One of my favorite dishes when I eat out is Olive Garden’s Capellini Pomodoro. But, it can get pricey at around $10 a plate, and I knew I could make the same thing at home for MUCH less, so I found a fantastic copycat recipe that I am going to try out for dinner this week!

If you have some dishes at Olive Garden that you always crave, you can make the same thing at home at a lower cost, too! Check out our list of 25 Copycat Olive Garden Recipes and see if your favorite is there!

Parmesan Crisps

I seriously love a salad but the side of something crunchy, salty and irresistible makes it even better! You will love these Parmesan Cheese Crisps. A few suggestions I have are use good quality cheese and a splat mat to prevent sticking and burning.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces good quality Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Finely grate the cheese into a bowl.
  3. Line a large baking sheet with a non-stick pad or Parchment paper.
  4. Add a heaping teaspoon of cheese to the pan until you have six mounds, evenly spread apart.
  5. Lightly press the mounds out until they are flat. Push in any stray pieces that stick out.
  6. Bake for 5-6 minutes or until the egdes are golden brown but not all the way to the center. They will look wet, and that’s ok. If you bake them until entirely brown, they will be bitter.
  7. Remove from oven. They will begin to firm up almost immediately.
  8. Carefully remove with a metal spatula and place on paper towels. Place another paper towel on top and gently press down to absorb the grease.
  9. If you’d like to mold them, be sure to do it before they harden, which happens quickly. You can free hand it, or use a large wooden spoon handle to roll them up.
  10. Once they are completely cooled and crisp, you can store them in an airtight container between layers of wax paper for up to three days. Keep them in the refrigerator.

Makes 25-30 crisps

I like to drag my Silpat (or parchment) off of the pan to speed the cooling process up and get another batch in, but it’s up to you if you want to encourage your readers to do that. The recipe works the either way, but that just makes it go quicker.

Copycat Sonic Ocean Water

We simply love this Sonic Ocean Water – it’s perfect for summer, by the pool or a sweet treat for the kids. If you are into Dr Suess, we find this makes a yummy Dr Seuss Party Idea that goes perfect with the “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” theme.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Water
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Coconut Extract
  • 4 drop Blue Food Coloring
  • 24 oz Sprite
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Combine water and sugar in microwavable bowl.
  2. Microwave for 45 seconds and stir to create a simple syrup.
  3. Allow to cool, then add food coloring and coconut extract.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add syrup to cold Sprite and serve over ice.

I suggest adding Swedish Fish but place them to the side or serve in the beverage at the last minute – these gummies are no fun when they are cold and wet.

Blackberry Honey Butter

Absolutely yummy, great over warm bread in the morning. This Homemade Blackberry Honey Butter is easy to make and store for later use.

Ingredients:

  •  1/2 lb softened Butter
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Blackberries

Directions:

  1. Whip butter and honey until fluffy.
  2. Add blackberries and mix just until berries break up and are distributed.
  3. Either scoop into jar and seal or form into a log and refrigerate.

I like to freeze butter. When I need some for a breakfast spread, I slice off as much as I need with a sharpe knife and keep the rest in a log form in the freezer. Becauuse of the berries, this is not a butter I would keep out on the counter top.
