Creamy Chicken and Broccoli Pasta Skillet Recipe

Tonight’s recipe is an easy and healthy meal that’s perfect for make ahead meals. Similar to the bags of frozen Birds Eye Voila Skillet Meals, where you just heat and serve. Only you control the ingredients and keep the preservatives out. Change up the cheese, meat, seasonings and pasta for lots of different flavor combinations.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 ½ cups Monterey jack shredded cheese
  • 1 lb. chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 1 ½ cups uncooked bowtie pasta

Chop chicken into small bite sized pieces. In a saucepan over medium, heat 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil, add garlic and chicken, saute until cooked through. Set aside to cool.

Freezer Prep:

To prep for freezing, place; broccoli, chicken broth, milk, salt, pepper, and shredded cheese in a freezer safe gallon bag.

Cooking Directions:

Pour contents of gallon bag into sauce pan on low heat with 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil, cook until combined, Boil pasta for 8-12 minutes in 2 quarts of water. Toss pasta with chicken mixture. Serve.

Valentine’s Day Essential Oils Special

Have you been looking into essential oils but don’t know where to start or which brand to try? I am part of the amazing family of Young Living Essential Oils (read and order here). Essential oils are a fabulous natural substitute for many household chemical laden cleaners, medicines, and even beauty products. Having looked into several companies I was convinced that Young Living was the way to go and use them on myself and both of my girls daily.

YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL OILS HERE

I have a special deal just for Frugal Coupon Living readers this month through February 28th!

If you get a premium Young Living starter kit (read and order here) which is, on its own, a really great deal at $150!…

essential-oils-freebies

…then I will also mail you a super helpful Essential Oils Reference Book (you can look up almost anything in it and see which oils have been used to help with that problem), a set of essential oil labels to keep your oils organized, AND a $10 Amazon Gift Card!

You will receive 10 bottles, one 5ml each of these everyday oils; Peppermint, Lavender, Lemon, Frankincense, Melaleuca A, Stress Away, Thieves, PanAway, Purification, and Joy. Also get Product Guides about your essential oils, Samples and our NEWEST Dewdrop Diffuser. This month comes with a Citrus Fress Oil too!

valentines-day-special-2015-edited

Wanting to give it a try, sign up for the PREMIUM Starter Kit and FREEBIES for $150 ($300.00 Value) In addition you get ALL of this for FREE!

:: FREE Essential Oils Reference Book (Look up almost anything to find out which oils to use!)
:: FREE Oil Labels to keep everything organized
:: FREE $10 Amazon Gift Card!!!

READ MORE ABOUT THE PREMIUM STARTER KIT

This is a huge savings over buying them individually, not to mention its a better value than some of the other oil distributors out there – especially wiht all those FREEIBES!

Here’s how to sign up:

1. Head over to the Young Living page here and fill out your information.

wholesale-member-option-Essential-OIls

2. Be sure the “Wholesale Member” option is checked so that you don’t end up paying retail prices.

3. Be sure the “sponsor ID” and “enroller id” say 1819360 (so that I can send you your FREEBIES)

4. If you do not feel comfortable putting in your social security number (this is only for tax purposes if you decide to turn this into a business) then you can get an EIN from the IRS in just a few seconds here and use that number instead (the IRS just needs to be able to connect some number with you for tax purposes). They need a Social Security Number or an EIN because if you make $600 or more per year selling Young Living products, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail (which is required by law). Young Living will never share this info with anyone.

5. Select which starter kit you want to get. To get the FREEBIES, you’ll need to check the option that says “Premium Starter Kit”. You can get the kit that’s $150 or you can get the kit that’s $160 with the Bamboo Diffuser (in my opinion, the Bamboo Diffuser looks nicer, but doesn’t put out as much as the diffuser that comes with the $150 kit).

6. There’s a Step 3 of the sign-up process that you can skip if you don’t want to mess with that part, OR you can get a couple of extra free oils if you know already that you would like to order monthly (see BONUS step below!)

7. Go through the checkout process.

8. After you sign up, send an email to frugalcouponliving@gmail.com letting me know that you signed up through this promotion. Somewhere in the email, be sure to put the promotion code “VALENTINEOILDEAL”.

I Believe in Plan A!

wedding-1

I Believe in Plan A.

You might have heard (through Instagram or Facebook) the wedding bells ringing a few weeks ago, and I’m writing to tell you that, Yes, I got married to that amazing man I shared with you previously!

If you’ve stayed with me over the last 7 years, you may think that my marriage to Wes doesn’t look like someone’s typical Plan A. In Who is Ashley, I shared with you about my history – my background as a divorced, single mom raising two little girls. Well, I feel like it’s time to give everyone the latest update and connect some of the dots that may have been lost along the way. Initially, when MY first marriage (MY Plan A) didn’t work out, it wasn’t something I wanted to make public. It was a tough time, and I thought it best to keep to myself and move on to Plan B. Eventually though, my heart began to change, and as time passed, I felt that sharing my story was important for a lot of reasons.

Through that change of heart, I began to reconsider my perspective of moving on to MY Plan B, and as I took direction from God’s Word, I grew to believe and understand something completely different. The more I thought and prayed about it, the more I began to understand that God doesn’t have a Plan B, his Plan is always Plan A, and it always focuses on us growing more mature in our relationship with Him. Sometimes that growth requires a heavy pruning, and I believe that I felt that over the past 4+ years, and as hard as it has been at times, I look back and am so grateful to the place God has brought me. I don’t always feel that I deserve this amazing gift God has given – an amazing husband and leader – but I believe my girls do. In the amazing recognition of how God has protected and watched over the girls, I realize our Father does the same for myself. I am grateful for the man He chose for us, one that far exceeds the highest of expectations I had.

wedding-2

As this orginal plan rolls on, I am looking forward to 2015. I see glimpses of God’s Plan A before me, and I believe it’s going to be amazing.

Truth is, there’s always a Plan A. It just may not be the road we’ve envisioned…. Grab the reigns, and enjoy the ride.
