Take a look at this Pumpkin Carving Tip. Did you know you can extend the life of your pumpkin with a few simple steps?

Jack-o’Lantern Preservation Steps:

Hallow out your pumpkin making sure to remove as much of the stringy fibers and sizes on the inside as possible. A spoon helps well with this.
Rinse your pumpkin out with water
Carve your pumpkin
In a 5 gallon bucket, mix 1 gallon part water to 3 teaspoons bleach. I recommend 3 gal to 1 tsp.’
Dip your jack-o’-lantern in the solution for a full 2 to 3 minutes – your pumpkin will float, so be sure to dip it additionally with your hands to get it covered in solution.
Dry off your pumpkin as much as possible to prevent rot.

This is great if you want to carve a pumpkin early.

Crock-Pot Baked Potatoes Recipe

Check out this easy slow cooker recipe for making the perfect tender side for your dinner entree’.

Ingredients:

6 large Baking Potatoes
1 1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
Kosher or Sea Salt to taste
Fresh Ground Pepper to taste

Directions:

Scrub and dry potatoes.
Pierce each potato 6-8 times with a fork.
Rub each potato with about a teaspoon of olive oil.
Season with salt and pepper and wrap in aluminum foil.
Place in slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.

Fall Pumpkin Smoothie

Enjoy this healthy smoothie recipe incorporating the benefits of Juice Plus+ Protein Powder. Also consider the Healty Harvest Pumpkin Pie Smoothie and Fall Apple Cinnamon Smoothie.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cup Pumpkin Puree
1/4 cup Pecans
1 large frozen Banana
1 cup Almond Milk
1 tbsp Agave
1 scoop Juice Plus+ Complete French Vanilla Powder (or try this Vanilla Ice Cream Protein Powder on Amazon.)
1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
ice as needed

Directions:

Place pecans in blender and run util they are ground up. Add remaining ingredients in blender and blend until mixture is smooth. You can optionally top with coconut flake, pecans and pumpkin spice.

Healthy Tips: This recipe is for a serving. Multiply as needed! These are all done easily in the blender. Almond milk can be replaced with any kind of milk, including soy, coconut or rice milk.
