What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Have you heard of Ebates? What is Ebates? How does Ebates work? Chances are you have heard of Ebates and perhaps still have no clue as to what Ebates could do for you. In a world full of rewards and loyalty points, perhaps the name Ebates is just another name in crowd that you have your doubts about.

Enough with the head scratching and doubting as I can vouch, Ebates is one that has been around for years. I have been a part of Ebates since 2006, and have no complaints! I have to admit I do frequently forget about Ebates, and that is my foolish mistake. As an Ebate member I have earned $96 in cash! “Yea,” but at what cost- is that what you are thinking? It has cost me nothing- infact I have lost money not using Ebates!

In a Savvy tech society world full of apps, tablets, and smartphones featuring loyalty programs and cash back savings to consumer you have Ebates that has been saving consumers since 1996 . Never has Ebates charged any fee, as they prefer to give to their users instead of take.

So What Is Ebates?

Ebates is a program that shares its earning from online retailers with users who use Ebates for their everyday online purchases. Simply stated Ebates is an affiliate to over 1700 stores, like Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Kohl’s, and Etc. By clicking through Ebates links to the store you so wish to shop at, Ebates offers you a percentage of the revenue they earn from by being an affiliate. I

Retail stores offers companies, or individuals like blogger’s a commission by driving sales to their site. Just about anyone can become an affiliate to these stores with affiliate marketing.

Ebates company is founded on the idea of sharing that commission from affiliate marketing with their consumers – this is rare philosophy but a proven one as most ALL other affiliates keeps that revenue to themselves.

Still Confused?

Understand, that most all online sites are always generating income in a variety of ways, Ads for advertisements, paid endorsements, or affiliate revenues are the most common that you will find on just about any site or even email. It that is news to you then that may sound shady, but I assure you this is in no way new news. However, it is HIGHLY unusual for money being earned by your everyday purchase to be shared. I have seen other companies try the same and all though some succeed all most no one has made this process as seamless as Ebates. To sum its as if the online retailer is paying Ebates to advertise and Ebates sharing that money with you!

Wait!?

Ok so it gets better! Ebates also offer coupon codes too stack with your cash back you know like other sites like RetailMeNot or Coupon Mountain. So not only can you check out at your favorite retailer like Amazon or Target for example but also search for coupon code and apply them at check out.

Plus, as I have always experienced you can also earn Cash for referring your friend. This in it self can be quite rewarding. As you will earn $5 for each person you refer that uses and check out with Ebates affiliate links. With social media this makes sharing and earning so much easier than when I started using Ebates- I did not have a Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr account.

How Do I Get My Money?

It’s simple four times a year or more Ebates mails you what they refer too as a Big Fat Check, or transfer the money to your PayPal account if you’d prefer. Now they can even send money to your favorite charity. All 100% free- YAY! Take a look at the very few times I have used Ebates I have saved a near $100! Yes that is wonderful but that should be so much more – as I forgotten this service many times when checking out. Many of my friends have earned hundreds even thousands! So yes I am proud of my near $100 but disappointed that I have failed to checkout through Ebates.

Now, note this may not always work but it has for me. I will find myself checking out ‘Let’s Say Kohl’s’ and near I am near complete when I see a spot for a promo code, and I find myself looking for a current coupon code to apply. Then it hits me oh Ebates has the NEWEST coupons codes and may offer cash back for this store.. and they do 6% cash-back – SCORE! Percentage changes frequently per store so always check.

To grab that 6% cash-back I sign into my Ebates and type Kohl’s into the Ebates Store Search and click Kohl’s Coupons & Cash Back. So From there Ebates redirects me to Kohl’s and more times than not my items remained in my cart and now, because I clicked over from the Ebates link I get 6% cash back after I check out as part of my next Big Fat Check.
