Homemade Cheesy Garlic Sticks

Easy at home recipe with Pillsbury Pizza Crust Dough. You also can make your own dough and sauce with these recipes:

Ingredients:

1 can Pillsbury Refrigerated Pizza Crust
1 tbsp softened Butter
1 tbsp Minced Garlic
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
1 tbsp Basil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425.
Mix together softened butter and garlic to make a spread.
Line Pizza pan with parchment paper.
Unroll pizza dough and stretch to fit prepared pan.
Spread butter mixture to completely cover pizza dough.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over dough.
Sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly over dough.
Sprinkle basil evenly over dough.
Using pizza cutter cut into 6 strips and then down the middle.
Bake for 10 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
Cut again along previous cuts to separate.

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD

Christmas Tree Rice Krispie Treats

I have had fun sharing with you Rice Krispie Treats for every holiday – Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Halloween and more. I love this Christmas Tree Tutorial and I have a great tip to help you mold the tree – Use the trial form that comes in a waffle cone pack to protect the cones and cut it to make a form to help shape the trees. Directions and tips below!

Ingredients:

6 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
3 tbsp Butter
10.5 oz Marshmallows
Green Food Coloring
12 Miniature Reese’s Cups
1/3 cup M&M Minis
12 Candy Stars
3 cup Powdered Sugar
3 tbsp Milk
3 tbsp Corn Syrup

Directions:

To help in forming the cone shape, I took the foam that comes in a waffle cone pack to protect the cones and cut it to make a form to help shape the trees.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium to large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Add enough food coloring to make mixture dark green (it will lighten when cereal is added).
Remove from heat.
Add the Rice Crispies cereal and stir until cereal is well coated.
Allow to set about 4 minutes.
Butter a your hands and form mixture into cone shapes.
Place cones onto prepared pan.
Allow to cool and firm up for several hours.
Mix powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
Transfer to piping bag or zippered bag to pipe onto cookies.
Pipe like a garland around each tree.
Space M&M minis like ornaments onto the garland.
Pipe a dab of icing on top of tree to act as glue and attach star.
Place a Reese’s upside down on pan. Pipe icing on it and place tree on top.
Allow to set before serving.

Heavenly Salted Caramel Apple Spread

If you are looking for a heavenly dessert, look no further than this Salted Caramel Apple Spread. This makes a great side dish on the dessert tables and serves well with pretzels, cookies, crackers or is delicious with nuts and fruit. Everyone will be asking you for the recipe! Ingredients:

8 oz Cream Cheese
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1/4 cup Butter
3/4 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Water
1/4 tsp Coarse Sea Salt
2 tbsp chopped Walnuts (optional)

Directions:

Place cream cheese in freezer for 30 minutes.
Slice frozen cream cheese to make two layers and return to freezer.
Line bottom of a loaf pan with parchment paper and spray the paper with non-stick spray.
Cut up butter into slices and combine with cream and microwave 1-2 minutes until butter is melted.
In the medium to large saucepan, combine the sugar and water.
Stir just until the sugar is moistened and uniform, being careful not to splash sugar on sides.
Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
Cover with a lid for 1 minute (this helps wash any sugar on sides back in).
Remove lid and do not stir the after this point.
Place the pot with the sugar mixture over medium to medium-high heat.
Let the sugar syrup come to a boil without stirring.
Cook until mixture reaches 320, the syrup will begin to darken slightly.
Turn off the heat and slowly add the warm cream and butter mixture a little at a time while gently whisking (will bubble violently).
Turn burner back on to medium-high.
Let the caramel come to a boil and reach 240 without stirring.
Remove from heat add sea salt and whisk until mixture cools to 150.
Place one layer of frozen cream cheese in center of pan.
Pour caramel to completely coat layer.
Place secaon layer on top of first and poor caramel to coat top layer.
Sprinkle with chopped walnuts, if desired.
Place in freezer for 10 minutes to quickly cool caramel then transfer to refrigerator for 2 hours.
Transfer to platter before serving.
