Can you believe we are already talking back to school?! Beyond supplies and everything else that comes with starting school again, getting teachers a little treat to begin the school year is a great idea! Why not make them something? Any teacher would love these adorable cupcakes made to look like an apple! Make a tray of them and put in the Teacher’s Lunchroom or Main Office. They’re so easy to make and will be a huge hit! My kids would agree that a few set aside to enjoy after school on the first day is a good idea too!

Cake Ingredients:

  • 1 box White Cake Mix + box ingredients
  • Red Cupcake Liners

Frosting Ingredients:

  • 1 cup softened Butter
  • 3 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Red Sparkling Sugar
  • 12 Tootsie Roll Midgies
  • Green Fruit Rollups or Green M&Ms

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven and line muffin tins with paper liners.
  2. Prepare batter according to box directions.
  3. Fill liners 2/3 full and bake according to box directions for cupcakes.
  4. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Whip butter and vanilla for until fluffy.
  6. Gradually add powdered sugar.
  7. Add milk until you reach desired consistency.
  8. Add food coloring to acheive pink/red color.
  9. Frost each cupcake.
  10. Sprinkle with red sparkling sugar.
  11. Insert Tootsie Roll in middle to make stem.
  12. If using Rollups, cut 2 leaves for each cupcake and put in place or if using M&Ms, place 2 M&Ms to represent leaves.

2016 Report Card Freebies

Can you believe the end of the year is fast approaching? If you have an amazing student, be sure to check out this list of Report Card Freebies. This is a great resource for the end of the year! Most of these report card incentives are based on good grades, so keep that in mind before bringing in a poor report card. Perhaps some of these FREEBIES will provide motivation to finish the year strong.

Chuck E Cheese – Chuck E. Cheese believes in the value of a good education. Choose from the Super Student Award or the Graduation Certificate for FREE tokens for being a good student. Don’t forget these Chuck E Cheese Coupons – select your state, city, and location!

Krispy Kreme – Pick up a FREE original glazed donut for each A (up to 6 A’s or half a dozen donuts!) Call your location location ahead of time to confirm.

Chic-fil-A – Bring in your all A’s and B’s report card and receive a FREE 8 pack nuggets! Call ahead to your location to see if they are participating. Don’t forget this copycat Chic-fil-A Lemonade Recipe!

Pizza Hut – It’s a pizza party! Each marking period, any child who has 3 A’s or the equivalent thereof, will receive one Personal Pan Pizza and a small soft drink or carton of milk by presenting his or her report card to the manager. This offer is good for Elementary and Middle School students. Dine-in only. Student must be present and the original report card must be presented. Available at participating locations, call your area location ahead.

McDonald’s – If your child has a straight “A” report card, he/she can receive a FREE Happy Meal. This may vary by location so call ahead first!

Family Video – For every ‘A’ or equivalent in a core class (reading, math, science,…) that a student gets a FREE movie or game rental – that is a lot of entertainment. This works for kindergarten all the way through college students! The program dates vary based on stores, but most begin on June 1st. This is only for the month of June. Let your college sitter know too!

Cheryl’s Cookies – Get up to 3 FREE Cookies for A’s. This looks like locations in Ohio, California and Illinois only (look for retail store locations at the bottom of the website.) May I also suggest sending a cookie-a-gram. Send someone a word of encouragement for $5 plus they get a $5 gift card with their gift!

Cold Stone Creamery – Not on a national level, but the stores are individual owned & operated so the best thing to do would be to ask your local store as some have offered them in the past.

Bank Rewards – A reader sent in the tip to check with your local banks and credit unions as many of them offer money rewards for good grades as well.

Kudzoo App – Middle school and college students can download the FREE Kudzoo app and build Kudzoo cash to use in your favorite places, from restaurants to concerts. Earn the grades, scan the report cards then spend your Kudzoo cash! There is also a daily challenge round and coupons to help college students boost their savings!

Wendy’s – A report card with A’s and B’s earns a treat. Show the cashier your report card before ordering.

Applebee’s – Designed for grade school students, this reward card for teachers is available to motivate positive behavior (you set the criteria), and is yours for the asking!

Although, I did verify these FREEBIES, please call ahead to make sure your local location is participating! The last thing you want is a disappointed child with a good report card right?

If you are a homeschooling family you can still take advantage of these rewards, check out this fun FREE Printable Report Card!

Don’t forget Kids Bowl FREE!
