Toy Story Elf on the Shelf Ideas

You’ve got a friend in me!

Did you love our Toy Story Party Ideas? If you have seen and used this post, you must be a Toy Story fan, or at least have one in your home! This Toy Story Elf on the Shelf Idea was incredibly simple. We took our Buzz Lightyear toy and had him hug an Elf on the Shelf Woody. We have a woody doll in which the hat easily comes out. I worked hard to try to put the hat on Woody, but it wasn’t happening without some true craft supplies. Maybe I could have used adhesive Velcro on the hat and on the top of Elf’s head. It’s up to you if you wan to go that direction.

Elf on the Shelf Toy Story Supplies

  • Buzz Lightyear Toy Figure
  • Woody Toy Figure – you will need hat.

If you plan on doing some of these other ideas below consider getting wooden blocks, marshmallows, a Jessie Doll, a Mason Jar, Twine, a card game, and the Toy Story Buckaroo Game.

Toy Story 4 Forky + Elf on the Shelf Ideas

It’s a spork rescue! Did you love our last Toy Story Elf on the Shelf Ideas. With Buzz and Woody, you’ve always got a friend in me! We are back with more! This time with our beloved trash Forky.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas

We have spent the past 6 years coming up with new Elf on the Shelf Ideas. Every day in the month of November and December we come up with new ideas.  You can view

A new hit movie for kids, is always nice for Elf on the Shelf Ideas creativity. We have taken on a few Toy Story Elf on the Shelf Ideas to add to our Elf on the Shelf Master List – a list of every elf idea we have ever done.

For many of these Elf on the Shelf ideas, make sure you have an elf that can bend. You can do that easily with our Bendable Elf on the Shelf tutorial.  You also can sign up for all of our Free Elf on the Shelf Printables here and our free Frugal Coupon Living printables (there are a couple Buzz and Woody Toy Story Printables you will want there!)

Elf on the Shelf Ideas with Toy Story 4 Forky

Our Toy Story 4 Forky is form the Toy Story 4 Forky Craft Kit. This Elf on the Shelf idea with Toy Story was really simplistic, mostly because we had everything we needed. I would suggest Forky is placed in a clean garbage can – don’t have last nights spaghetti in the can. Also use a trash can that not be used the entire day.

Forky, the Toy Story 4 spork, is known for climbing into the trash. He is constructed from a spork, googly eyes, a pipe cleaner, clay, and a Popsicle stick, and a rainbow sticker. He was created by Bonnie, during a difficult first day of kindergarten. Bonnie claims him as hew new toy, but Forky identifies himself as trash thus creating the challenge of keeping him out of the trash and alongside Bonnie.

We played on this challenge with Elf on the Shelf saving Toy Story 4 Forky from the garbage. “I’m not a toy. I’m a spork. I’m trash!”

Where to Buy Toy Story 4 Forky

Grab the entire gang for this Toy Story Forky Idea with your Elf on the Shelf. You really only need your Elf on the Shelf, a Toy Story 4 Forky and of course, trash! Perhaps make sure it is a can that will not need to be used that day! Can you imagine the trash piling up in the kitchen?

There are a few places of where to buy Toy Story 4 Forky. You can get a Forky already made or perhaps pick up a kit and make it yourself.

Witness this Christmas with the Legend of Candy Cane Poem. This free printable gift tag reminds your receiver of Jesus, the Shepherd, and His blood shed for our sins.  It’s a cute gift for church, Sunday School, Awana and more!

Candy Cane Poem Printable

Does your family have any Christmas Traditions?  We have two traditions we have been pretty consistent about. First, we have done Elf on the Shelf from the time the kids were very young. This of course if very fun and a good way to enforce good behavior over the excitement of the Christmas season. We also try to reign it home with the reason for the season – Jesus.  This can be done via Advent Calendars or Birthday Cakes for Jesus (coming soon!) We also love to share the message of these season with our Candy Cane Poem Printable.

Candy Cane Poem Gift

When you are apart of a bible study or Sunday school group, gifting to the entire group can feel rather daunting. Your group is likely quite important to you and you want to show a little thought but spending money on everyone isn’t very friendly on the wallet. For those of us who have the love language of giving gifts, this frugal friendly Candy Cane Poem is for you!

Look at the candy cane, what do you see?
Stripes that are red, like the blood shed for me.
White is for my Savior, who’s sinless and pure!
J is for Jesus, my Lord,
That’s for sure!
Turn it around and a staff you will see;
Jesus, my shepherd, was born for me!

The poem is a cute way to witness over the Christmas season. It’s also a gift that can be re-gifted to witness to unbelievers too! Simply print your PDF (see below) and cut the Gift Tags out. Cut a hole and tie to a candy cane with a Christmas Ribbon.

Also check this out! I also gave this adorable punny paper towel gift tag to my group of bible study ladies last year.

These stickers for our Elf on the Shelf Ideas with Photo Booth were found in our dollar bin at our local Michael’s Craft Store! New creative, funny, and original Elf Ideas daily.

Elf Ideas with Photo Booth Props

We are back, so is the Elf on the Shelf! If you have been with us a long time, you know we have brought you a new Elf Ideas every day in the months of November and December. You can view our Elf on the Shelf Master List for a full list of ideas including every idea we have ever done. Additionally, we have  many more ideas coming, including this Elf Photo Booth Prop Idea.

For this idea you will need a Bendable Elf on the Shelf.  This will allow Elf to hold up the tooth picks for his photo booth props.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas with Photo Booth Props

While strolling the aisles of Michael’s (with three kids under two – okay it wasn’t a stroll, it was a race), I came across this adorable Photo Booth Sticker Book for only $1. Because I have been doing Elf on the Shelf Ideas since 2011, when I see something of this size my mind immediately races to Elf on the Shelf – it was a perfect fit! Additionally, once I was done with my Funny Elf Idea, I could share the sticker book with the kids who would have many of their own uses for it!

I added toothpicks to the Photo Props Stickers. When the bendable elf wasn’t holding the toothpick well, I inserted the pointy tip slightly into his red fabric – don’t worry, no elves were harmed in this funny elf idea. A few of the photo booth stickers were applied directly to our Elf.

Spend only one dollar for this Elf on the Shelf Idea. You likely already have your elf and your toothpicks. Just pick up a Photo Booth Sticker Book at Michael’s Crafts.

Easy peasy, really simplistic – right?

DIY Popcorn Gift Basket with Printable Popcorn Labels & a Christmas Gift Tag. These make popcorn seasoning mixes and handmade mason jar gift ideas for neighbors, teachers, friends, family and more.

Popcorn Gift Basket with Printables

DIY Popcorn Gift Basket

Remember the gift ideas from just a few years back. Candles. Mugs. I was a teacher during this season and ended up with many of both. Oh hand lotion too! I loved all the gifts I was given from my students, I have not gotten rid of any of them BUT with the evolution of Pinterest, gift ideas have stepped up. It doesn’t mean more money has to be spent. In fact, Pinterest allows us to save in a lot of ways. For example, free printables (you know we love those on Frugal Coupon Living!)

We love this DIY Popcorn Gift Basket for stepping up your Christmas gift giving. Pairing pantry supplies like popcorn kernels, canola oils, spices, seasonings and more, it’s a creative idea that can be used for friends, family, teachers, coaches and even neighbors.

Neighbor Gift Ideas for Christmas

Looking for Christmas Gift Ideas for your Neighbors? We have plenty of gift ideas for your closest friends (by proximity!) These creative gift ideas require a gift tag and then you are done. Easy-peasy. You’re welcome.

This popcorn gift basket idea, will be a perfect idea for your neighbors. Maybe they will even invite you over for one of their movie or game nights.

DIY Popcorn Gift Basket Supplies

This basket can be as frugal-friendly as you like or you can add more fixings to “jazz” up your basket.

A few popcorn gift basket supplies include:

  • Gift basket
  • Basket filler (we used red crinkle paper filler)
  • Small, medium, and/or large mason jars.
  • Seasoning shakers (you can get seasoning shaker tops for mason jars)
  • Popcorn kernels
  • Canola oil
  • Popcorn seasonings
  • Printable gift tag and popcorn labels (see below)
  • Hot glue gun and glue (or sticker paper)
  • Ribbon or twine (we used red and white bakers twine)

Extra budget? Some people do not have kernel popcorn makers. If that is the case, anyone can pop popcorn in a brown lunch bag. Add a brown bag to your basket with directions. We really suggest this Popco Silicone Microwave Popcorn Maker. it turns into a collapsible bowl and is BPA free and dishwasher safe. It also comes in 10 colors!

Additionally, consider adding a gift card. A movie theater gift card is always appreciated.

DIY Popcorn Gift Basket Ideas for Christmas

Popcorn Basket Directions

Supplying you with the basic directions.

First, fill basket with filler. (We used red crinkle paper filler.)

Pour popcorn kernels in medium mason jar and canola oil in the small mason jar. Place both inside basket.

Add popcorn seasonings to seasoning shakers.

Print printable gift tag and jar labels on card stock or sticker paper. Cut out jar labels that match the popcorn seasoning flavors in each shaker and attach with hot glue. Place seasoning shakers in basket.

Add any other popcorn accessories to your basket – brown bags, popcorn makers, bowls, etc.

Lastly, cut out gift tag around outer edge and punch a hole in the corner. Attach the gift tag to the basket with a piece of ribbon or baker’s twine. (We used red and white bakers twine.)

Popcorn Seasoning Mix Recipes

Popcorn Seasoning Mixes

We have a few ideas for popcorn seasoning mixes and how to make them. However, we used Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasoning Variety Pack for our gift basket (I am all about making easy Christmas gift ideas!) Just pour the inside of the package into a cute mason jar shaker!

Elf on the Shelf Ideas Rudolph Family Red Pom Pom and Googly Eyes

Rudolph Family Elf on the Shelf Idea

Do this idea because it will make you laugh every time you look at the photo (and you will have a picture, because capturing this memory in your Timehop is inevitable!) Enjoy that forever photo!

Elf turned the entire family into Rudolph. We picked up Googly Eyes from Michaels and Red Pom Pom Noses from Michaels. They had smaller wiggly eyes but I liked how it make the eyes look large and buggish. I had poster putty to hold up the facial features.

After Elf was gone, I took everyone’s disguise off except for my second daughters. She often doesn’t pay attention to detail sin the home, details in general, and it stayed for a couple days while the rest of the family enjoyed the chuckle. She has such great humor that she let us keep it up longer! It makes me giggle when I walk by. If you have a child that is good with such humor too, consider leaving it up. Enjoy the laughter for as long as you can!

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.

Elf on the Shelf Construction Truck

Dump Truck Elf on the Shelf Idea

Sometimes the easiest ideas are the most loved. My boys love trucks, so imagine their delight when they saw Elf in their Cat Dump Truck. As a reminder, when you take your Elf outside of the house have clues to lead your child to find Elf. Muddy footprints might be a great way to hint construction and trucks. If you hate mud and what just isn’t an option (let’s be truthful, I won’t be doing that), I might use our orange cones to lead to Elf or leave a not that says “Help me dig the garden!” There are lots of ways to give hints!
