Christmas is an excellent time to get crafting. Take this LEGO Nativity Challenge and learn how to make a LEGO Nativity scene. Download our DIY LEGO Nativity Set Instructions and Christmas Bible verse printables for a story of the Gospel as you go on this 12 days of Christmas LEGO countdown. Additionally, save these Christmas Lego Ideas including Christmas ornaments, villages, advent calendars, decor and more.

DIY LEGO Nativity Set

How to Build a LEGO Nativity

Christmas is an excellent time to share the Gospel. Sharing the Good News doesn’t have to be endless hours of reading the Bible by candle light. You can tell the story of Christmas in a way that meet your child’s needs. Like through a  Christmas LEGO Set. Teach your child the Christmas story with this LEGO Countdown to Christmas.

We have quite the challenge for your family. Build an entire Christmas nativity set and read and explore the story of Christmas in the Bible story as you work. Twelve days of LEGO fun. Twelve days of the Gospel. A LEGO Nativity Advent Calendar in one!

How to Make a LEGO Nativity Scene

Do you have a creative child? Give them 12 days of activities to create a final goal – a DIY Christmas Nativity. You do not need a certain number of pieces. you can use whatever colors you want. This will allow you to gather your loose pieces and get crafty and build with building blocks.

Build Your Own LEGO Christmas Nativity Set with Printable Challenge

LEGO Nativity Instructions

Follow these Nativity directions for how to use the Lego Advent Calendar.

  1. Print your LEGO nativity cards.
  2. Cut LEGO cards and place by order of day.
  3. Each day take a card and make the LEGO figure to add to your nativity scene.
  4. Read the accompanying Christmas Bible verse after (or before) you build.
  5. When all LEGO figures have been completed, read the full story of Christmas found in Matthew 1:18 -2:12: Luke 2:1-20.

For the LEGO printables, step-by-step nativity figure instructions are not included. Rather your child is given a a list of what to make each day. Let your child get creative with the pieces they have to create each character of the LEGO Christmas Nativity Set.

We suggest keeping the final pieces as you go, so you have a full nativity set when done. However, if you do not have a huge stash of LEGOs, you can build each day and then build something different the next day.

DIY LEGO Nativity Advent Calendar

12 Days of Christmas LEGO Challenge

Each day, your child is given a creative challenge. To build a new piece of their DIY LEGO Advent Calendar until they have a complete Nativity. Each piece of the challenge includes Christmas bible verses to tell the story of the birth of Christ.

This 12 Days of Christmas Challenge includes the following.

Day 1: The Stable (Micah 5:2)

Day 2: The Donkey (Luke 2:1-3)

Day 3: Joseph (Luke 2:4)

Day 4: Mary (Luke 2:5)

Day 5: Sheep (Luke 2:8-11)

Day 6: Cow (Luke 2:12)

Day 7: Shepherd (Luke 2:16)

Day 8: Wiseman 1 (Matthew 2:1-2)

Day 9: Wiseman 2 (Matthew 2:3-8)

Day 10: Wiseman 3 (Matthew 2:9-12)

Day 11: Manger (Luke 2:6-7)

Day 12: Jesus (Isaiah 9:6)

Isaiah 9:6 is one of my favorite verses. “For unto us a a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

What a beautiful story of Christmas!

You know I love a low cost Random Act of Kindness. It’s such an easy way to tell someone you are thinking about them. Use them for teachers, neighbors, family and friends. Often, in the checkout line at the grocery store, I grab an extra piece of candy and attach a cute printable gift tag.

Why not take advantage of another holiday and another season and let someone know you are thinking of them with this super cute No Tricks, Just Treats Halloween Gift Tags. When looking for a quick and easy gift idea, gift tags are perfect. Attach to a low cost candy and whoa-la, your gift is done.

How to Have Amazing Printables

I had someone  ask why my printables always look so great. My secrete is I outsource printing them. I have a great printable, but it goes through ink so fast – okay maybe not so great. I use Staples Printing Service Page. It’s low cost and affordable and saves my printer ink.

I have a video to show you how I print my PDF documents at Staples.

Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. You’ve Been Booed Instructions

What are the you’ve been booed instructions?  The instructions are simple. This Halloween traditions starts with one giver who prints a you’ve been booed poem.

Fall is here, the air is crisp,
To celebrate this little Halloween gift.

It was made especially for you,
It’s a sweet surprise named a boo.

Secret friends have left it here,
To bring your family some holiday cheer.

Enjoy your treats, they are yours to keep.
No one will tell who left this treat.

Attach your boo sign where it can be seen,
make sure to leave it there until Halloween.

The gifter secretly leaves (boos) two more houses with a tasty treat. They leave behind the printed you have been boo’ed poem, sign and ring the door bell and run.

The receiver hangs the “we’ve been boo-ed sign” so it is visible on the front door or window for others to see. They return the favor and become the gifter to two more neighborhood homes. The process continues until the neighborhood is boo-ed.
