I’m sure some of you have already seen this amazing coupon this week; but I stumbled upon it shopping  for cereal last night!  In the current Advantage Buys booklet pictured above, there is a coupon for $1.50 off Bananas wyb two General Mills Cereals!  This flyer is good 2/16 – 3/8 and there are actually a lot of great coupons in it, so grab a few the next time you’re at Publix!

Well, if you looked at my Publix deals, you know that General Mills Cereal are B1G1 including Cheerios, Kix and a few others:

Grab two boxes for as low as $2.08 and you’ll be able to get a little more than 2 lbs. of Bananas for FREE with coupon!  Bananas are $.69 per lb., so if you wanted to get some for FREE, just figure out how much $1.50 would cover and it’s about 2 pounds.  Since we eat those superfruits like crazy in our house, I was all over that deal!

Coupon Chaos Mama is combining shrimp and seafood for a tasty seafood supper. This recipe is intended to pair with Publix Current Weekly Ad Sales.

Baked Shrimp with Tomato and Feta
(An Ellie Krieger Recipe, Foodnetwork.com)

Ingredients

Medium White Shrimp, 41 – 50 per pound $5.99 lb
Sweet Onions $.99 lb
B1G1 Del Monte Tomatoes 14.5 oz  $1.29
B1G1 President Feta Cheese, 6 oz tub $5.19
$3/2 President Cheeses Rolling
Garlic cloves $1.03 or Jarred minced
 garlic $1.99
 Fresh (or dried) Dill $1.29 (fresh) or $3.99 (dried)
 Fresh (or dried) Parsley $.99 (fresh) or $3.35 (dried)
 Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice – 8.5 to 8.8 oz $4/2

If you don’t have on hand, you will also need:

Olive Oil
 salt & pepper

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in an oven proof skillet over a medium-high heat. Add 1 ½ cups diced onion and cook, stirring, until softened, about 3 minutes. Add 2 cloves (or 2 tsp jarred) minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Next add two 14.5-ounce cans of no salt added diced tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let simmer for about 5 minutes, until the tomato juices thicken. Remove from the heat. Stir in ¼ cups fresh parsley(or 2 tbsp dried), 1 tsp fresh(1/2 tsp dried) dill, and 1 -1/4 lbs shrimp. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle 2/3 cup feta over the top. Bake until the shrimp are cooked through and cheese melts, about 12 minutes. Serve over or with a side of brown rice to complete the meal.

Note: If you don’t have an oven proof skillet, you can transfer the tomato mixture into an oven safe dish, mix in the other ingredients and then bake.

Publix shoppers – we have some Publix Coupon Policy Changes coming. This policy goes into effect Oct. 1 with a grace period until Oct. 18. There aren’t any huge changes, which is good, but there are a few changes that I want to highlight:

Coupon limit: Only 8 of the same coupon can be redeemed per day. I have mixed feelings on this one. It’s not a huge change because you’re only allowed 10 sale items per day anyway, but I do like being able to use up to 10 coupons. However, I think this will help curb shelf clearing, which is good for all of us in the long run.

Overage: Money back will now be given on a Publix gift card rather than in cash. I always liked the feeling of getting cash back when I had overage after all my coupons but, really, a gift card is just as good!

Here is a list of all the changes:

  • Coupons will only be accepted for identical items.
  • You can use a maximum of 2 coupons per item – a manufacturer coupon and either a Publix store coupon or competitor coupon.
  • Digital manufacturer coupons can not be combined with paper manufacturer coupons on the same item.
  • Percentage off items or percentage off total order coupons will not be accepted.
  • Coupons that Publix determines to be printed incorrectly (missing coupon details) will not be accepted.
  • Coupons shown on a mobile phone or device will not be accepted.
  • Coupons that appear to be copied will not be accepted.
  • Each BOGO item is considered a separate purchase.
  • You may only use 8 of the same coupons per day per household.
  • Individual coupons above $5 require manager approval.
  • You may only use one Publix or competitor dollar off total order coupon per day per household.
  • Any overage at the end of a transaction will be giving on a Publix gift card.
  • You may only get 1 rain check per item per day per household.
  • Rainchecks will not be issued for Publix, manufacturers or competitor coupons.
