Every year and with each additional child, the date became later and later. This year, with the expected delivery of the twins, we decided to go very slim on decorations. I just couldn’t handle the babies coming and getting everything put away.

Anyways, moving on from the holidays of last year and onto the first holiday of the new year – Valentines Day! Last year you guys loved our Valentine Home Decor Ideas. I don’t often reinvent the wheel. I get a lot of Christmas Decor inspiration from vignettes on Pinterest and homes around me. We had this in mind when finding ideas to perfect the perfect Christmas Mantles.

My inspiration when decorating the home always goes to Pinterest. Anyone else? I love a good ole home magazine, but sometimes the colors are extreme or the craft technique seems impossible. For this reason, I feel Pinterest gives me a great glimpse of real life and home of real people (yes, I do realize that behind that camera is a mound of dirty laundry and toys that are broken and never put away – well, at least I hope!) When it comes to Christmas Decor and the Christmas season I went after some Inspiring Christmas Mantels. I can do a great job with the tree, but sometimes other areas of the home get neglected and mantels are perfect even in homes with young kids barbecue they are high and out of reach. They also are typically not a spot that would mess up the efficiency of day to day life. Happy Decorating!
