Let’s have a  bit of fun putting Grinch on a bench. Today we are putting together some fun Elf on the Shelf Grinch ideas and including a free printable bad Santa Grinch. This allows you to use any of your favorite Grinch ideas for the holidays and pair it along side your Elf on a Shelf during Christmas time.

What is Grinch on a Bench?

First, a Grinch is a naughty green monster often seen during the Christmas season. The Grinch is the bah-humbug or Ebenezer Scrooge of Christmas spirit. Inspired by the Grinch fictional character created by Dr. Seuss in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you can now purchase a Grinch on a Bench. This blends two things – Elf on the Shelf and Grinch. This is not part of the Scout Elf on the Shelf brand and (quite honestly) I would imagine this Grinch doll will not last long as it looks very similar to our beloved Santa’s Scout Elves.

Do you have older kids? Turn your Elf on a Shelf into a bunch of bones. For this terrible Elf idea, use ketchup and roast chicken bones to make a perfect elf-shaped skeleton. This elf formation of a skeleton would be a bad parent idea for any younger kids as it would send a wrong message. What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition to celebrate the spirt of Christmas. The holiday tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD.
