Back to School at Sam’s Club

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Tyson Foods, Inc. All comments and opinions are my own.

Anyone feeling the effects of the first bell? Today, my kids officially went back to school. What that really means is I can finally sit down with you and share more about how to make your back to school season easier.

Did you know that Sam’s Club sells a great variety of Tyson products, perfect for easy and convenient back to school meals and snacks, including State Fair® Corn Dogs and Jimmy Dean® Frozen Breakfast items? With five kids in the house, two who can fend for themselves (or whip something up for their brothers), this is incredibly convenient.  I wish to rewrite that sentence. With five kids in the house and a husband who is always hungry, this is incredibly convenient for a mom who cannot always get breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner in the oven quickly.  These snacks are so easy even your kids and husband can make them in a quick minute!

My kids were incredibly excited to try Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick (20 ct.) Breakfast is always a struggle for us and my desire to get protein in the children before school sometimes falls flat to a bowl of cereal and milk. This pancake and sausage combination feels more like a Sunday morning breakfast and I feel confident feeding their potential with protein before school. Pop in the microwave and voila, breakfast is served. Add some syrup for yummy goodness!

We found these pancakes and sausage on a stick in our local Sam’s Club freezer section. Jimmy Dean also makes them in blueberry! Want a savings? If you get them in blueberry, they will be $2.00 off at Sam’s Club from 8/21 to 9/15 with Sam’s Club Instant Savings.

Another after school option (because we always delay family dinner until my husband gets home) are the State Fair Corn Dogs (34 ct.) This holds the kids over until 6 pm where we all sit down together.

Right now, join Sam’s Club to get a $20 gift card when you sign up for a $45 Sam’s Club annual membership.  Benefits of Sam’s club include Club Pickup, Scan & Go and Instant Savings. With Scan and Go, pay from your phone and skip the checkout line for a faster shopping experience. Score! With Instant Savings, get extra offers on tons of already low prices. Yes! Additionally, look for more information in your Valpak envelopes for details on special offers available for Sam’s Club members.

Want something else convenient? You can order these items online now for Club Pickup later. This is awesome for me because it keeps me from unbuckling three car seats to pick up our groceries – Thank you Sam’s Club!

Which product is going in your cart with your next Sam’s Club purchase. The Pancakes and Sausage, Corn Dogs or both! Let us know what you think.

Have company coming over this Easter season? How about adding Peter Cottontail to your bathroom as a fun display. Place in baksets around the home or add something cute to a child’s bedroom. You will love this easy step-by-step TP Easter Bunny Craft!

Supplies

  • 1 Roll Of Toilet Paper
  • 2 Sheets White Tissue Paper
  • 1 Sheet White Construction Paper
  • 1 Sheet Pink Construction Paper
  • 1 Black Marker
  • 2 Plastic Eyes (Dollar Tree as a whole bag for $1)
  • Hot Glue
  • 3 Cotton Balls

Directions

  1. Lay the two sheets of tissue paper flat on the table. One on top of the other.
  2. Set the roll of toilet paper in the center of the tissue paper with one hole at the top. Carefully tuck the ends of the tissue paper into the hole. Slowly work your way all the way around, until all the tissue paper is tucked in your bunny’s body.
  3. Now take your cotton balls and slightly pull them apart, so that they are nice and fluffy. Add three small dots of hot glue around the hole with all the tucked in tissue paper. Place the cotton balls on all three dots. This should now be covering the opening and creating the tail for the bunny.
  4. On the other end glue the plastic eyes about a half inch down form the edge of the roll.
  5. Cut out a few strips of white construction paper to make whiskers. Also cut out a oval shape nose from the pink constriction paper. Hot glue these at the center of the hole. Even with the opening being covered you will be able to slightly see it. Add a dot of hot glue and then lay the whiskers down first and then the nose.
  6. Take your black marker and draw a line under the nose making a J facing both ways.
  7. Last we need to make the ears. This can be a bit trickier and you can do it differnet that I have.
  8. Take the white construction paper and fold it in half. Then cut out a long oval shape that is flat at one end. By having your paper folded you sould end up with two ears after cutting. Fold them so that there is a cress down the center lenght ways. Now at the end of a slit about an in long. Then add a fold at the top of that slit. Fold the two pieces over. Then fold a fold at the top of that slit. Fold the two slit pices over each other, making somehting similar to the corner of a box. Tuck the ends of those pices up and down to lock them in place.
  9. Now on the top of the roll just above the eyes, glue an ear. Make sure that the boxed edge we made is facing the oppostie side of the eyes so you cannot see them when looking at the face.
  10. After they are glued in place carefully bend them over and glue them to the back end with a small dot of hot glue.

Movie Night Teacher Appreciation Gift

We love our Teachers and want to gift them with something that shows how much we appreciate their time and dedication to our kiddos. Most teachers get mugs filled with candy and while that’s also a lovely gift, we wanted to make something with a little more ‘pop’! That’s where this Movie Night Idea came in. One of our favorite things to do as a family is rent a Redbox movie, pop some popcorn and relax together. We figured our teachers would love that too! So, we packaged up some popcorn, you could also add a bag of un-popped corn and tied it up with twine attached the FREE Printables and the gift was ready to go! So easy!

You can get your own Redbox Code Gift HERE.

Pampers Easy Ups at Sam’s Club

This post may contain affiliate links or ads. Read my privacy policy and disclosure policy here.

June 27, 2019 by Ashley at Frugal Coupon Living Filed Under: Baby, Coupons

published date: June 27, 2019
modified datt: June 27,2019

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Pampers at Sam’s Club. The opinions and text are all mine.

Three of my five kids are potty trained. Well, almost three. We have been working on one…

Potty training is not like jumping on a bike. Every time that I prepare for a new child entering the field of “child meet potty” I have to prep myself. Yes, you guys, this is just as hard for mom! Additionally, each child is unique. Some are smart (disclosure, all my kids are smart) and some are not as over achieving (I will not mention names.) Also, with all three kids, I have done it at a different age, and that makes all the difference!

With my oldest, I potty trained right before she reached the age of two. She did fine. She is/was a type A personality, but there was some verbal communication that would have been nice for her to have. With my second child, I waited until almost 3 and a half. This was not because she wasn’t ready, it was because I wasn’t ready. Having waited, I can say that she got it the quickest of all my children! With the third, he is 2 and a half. Our nanny was ready so inevitably, he had to be ready too. And he has done great, but mastering the skill of #2 has led to some days of constipation for fear of using the potty.

A few tricks I can share are go all in. The day you decide to do it, take off the diaper and don’t turn back. We normally hang around the home naked for a few days. A lot of juice and we set a timer every 20 minutes. If he/she doesn’t go at 20 minutes, then the new timer is 5 minutes until potty is done and we reset to 20 minutes. Going number two, is a bit more challenging. Begin to look for clues in bowel movement behavior. My boy would hide and begin to hold his bottom with his hand. We did a lot of reading on the potty. Often children are going from standing up to sitting down, so knowing how to use the muscles in a new position takes thought.

Rewards. Rewards vary by family and child. Initially, our reward was an M&M for successful potty trips. Because I am a sucker for this blue eyed, blonde haired boy, he got a truck for a successful number 2 on the toilet. He is a smart boy and really struggled with victory over number two (sometimes your kids who over think, over think on the potty too!) This construction truck was his reward! Other reward systems I have done, have been sticker charts. One potty we owned, sang a song every time my child used the potty (that became quickly old, though!)

One of the hardest areas to master with potty training is night. One suggestion I have, is limit drinks before bed. Have the last drinks about 1 to 2 hours before you put your child down. Have your child empty his/her bladder before they go down for the night. With two of my three children, I would remove them from bed at my bed time (normally around 10 or 11) and carry them to the potty. I would not wake them but would whisper in their ear, go potty. I did this for years!
