So I love Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. I love that it absorbs moisture, this was especially helpful when we lived in the humid environment of Florida.

This home habit has not stopped for me, even after our move to the DC area. I always keep a box in the refrigerator and under the kitchen sink. Under the sink because of sink pipes and also because this s the location for the tubes for our dishwasher.

For the pats six weeks we have been having trouble with the dishwasher. After trying to troubleshoot the issue ourselves, it took six weeks for a technician to finally come out to our home (The time length because was under warranty – boy those warranties are a joy!)

Well the technician FINALLY came, and unbeknownst to me, there was a very small leak. Like I shared before, under my sink was a 4 lb box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and that box was saturated with weeks of water leakage, saving my cabinets and wood floor. The smallest leak was unnoticed.

This is my PSA to tell you to stock up. Put boxes in places that could retain water should a leak go unnoticed. Maybe behind the clothing washer, under the sink, and near the tubes for the dishwasher. It totally saved me $1,000s. (I would not recommend the bag, as the plastic exterior would not absorb moisture.)

I also use the Fridge-N-Freezer Packs to keep moisture out of fruits and veggies in my refrigerator and one in the freezer for good measure.

When introducing food to my babies, I always introduced vegetable puree first. My second child would beg for broccoli growing up. I recall picking her up from her crib one day after nap and she asked me for broccoli and a Popsicle. It was a staple in our home. Somewhere between child three (who is 14 months older than the twins) and child four and five (whoa that was fast), I went wrong. We went from a family of four to a family of seven in a years time. It was quick and I guess my mom award got lost in the “extra” people.

The twins, who are 19 months, and my two and a half year old struggle to eat greens. I make myself feel better by getting all the protein in their diet I can, but man – what did I do wrong? Because I lost my mojo, I had to become a trickster. I was first introduced to hiding veggies in food with this book Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food. I decided to accept the challenge and find additional recipes my kids would love.

Gather your ingredients for your next ice cream party with this brownie sundae recipe. A chocolate dipped bowl, a brownie, vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, syrup and a cherry, twist up this traditional dessert!

Ice Cream Party Brownie Sundae Recipe

Anyone can toss ice cream on an ice cream cone! Why not spruce up your traditional go to dessert when a chocolate-dipped waffle cone bowl and an individuated brownie ice cream sundae. This sundae recipe is perfect for an ice cream party or a just because after dinner treat. It’s incredibly easy to make, just prepared your brownies ahead. You will need a 3.5 inch round cookie cutter (we love this set because it has a ruffle size and a smooth round side.)

Hosting an Ice Cream Party? If you can get your hands on a pumpkin, make this Ice Cream Cone Pumpkin. It was a hit this past fall! Also print and decorate with these fun Ice Cream Party printables.

Brownie Ice Cream Sundae Ingredients:

1 boxed brownie mix, prepared
1 package waffle bowls
1 package melting chocolate
1 package vanilla ice cream
Rainbow sprinkles (we used both rainbow nonpareils and standard size)
Chocolate syrup
Maraschino cherries
3.5 inch round cookie cutter

Yield: 9 sundaes

Save this recipe for later. Print your recipe and add it to your recipe box or recipe binder! This is my favorite Recipe Binder – I get tired of printing the same recipe over and over, this keeps me organized.

Easy Ice Cream Party Brownie Sundae Recipe

Ingredients

Scale

1 boxed brownie mix, prepared
1 package waffle bowls
1 package melting chocolate
1 package vanilla ice cream
Sprinkles
Chocolate syrup
Cherries
3.5 inch round cookie cutter

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Prepare brownies according to package instructions and cut out round pieces to fit inside a waffle bowl using a around 3.5 inch cookie cutter.
Prepare the waffle bowls by melting the chocolate according to package instructions. Place the melted chocolate in a shallow bowl that is wide enough to dip the top of the waffle bowls in. Dip each bowl into the melted chocolate and sprinkle sprinkles around the edge while the chocolate is still warm. Set the bowls aside to allow the chocolate to set.
When the chocolate on the bowl has hardened, place the round brownie pieces inside each bowl.
Top the brownie with a scoop of ice cream. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the ice cream and top with additional sprinkles and a cherry.

Notes

Tip: make sure the brownies are under-baked. Overcooked brownies will make eating the sundae difficult to eat without breaking the waffle bowl.
