Looking for fun birthday ideas? Make each and every family member feel special on their birthday with these Family Birthday Celebrations. These creative kids birthday ideas might just become your family’s new favorite traditions!

Family Birthday Celebrations

Family Birthday Celebrations

Our family used to have more elaborate birthday celebrations for our kids. As the years have gone by and our family headcount has gone up, the kids’ birthday celebrations have become more simplified. Our girls were 7 and 8 when their younger brother came and 8 and 9 when their additional brothers (twins) came, so it was hard to give them the celebration they deserved with all the craziness going on. That being said, there were years that it was easy (and affordable) to throw them a kids birthday party with friends. They have gotten older, and less interested, and I have been researching fun birthday ideas to make them feel loved at home without spending hundreds of dollars.

I’ve rounded up the best fun birthday ideas below to make your younger kids, your teens, or even your spouse feel special on their big day!

Make sure you get all the way to the bottom of this post — we have a really creative away for you to pay it forward and for you to give back to others each and every birthday! Such a wonderful lesson for your kids. Plus, it comes with a free printable!

One way we have kept birthdays family focused is by having a birthday celebration with friends, every other year. Then every year, we also have a family celebration. Tea for Two Tea-rrific Tea Party Ideas

Have you ever dreamed of going to a high tea in London? It’s such a treat to imagine spending an afternoon in a fashionable outfit with all the tea party food (and tea, of course) that you could want! I’m sure that most of you have memories of tea parties you put on as a child. The great thing about a tea party is that it never goes out of style!

This is your sign to relive your childhood tea parties, with a grown-up twist. If your little ones want to get involved and have a tea party of their own, save these ideas for their next playdate or birthday party! These ideas for tea and tea party food inspiration are amazing for any tea-riffic tea party. Pinkies up!

What is a tea party?

A tea party is a festive, tea-centric gathering. While it can take place anytime, it is often in the afternoon and includes tea party food, namely mini cakes, bite-sized sandwiches, and other light refreshments.

Tea parties are especially lovely in the spring and summer, and even better if they take place in a sunny outdoor area. An outdoor party idea is great for distancing but still coming together in celebration.

Of course, you can’t forget the tea!

What teas are best for a tea party?

If the day is hot, it may be best to opt for an iced tea. To become the ultimate host, let your guests select from a complete list of teas, including…

  • Earl Grey Tea
  • Herbal Tea
  • Green Tea
  • Lavender Tea
  • Rose Tea
  • Chamomile Tea
  • Mint Tea

While many herbal teas are naturally decaffeinated, make sure to include a completely decaf option for those who are sensitive to caffeine. Looking to go the extra mile and include all the fixings? Serve up your tea with your guests’ choice of lemon, a sugar cube, milk, honey, or edible flower infused ice cubes!

Which foods should you serve at a tea party?

Your traditional bites include finger sandwiches, mini cakes or pastries, and light refreshments. A tea party spread is typically meant to be a light meal rather than a gigantic, opulent spread, so there’s no need to go crazy! Quality over quantity is the best way to go for your tea party menu.

Typical tea party food includes…

  • Finger sandwiches
  • Mini cupcakes
  • Macaroons
  • Fruit salads
  • Biscuits, scones or tea cookies
  • Tarts
  • Sponge cakes

You’ll be ready to host a tea party fit for a queen with these ideas for tea! These Tea for Two Tea-rrific Tea Party Ideas will prepare you to host a fabulous garden party with your friends. Enjoy!

Tea Party Games

Before you sent out the first invite, begin thinking about what you will do to make your guests have fun. While finger foods and sipping a tasty beverage are always nice, how will you guests be entertained?

White Party Ideas

While we made an adorable Winter ONEderland Party (for a one year old), I get a lot of visitors for White Theme Party Ideas. Because of this, I wanted to take some of our Winter Wonderland Ideas and incorporate it into an adult white party, for those of you that are looking!

What is a white themed party?

Do not get confused, a white party is not to exclude any race. In fact, it’s pretty opposite. It is to celebrate all! The White Party Theme is pretty self-explanatory. It is a party where the color white is the theme. From the food to the party decor, the clothing, the tablescape, and more, everything is attached to the color white. White parties are great for bachelorette parties, baby showers,  New Year’s Eve celebrations, summer parties, or really any occasion.

White parties are best in the evening from sunset to late at night. The white is perfect for lighting techniques like black lights, candles, or even fairy lights. The biggest struggle is likely with the food. Trying to find white food can be especially challenging.  Pinterest is always a great place to find white food but we also included some White Party Food ideas below.

Before your party begins, don’t forget to download your White Party Music Club List!

Enjoy the party!… we mean the White Themed Party!

White Party Decor

What do you serve at a White Party?

The easiest way to have white food is to have a white candy buffet. It requires no baking but really brings your color pallet forward. I love Oh Nuts which allows you to shop by color. I recommend some these Anchor Hocking Heritage Hill Jars, also hit up the Dollar Store for cheaper options. Candy Warehouse also has a whole White Party Candy Buffet kit (glass not included). Don’t forget the white rock candy!

Toy Story Party Printable – Buzz Lightyear Float

grape soda floats

Anyone ready for Toy Story 4? It’s hard to believe the original Toy Story was released in November 1995. I was in 8th grade and I seriously would have thought it was a movie that was released closer to the ages of my kids! I think the fact that it still holds love by so many, just goes to show it’s a classic that will be around for a long time.

Last Halloween, our family was the cast of Toy Story. It all started out with the Woody and Buzz Lightyear pajamas that I got the twins. Then we all created a costume around the twins first Halloween.

Toy Story Costume

I love doing themed things when it comes to the twins and the best friends of Woody and Buzz, fit perfectly. In order to dream about a future celebration for our Woody and Buzz, we created some Toy Story printables for your next party Toy Story Party including the straw toppers and sherbet grape punch recipe.
