It’s another Frugal Fashion Friday Outfit. I have been loving these loose blouses with ruffles in both the necklace and arms – they are so fun, and the ruffle dresses up the print! We paired this Black & White Gingham Blouse with some skinny whit jeans, wedge heals, a crossbody, and some oversized sunglasses. The tassel earrings create the most perfect and playful look!

Did you catch the One Pan Jambalaya? It’s an explosion of flavor and bite in one pot! We are excited to share more recipes from our One-Pot Meals FREE eBook! This week, a Tuscan White Bean Soup.

We worked hard and we are finally bringing you something we think you will be really proud of – ten, totally awesome One-Pot Meals for you and your family. These meals were created around the focus of preparing something healthy and tasty, in the easiest of ways. Combine simple ingredients into one pot for a complete meal that doesn’t require extra work! Simple ingredients, elegant dishes, great taste leave a winner of a meal, and a five-star review for our own One-Pot Meal eBook.

This is not the first time we have shared Soup Recipes. Our 31 Days of Hot Soup. is one of our most popular posts! Soup is huge in our home. It’s the middle child’s favorite meal and I work hard to make sure that middle child is not forgotten – after all soup is much cheaper than year of therapy over “forgotten middle child syndrome.” Okay, no more jokes.

This tasty One-Pot Meal mixes the flavor of onion, carrot, celery, onion, thyme, and a bay leaf all topped with Parmesan cheese. This has been a go to recipe for our weeknights as it combine very simple ingredients all tossed in a pot and left to cook on it’s own. This frees me up on time to feed the baby, help with homework, get everyone to music practice, and more. Toss, simmer, go!

Mother’s Day Crafts for Kids

As a former teacher, I always loved getting my students to put together a cute, handmade Mother’s Day gift for their moms. Not only did they love the activity, but I loved getting to see the fun they had while they made a special gift to celebrate their moms! It’s so fun to be a part of a memory frozen in time. And as a mom myself, I can only imagine the joy that receiving those crafts brought to the moms of my students at home!

Since my love of teaching and all things arts and crafts lives on, I wanted to gather all of the best Mother’s Day craft ideas — specifically, Mother’s Day crafts for preschoolers and elementary students, because I worked with younger students when I was a teacher! From a hand print that will one day get larger, to a cute little face that will one day evolve, to a sweet little message that can be read over and over, every single one of these Mother’s Day arts and crafts activities for kids is sure to put a huge smile on Mom’s face. When I think back on my favorite Mother’s Day gifts from my own kids, they were all the handmade works of art that they made in school. There’s just nothing better than knowing they worked hard on an adorable gift for their mom!

Keep reading to browse some of the most perfect Mother’s Day Crafts for preschoolers, elementary schoolers, and younger kiddos in general to use in the classroom or at home this Mother’s Day. The kids will have a blast creating and crafting their special gifts, and Mom will be so delighted to see what they made!

If you want the best mothers’ day gift I ever received (and with 5 kids, a lot of years, years of teaching and even more years of creating Pinterest I feel qualified to tell…), my kids made me this beaded wire rock picture frame. It was the cutest Preschool Mother’s Day Craft ever!

Supplies include: Acrylic Paint, a Thick Wire (1MM – 2.5MM  is a great size) and Large Hole Plastic Beads. No photographed, i personally added a mini clothespin to help keep the photo in place.

We also wanted to provide an easy chocolate chip muffin recipe, in case dad is in charge of  recipe or two! We love this chocolate chip muffin recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup almond milk (or regular milk, we like almond)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 vegetable oil
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Optional: white sugar and brown sugar.

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Line your muffin pan with cupcake liners or baking cups.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, half of the sugar, baking powder, chocolate chips, and salt. Mix well.
  4. In a separate, larger, bowl, place milk, oil, and egg. Whisk together.
  5. Slowly place your dry ingredients and mix into your wet ingredients until dry ingredients are moistened.
  6. Fill your baking cups a little over 3/4 full (not too much – we like them to be large, but not over flow!)
  7. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until slightly brown on top.
  8. Enjoy

Optional: Combine 3 tablespoons sugar to 2 tablespoons brown sugar and place on top of the muffin before baking.

Our One-Pot Steak Lettuce Wraps were quite exciting, so much so, that we felt excited to share another recipe from our newest eBook: One-Pot Meals.

Next up is our One Pan Jambalaya. This tasty recipe is a rice and meat explosion of flavor and taste. For this recipe, we pick up Walker & Sons Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning – oh my goodness, it’s tasty! The meal was a delight to make and even more fun gobbling it up!

I mentioned earlier our new lifestyle with a focus on Whole30 Recipes. We went through 30 days of no sugar and starches that were limited. Since then, I do have the occasional cheat day but when I do, I like to stay in line with my new lifestyle. If I can keep my meals in check, then I can indulge in a dessert or treat when I need. Our One Pan Jambalaya has chicken and sausages but also chilies and tomatoes. If you wanted to toss in peppers, any color would be great!
