Fun Carnival Party Games Printable

Carnival games are a great way to add some excitement to any party. Whether you’re throwing a birthday party, a block party, or just a fun get-together, carnival games are always a hit. And the best part is, they’re easy to put together! By putting your own spin on classic carnival games, you can create an unforgettable party that your guests will be talking about for years to come.

Get started planning your carnival party today with these amazing tips.

How do you plan a carnival party?

Planning a carnival themed party is actually a lot of fun, but there are some things you’ll want to consider BEFORE you have the party. The budget is always important. Most people don’t think a carnival party can be affordable. It actually can be with the right planning and prep ahead of time.

When it comes to a circus themed party, plan the venue space, your party decorations, the number of guests, types of carnival booths, and of course your entertainment. Don’t worry, I have plenty of carnival birthday party ideas to share with you soon. Here is how to plan and affordable circus party that is a ton of fun for your birthday guy or gal!

Carnival Party Theme Ideas

Circus Carnival Party Ideas

Before we begin with the party entertainment, let’s chat about the party organization. When planning a circus party, there are a few things you need to get in place before the fun and games.  Make sure you have the right circus party invite, create a list of carnival party food, and choose the best location for a carnival birthday party.

Create Fun Invitations

Welcome to the big top! Your invitations set the tone for your party, so make sure they’re fun and festive! You can find some great carnival-themed invitations online, or you can get creative and make your own.

In this day and age, I especially appreciate an Evite to keep record of who is coming or a digital carnival birthday party invitation.

Choose the Location

If you’re having the party outdoors, you’ll want to make sure you have enough space for all of your games and activities. If you’re having the party indoors, choose a location that has high ceilings so you can hang decorations from the ceiling and have enough room for balls to be thrown and party booths to fit.

Gather Everything You Need

Supplies Include:

  • Carnival games
  • Prizes for the winners of the carnival games

Have the tradition of a fun game for the whole family to play during Christmas break.

What better way to spend time together than to plan a night of fun laughing while you play a game of Christmas Scattergories? It’s a classic game with a ho-ho-holiday twist I know you’ll love!

What is Scattergories?

Scattergories is a game of wits and words. In the game there are categories that players must think of answers to, but the twist is every answer begins with the same letter as your category. For example: Christmas songs that have names that begin with S.

The game can be made more difficult for adults (think songs with three-syllables) or easier for younger players.  Players that are younger will usually think of simple answers like Silent Night and Santa Claus is Coming to Town, but the older players may come up with songs such as Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time and Sleigh Ride.

Scattergories is a fantastic game for people of all ages. The best part? You can play it anywhere. It’s an easy go-to game that can be pulled out during any holiday gathering or on a long car ride. It’s accessible for almost anyone and offers hours of fun!

Playing Scattergories on Christmas

The holidays are one of the best times to play Scattergories. Everyone is already in the spirit, so it will be easy to come up with unique Christmas-themed answers. Some examples of categories are:

  • Things that are red
  • Holiday Christmas movie
  • Foods you eat on holidays
  • Christmas song
  • Words associated with the North Pole
  • Gifts to give friends and family members

There are so many ways to play Scattergories, especially when it comes to themed editions. You could grab a blank set of paper and create some of your own. Roll an alphabet die to come up with the starting letter of the alphabet.

Christmas Scattergories Game Rules & How To Play

Christmas Scattergories PDF

This classic game is much like the original except for a few festive twists. Here are the rules to get your party started:

There are five pages with different Christmas words on them. You can either paly five different rounds or if you’re looking for a quick game, break the pages up into sets and play one at a time.

Hand each guest a copy of the Christmas-themed words to use in the game. Using a a timer, set a time limit for game play. Players will think of words that fit the description on the left and also match the letter of the alphabet at the top of the column.

Once the time is up, the fun begins when each player shares their words for each topic. If an answer is voted not to be a good answer, they lose that point. The player with the most blanks filled with accepted answers wins the round!
