Our Southern Tartar Sauce was a hit, just like Red Lobster. This week, check out this amazing Copycat In-N-Out Secret Sauce. When you find a good sauce that goes with just about anything, you stick with it and have some in the fridge at all times! I’ve heard this referred to as ‘come back’ sauce, because you always come back to it! We love this sauce slathered on our burgers and it’s also delicious to dip your fries or chicken strips in! Veggies would be great dipped in it too! Who are we kidding, it’s good on everything! Enjoy!

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 tsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. onion very finely minced

Burger Ingredients:

  • Hamburger buns
  • hamburger patties grilled
  • American sliced cheese (optional)
  • lettuce
  • tomato sliced
  • onion finely sliced

Directions:

  1. Stir sauce ingredients together until well combined.
  2. For the bun, butter both sides and toast until butter melts and edges get a little crispy.
  3. Smother sauce on bottom bun.
  4. Put on tomato slice.
  5. Place lettuce on top on top of tomato.
  6. Place patty on top of lettuce.
  7. Top the patty with onion and a little more sauce.
  8. Place on the bun top and Enjoy!

Six Awesome Ways to Do Water Play with Kids this Summer
Pin to Pinterest

We’re just a weeks into a long summer and you want to make sure you have plenty of ammo in your mommy arsenal to keep the kids busy! It’s a great time to be outdoors but oh so hot. Try some of these fun, and simple activities to keep kids cool and in the fresh air. With the exception of just a few items most of these supplies should be laying around your house or garage.

Bottle Sprinkler – Poke a clean 2 liter bottle with holes all around. Attach a male to male adapter that you can pick up at your local home improvement store for just a couple bucks. Connect your water hose. Drape the hose over a branch, turn on water. You now have now completed a homemade, recycled (pat yourself on the back here) and easy peasy project.

Ice-cavating – Use a butter tub, or other disposable small plastic container. Drop several of your child’s favorite plastic toys in, fill to 1” from top with water. (Speaking of toys, dinosaurs make a fun archeology dig.) Freeze overnite. A few minutes before you’re ready to go outside and begin pull container from freezer to allow ice block to loosen from the sides. Take ice block outside and lay it in the grass. Give your child spoons, a magnifying glass and a bucket of water with cups for pouring . Encourage your child to experiment with different techniques to melt the ice and free their toys. Older children can be given additional items such as salt, or a mallet. If using a mallet or sharper tools, please keep children closely monitored.

Sponge Balls – Cut standard kitchen sponges into 3 strips, alternating colors-stack the sponges, twist small rubber brand around the middle, then spread the sponges and fluff them out. Give each child a bucket of water for rewetting, and several sponge balls. Don’t forget to stand back!

Water Bag Piñata – Gather a 5 gallon plastic bag (garbage bags can be picked up at Dollar Tree), a rope, a bandana or other blindfold, a stick or broom handle. Fill plastic bag with 1-2 gallons of water, then tie a knot in bag. Tie the rope just below the knot. Blindfold your child, and have an adult drop rope and bag over a limb- you can either tie it so it remains stationary or tease challenge your child by raising and lowering the bag as they swing. It could be fun to fill with new small water toys you picked up at the dollar store.

Sand and Water Table – Make your own sand and water play tables by purchasing some inexpensive bins from Wal-Mart or the Dollar tree. Fill one with sand, and one with water. Provide your child with simple household items like; spoons, cups, sand toys, medicine droppers, funnels, colanders, etc. Besides just being plain old fun this will allow you to sneak in some learning- Measuring, mixing, bouancy, The Scientific Method (hypothesis) and fine motor skills through pouring, and scooping. Won’t you be the clever mama?

Squirt Gun Phonics – Here is another sneaky learning game, you can do this on your driveway, or the side of a wooden fence or shed. Draw random letters, numbers, words, or even shapes for the little ones. Ask your child to “shoot” the letters as you call them out or sound them out. This is also a great muscle building activity to help develop fine motor skills.

Have fun and don’t forget to let yourself get caught up in some of the water fun with your kiddo’s this summer. These sweet memories will linger in their minds long after the school bell rings.

Green Up Your Laundry with Grove Collaborative + Free Seventh Generation

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

June 8, 2017 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Coupons, Facebook, Instagram, Online Shopping, Pinterest, Social Media

published date: June 08, 2017
modified datt: June 06,2017

Over the last few years, we’ve made a lot of changes to make our home greener. We’ve swapped plastic water bottles for refillable ones, started buying locally grown foods, and switched to natural cleaning products.

But the one area where we haven’t gone 100% green is laundry — until now.

Of course, the easiest way to reduce our environmental impact would be do less laundry. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to do that yet (if I do, you’ll be the first to know!).

Until that happens, one easy way to green up your laundry is with this FREE Laundry Kit of Seventh Generation Free & Clear laundry detergent + stain remover + fabric softener from Grove Collaborative.

Grab your kit and then come back here for more green laundry tips:

  • Switch to natural detergent: One of the reasons I held out on making the switch is that I struggled to find a natural detergent that I loved and that actually worked. I tried homemade detergent, but it just didn’t work for me. Now I’ve finally found a natural detergent that I love: Seventh Generation Free & Clear is free from fragrances, dyes, and optical brighteners. Plus, it really gets our clothes clean.
  • Wash in cold water: Switching to cold water saves energy (and money!). If you’re worried that your clothes won’t get as clean in cold water, don’t be: Seventh Generation laundry detergent is made to be used in cold water.
  • Wash a full load: This isn’t usually a problem in our house, since our laundry baskets are perpetually overflowing (yours too?). But if my favorite blouse is dirty and don’t have time for a full load of laundry, I’ll hand wash it in the bathroom sink with a few drops of detergent. When it’s done, I hang it over the towel bar to dry.
  • Use less detergent: You know how you’re always telling your kids, “A little dab of glue will do?” Well, the same is true of laundry detergent. Using too much detergent can gum up your machine and leave your clothes dingy. Seventh Generation’s detergent has a convenient measuring cap so you don’t overdo it.
  • Recycle packaging: Laundry detergent bottles are some of the least recycled containers — probably because getting that goo off the insides is a pain. When I get down to those last few drops, I fill the bottle with water and shake it up. As a bonus, that actually creates enough suds for more load of laundry!
  • Pre-treat stains: Spilling coffee on myself is inevitable. When that happens, I hit the stain right away with Seventh Generation stain remover. That keeps the stain from setting so I don’t end up having to wash it twice.
  • Skip the fabric softener sheets: After years of using fabric softener sheets, I finally decided to try something that creates less waste. Seventh Generation’s liquid fabric softener leaves clothes soft and static-free.
  • Air dry: Another reason I love liquid fabric softener is because we air dry many of our clothes, and no one likes stiff jeans! We have limited outdoor space and I’m not a fan of hanging my laundry on our balcony for the world to see, so I hang everything in the bathroom to drip-dry.
  • Make your laundry room lovely: OK, so this doesn’t have much to do with going green. But I find that laundry is so much more enjoyable when it looks beautiful! I corralled all our laundry products in a basket to keep things tidy. It doesn’t hurt that this Seventh Generation Laundry Kit all matches and comes in pretty white containers (so much nicer than those loud orange bottles!).

Bonus tip: If you’ve been wanting to green up your laundry, grab this free Laundry Kit from Grove Collaborative HERE. You’ll also get a free 60 day VIP trial, which means free shipping, free gifts, price-matching, and exclusive service.
