We are in the middle of a move. T minus 4 days – you guys pray for me.
Our area has been hit by Coronavirus. Schools are beginning to close. It’s exponentially growing. I went to the grocery store today (which I never do!) and each checkout lane was least five shopping carts deep. Each cart had at least two weeks worth of groceries. Not me, I was able to do express.
I am not stockpiling extra now; I am not hoarding food in my deep freezer. The rest of our area is. And honestly, you guys, I wish that I could…. but we are moving and I can’t move perishables or frozen food.
We live in the DMV area. This includes Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland. We have travelers coming in from all over. We have three international airports within a few miles of each other. What am I seeing… I am seeing shelves cleared, I am seeing the cancellation of field trips and competitions. I am seeing schools closing. I am seeing stockpiling. Some typically crowded areas are dead. Other areas they are normally slow (i.e. the grocery store during the day) are packed more than Super Bowl Sunday. I had to get my allergy shot today and the allergy office turned away patients. Temps were reported, travel questions were asked, symptoms were inquired. They asked some people to kindly leave.
