These Transportation Worksheets are perfect for creative fun and fine motor skills! The kids will love using their imagination and creating many fun vehicles with their hands! Let them have fun with the process and show off their skills!

Little kids LOVE all sorts of transportation vehicles. From buses to the ice cream truck, kids can spot them a mile away! These fun transportation worksheets for preschoolers are one that lets them be a part of the creative process from the beginning to the end!

These hand-print worksheets show them that art and imagination can come together in a really cool and unique way. There are great for a rainy day, or a fun way to let the kids build their artistic and creative confidence. In addition to fun handprint art, these means of transportation worksheets work on literacy skills. Help kids bring forth kinetic learning while working on writing and sounding out letters to create a vehicle word.

What are some fun ideas for using these transportation worksheets for kindergarteners?

The best part about this printable transportation pack is that you can use them however you want! The kids can start with one, and take a break, or work their way through them all!

In these cute transportation worksheets, there are modes of transportation that include tires, shifts, buckets, mega wheels, and more. Take a look at these different kinds of transportation that are included in the set.

Modes of Transportation:

  • Ambulance
  • Bulldozer
  • Cement Mixer
  • Dump Truck
  • Excavator
  • Fork Lift
  • Garbage Truck
  • Helicopter
  • Ice Cream Truck
  • Jeep
  • Kayak

Didn’t think we could get A to Z when it came to alphabet vehicles, did you???

I’m a huge fan of having fun options for any and all occasions! Some fun ideas to pair this with would be for a…

  • Sleepover Party
  • Classroom Activity
  • Birthday Party
  • Family Craft Night

Make sure to grab some paint, markers, and crayons for the kids so that they can decorate and color every page just like they imagine!

What are tips for using handprint worksheets?

Since not all handprints are the same, there are a few things to keep in mind. Talk to the kids and let them know that their handprints are not going to fit exactly into the handprint area, but that close enough is fine! That way, they won’t stress out about it and can move on with the rest of the activity.

You can also encourage them to think outside the box and trace their own handprints to recreate some of the transportation vehicles. This shows them that they’re capable of following directions and also using analytical thought to create something new and different, too.

While these A-Z transportation printables focus on quite a few options, it’s not a totally complete list. Have the kids use what they’ve learned and create another page about a vehicle that they haven’t done. They’ll love creative independence!

Instructions

Once you download the public transportation workers, it’s a simple and fun process!

First, get the worksheets. Download your Transportation Printable Worksheets

Once they’re printed, make sure that they are in alphabetical order, and start. You can leave it as easy as that, or make it more, too. The options are up to you!

Talk to the kids about the different vehicle on the page, and then have them either stamp their handprint in the handprint area or trace and color it in.

You can also paint small hands with a paintbrush and allow each child to stamp their hand on their artwork. Let the hand dry and then continue to color your transportation coloring page.

They do this for each of the printable pages and work their way through! It’s actually a catch-22 in that it’s a fun activity for kids but also a cute keepsake for grandparents or you!

FAQ Vehicle Transporation Worksheets

Mad Science Party Charades – This is a timed game where the group is split into two teams. Each group has to guess what the other group is acting out!

Burst the Atom – This game involves balloons and everyone around tries to pop the balloons. Guarantees an eruption of laughter.

Slimey – This game on the printable is so much fun because kids get to do a science experiment. Plus slime makes a fun science party favor.

Test Tube Relay Race – This is a fun racing game where the goal is to create colors by mixing colored water together.

Catch the atoms – Consider this a more fun version of an Easter Egg hunt where the kids are catching atoms instead of Easter eggs!

Child Screen Time Tickets Printables for Kids Incentives

Trade in these child screen time tickets for entertainment on video games, the computer, tablets, smartphones or even watching television. These screen time coupon printables are great kid incentives, moving responsibility from the parent to the child to earn rewards and prizes!

I recently saw a meme about a mom announcing “screen time is over.” The image of this meme was depicting a grown man in a toddler fit. It gave me a good chuckle. Can you relate?

No matter the age of your child, I am sure we can all relate to temper tantrums once screen time has been declared over. In many cases, the temper tantrum is my own as screen time allows me (as a parent and at-home working mother) to get things accomplished… you can relate to this too, right?

If screen time or the end of screen time in your home is a real juggling act, we have technology tickets that might create incentives, rewards, and structure in your home.

What is the definition of Screen Time?

The screen time definition is pretty straightforward. Let’s try to definite it without using the words. Screen time is the number of minutes that one spends on an electronic device which can include a computer, television, iPhone, tablet, gaming system, or Kindle.

Is Screen Time Bad for Kids?

Yes and no. Just like chocolate and sweets, everything that is for you can either be good or bad. It must be used in moderation.

There are a few reasons individuals might express why too much screen time is bad.

Why screen time is bad…

  • It can affect vision

  • There is a rumor it makes tics worse

  • It can cause aggression

  • It can create ADHD

  • It creates an inability to focus

While I have listed a few reasons people do not prefer screen time, I am not going to go over the reasons screen time is bad. In fact, you can quickly do a web search and get plenty of reasons your child should not have screen time. That is up to you.

As a former teacher and mother of five, I am here to show you why screen time is actually good for kids.

Benefits of screen time include…

  • Learning to focus

  • An ability to sit still

  • Education Learning

  • Rewards

So clearly there are good and bad reasons for screen time, now let’s talk about how to do it in moderation.

Screen Time Rules

Knowing the rules of screen time can save you from the temper tantrum we mentioned above.

If screen time is a reward and certain limits are expected, it’s important to go over rules and expectations with kids. If your kids know their expectations then they know what is to come.

Family Rules for Screen Time might include…

  • Staying in safe online environments
  • Not talking with other people online
  • Not going to cat rooms
  • Setting a timer for screen time
  • Completing responsibilities first

Scholastic actually has a good resource of screen time rules when creating some that work for your family.

Two things that I have found helpful in my own struggle with screen time, are giving the children control and also letting the child know how much time they will have beforehand. When I share the amount of time they can play, my kids are not caught off guard when time is officially up because they began “playing” knowing they only had x number of minutes. While this has not solved all my parenting problems, holding true to time has been really helpful.

Let your kids take charge. For example, when our kids get screen time, they set up an alarm on the kid’s Alexa to go alert them when their time is up. This allows me to not keep track of time and also gives them their own responsibility to monitor their time and get off when their time is up. Before beginning their game, they say “Alexa, tell me when 30 minutes is over” …and that is what she does! Tip: You can also work on Alexa giving them a 25-minute reminder, in addition, so they know they need to wind down where they are in the game.

If you like a few of these screen time benefits, you might appreciate having printable tickets to earn screen time rewards.

Printable Screen Time Tickets

Now that we agree screen time is a thing, let’s talk about how to control the rewards with child screen time ticket printables.

Once you download your printable tickets PDF, decide how to earn screen time tickets

Ways to Earn Screen Time Tickets

Come up with fun ways for children to earn screen time rewards. You can come up with this on your own or you can allow your child to brainstorm with you.

These incentives can include…

  • After completion of chores

  • As a reward for good behavior

  • After reading a book

  • After going outdoors

What are some ideas you and your child have?

What electronics are screen time tickets good for?

These incentive tickets can be used for any gaming system or electronics including but not limited to…

  • Smart Phone
  • XBox
  • Kindle
  • IPad
  • Nintendo
  • Wii
  • Tablet
  • TV

Are you ready to get your printable screen time coupons? These reward coupons are perfect for all ages and they are quite colorful and cute making them even more exciting.

In this pack of Screen Time Tickets, we included screen time limits.

This set includes minute screen time tickets for

  • five minutes
  • ten minutes
  • fifteen minutes
  • thirty minutes
  • sixty minutes.

We also included a golden ticket for you to use as you see fit. Perhaps a weekend day of unlimited screen time for good behavior. You can combine tickets if your child needs one of the numbers not included in this set.

Printing Tips

A laminator is a great resource for digital downloads. It allows you to keep the product for a long time without damaging the print.

Consider printing on white cardstock printer paper to keep your kid’s screen time tickets durable and strong.

Color will vary by printer. I like to order my prints at Staples. It saves on ink and is only a few short miles from my home. I pick up the item in the store, but you can also upload them online and then have them shipped to your home.

How do you make a scavenger hunt for kids at home?

It’s actually really simple to make an at-home scavenger hunt for kids. Using common places like the front yard, bedroom, and utensil drawer, your kids will go on an adventure through the home seeking clue after clue with rhyming riddles to guide them.

A kids’ scavenger hunt for back to school can have a small treasure with each found clue or a jackpot of treasures at the end of the hunt. If using a small gift with each new location, make sure your kids have a basket, bag, or even a backpack to help them collect their back to school supplies.

What things do I need for school?

Back to school basics include a few school supplies you can find at your local stores. Many of these items are the same year after year, no matter what your age or grade.

  • Number 2 pencils

  • Erasers

  • Pencil case

  • Notebook paper

  • Crayons

  • Highlighters

  • Glue

When it comes to creative and fun for kids, this adorable Alphabet Handprint Craft is the best. This printable alphabet handprint crafts activity is great for early learners as well as preschool-aged children who love messy play! Create an adorable handprint alphabet book or fun keepsakes for mom and dad. Have fun learning all the letters A to Z with these adorable Alphabet Handprint Crafts for Toddlers.

A to Z Alphabet handprint art for toddlers

When the kids are little, it’s fun to find creative activities and crafts to do with them. And let’s be honest, the kids will be super pumped to dip their little hands in paint and be a part of creating the alphabet sitting right next to you.

The really fun part about this handprint crafts activity is that every page focuses on a letter of the alphabet (and has a super cute and fun saying to go along with it!)

How do you keep the paint from staining kids’ hands?

Some paint will stain hands and sometimes, there isn’t anything that you can do about it. Instead of acrylic paint, the BEST way to keep the paint from staining their hands is to use a washable paint (like this low-cost set.)

You can also add a tad bit of lotion on their hands and have them rub it in before dipping their hands in the paint. This is a great way to add an extra barrier to their skin and can help avoid having stained hands for weeks!

Why are handprint crafts important?

I get it – I’m a parent (and former classroom teacher) and I know the thoughts that surround messy play. But, in my mind, messy play is great for creative play, imaginative play, and fine motor skills as well. In addition to working on fine motor skills and creativity, hand, and fingerprint art leaves a piece of history behind. It captures tiny hands on a certain date and year so you can look back at the little handprints and ask yourself through nostalgia “how did they grow so fast?!” It’s two birds with one stone – learning and sweet keepsake crafts.

Since each printable letter of the alphabet has a space for the kids to dip their hands in paint and be a part of the process, this will also keep them engaged during the entire alphabet activity. That is HUGE for little kids!

What are the benefits of Alphabet Art Activities?

By incorporating artwork into alphabet letters you are promoting early literacy bringing auditory learning to kinetic learning. The child had heard the letter, visualized the letter, and now they are working with their hands to further imprint (pun intended) the letter into their memory bank.

These handprint artwork activities promote…

  • aids in early reading
  • develops vocabulary
  • helps with letter recognition
  • connects how printed text is associated with the spoken language
