Turkey-Thanksgiving-Krispie-Treats-Frugal-Coupon-Living

There are always tons of crafts and recipes to make around the holidays, but this Thanksgiving Rice Krispie Treats recipe is so fun to put together and the ingredients are super simple. This Rice Krispie Turkey is also budget friendly, which I love! Making a craft that is also edible is a win-win in my book. The kids will literally gobble it right up!

Tips for Making Thanksgiving Turkey Rice Krispy Treats

It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing color, the air is getting crisper, and families are gathering to give thanks. And what would Thanksgiving be without a turkey-shaped treat? This year, why not try something new and make your own Thanksgiving Rice Krispy Treats? Here are a few tips for making them.

  1. Choose your shape. Whether you want to go for traditional rice Krispy treats or you just want to do a circle, this is the time to create your favorite shape.
  2. Make the dough. Start by melting marshmallows and butter in a pot over low heat. Once the mixture is melted, add in rice cereal until evenly mixed.
  3. Scoop and shaping. Use a spoon or cookie cutter to scoop out dough and shape into your desired turkey shape.
  4. Decorate! Have fun decorating your turkey with frosting, candy eyes, and whatever else you can think of!

Enjoy! Let your creativity shine through and have fun making these delicious Thanksgiving treats!

Is there a difference between marshmallow cream and marshmallow fluff?

Marshmallow cream is a thick, spreadable mixture made from marshmallows, corn syrup, and gelatin. Marshmallow fluff is similar but does not contain gelatin and has a lighter texture. Both can be used as substitutes for marshmallows in Rice Krispie Treats, but may result in slightly different textures and flavors.

Who loves playing holiday games? These free printable Thanksgiving Charades are the best way to have some family time. Just print the Thanksgiving Chardes game, and let the fun begin! When it comes to fun Thanksgiving games, you’re going to want to add these free printable charades to your list!

free thanksgiving charades cards printable

It’s safe to say that holiday games and activities are a must for the winter break and are a great way to have everyone in the family join in on the family game night fun.

The fun part about playing charades is that it’s different each time you play it. Each person will act out the cards and words in their own special way, making it unique and hilarious each and every time.

Being able to print out these Thanksgiving charade ideas and have everyone in the family join in and play sounds like the perfect holiday party! Just be ready – there might be a little bit of friendly competition happening in the house!

If you’re looking for fun Thanksgiving activities, charades need to be on your radar! These Thanksgiving charades for kids are great for all ages to join in on the excitement!

How do you play Thanksgiving charades?

All you need is this Thanksgiving list of words to get started! That doesn’t mean that you can’t add more (and I’ve included blank sheets for you to do just that!) if you want!

Start by splitting up into teams, and then fold up the Thanksgiving words and have the person who will be acting out the clue pick one. If their team members can guess what they’re acting out before the time runs out, their team earns a point!

Take turns with teams, and the team who ends up with the most points wins!

How many people do you need to play charades?

how to play charades with thanksgiving charades cards

For this inclusive game, you can literally play this group game with 2-20 people! (or more!) You really just need someone to be able to act out the clues and someone to guess them. But I can promise that the more people you have, the crazier the game gets!

The object of the game is to act out a word or use words to describe the word. Just be careful you don’t use the word. You can use props, hand gestures or even a drawing board. The first team will choose a player to do the motions. The actor will stand in front of the room, while the rest of the team guesses the word. You can set a timer or create a time limit to keep the game moving along. Keep track of the amount of points and at the end you can declare a winner.

You can also just play this charades game for fun. You don’t even have to keep points or pick and “winner” if you don’t want to. See how many you can get in a specific amount of time – and have fun doing so.

Some other gift ideas include a boxed cake mix with frosting, some fall-scented hand soap, a coffee mug, a can of pumpkin (include your favorite recipe for it), or a coloring book and crayons. Novelty Thanksgiving toys, candy, and a Thanksgiving card are also nice additions to your basket. Thanksgiving Potluck Recipes

Potlucks can be a lot of fun, particularly during the holiday season. You’re only responsible for making one dish, but you get to enjoy many dishes! And this puts less stress on the hostess—after all, putting a Thanksgiving dinner together for a large group can be intimidating!

What should I bring to a Thanksgiving Potluck?

The best thing about a fall potluck is you immediately have a theme – Thanksgiving. That makes what to bring to a  Thanksgiving potluck rather limited. Thanksgiving pot luck ideas typically include the main dishes, vegetable side dishes and a savory dessert. It’s important when planning a Thanksgiving Potluck to come up with a Thanksgiving menu. This can be done where food is already listed and people sign up or you can list the food you plan to make and bring to the party. This will ensure no one brings the same recipe – It would be a bit scary to end up with 22 roast turkey breasts (those poor birds.)

Sign Up Genuis is an excellent tool for planning a Friendsgiving Potluck with family, coworkers and/and friends. You can invite guests, have some Thanksgiving games to bring, and allow them to sign up for something from a list of Thanksgiving Potluck recipe ideas. This can include a list of Thanksgiving dishes or a list of ingredients like whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, apples and more. In this case, everyone would gather and prepare the the Friendsgiving meal ideas together.

outdoor thanksgiving scavenger hunt

To get started, make a list of 10-15 Thanksgiving-themed items that can be found around your house or back yard. This can be a team scavenger hunt race as teams compete the finish the challenge in the allotted limit. Instead ditch the time limit and keep this Thanksgiving scavenger hunt checklist as an individual task where the goal isn’t to race but only to finish.

  • A pumpkin
  • Scarecrow
  • An ear of corn
  • Leaves
  • Acorns
  • A pinecone
  • Turkey
  • Feather

  • Something brown

After you have your list of items, write each item on its own slips of paper (or as a checklist like a bingo card.) If you’re doing this scavenger hunt with younger kids, you may want to provide a picture of the item along with the word.

Once you have all the slips of paper ready, hide them around your house or yard. Make sure to put the first slip of paper in an easy-to-find spot so that kids know where to start looking.

As with the indoor scavenger hunt, explain the rules and then let the kids loose to search for all the Thanksgiving-themed items! This can easily become a neighborhood scavenger hunt as you walk the streets to work up an appetite before the Thanksgiving feast. Just assign the kids an area for where to look. There’s no limit to Thanksgiving scavenger hunt ideas that you can do.
