Oh, these little Nutter Butter Penguins are just too cute! We always do some sort of food craft with the kids and this will be on the ‘To Make’ list for sure! I love that the kids can help with every step. Their little fingers will be covered in melted chocolate and there will be many an M&M munched but, that’s the fun of creating in the kitchen with kiddos! Have fun!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Nutter Butter Cookies
  • 1 package Ghirardelli Chocolate Wafers
  • 1 container of small candy eyes
  • 1 package Ghirardelli White Chocolate Wafers
  • Orange M &M’s

Directions:

  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
  2. Using a double boiler melt the chocolate wafers.
  3. Dip each Nutter Butter cookies entirely into the melted chocolate.
  4. Make sure that the cookie is fully covered with the melted chocolate.
  5. Remove the cookie from the melted chocolate with a fork.
  6. Lay the chocolate covered cookie on the wax paper to dry.
  7. Refer to the picture of the cookie for the next steps.
  8. Before the chocolate covering dries place the white chocolate wafer in the bottom half of the cookie.
  9. Place the two candy eyes on the top half of the covered cookie.
  10. Stand one orange M & M on it’s side directly below the candy eyes and place it as the nose.
  11. Put two orange M & M’s on the bottom of the cookie for the feet.

What is Elf on the Shelf?

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas Tradition. The tradition has a book and a elf doll. The book is poetic and in rhyme sharing the purpose of the Elf’s visits. The Elf visits each Thanksgiving. He/She goes and returns from the North Pole each evening. Every morning he can be found in a new location in the house. The Elf has been found in the refrigerator, fishing in the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from the lights. It is VERY IMPORTANT, the Elf is not touch each evening or his Christmas magic will be lost! Each family is able to name their special elf. The elves return to their home (Santa’s North Pole Work shop) every Christmas Eve. An Elf’s Story can also be found on DVD

Online you can find ENDLESS Elf on the Shelf Accessories, Books, Games and Toys.
