Have a strong mom? Encourage her with these short mom quotes. This adorable mom quote printable is perfect for a mother’s birthday, Mother’s day or just because.

Encouraging Mom Quote

Being a mom isn’t for the weak. It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. A strong mom is one who can handle anything that comes her way, even when things get tough.

It’s no secret moms were created with some type of super human strength – both physically, emotionally and mentally. While I (a mom of five) don’t have the strength to lift a car, I can birth humans (in my case – accidently unmedicated, barely on a table.) While, I love good sleep I have an ability to make it day after day with interrupted nights.

The strength of a mother is powerful and sometimes events are placed our lives that require us to be physically and emotionally present and all of a sudden we are presented with super hero strength we did not realize we were able to muster. As Barbara Kingsolver once said, “sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws.”

Children come into our lives in so many ways, you don’t have to have given birth to be a mother. No matter what your mom situation is, the fact of the matter is that if someone depends on you, you’re a momma.

Celebrate Mom with Strong Mom Quotes

Whether it’s Mother’s Day, mom’s birthday or mom is just overdue for some extra love, these strong mom quotes are a great way to remind the woman who raised you how much she means to you.

“A mother’s love is something that no one can explain, it’s something that you have to feel. It’s the passion of a thousand suns burning inside of you.” – Unknown

“The best place to cry is on a mother’s arms.” – Jodi Picoult

“We have a secret in our culture, and it’s not that birth is painful. It’s that women are strong.” – Laura Stavoe Harm.

“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” – Rajneesh

“Motherhood is a choice you make every day to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach someone else that life isn’t always about what you want.” – Mandy Hale

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when misfortune takes the place of happiness; when we are deserted by the world, and our friends in whom we trusted, have proved unworthy of our confidence. A mother’s love is then most needed, and most tender.” – Washington Irving

“A mother understands what a child does not say.” – Jewish Proverb

“Motherhood is a choice you make every day, to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own. To teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing, even when you’re not sure what the right thing is to forgive yourself over and over again for doing everything wrong.” – Donna Ball

“One of the greatest titles in the world is parent, and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to be one.” – Jim Gaffigan

“A mom’s hug lasts long after she lets go.” – Unknown

“A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.” – Unknown

“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” – Abraham Lincoln

“The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will find forgiveness.” – Honore de Balzac

“It is not until you become a mother that your judgment slowly turns to compassion and understanding.” – Erma Bombeck.

Strong Mother Quotes

As someone who has walked the walk of being a single mom, I wanted to share a few verses of encouragement. That circumstances in that season of time was one of my hardest. If you find yourself in times of stress, be encouraged by some of these strong single mother quotes.

“There is no way to be the perfect mother but a million ways to be a good one.” – Jill Churchill.

“Successful mothers are not the ones that have never struggled. They are the ones that never give up, despite the struggles.” – Sharon Jaynes.

“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” – Maya Angelou.

“Any mother could do the jobs of several air traffic controllers with ease.” – Lisa Alther

“Not only am I a fighter, but I’m a survivor. I think being a mother really plays into that.” – Willow Cross

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” -Washington Irving

Hey Google, Call Mom

Being a mom doesn’t mean you’re perfect, it means you do your best. You feel more deeply, you love harder. You’re strong when you don’t want to be and show that it’s okay to be vulnerable.

Celebrate your mom with a simple phone call, text, or visit to remind her that she is loved. And if you don’t live near your mom, take a few minutes to tell her how much you appreciate all she’s done for you.

No matter what, a strong mom is always there for her children. So thank your mom for everything she’s done for you and let her know how much you love her with encouraging mom quotes.

Stay Strong, Mom!

There is no perfect mother. In fact a good mother knows her imperfections. In fact, to quote Arianna Huffington “The fastest way to break the cycle of perfectionism and become a fearless mother is to give up the idea of doing it perfectly – indeed to embrace uncertainty and imperfection.”

If you are here today because you are also an exhausted mom, I get it. As a mom of five, I am also asked which number kid is the hardest. Honestly, each kid is unique and comes with their own joys and challenges. However, for me the answer to this question is always the same “the first is the hardest.”

If you are here, you are a mom. In that case, you at least have one. Hugs mama, it’s hard but you are strong. Remember, even in the day to day challenge, you are in this place, the present. And the present is the gift of your child(ren) even on days where you might not feel it.

XO Mom – Stay Strong!

Spring Activities Bucket List Printable

Spring is a time of new beginnings and exciting changes. One way to celebrate the season is by making a bucket list for spring. To help get your family moving and to help them break out of their (egg)shell, I’ve put together an exciting Spring Activities Bucket List printable to share with you.

What is a Bucket List?

A bucket list can be anything from things you want to do, places you want to go or people you want to see this time of year. For many people, a bucket list is a list of activities they would like to accomplish as a family. For others, a bucket list can include things to do before you die.

A bucket list can be short, like for a period of time like a season . Your list can be seasonal like a Christmas bucket list, or be made up of all the things that are unique to the months of March, April, and May. It can also be long like fun things you would like to accomplish in a lifetime.

The list can focus on indoor activities, things to do on vacation, or even over a school break Share these activities with others or make them solo.  There’s really no limit to what you can put on your personalized bucket list or family bucket list.

A new season. A new tradition.

St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt Clues

You’re doing a great job on this treasure hunt, continue the fun when you look out front. (Lawn or front porch.)

Instructions

Once printed, cut out the clues and hide them around the house so they match the list given. The idea behind the scavenger hunt is that a leprechaun has hidden treasure that your kids need to find.

You’ll want to put together a themed prize for the final clue location. This could be anything from a pot of gold coins to a special treat like some yummy candy or an Irish-themed toy.

Once everything is ready, gather the kids and explain the rules. Save the first card. Then, it’s time to get busy hunting!

The best part about this scavenger hunt is that it can be tailored to any age group, even adults! Just make sure to adjust the treats and small prizes at the end of the rainbow accordingly. Mini bottles of alcohol, chocolates, a rainbow charcuterie board and green beer would be a great adult prize for a St. Patrick’s Day treasure hunt!

Now that you’re all ready to go, download the clues and get started on this festive and fun family activity. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

For a fun Easter activity for the kids, download this Resurrection Eggs printable with Bible verses about Christ’s resurrection. These Easter scripture cards tell the Easter story. Pair with one dozen plastic Easter eggs for a cute Christian Easter craft.

As our family traditions begin to take shape, I have tried to be very intention about not getting lost in the commercial of the season. Easter has turned into bunnies, chicks and baskets of Candy. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the “reason for the season” hence the purpose for this printable resurrection eggs story.

Resurrection Eggs Story Cards Printable

What are resurrection eggs?

Resurrection eggs connect Easter eggs with the true meaning of the season. One dozen plastic eggs can quickly tell the Easter story through scripture verses found in the Gospels. Each egg is opened revealing a new Bible verse card and image.

There are a few ideas for how to use resurrection eggs. These can be uses for Christian teaching, telling the Easter story to your family, or even for an Easter egg hunt at home.

How to make DIY resurrection eggs at home

While there are places where you can find resurrection eggs, make your own homemade resurrection eggs instead using supplies you have around the house.

What goes in resurrection eggs?

What goes in resurrection eggs?

In our resurrection eggs booklet PDF we give you all you need for your kit. This includes resurrection eggs printable bible verses and photos. The only resurrection eggs materials you need to provide are 12 plastic Easter eggs and an egg carton.

Supplies

  • 12 Plastic Eggs
  • An Egg Carton
  • Permanent Marker – to number to eggs

Optional Supplies

However, there are a few supplies you can add to your resurrection eggs kit to “jazz it up!”

What to put inside resurrection eggs

  • Leaf – outdoor or bay leaf to represent a palm branch at Jesus’ triumphal entry
  • Coins – 3 silver coins to represent Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver
  • Cracker – to represent the bread at the Last Supper
  • Scroll – a tiny piece of paper rolled into a scroll to represent Jesus’ prayer in the garden
  • Whip – a piece of leather or thick fabric to represent the soldier’s whipping Jesus
  • Crown – a tiny crown made from grass or a flower stem to represent the crown of thorns
  • Nails – 2 nails glues in a cross to represent the nails and the cross
  • Dice – a die to represent the soldier’s casting lots for Jesus’ clothes
  • Toothpick – a toothpick with one end broken off to represent the spear piercing Jesus’ side
  • Cloth – a scrap of cheesecloth or fabric (to represent Joseph wrapping Jesus in linen cloth)
  • Stone – a rock to represent the stone rolled in front of the tomb

These optional materials can be placed inside your plastic eggs with the accompanying scripture card. The 12th egg will remain empty for the empty tomb.

Resurrection Eggs Bible Verses

Since you are doing the Easter story with kids, we placed the resurrection eggs scriptures in ERV version. This is the Easy-to-Read bible version.

Resurrection Eggs Bible Verses

Matthew 21:9 – Some of the people were walking ahead of Jesus. Others were walking behind him. They all shouted, “Praise to the Son of David! ‘Welcome! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Praise to God in heaven!”

Use a leaf with this bible verse to represent the palms waved when Jesus was on the donkey and the crowd shouted “Hosanna!”

Matthew 26:14-15 – Then one of the twelve followers went to talk to the leading priests. This was the follower named Judas Iscariot. He said, “I will hand Jesus over to you. What will you pay me for doing this?” The priests gave him 30 silver coins.

Add silver coins to this egg.

Matthew 26:26-28 – While they were eating, Jesus took some bread and thanked God for it. He broke off some pieces, gave them to his followers and said, “Take this bread and eat it. It is my body.” Then he took a cup of wine, thanked God for it, and gave it to them. He said, “Each one of you drink some of it. 28 This wine is my blood, which will be poured out to forgive the sins of many and begin the new agreement from God to his people.

Use a cracker to represent the body of Jesus and bread broken at the last supper.

Matthew 26:39 – Then Jesus went on a little farther away from them. He fell to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, don’t make me drink from this cup. But do what you want, not what I want.”

Roll paper into a scroll to represent the prayer in the garden of Gethsemane.

Mark 15:15 – Pilate wanted to please the people, so he set Barabbas free for them. And he told the soldiers to beat Jesus with whips. Then he handed him over to the soldiers to be killed on a cross.

Add cut leather to represent a whip.

Matthew 27:29 – Then they made a crown from thorny branches and put it on his head, and they put a stick in his right hand. Then they bowed before him, making fun of him. They said, “We salute you, king of the Jews!”

Twist a flower steam or vine into a small crown.

Matthew 27:31 – After they finished making fun of him, the soldiers took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be killed on a cross.

Make your own cross using hot glue. Place two nails into a cross shape and place in the egg.

John 19:23-24 – After the soldiers nailed Jesus to the cross, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts. Each soldier got one part. They also took his tunic. It was all one piece of cloth woven from top to bottom. So the soldiers said to each other, “We should not tear this into parts. Let’s throw lots to see who will get it.” This happened to make clear the full meaning of what the Scriptures say: “They divided my clothes among them, and they threw lots for what I was wearing.” So the soldiers did this.

Dice in the egg will represent the lot that was divided.

John 19:33-34 – But when the soldiers came close to Jesus, they saw that he was already dead. So they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers stuck his spear into Jesus’ side. Immediately blood and water came out.

A broken toothpick in the egg can represent the spear that pieced Jesus.

Matthew 27:59-60 – Then Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a new linen cloth. He put Jesus’ body in a new tomb that he had dug in a wall of rock. Then he closed the tomb by rolling a very large stone to cover the entrance. After he did this, he went away.

Clean linen cloth or fabric can represent the burial cloth that covered Jesus’ body.

Matthew 27:65-66 – Pilate said, “Take some soldiers and go guard the tomb the best way you know.” So they all went to the tomb and made it safe from thieves. They did this by sealing the stone in the entrance and putting soldiers there to guard it.

Use a small rock or pebble to represent the stone covering the tomb.

Matthew 28:5-6 “The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus, the one who was killed on the cross. But he is not here. He has risen from death, as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was.”

This plastic egg will remain empty to represent the empty tomb.

List of Fun Adult Birthday Party Games

Playing games at your next birthday party is a great way for your friends to get to know each other and share a laugh.  There are several group games you can play that will entertain your guests (and guest of honor) and get the party going.

To help make your night one to remember, I’ve pulled together some of my favorite birthday party games for adults.

Best of all, these games are super-easy to plan and you probably already have the supplies on hand.  So grab some friends and get ready to enjoy a night full of laughs!

Adult Birthday Party Games

These are some of the best adult birthday party games:

I’m Going To A Bar

This memory game is fun to play after the drinks have been flowing for a while. Guests will go around the circle naming what items they would bring to the bar in alphabetical order. Start with the birthday person. Then each person builds onto the list, but if you forget an item, you’re out. The last person left is the winner!

Junk in the Trunk

In this classic Minute to Win it Game, get ready to shake it to win! This hilarious game will have your guests working hard to jiggle all of the ping pong balls out of the container attached to their waist the fastest. Imagine the moves that will go down in history with this game!

Straight Face

This game of skill is a challenge to see who can read the silliest sentences without cracking a grin. Each player writes a crazy sentence on a slip of paper and adds it to the basket. Players then take turns reading a sentence aloud while trying to not laugh or smile. Anyone who laughs, snickers, or grins is out. You can also up the punishment by making offenders take a shot!

Charades

You can’t go wrong with a fun game of Charades (or Pictionary.) To get things started, use the cards included in the packet for the game. You can also give each of your guests a few minutes to come up with some funny suggestions with blank cards to personalize the game to your friend group. This game is all about creativity and using your imagination, so the more outrageous the charade, the better!

Bite the Bag

Sorta like limbo but not. This is a hilariously funny game that gets worse as the night goes on. Place a brown paper bag on the floor. A player must reach down and pick it up with their mouth. The only thing that is allowed to touch the floor is your feet (no hands, no knees) and the only thing that is allowed to touch the bag is your mouth. After every round, cut off an inch from the top of the bag and play again. This game is like limbo in reverse. How low can you go?

Two Truths and a Lie

This is a great icebreaker game or getting-to-know-you game for early in the night. Pick 3 statements to tell about yourself. Example: “I have two siblings, I’ve been to three continents, and I love cats.” Two should be true; one should be a lie. Everyone else must guess which is the lie. If you’re playing with family or friends, pick obscure details to try to trick each other to make it even more fun.

Scavenger Hunt

If you have some time, do something unusual like a one-hour scavenger hunt. Instead of doing this at home, go around town. Team members will try to find some of the strangest things like a Refrigerator box, coin from 1983, town clock, egg carton, deposit slip, take-out menu, or even a photo of the entire team in a shopping cart.

To help your friends meet new friends, pair up your groups with friends that might not know each other well yet. From the start line to the finish line, the around-town scavenger hunt team bonding will quickly create new friendships and are great ice breakers to the start of the night. Wait until you hear all the stories up on the return of the birthday hunt.

Adult Party Games instructions

The adult games for a birthday party printable includes 10 more ideas for a total of 17 small and large group games.

In addition to the list of party games already mentioned, 10 more games for an adult party include…

  1. Mrs. or Mr. Freeze
