 Dozen Hardboiled Eggs
  • 6 Cups White Rice
  • Food Coloring (6 assorted colors)
  • 6 Sandwich Size Baggies

Easter Egg Food Coloring

How to Dye Easter Eggs with Rice:

First, hard boil your eggs on your own. There are many recipes online for making the best hardboiled eggs – I like the way we hardboiled eggs in this post, Reversed Easter Egg Deviled Eggs.

Once you have cooled hard boiled eggs, place one cup of rice into each baggie and add 7-8 drops of food coloring into each one. Close bag and squish the rice around so all the color mixes in well.

Once mixed well, open up and place one hard-boiled egg inside. Close bag and shake the bag around until you have your desired color.

You will repeat step 2 until all the eggs are colored. Have fun mixing two or three colors or make a fun rainbow egg with all the colors.

After all eggs are complete, place back in carton or on paper towels to dry and store in refrigerator. You can check out our drying rack tutorial if you want to make your own.
